00:00When there's a fatality I was saying
00:05I need to establish how and why my fate was a killer.
00:11There's a patient breathing.
00:13Confirmed fatality.
00:15Still quite confusing at the minute.
00:161, take the box.
00:17You go to the driver.
00:18I'll go to the passenger.
00:20It's the same as a murder investigation.
00:22Your story was credible until you started telling lies.
00:25When collisions are fatal.
00:27You pronounce the disease.
00:29Oh, yeah.
00:30Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:31Or life-changing.
00:32Cut it for us.
00:33Yes, Chefs.
00:35The crash team is called in.
00:37We're dealing with the worst day of somebody's life.
00:40Split second.
00:41That's it.
00:42Everybody's life has changed.
00:43You only get one chance to cut.
00:45That's insane.
00:46Once that road's reopened, there's no going back.
00:48Police!
00:49You're under arrest.
00:50And there's no suspicion of causing death by the end as well.
00:51What?
00:52He knows very well what's happened here.
00:54The story doesn't step back.
00:55using forensic detective work the answers are there she's no

01:40collision investigation is very much like a jigsaw puzzle
01:45it's only at the end when you put the jigsaw together in its entirety that you fully understand
01:50what's happened in a collision
01:53if you're not passionate about
01:55investigations we deal with it's a really tough job to do

02:10Someone's just been knocked off the bike on the 857.
02:12She's a patient breather, Em.

02:17Is he breathing?
02:19He's breathing, Joe.
02:20Is the patient awake?
02:23Are you awake?
02:25He's not awake.
02:26No, he's not awake.
02:27No.
02:28Okay, does his breathing sound noisy?
02:30He's stop breathing.
02:31He's stop breathing.
02:32He's stop breathing.
02:33Okay.
02:36Right, tell me exactly what's happened.
02:38I can't come speeding up.
02:40And knocked him off his bike.
02:42And he's late in the middle of the road.
02:45There's an ambulance in the queue that's just put his lights on.
02:48I think it's coming up to us.
02:50Okay, I'm gonna do that.
02:51Are they with the patient now?
02:53See y'all, I guess.
02:54Yes.
02:55She's doing CPR.
02:56She's doing CPR.
02:57We're just getting a team leader coming.
02:59Okay.
03:00Alright.

04:05Just confirm, it just bounced up
04:07Er, we did a little
04:08Yeah
04:09Yeah, Roger
04:10Right, yeah
04:13With a suspected hit and run
04:15South Yorkshire crash investigator Joe Bill
04:18Finlay is called in
04:21We're on routes for a part of a er
04:23Failed to stop road traffic collision which has taken place on the A57 just off
04:28of the M1 motorway
04:29The reports are they've got a seriously injured
04:33Pedestrian at this time or cyclist we're not sure
04:36Who has been worked on by
04:38Ambulance staff
04:41Vehicle details
04:42Er, potentially
04:43A
04:44Golf

04:56That's actually er
04:57Collided
04:58With
04:59The cyclist
05:00And then Madoff
05:01Yes, yeah
05:02With a
05:03Description of the suspect car
05:05Control dispatches a force wide alert
05:08And then Madoff
05:09See how on er
05:10She's saying
05:11Possibly a clone
05:12That we aren't going to wear off
05:13Roger
05:14Roger
05:18There's a number of reasons why people decide not to stop at scenes of collisions
05:22There's a number of reasons why people decide not to stop at scenes of collisions
05:23Sometimes it is out of fear so they've driven off because they're scared of stopping or they've not stopped
05:28On purpose and it's an intentional act on their part of not stopping because they want to flee the scene
05:33Because there is something to hide from us
05:38As Joe responds, there's an update from this scene
05:41Just stop there
05:42Keep it
05:43Keep it

