00:00HBCU Experience is a special experience.
00:29I wanted to attend an HBCU because I come from an HBCU family and want to continue our legacy.
00:34It's really inspiring to be a part of a university with people who have like-minded visions who are just like you.
00:42HBCUs, HBCUs. I see you. You see me. HBCU for life, baby. Dear Norfolk State, I thank you for allowing me to grow.
01:04I love historical black colleges and universities and the role they've played throughout our history.
01:10It seemed like ever since I've been there, they just wanted me there and they wanted me to be the best me I could be.
01:17There's just so much value, so much that's created, the education and the rules and the things that we learn how to navigate through in an HBCU that are crucial for being able to navigate in the corporate world.
01:31Different experiences and mentorships that I have just gone through while I'm here, the different people.
01:37It has taught me that I'm powerful enough to overcome challenges, that my voice means something, that I am an advocator.
01:44It definitely taught me how to be myself. It taught me how to walk in my purpose.
01:52It really feels like a family on my campus, especially because it's small, so it's easier to relate with everyone, to find everyone.
02:00What I love about black colleges, HBCUs, is that we unapologetically produce so much black excellence.
02:08It's forever in my life where I tell people that if you come from a low-income area or an area that's very wealthy,
02:16you are not going to ever find an experience quite like an HBCU. It just feels like family.
02:22Students who attend HBCUs are able to get the kind of access and opportunity at an affordable price.
02:43When you're coming to an HBCU, it's really like coming home.
02:47You know, you're not just going to build an academic network. You are going to find community.
02:55You're going to have a whole new extended family.
02:58And everyone, faculty, staff, and your fellow students are going to be vested, have a vested interest in your success.
03:07Support what we do, how we do it, and our commitment to the future.
03:12Continuing to graduate highly prepared, historically black college and university graduates.
03:18And that is my love letter to HBCUs.
