00:00Hi, Naturally Curly World. I'm Gerilyn. Welcome to Watch and Go, the series where we review movies, TV shows, and fun things while we do our Wash and Go's.
00:11I am going to do a review of three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.
00:17What's the law on what you can and cannot say on a billboard?
00:20I'd do anything to catch your daughter's killer. I don't think those billboards is very fair.
00:25The police is too busy eating Krispy Kremes to solve actual crime.
00:29What's the matter with you saying that stuff on TV?
00:32Go, girl.
00:37There's a lot of good friends at the sheriff's.
00:40You didn't drill a little hole in the dentist today, did you?
00:44Of course not.
00:45So what makes this a little bit different is the fact that I'm going to show you a real quick skin care routine.
00:53Some of you have commented that you want to know, and I'll just show you.
00:58It's pretty basic.
01:02This movie stars one of the greatest actresses of all time.
01:09Her name is Frances McDormand, and she is golden.
01:13So she is playing the role of Mildred Hayes, who is a mother of a teenage daughter that was kidnapped and then raped and murdered.
01:29Pretty brutal stuff.
01:30Alongside her, she has Woody Harrelson, who plays Sheriff Willoughby.
01:36Next to him, you have Sam Rockwell.
01:39He has starred in one of my all-time favorite movies, which is Seven Psychopaths.
01:44Those three people kind of are the people you have to pay attention to in this movie.
01:50That's what the story is kind of moving around.
01:53Moving around these three people and how they interact with one another.
01:56While I tell you a little bit about this movie, I'm going to apply this on-the-spot itch relief scalp medicine drops treatment.
02:05And I'm just going to leave it on.
02:07That's the beauty about these drops, is all you have to do is put it on your scalp, leave it on.
02:12You don't have to rinse it off.
02:13It's awesome.
02:13Frances McDormand's character, Mildred, is my favorite part of this movie.
02:20She is not here to play.
02:24She cannot get any justice for her daughter that was slain.
02:29You know, the police department and the detectives in Ebbing, Missouri, they keep saying that they're going to look for the killers and they're going to look for these awful people.
02:43But it's been like months.
02:48So she decides, hey, you know what?
02:50I'm going to go ahead and put up some billboards, you know, big advertisements, calling out the police department.
02:57And that's exactly what she does.
03:00And it just starts going, starts escalating from there.
03:04And it's pretty, pretty crazy what happens.
03:08There's something very rugged and raw about her.
03:13And it's that, it's that thing that you don't know that lives inside of every mother, like inside of every mom.
03:22It's kind of like that protection thing.
03:25I don't, I don't know how to describe it because no, I'm not a mom, but you know it when you see it.
03:30What I didn't like about this particular movie, I wanted there to be more character development of Frances's kind of like sidekick friend.
03:40And her name is Denise.
03:43She's played by actress Amanda Warren.
03:47And from the previews, I really thought that like she and Amanda would like really kind of like get into some shenanigans together.
04:00And kind of like rile up this town together.
04:03But Denise immediately goes to jail.
04:08You know, like why, why?
04:12Like why does she go to jail?
04:13Why do black girls always gotta go to jail?
04:15She was fun.
04:16She had beautiful hair.
04:17She was rad.
04:18She was the perfect compliment to the Frances McDormand character.
04:23So why is she going away?
04:25So I'm going to go ahead and apply my apogee, prolific, moisture rich leave-in.
04:33So another scene, it kind of took me out of the movie a little bit because it was so graphic, was the, I'm calling it the police brutality scene.
04:45I can't remember in the scene if Officer Dixon was still an officer or not, but like he was, he used to be the po-po, so I call it the police brutality scene.
04:57And he beats up the guy that sold Frances McDormand the billboards.
05:04Sorry to spoil it for you, but he pushed him out the window.
05:07And if you think that's, you really think that's it, that's not it.
05:11He walks down, because it's a two-story, three-story building, walks downstairs and proceeds to kick and hit and beat this dude, like in the ground.
05:23Like as he's trying to like crawl away from him and like fighting for his life.
05:28That was too close.
05:29You know, we live, we live in a pretty crazy time where people are getting beat up left and right by authority figures or people that have some sort of shield from justice.
05:44And that was, that, that was really hard to watch.
05:50Um, in my beauty routine, I take hair, skin, and nail vitamins every day.
05:58And the one that I'm taking now is, uh, Nature's Bounty.
06:03So what I do is I take three of these pills.
06:06Um, it's just all your standard lady vitamin type stuff.
06:12I take three every day with a little bit of food.
06:15Of course, check with your physician first.
06:17I'm not a doctor.
06:18I can't stress that enough.
06:20I subscribe to the Proactive system.
06:24Here lately, I've only been using their cleanser.
06:27So I'm going to step away real quick and wash my face with this stuff.
06:31I'm back.
06:32I just need to wipe down my face.
06:36So next up, after I clean my face with the Proactive Renewing Cleanser, even Miami Purifying Tonic Lotion.
06:44So it's a toner and I've preached the gospel about this because it's wonderful.
06:51What I'm going to do is take a dry part of my towel, put a little bit on there, and go ahead and dab my face with it.
07:02Just do it like that.
07:04Oh.
07:04And then I just follow up with the Even Miami Facial Cream.
07:12It feels so good.
07:13I'm going to show you, while I tell you about the movie, how I apply basic, very, very basic makeup.
07:22I just take my face lotion here, and I'll take my makeup brush that has already a little bit of color on it from applying a heavier layer of foundation.
07:38So it probably has some pigment on here.
07:40I just pump a little bit of the lotion on the brush, and then I just brush the lotion into my face.
07:49So the only reason why I would give this movie 3 out of 5 stars is because of the police brutality scene taking me out of the movie.
08:00It was too close to home.
08:02It was too real for me.
08:03I didn't enjoy it, and I don't know another human being that would enjoy that.
08:10The only other thing that I complete my look with is with just a simple little color.
08:19This one I got from New York and Company.
08:23This color is called Central Spark.
08:28So we're going to put it on a little bit.
08:30It goes on really well.
08:32I have to keep it simple.
08:34In theory, I can apply it, and then when I walk outside, people are like,
08:39Sup, Pennywise?
08:40And I'm like, oh, no, I have to go home now.
08:42So, yeah, it's pretty brutal.
08:44This is my Wet n' Wild Mega Volume.
08:46It's really nice.
08:47I like it a lot.
08:48Then, I just shake it out.
08:55You know, it's too like, do you like that?
08:58Just make it extra dramatic.
09:01Like, that's where the drama comes in, right?
09:03Have you seen three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri?
