00:35This is the second time that we've taken Essence Festival to South Africa in Durban.
00:39What should we expect from the event?
00:40You know, for me, because I went to the one in New Orleans, and it was such an eye-opening
00:45experience because I didn't realize it was that big, you know? But what I hope that it's
00:50going to do is that it's going to bring out the young people. And of course, and of course,
00:55women. I want to see more and more women come out to the Essence Festival in Durban because
01:00it's such a great space and it's a safe space for women to be empowering each other and women
01:05to just be sharing, you know, all things womanhood.
01:08Yes.
01:09So, I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. And I know that people are going to come out in
01:13their numbers. Everyone is excited to see TDJs come out.

01:18He's going to preach. But you know what I loved about it last year was the culture.
01:21Remember when they had, like, all the different cultures come out, people singing and dancing?
01:25Oh, for sure.
01:26And we're going to have that again this year because, for me, I truly believe that, you
01:29know, as South Africans, we are so versatile in who we are. I could be in a leather dress.
01:34Yes.
01:35So, when I go home, I could also wear my beads, you know, my colorful beads. So, we're just,
01:39there's so much versatility. And I keep saying, everyone in America, come on, come on, come
01:43on, come see it.
