00:20The Washington Post is taking a number of difficult but decisive actions today for our
00:25future in what amounts to a significant restructuring across the company.
00:29One Post reporter speaking anonymously calls the layoff a bloodbath.
00:33Those affected include Amazon beat reporter Caroline O'Donovan, Cairo bureau chief Claire Parker,
00:38and other Middle East correspondents and editors. The Employees Union WAPO Guild says on X,
00:43if Jeff Bezos is no longer willing to invest in the mission that has defined this paper
00:47for generations, then the Post deserves a steward that will.
