00:00The Philippine Sports Commission or PSC and the BASIS Conversion and Development Authority or BCDA
00:06are working together to develop a 20-hectare sports development area in New Clark City, Tarla.
00:12The project includes a 10-hectare multi-specialty sports complex
00:16and a separate 10-hectare site for the proposed Philippine Tennis Center.
00:21The development aims to create a more comprehensive and inclusive system for Filipino athletes
00:27while strengthening regional training hubs outside Metro Manila.
00:31According to PSC Chairperson Patrick Gregorio, the partnership with BCDA is crucial
00:36as it is expected to ensure sustainable funding for the continuous development of sports in the country.
00:43Also present during the site visit to New Clark City were Leyte 4th District Representative Richard Gomez
00:50and BCDA officials who inspected existing facilities such as the Athletic Stadium
00:57Aquatic Center, Athletes' Village, and the National Academy of Sports.
