Transcript
00:00Hey Naturally Cali World, welcome to Watch and Go, the show where we do our hair and review what we watched.
00:05This week I'm going to be reviewing season three of Narcos.
00:10Cocaine cartels are about succession.
00:15While the whole world was focused on Escobar, Cali became the biggest cocaine cartel in history.
00:22But to pretend that these guys weren't just as evil as the guy that came before them, that's a mistake.
00:31So first I'm going to shampoo with Ellucent's Moisture Benefits Shampoo.
00:39Then I'm going to do this new DivaCurl Melt Into Moisture Conditioning Mask.
00:45And then I'm going to style my hair with Jessie Curl Rockin' Ringlet Styling Potion.
00:51And Elliot Looks Extreme Sport Level 10 Plus Hole Gel.
00:56I'll explain this when we get to that step.
00:58Don't make fun of me quite yet, okay?
01:01I promise you there's a reason I'm using this.
01:03So I'm going to go shampoo my hair and put in this condition mask and then I'll start telling you about Narcos.
01:10Okay, so I washed my hair and I put that mask in my hair.
01:13I'm going to leave it in for three to five minutes.
01:16So while I'm waiting for my hair to moisturize, I'm going to tell you all about season three of Narcos.
01:21So at the end of the last season, season two, we saw Pablo Escobar die and I for one am really going to miss like those sweaters he was wearing with his dad jeans and those like Reebok like the white sneakers.
01:38I low-key liked Pablo Escobar like he was crazy but he was entertaining.
01:45Then this season, season three, it focuses on the Cali Cartel which basically move in after Pablo dies and they take over the cocaine trade in Colombia.
01:56The white DEA guy from the past two seasons, I don't remember his name, he's not on the show anymore.
02:05Javier Pena is still like leading the whole crusade against the cocaine dealers in Colombia.
02:12He almost gets kicked out because he kind of ignores rules, he's kind of a DEA bad boy, you know what I'm saying?
02:19But he is actually very good at his job.
02:22So the Cali Cartel is made up of four leaders and one of them gets captured early in the season and he was like the leader leader, like he was the leader that led all other leaders.
02:32So then his brother has to like step in for him and like their head of security, he's trying to leave the cartel to start his own security firm but they won't let him.
02:43They're just like, no, we'll kill you.
02:47So then he's like, well, I don't want to die but I also don't want to work for this cartel.
02:53So he goes to the DEA and he starts working with DEA.
02:57You either stay in the cartel for the rest of your life or they kill you.
03:01There's like, there's no alternative.
03:03So he starts working with the DEA and trying to like organize it so that the rest of the cartel will be captured and he can escape Colombia.
03:14You're like super worried about him, his wife, he has two little daughters and you're just like, oh no, honey, like this is not going to go well.
03:21Like you're definitely going to die.
03:22And he's such a good actor.
03:25Like he, his character arc in this, in the season is really good.
03:30And you see him go from being like this hard, like head of security guy, um, to at one point, like straight up having like a breakdown and like going to his wife crying.
03:41I'm going to go wash this mask out of my hair and I'll be right back to tell you more about Narcos.
03:46Okay. So I'm back.
03:47Uh, I put like a quarter size amount of this rock and ring with styling potion in my hair.
03:53And then I put a literal handful of this gel and I scrunched it into my soaking wet hair.
04:02This sounds really weird unless you know what the scrunch out the crunch method is.
04:06It's basically where you just use super intense gel to set your waves or curls.
04:12And then once they set, you use something else to scrunch out the crunch.
04:17I'm going to put these bobby pins in my roots to kind of boost them up while my hair dries.
04:24Violence wise, very similar as the past two seasons.
04:27If you don't like graphic violence, don't watch this show.
04:30They really like to kill people in terrible ways when something doesn't go the way they want it to.
04:35You know, it might haunt your dreams. Who knows? Good luck.
04:38Something I really like about this show is they incorporate a lot of like, um, real news footage and real photos into the, uh, the series.
04:50So you can see like what was, what was actually going on in Columbia at the time and how real this was.
04:56Like, yeah, they probably made up a lot of the dialogue, but all the events were real and that's what's really crazy about the show.
05:01It's always been a really frustrating show because of how hard it is to catch the cartel members because they pay off the police.
05:07They pay off the government.
05:08So this season was kind of all about like figuring out who's like leaking stuff.
05:13Who can he trust? Who can he not trust?
05:15How does he get to these people without them finding out beforehand, which is really tough.
05:20So my roots are mostly clipped up now.
05:22Um, so I'm just going to let this hair set for about 30 minutes.
05:25Let it air dry and then diffuse it until it's completely dry.
05:37Okay. So I just finished diffusing.
05:39I'm going to take these bobby pins out.
05:41My hair is probably 90% dry.
05:43I'm just going to let it air dry for the rest of the day.
05:47So what I really liked about, um, season three of Narcos was at the end of season two,
05:52I was kind of worried because I didn't know like where they were going to go with the plot of the series.
05:57Um, because they had spent two seasons focusing on Pablo Escobar.
06:01And I was like, well, where do they have to go?
06:04Is this going to be terrible next season?
06:06And it wasn't at all.
06:08It was actually really good.
06:09Um, arguably better even than the last two seasons.
06:14Um, the action was a lot easier to follow.
06:18The suspense was just as good.
06:21Uh, and I never felt like I was missing Pablo Escobar,
06:25which I really thought that I would except for his fashion for sure.
06:29Um, so I'm going to give the show four out of five stars.
06:33If you're into like drugs and cartels and trafficking and stuff like that,
06:39you'll probably really like it.
06:41So four out of five stars.
