00:00school um i was one of of of three black people and one anti-black dominican man
00:10um who has since sent me the longest apologetic text messages i must say um but i was wondering
00:21why they weren't they weren't angry with i was wondering why they weren't it was like when i'm
00:28like hey do y'all not see that this is fucked up they're like yeah no but um so acting right uh
00:35we're actors um i just came here to act sorry jerry i don't wanna and it was my white counterparts
00:41who were like what is it that you need how can we help and so when i say right places that don't
00:47care about right i don't mean like that doesn't that doesn't have a race to it you can be in an
00:53black place that don't care about niggas okay yeah and so i mean when you it's it's difficult
01:01because different people's priorities are in different places and even in even in college
01:07i was african-american studies major and i had some black teachers which is why i identify with the
01:12camille character so much who were so hard on me and i was like are you are you okay because
01:23this is not okay but feeling like people feeling like there's a certain hazing process that comes
01:32with black wealth and black ascension that they didn't have to pass on and it's not okay yeah
01:38it's not okay trauma begets trauma shout out to um the houston uh uh clothing every
01:46nigga deserves stupid um but i just wanted to add to that that i think that is the process i have
02:05empathy for our folks right i always want to put it in context right there are so many things that um and
02:13and systemize tools and tactics to turn us against each other it's not it it it's it's you're queer
02:22you're african you're caribbean you're dominican you're a woman you're trans right not realizing we
02:33all got to organize together and our liberation is interlinked right i don't ever you know there's a very
02:44famous activist who
02:52come on now you know all skin folk ain't camp folk right okay okay and you know takes money from these
03:01big you know evil white motherfuckers it's for real it's true and he told me to my face
03:11you don't think i'm smarter than them no i do not they have billions of dollars to pay other people
03:21to think 24 7 about how to oppress you further you are not gonna be able to do it alone ain't no way
03:30yeah and they convince us isolate us and then keep they isolate the ones that got the resources don't
03:36talk to them other niggas because you finally here don't go back and so i do have while i despise that
03:48yeah not the person yeah and i have a lot more grace for my people and it just reminds me over and
04:01over again that the answer ain't this yeah the answer ain't this the institutions that survive a lot of
04:07the time survive for a reason yeah the ones that don't are attacked for a reason yeah and so a lot of
04:13the time the institutions that survive that are run by a lot of black folks have been selected by
04:18white folks right or know that they're not going to mess up the money or whatever it is so they allowed
04:24it to thrive and then those institutions are used in that system to attack our own people and we have
04:33to just be aware of that yeah and so we have to learn our vetting process our own personal vetting process
04:40for where we get involved and who we organize with listen because sometimes we have to take that
04:47same organizing tactic that same community that we've built of black people who know we support
04:53each other yeah right to either call them in or call them out or take them resources and use them for
05:03the right regions you know all right all right period we're gonna pass the collection plate in a second
05:08all right listen so i want to say thank you to jerry and kendrick both for for telling us and teaching
