00:00Donald Trump is seeking $1 billion in damages from Harvard University,
00:05amid his administration's feud with the institution.
00:08In a post on Truth Social, the U.S. president accused Harvard of illegal conduct,
00:13saying the White House wants nothing to do with the university going forward.
00:19Harvard has been a key target in the administration's push
00:23to stamp out what it calls radical left ideologies in higher education.
00:27The Trump administration has also accused Harvard of failing to do enough to address anti-Semitism
00:33following pro-Palestinian protests on campus.
00:37Harvard has rejected the claim.
00:39In April last year, Trump revoked around $2 billion in research grants to Harvard and froze federal funding.
00:46The university sued the government over the move,
00:48and a federal court later overturned the funding cuts,
00:51ruling that the government had violated Harvard's free speech rights.
00:55The White House has since vowed to appeal that decision.