05:48It's pronounced extinct at 15.35pm.
05:53I'll show the time please.
05:5615.35pm.
05:5815.35pm.
06:03When people die, regardless of circumstances, we need to answer.
06:08The questions to the family of who, why and how.
06:13It's the same as a murder investigation.
06:18Yeah, just to confirm, this is now a fatal, fatality.
06:22Can I get the...
06:23My number for the coroners, please.
06:26Joe will now lead a manhub.
06:28It's a blunt for the casualty's killer.
06:31That's the only two...
06:34What have you seen, then?
06:36Basically, we're coming up here.
06:38We were coming to a stop because we were behind this front.
06:40Yeah.
06:41That's when I was seeing a fire pin there.
06:42I'm not a golf shoe.
06:43I think golf slowed down, then he shot, and he went that way.
06:47Yeah.
06:48That went up in...
06:49And then that just...
06:50That go away.
06:51Alright.
06:52That's fine.
06:54We've got two witnesses who were near to the traffic lights,
06:56at the time of the collision, and we know that...
06:58the deceased was believed crossing the road from the left-hand side
07:01into the central island.
07:02It's now...
07:03It's really important for us to start working and piecing together
07:05and confirming that vehicle and trying to locate it.
07:08and the driver of that vehicle.
07:10I'm just making sure that you're aware of that golf.
07:13that you've been with the vehicle.
07:15It's reacted to one of my what?
07:17Possibly.
07:18She died about probably an hour ago.
07:21Um...
07:22She might have sort of...
07:23Flash cam footage, which captured the identity of the driver
07:26that they thought was sustaining.
07:27Used to...
07:28And...
07:29So...
07:30Reports of a Golf R before the collision.
07:33Could provide key evidence for Joe.
07:38Dash cam CCTV is so crucial to our investigations now.
07:43Someone's version of events can always have a spin on what happens.
07:48Whereas a video doesn't lie.
07:50Technical data does not lie.
07:51Uh...
07:52Yeah, it will.
07:53We may...
07:54We think...
07:55It might be this club.
07:57They...
07:58The finding of this vehicle and the suspect is paramount importance.
08:01Not only for the evidence that the vehicle...
08:03Can give us...
08:04To assist us with the investigation into the collision.
08:06But also there's a risk to the public.
08:07We know how...
08:08How the vehicle's...
08:09Been driven.
08:10From witnesses.
08:11We know what it's just caused.
08:12To the deceased.
08:13So...
08:13So there's a risk to the public that it may do something of a similar nature.
08:16So it's crucial that we take the vehicle...
08:18Get the evidence from that vehicle and identify the suspects.
08:21Uh...
08:22I've not...
08:23Be made aware of this potential job.
08:24Just to keep an eye out on board her.
08:26And also...
08:27I know...
08:28AMPR were doing some kind of work.
08:30Uh...
08:31Have they managed to...
08:32Do anything yet?
08:33Police are checking automatic number plate recognition cameras for the...
08:38Gulf...
08:39That fled the scene.
08:40While we've been in process of securing the scene.
08:41While we've been in process of securing the scene.
08:43and closing the road, a number plate is being found at the bottom of the A57.
08:48On the roundabout itself, that number plate comes back to a golf.
08:53We've now got some CCTV footage of a golf with damage to the front.
08:58We've got a front end of it without a front number plate going round,
09:00Todwick roundabout, heading in towards Kiviton Park area.
09:03We've got a front end of it.
09:08It's now a matter of trying to...
09:13We've traced that vehicle to where it is at its current time.
09:18With forensic work underway at the scene, debris in the road may...
09:23They also provide a vital link to the golf.
09:28It's concerning that someone has been involved in such an incident like this.
09:33This one and showed disregard to anybody or anyone who's injured and left the scene.
09:38We've no reasonable reason why you would do that.
09:43Things do happen. Mistakes do get made.
09:46But then to leave someone...
09:48On the floor with no one around him...
09:50Is unacceptable.
09:52With Joe...
09:53And the forensic team leading the investigation, the hunt is on for the cyclist's killer.
10:03Mesmerim, the animal from the man.
10:05And he goes close to my family.
10:06We look crazy back, of course.
10:07We look like her a flag.
10:09We look down for a while.
10:10We look prある.
10:11We look in the excessive filters.
10:12I do not know the swamp here.
10:13Coal byssack has changed.
10:15Who has to run him when we operate.
10:16Let's look down to the zoo.
10:17Now there are people who are leading theito.
10:19That you have to think andaguion means we get to go lö
10:19but there is something from happening tomorrow
10:21and we make sure aboutいい.
10:24But you're looking forward to it today.
10:26One thought is running on hisems.
10:27One mentioned.
10:28That's right.
10:29Education is beautiful.
10:31Okay, so priorities from this point on then, Joe, in terms of where we are with that.
10:36CCTV footage has been found, showing the car speeding away.
10:41After the collision.
10:44Obviously, we're happy that we know it's the...
10:46the golf that we suspect it'd been, although on the false plates.
10:50South Yorkshire...
10:51The collision investigator Joe Binley is leading the case, and updates Inspector Matt.
10:56Collings.
10:58The footage that we've got from just after the collision at the bottom of the road.
11:01We've now established a number plate which falls off it, which we know...
11:06is being used on that vehicle.
11:09You can just see, as the vehicle tries to...
11:11push its way through traffic, trying to get away from the scene.
11:14The number plate fall in just to the line, so we're...
11:16satisfied that we know the vehicle.
11:18As well as showing the identity of the car, the...
11:21CCTV reveals other key evidence.
11:25When the vehicle then manages...
11:26squeeze its way onto the roundabout, you get the first clear view of the...
11:29damage to the front end of it.
11:31We can see the damage to the front bumper, the headlights...
11:36in the wing mirror.
11:41The police have intel that this car is regularly used by a pair of brothers who live...
11:46in neighbouring Derbyshire.
11:51Of course it's being used and obviously its no.
11:53just like to see one last 30 year.
11:54Theинуles of that ago willuss there.
11:56This car you go home.
11:57which may just due to a defensive point of the figure and technique which...
12:00has to use this.
12:01which more than expected,
12:02the very traversal and corrective potential...
12:04everyone would be allowed to HAVE THE AFTERN你要avier in K affected him.

