00:00This card is worth over US$1 billion.
00:04In 2005, someone actually offered me about US$1 million to buy this card.
00:08When I saw it, I was thinking, is this for real?
00:10Like, wow, we actually decided that we will not go for the deal.
00:13Because I think that there are certain things that money can't buy.
00:15This is Chang Lun.
00:16And he has a card collection of more than 300 cards
00:19worth more than US$1.5 million in total.
00:22Interesting set, right?
00:23It's what they call the Scream.
00:24You have various Pokemons doing the very famous Scream post.
00:29Back in 1998, Pokemon actually organised a competition for illustrators.
00:33You know, the Koro Koro magazine.
00:35There are only 39 cards of this being given out in the whole world.
00:37This is the only card with the word Illustrator on it.
00:40Every other card is a trainer.
00:41It's commonly known as the Holy Grail of Pokemon TCG.
00:44Like the Ronaldo of football.
00:46Or like Michael Jordan of basketball.
00:48When I first saw this card on sale, I was like,
00:50Should I go for it?
00:52Because it was a very crazy amount of price.
00:54So I was thinking, actually what I'm buying, right?
00:56It's not the card, but more of the history of Pokemon itself.
00:58It's like being able to hold the Mona Lisa in your hands.
01:01It's like a very unreal feeling.
01:03I came back to the Pokemon scene around in 2024.
01:06Initially, I only spent like a few thousand dollars on a few cards.
01:09Then I realised, I might not buy more.
01:12So like, you know, it's another 10,000 yen, 10,000 yen, 10,000 yen.
01:15And slowly before I know it, it's like a six-figure card of collection.
01:18So how does Wan become a card collector or investor?
01:21For my card collection, I have like, as low as $50.
01:24And I know as high as up to like, recently valued at $1,000,000.
01:26New collectors would tend to ask, what should I buy?
01:28Normally I would tell them, right?
01:29We shouldn't get into this hobby for the sake of making money.
01:32Because what if the card like, trash 50% overnight?
01:34Then are you okay with it?
01:35And then make sure that, you know, the money you spend on is a sensible one.
01:38For Zhan Lun, he plans to leave his beloved card collection to his successor.
01:42So this is Sushi, she's a five-year-old Lissier.
01:45And she's basically our daughter.
01:47So technically, she's the owner of the cards.
01:49That's why my Instagram is called Sushi with Cards.
01:52Well, that's one wealthy dog.
01:54What do you have to say about that, Sushi?
01:58I think that at the end of the day, we have to be sensible.
02:00So I think that if someone really offers me an invisible amount,
02:03I might have to let it go.
02:04Yeah, but we'll see how it goes.
02:06Any interested buyers?
02:07Well, if you are, remember.
