00:00What's up Girls United fam? It's your girl Ciara Capri and we are here today with Essence during
00:11the segment of hashtag my voice matters. We will be talking with girls from all over the world
00:15about what is something that they would like to see changed in the world and what matters to them.
00:20As we all know this election that is coming up November 3rd matters to us so we need to get it
00:25together we have a lot to do before then so let's get right into it. First up we have Tiffany let's see
00:31what matters to her. Tiffany what is one change that you would like to see happen in this world?
00:35I would like to see many more young women find their voices to shape their lives and improve
00:42their communities in a manner that is authentic to and for them across identities. We need unity and
00:49thought and action and the only way that we can have unity and thought and action is by pointing
00:54out our differences and leaning into them to figure out how to use those differences to serve each
01:00other. Thank you. Thank you so much Tiffany and let's hear from two other lovely young ladies and
01:06they're going to share with us what matters to them and what changes they would like to see. So Jasmine
01:11please express to us what matters to you. What matters most to me is protection. I feel like my city
01:20should incorporate a budget that would allow more security for individuals and private properties
01:25such as private patrol security companies or escorts that that's requested by individuals.
01:31It's really disheartening and disgraceful for me to constantly wonder if I'm someone's next victim.
01:37Well thank you so much Jasmine. I appreciate you sharing that your voice matters. Please don't ever
01:43forget that and let's see let's hear what another somebody else has to say. So going into Brandy Starr.
01:50Brandy what's one change that you would like to see happen in this world?
01:57I would say I would love to see more highly funded government and corporate partnerships nationally.
02:05My generation is powerful and I am sorry but I'm tired of seeing us marketed to but not supported.
02:13I agree that yes our voice does matter but our presence matters, our accomplishments matter,
02:20and our knowledge truly matters. Well thank you so much ladies for being here and sharing your truth
02:26and encouraging all of us to speak our truth and the importance of our voice and reminding everyone
02:33that our voices do matter and there's power in our voice and there's power in the vote. So I appreciate you
02:38ladies thank you so much and good luck to you and all your future endeavors and thank you so much Essence
02:44and before I go
