00:00Regretting U2, first trailer, 2026, brings back the cast of
00:05the original film, including McKenna Grace, Dave Franco, Hallis
00:10and Williams, and Mason Thames.
00:12This sequel picks up with Morgan, played by
00:15Alison Williams, still grappling with the aftermath of a devastating family tragedy.
00:20When her husband and sister died in a car accident after a long-term affair was revealed, Morgan
00:25s life was shattered. Now, as she tries to move forward the secrets,
00:30and lies that defined her past threatened to resurface, the film centers on Morgan.
00:35Her daughter, Clara Aura, McKenna Grace, and her brother-in-law.
00:40Jonah, Dave Franco. Together, they navigate a world marked by grief, unannounced
00:45answered questions, and the uncertainty surrounding Clara's paternity.
00:50As the story unfolds, Clara Aura remains unaware of the full truth behind her parents' affair
00:55and... much of the drama stems from the weight of the secrecy.
01:00Yet, despite the high-stakes premise, the sequel struggles to generate real emotional tension
01:05Alison Williams returns as Morgan, but her performance... much like an
01:10character in the first film, feels muted. The depth of her grief never quite lands.
01:15Dave Franco's Jonah is...
01:20It's similarly underwhelming, with awkward delivery and minimal emotional range.
01:25The real standout remains McKenna Grace as Clara, whose sincerity and strength
01:30bring much-needed authenticity to the film. Her portrayal is the emotional anger
01:35grounding the story in moments of vulnerability and resilience supporting characters.
01:40including Clara Aura's relationship with aspiring filmmaker Miller, feel generic and failed to add
01:45meaningful depths. The film leans heavily on texting scenes, using
01:50animated bubbles to depict conversations, but these moments often feel artificial.
01:55And... do little to enhance the story or highlight genuine human connection.
02:00The slow pacing and lack of tension make the narrative feel flat, and the overuse of
02:05sentimentality does not help the film resonate. Based on Colin Howard's novel...
02:10Adapted by Susan McCartan, Regretting U2 is directed by George Boone.
02:15Despite the returning cast, and familiar faces, the sequel fails...
02:20...to elevate the story or characters. With only one book in the series, a third and
02:25installment seems unlikely. Regretting U2 is a slow, overly sentimental drama.
02:30that struggles to make its mark. Making it an easy film to regret watching.
02:35the film to...
02:36...this film is a short, and a multi-notch, and dove into a little bit over...
02:41...reform it to work...
02:43...in a small book in the series.
02:45We've got a lot of work.
02:47And as far as the middle of the film out...
02:51...we've got a lot of work...
02:52...we've seen some of our film out...
02:55So that's the time...
02:57...we've got a lot of work...
03:00...we've got a lot of work...
03:01...we've got a lot of work...
03:03...well, what also Hook has been doing?