16:11sort of a ferry top stairs
16:14they know police
16:16tactics
16:17so the reason that we needed to deal with these robustling quickly
16:21is that they were
16:21they will not hesitate in disposing of evidence
16:24they will not hesitate in trying
16:26to run
16:31I will get bored in upper range but any issues
16:36give us a call all right
16:37with both brothers under arrest
16:41police assess the evidence found at the first address
16:44by his bed
16:46where he's located
16:47found a VW key
16:49I can't see any VW parked outside at the moment
16:51obviously it's VW involved in the incident
16:54and the kill they matched
16:56with the vehicle to see if it is the same key for the vehicle
17:01there's another VW key in this address as well
17:04but it's a
17:05like a
17:06manual
17:09the keys could be vital in linking the
17:11brothers to the hit-and-run car
17:13just watch your steps mate
17:16these are one of the most serious incidents
17:21the police investigate
17:22it's on the same level of a homicide investigation
17:26in this collision
17:27the suspects are a true risk to the public
17:29so it's important that we
17:31investigated and prosecuted them to the full extent of the law
17:33to reduce that risk
17:36so I've just come to speak
17:41to the firearm sergeant that's enforced on this address
17:44Scott arrived
17:46to oversee the investigation at the second address
17:49there
17:51there is still no sign of the blue golf
17:56there
17:57it would be nice to get the car on now
17:58no
17:59what would be nice
18:00is
18:01as if one of those car keys
18:02either yours or ours
18:04because they're both needable keys
18:06we just need one of them to open the car then
18:08I think they've got enough help
18:10it's on the outside
18:11so
18:12yeah
18:13all you hope is that
18:14they've not put on the safari
18:16to burn it out
18:17or put it in a garage
18:18basically
18:19could be in a lock up somewhere
18:20couldn't it
18:21so
18:22yeah
18:23yeah
18:24yeah
18:25yeah
18:26the priority for us
18:27is
18:28not letting them get to the vehicle
18:30to
18:31burn it out
18:32destroy the evidence
18:34before we get to it
18:35and
18:36we can get our forensic teams onto it
18:38and
18:39we can get our forensic teams onto it
18:41with the two brothers now in custody
18:43the clock is ticking to
18:46to prove who was driving
18:49investigators scott and joe
18:51need to gather enough evidence for a charge
18:53before the suspects are released
18:56and
18:59we've got the two lads
19:00but we've not
19:01got the car
19:02and we've really got that
19:03that 24 hours
19:05whilst there
19:06in custody with us to try and locate that vehicle the first priority
19:11to continue the tracking of that vehicle and to hopefully find it nearby so
19:16this is to feel leaders to where it's parked up now and then we can get that vehicle recovered
19:21examinations of that vehicle both mechanically and forensically for inside which we'll be able to
19:26place the driver and the suspect in that vehicle
19:31real racing time to try and get to the vehicle before two suspects get back
19:36to it themselves
19:41so
19:46hey mate how are you
19:4924 hours after the arrest of
19:51the two brothers scott receives an update from south yorkshire
19:55hey just
19:56they've been interviewed um and they're gonna get bailed shortly
20:00i'm nude
20:01with no trace of the vw golf
20:06officers are forced to let the men go
20:09our task is also they make it to try
20:11find my car
20:13trying to get the word out because i was in my vehicle
20:16it's just a bit their i think their main goal is to destroy that car
20:21it's so frustrating they're going to get bailed but evidentially what have we got
20:35you
20:26it's always frustrating when you know you're so close to something but you're not
20:31close enough we only have a finite amount of time we can deal with someone in custody so it was
20:36decision to release them with strict bail conditions to keep an eye on them so we know where they are
20:41with the brothers out on bail the race
20:46the race is now on to find the missing golf
20:51and the missing coin
21:03the missing coin
21:07the missing coin
20:56Oh
21:01Oh
21:06Oh
21:08Oh
21:10Oh
21:11Oh
21:13Oh
21:15Oh
21:17Oh
21:19Oh

