00:05Fifty years ago, they said that single mothers were the downfall of America.
00:09Now that white women are single mothers, they're calling it creative family structure.
00:15Right?
00:16But I'm the product of a single mother.
00:18I'm not from a broken home.
00:20My home functioned fine.
00:22Because look at me now.
00:24Right?
00:25How you like me now?
00:25And so I'm here to say to you that all the narratives that you get about what is wrong
00:31with black women, I think black women are the savior of this country.
00:35I think we have more vision than anyone else.
00:37We want everybody to win.
00:39We want kids to be educated.
00:41We want communities to be safe.
00:43We want folks to have the families that they need.
00:46And so I think when you start to listen to black women, everybody wins.
00:50So I'm actually saying keep on doing what we're doing.
00:53And when you get tired, rest, have you a drink, go to church or therapy, and then go back and fight again.
