00:01:55You know, you have your torque values in your manual.

00:02:00There's lubricating threads or not lubricating them.

00:02:02There's all kinds of different materials.

00:02:04What are you clamping?

00:02:05What's the bolt made of?

00:02:06What's the diameter of the bolt?

00:02:08What's the length of the bolt?

00:02:10Metal.

00:02:10You know, we say hard is steel.

00:02:12Well, steel is pretty hard.

00:02:13It's pretty nice material.

00:02:14It's hard.

00:02:15It has less spring than titanium.

00:02:20Aluminum is awfully soft.

00:02:22How many threads have been pulled out of aluminum?

00:02:25Objects.

00:02:26Yes.

00:02:26It looks like a helicoil when you take the bolt out.

00:02:29Right.

00:02:29And you just...

00:02:30You just can peel it right out of those threads because it's a nice soft thing.

00:02:33That's why the threads are coarse in aluminum.

00:02:35For example, and very often in any casting, the end...

00:02:40of the stud that goes into the case is a coarse thread.

00:02:44And then...

00:02:45The nut itself could be a fine thread.

00:02:49It's so...

00:02:49There's...

00:02:50There's a lot there as ever.

00:02:51You know, your SAE threads, I think, what are they?

00:02:5360 degree...

00:02:54Yep.

00:02:55Sides.

00:02:55But then you go into your Whitworths and it's 55.5.

00:03:00And it's not 24 TPI threads per inch.

00:03:02It's 26 for cycle thread.

00:03:05Because that's exactly the number of threads we need.

00:03:09For what?

00:03:10I don't know, to not shake loose.

00:03:12And then there are buttress threads.

00:03:13All sorts of threads for...

00:03:15Special purposes.

00:03:17But here's the thing that...
