00:00Patty Hearst's 20th birthday passed much like the past 18 days since she was kidnapped by the mysterious Symbionese Liberation Army.
00:08There was great hope on the part of her family that the girl would be released and allowed to return to this lovely home surrounded by tall trees, quiet streets, and stately neighboring houses.
00:20That did not come to pass, however.
00:22The program called People in Need, set up by Patty's father as a gesture of good faith, rolled into high gear, as described by its organizer, Washington Secretary of State Ludlow Kramer.
00:34We are asking today that any producer of any commodities that wants to donate to the People in Need program to contact us.
00:44We have been given 32 trucks to date, and we'll be able to pick that food up tomorrow.
00:50We have 16 phones in operation as of now, and we believe we'll be able to take care of the calls that take place.
00:58The only thing that we have to pay for under the laws of this country is the telephone system.
01:03If anyone wants to donate what that costs, we will gladly accept that.
