00:00Liverpool could soon host an Irish music festival, returning to the city for the first time in eight years.
00:07There have been hopes the festival would return, particularly as more than three-quarters of Liverpool's population have links to the Emerald Isle.
00:16Organisers have submitted a temporary premises licence for Newsome Park for the 5th and 6th of June.
00:22This would allow live music to be played from midday to midnight across both days.
00:27The two-day festival includes performances from Nathan Carter, the Whistling Donkeys, the Kilkenneys and others.
00:35The event hopes to showcase Irish food and drink alongside traditional Irish dance and cultural performances alongside the live music.
