00:00I'm Coco, and I'm Breezy, and we're eyewear designers, but we're just like, creative artists, but we're co-founders of the eyewear company, Coco, and Breezy.
00:23Um, originally we're from Minnesota, but we've been in New York for about three, oh, a little bit over three years now.
00:30We chose to live in New York because we always felt like, we always felt like we were like New York girls.
00:34Growing up, being younger, we felt that like New York was always calling our name, and so finally when we were 17, we came out here just to visit, and like when we just stepped foot in New York, we're like, oh my gosh, we have to live in New York one day.
00:47Loved it. I'm a wild child if I didn't have Coco. So I was like, Coco, let's just quit our jobs and just like move to New York. And so, um, we did it.
00:56Growing up, I remember Breezy at like third grade, she would be like, oh, mom, how do you feel entrepreneur?
01:02Yeah, I always wanted to be an entrepreneur.
01:05So we always knew we wanted to own a business. We never knew what exactly.
01:08Yeah, okay, well, if we started a company, we had to focus on one thing.
01:11Because before, when we were younger, people used to say, what do you want to do?
01:14Like, I want to be a dancer, a dancer, a model, fashion designer, um, artist, everything.
01:20And they're like, you can't do it all. I'm like, yes, I can.
01:23And then we didn't think back, like, okay, we can do it all, but we just start with one thing first.
01:28So we're like, okay, well, let's just start off with eyewear.
01:30We're always into accessories. We're always into wearing sunglasses.
01:33Why not, why don't we just design our own eyewear?
01:35We felt very passionate about eyewear because the story behind it is that we would use sunglasses to like block ourselves away from people because we were so like concerned.
01:43And like different, shy, like our, like our style is louder than our personality.
01:48Yeah.
01:49So people staring at us was like, would tear our hearts apart.
01:52So like us wearing our glasses was a way to give us confidence.
01:55Yeah, so that's when we felt, okay, let's start with eyewear.
01:57And so now our, um, we've been in business for about three years now.
02:00Yeah.
02:01We came to a point where we're like, okay, so we have these trendy aesthetic glasses that we know obviously are not going to last forever.
02:07What can we do next to like, like to take our brands like that next level?
02:12And we were just like kind of struggling because I feel like when we, when we first moved to New York, our life just like changed like instantly.
02:18Like we were working at the mall one day and like literally a couple weeks after that, Kelly Osborne, Ashanti, Nikki, everyone like wearing our sunglasses.
02:27Yeah, so then now, since our business has grown and now everything's produced and designed by us, we're like, okay, now we have a little bit of extra time to like, to dibble and dabble into all our other things that we dreamed of doing.
02:40So I think that like we've created a style where with our eyewear, each piece in our collections all fit for a different personality.
02:47And the whole design aspect of it and the aesthetic is like based on like different shapes and like taking a classic piece and like kind of recreating our own form, formality with it.
02:58So we say we design for a personality, we don't design for a gender and it really just makes us like feel good when we see other people feeling good for our product.
03:08That's kind of like what moves us.
