00:00I'm just going to ask you all this question.
00:04Is there ever a moment where it may not be a good match?
00:08Yes.
00:09How do you handle that situation?
00:10If you choose a coach, it's not a good match.
00:13Whether it's face-to-face, how do you handle that situation?
00:17There may be moments where there may not be a good match, right?
00:21But if you are a coach and you are an effective coach,
00:24then the goal would be not for them to be coached by you,
00:27but be coached to where they're going.
00:29And so we have an amazing group of coaches,
00:32and we will be able to help you identify that.
00:34We'll be able to help you identify where is it that you have a best fit,
00:38and we can help that transition happen easily.
00:41So, yes, I think when you walk in integrity as a coach, it's not about us.
00:45It's more about our individual client.
00:49Perfect. Yes.
00:50And I would also like to add, I believe as coaches,
00:52if we are honest with ourselves and we realize that we can't be the end-all,
00:58be-all for everybody, I believe that if you have a network,
01:01like we have a great network here, then you will bring another coach in
01:05and allow that other coach to add some value to that life of that individual
01:10that's come to you.
01:11So I think that's one of the keys as well.
01:13Awesome.
01:14I would like to add, double-clicking on everything that everyone said,
01:17is that asking for feedback, so really understanding where were the gaps
01:21in the first initial consultation engagement with the client,
01:26and then that also will help us say, okay, I need to pass he or she off to Dr. Ken.
01:30You know what I mean?
01:31And so I think that asking for feedback and then them experiencing you
01:35as asking for feedback will help them see themselves as well, right?
01:39So then they can learn how to ask for feedback on their journey.
01:42Okay. Awesome.
01:44Well, Chelsea, you actually get to, you know, get this last question.
01:48Why should people invest in themselves?
01:50I actually think it would be good for each of you all to just give a little bit
01:54of why it's good for people to invest in themselves and get a coach.
01:58Yes. So I believe it's layered.
02:02One thing is for when you're investing in coaching,
02:06one thing that one of my colleagues would say, her name is Tia Buckham-White,
02:09and she would always say, everywhere you go, there you are.
02:13So the coaching is not only going to help you with your professional life,
02:16it's going to help you with your personal life
02:18because how you're being experienced in the professional dynamic,
02:22you're going to be experienced the same way at home, right?
02:25So you're going to be blessed on both sides.
02:26So I think just that one piece.
02:29Then I'd also like to offer, for those that are in transitioning to a career,
02:33maybe they're on a PIP, maybe they're that new leader, you know,
02:37on the fast track and they're needing coaching to elevate themselves,
02:41executive presence, if you're wanting to look at that.
02:43So it's layered, but I believe that our ancestors are requiring us to step up.
02:49It's time for everyone to level up, and they're wanting us.
02:52They are yearning for us to step up.
02:54So that's what I would add.
02:56We are their wildest dreams, right?
02:58Yes.
02:58Yes.
02:59Anyone else want to add anything?
03:00Yes, I would like to add something.
03:02So I always tell people, the reason why you definitely want to get a coach
03:05is because a lot of us, it's very difficult for us to get started.
03:09And it's because of the word fear, right?
03:12But I look at fear like this.
03:14One of my coaches told me this.
03:15They said, fear just simply means false evidence appearing real.
03:18And so if we can get past that initial, quote unquote, fear,
03:24then I believe then we're on to something.
03:26But sometimes we need a coach to come and inject something in that whole flow
03:32of what it is that we need in order for us to get started.
03:35And that's why I think getting a coach is very important.
03:37And Lord knows, I have quite a few coaches, and that's why I am where I am today.
03:41Exactly.
03:42And I want to add to that.
03:43First of all, let's be clear.
03:45The investment is not necessarily a financial investment.
03:48The investment is your future.
03:49And if we want to talk about the black community, ultimately, in the past, it's been,
03:56well, if I get coaching, that means I'm broken.
03:58Or if I'm coaching, that means there's something I'm lacking.
04:02But really, if you want to become the grandest version of the greatest vision
04:05you've ever seen of yourself, you are going to have to get the help that you need
04:10and partner alongside individuals like ourselves and those who are part of the academy
04:17to be able to help you become what you see in your dreams.
04:20It's not about the financial investment.
04:22It's about the sacrifice that you're willing to make to help build you
04:26in that personal capability, that professional capability,
04:29and even in your spiritual growth and development.
04:32Yes, and to your point, one of the things that I've noticed,
04:34a lot of times when people will start their coaching journey,
04:37they're starting on an area they believe that they need to improve on.
04:43And oftentimes, that's not the root.
04:45And as coaches, we're able to identify you're actually starting in the wrong area,
04:51and we're able to do that assessment to show, no, actually, that's a result.
04:56But this is actually the root.
04:58So let's kind of work on this, and everything else will kind of line up by default.
05:02Awesome.
05:02So I'll tell you one little small nugget that a coach gave me, a piece of advice.
05:09She said there's a difference in being prepared versus being ready, right?
05:13Because I'll tell you, and I can only imagine if I could offer this service
05:19and ability to many of my employees and teams
05:23and make it available to our company all around the world.
05:26That's the beauty of it being on a digital platform, right?
05:29It's not necessarily where it has to be a one-on-one, face-to-face, like, live experience.
05:37But that helping me understand the difference between being prepared versus being ready.
05:42Being ready means I'm always focused on my impact.
05:44And I think that's the beauty of what you all do,
05:47is helping people understand their true impact.
05:50So, Aaliyah, I'm going to turn it to you before I close us out.
05:54I think you have something to share.
05:56I do.
05:56So, as you know, we've been talking about this professional coaching app,
06:01and we are launching it this fall, which we are extremely excited about.
06:06One reason we're super excited about it is just something that Madhupe said.
06:10It's about access.
06:11You can literally be on your phone and coaching,
06:15getting the help that you need to be the best version of yourself.
06:18So, if you go to academy-excellence.com slash coach,
06:25you will actually be able to sign up for early access.
06:29Once we release the app, the first 100 people actually get a free coaching session.
06:35So, it's literally nothing to lose.
06:38Nothing to lose.
06:39So, we're really excited about it.
06:41We feel like it's a game changer.
06:42We think that, as you've heard from these wonderful coaches, they will all be on the app.
06:47Yes.
06:48Which is, that would be exciting for me.
06:50Right.
06:50Because they're all my friends and colleagues, and I think they're amazing.
06:54They'll all be on the app, and we have many more people who will be on the app.
06:57So, again, if you want to be your best, highest version of yourself, this is one way.
07:01And one way that I'm, excuse me, strongly advocating for is for you to get a coach.
07:06Yes.
07:07So, you're all going to take advantage of that exciting offer that she shared with you.
07:12Yes?
07:13Yes.
07:13And there's one more thing.
07:15And there's one more thing.
07:16There's both.
07:17The link.
07:18Oh, yes.
07:19So, academy, I'm sorry, advancing-excellence.com slash coach.

07:38Yes.
07:39Essence.com slash academy coach.
07:41I love seeing everyone in the audience looking down.
07:45They asked for the link, so that lets you know that they're going to take advantage of it.

07:54you bring, not just to Essence today, but to the world.

08:06want us to step up.
