00:00A factory producing plastic trophies and medals in Bayan La Paz industrial area in Penang was
00:11destroyed in a fire on Tuesday morning. Fire and rescue department crews arrived after an
00:17emergency call at 9 10 a.m. and they contained the blaze which affected a 232 square meter building.
00:24The fire involved flammable materials such as thinner primer hexane and color pigments in the
00:31premises. The hazardous materials special team was deployed to inspect the site including parameter
00:38readings to ensure there was no chemical leakage from the factory's storage tanks. The fire was
00:43brought under control by 11 40 a.m. with overhaul work to secure the area completed at 12 26 p.m.
00:50No casualties were reported.
