00:00This mistake was so good that the director left it in.
00:03Have you ever mentioned something to
00:05someone and then gone on to live to regret it?
00:06Well, that's exactly what happened to Daryl Hanna
00:09when she mentioned to
00:10Ridley Scott that she was a former gymnast.
00:12This led to her performing her own stunts as press and
00:15acrobatic replicant in the world of Blade Runner.
00:17In a scene where Pris is being pursued by J.F. Sebastian,
00:20Hanna used her abilities to make the scene look more realistic,
00:22but she actually overachieved on this accidentally.
00:25Smashing elbow first into a car window when she messed up a stunt.
00:28This meeting of bone and glass
00:30did not exactly end well for the organic side of the equation
00:32as Hanna chipped her elbow in eight different ways.
00:35And fortunately for her, she was playing an unfeeling robot.
00:38And unfeeling robots don't get to
00:40cry when they hurt themselves.
00:41Hanna valiantly carried on with the rest of the scene,
00:44no doubt in exc-
00:45excruciating pain.
00:46The window break take was kept in the final cut.
00:48Glass smashing sound effect.
00:50Actually, we shouldn't really even say final cut
00:52since there's been about 2,000 final cuts of-
00:55Blade Runner and there'll probably be 2,000 more
00:56by the time this video comes out.
