00:10of his three day trip to China, the first by a UK leader in nearly a decade.
00:15It was a real strengthening of the relationship and that's in the national interest because of course
00:20for huge opportunities here in China. It's the second biggest economy in the world.
00:25And that's why we've got such a big business delegation among the agreements struck.
00:30Between London and Beijing visa free entry for British nationals traveling to China.
00:35For less than 30 days, but it wasn't all good vibes. Starmer says.
00:40He raised some tough issues with Xi, including imprisoned pro-democracy hog.
00:45Hong Kong media mogul Jimmy Lai and China's poor human rights record with Uyghur minorities.
00:50in Xinjiang.
00:51Well, we raised those issues as you would expect.
00:55I think part of the rationale for engagement is to make sure that
01:00we can both seize the opportunities that are available, which is what we've done, but also have
01:05a mature discussion about issues that we disagree on.
01:09The two sides also
01:10discussed Taiwan with China saying the UK will not change its policy towards
01:15the country.
01:16Britain does not recognize Taiwan as a state.
01:20The former is one of several world leaders who have made trips to China lately, including the heads
01:25of France, South Korea and Canada.

01:33His administration has put terrorists.
01:35terrorists on almost all countries, including close allies, which has upended the global order.
01:40When asked about Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's recent
01:45visits to China, Trump showed his disapproval.
01:48Mr. President, what do you think about
01:50the UK getting into business with China?
01:52Keir Starmer was in Beijing.
01:53Well, it's very dangerous.
01:55For them to do that.
01:56And it's even more dangerous, I think, for Canada to get into business with China.
02:00Still, the UK and China seem to be moving forward on warmer ties, something
02:05Beijing has confirmed.
02:06But despite some speculation about what that could mean for London.
02:10Washington and Washington, one expert says their long-term relationship is still rock solid.
02:15I think the British, if they're ever presented with a simple
02:20America or China kind of choice, they will always choose.
02:25America because the relationship with America is extremely strong.
02:30America.
02:31It's broad.
02:32The UK is just the latest country looking to rebound.
02:35The U.S.
02:36balanced ties between key ally, the U.S. and its chief rival, China.
02:40But with Washington's relations with the rest of the world in question, it may not be the
