A tiny, button-sized snail once believed to be gone for good has now been confirmed safe from extinction.The greater Bermuda snail was thought to have been extinct until a small population was rediscovered 10 years ago in an alleyway in Bermuda.The numbers have soared through a groundbreaking breed-to-release programme led by international experts such as Chester Zoo.Conservationists have now bred and released more than 100,000 into the wild.