21:16Graham Slyner was killed in this devastating collision.
21:21Graham Slyner was a man who was just about to celebrate his wedding anniversary with his wife.
21:26He had a son, a daughter and grandchildren, and although retired, was fit.
21:31As we know, a cyclist, still had so many more years left to live.
21:36Some of the members have now got to come to terms with the loss of Graham
21:39in such devastating circumstances.
21:41I met Graham.
21:45Ooh.
21:4664 years ago when I was only 15 and we were cycling all the time.
21:51Because he was in Sheffield Racing Club and I was in the bait and wheelers.
21:56When I saw him, I knew that's what I wanted.
22:02We got married in 1965 and we've been together ever since.
22:05So...
22:06I thought he must have worked in our favour.
22:09He was very friendly.
22:11I mean, he could go anywhere and find somebody to talk to.
22:15It was a very out...
22:16Not going...
22:17Chattery box.
22:21So...
22:22Changed my life totally.
22:24Changed my life totally.
22:26It's just such a shock. Just, yeah.
22:29Just not expected at all.
22:31I'm not expecting to have another few years together.
22:34Doing things, making more memories.
22:36But we're gone.
22:41The most challenging part of the job is that we're dealing with...
22:46Someone's life's been cut short and lost unexpectedly.
22:50No build-up to it.
22:51Someone going about their normal daily business, doing nothing wrong at all.
22:55And someone...
22:56Someone else's actions has caused their death.
22:59I don't know what I felt.
23:01I just...
23:01I just could have screamed, really.
23:03I felt so helpless.
23:06You think...
23:06That shouldn't have happened.
23:08It should not have happened.
23:09Yeah.
23:10I never want that for tonight.
23:11It should have happened again.
23:12No, it's horrible.
23:16You're thinking about it.
23:20There's absolutely...
23:21There's absolutely awful.
23:22There's absolutely awful.
23:22There's absolutely awful.
23:26There's always...
23:30This is where we...
23:31with the footage then four days after the collision there's still no sign of the
23:36suspects car but there is a breakthrough we've done a lot of extensive tracking and we now
23:41know it goes in towards the killer marsh area Joe's collected a large amount of
23:46CCTV and dash cam footage showing the movements of the golf before and
23:51after the collision so we've got the full timeline now then yeah so we've got a time
23:56line starting from 10 a.m. on the morning of the collision the 4th of April
24:01the footage is vital evidence to prove which of the brothers was driving
24:06it's one thing getting the vehicle but it's trying to put that driver in the driver's seat
24:11so we know that Kane leaves his address via his tag about 10 o'clock
24:16and then some movement with the golf in the morning of the 4th
24:21and through to the early afternoon before the collision where and
24:26they ended up in Rother Valley Country Park and we can see into the vehicle
24:31very slightly through the summary of the vehicle
24:36Joe's identified 20 year old Kane Byrne the younger of the two brothers
24:41as the driver it all goes to show lights and Kane being the driver
24:46rather than his brother even though we know he's within the vehicle and we can see that
24:51they use still using the cloned plates on it so they've been on this vehicle all day
24:56and then they've left Rother Valley back in towards Killamarsh it then ends up back towards the age
25:0157 where we start picking the dash cam up of the vehicle heading towards the cliff
25:06collision site and we've then got the footage where the collision has now happened
25:11and they've continued
25:16dash cam from another car and more CC
25:21ATV clearly show the blue gulf speeding away from the pedestrian crossing
25:26with smoke coming from it.
25:31Followed by the aftermath.
25:36We've then got the footage where we've already looked at.
25:40The number plate coming out.
25:41Yeah, absolutely.
25:42But then it turns right and it goes towards the hearty layer.
25:46And we can clearly see now at this point,
25:48that the front number plate's missing.
25:49We can also see the damage to the...
25:51the front of the car.
25:52And we can also see the driver holding in his...
25:56hand a yellow balloon.
25:58Balloons are often used to inhale nitrous oil.
26:01Oxide or laughing gas.
26:03It's illegal for recreational use.
26:06It wasn't just a one-off thing.
26:07This was a continued use of balloons and nitrous oxide.
26:11throughout the course of the day, which seems to be proven,
26:13which can only make your driving worse.
26:16And then travels along Ekington Way to...
26:21towards the Waterthorpe area.
26:22Then enters into Waterthorpe on Harwood.
26:26Drive.
26:27And this is all post-collision?
26:28Yeah.
26:29So this is...
26:30the last bit of footage we're up to is about...
26:3128 minutes post-collision.
26:33And we were still working on where that vehicle...
26:36then goes from that point.
26:37We'll carry on with the CCTV tracking.
26:40And...
26:41start doing street-by-street searches...
26:42to see if we can locate the vehicle.
26:44Okay.
26:46CCTV evidence linking the brothers to the blue golf is stacking up.
26:50But...
26:51police still need to find the car.
26:56You?
26:57No.
26:58No.
26:59No.
27:00No.
27:01No.
27:01Transcription by CastingWords
27:06at the roundabout in a minute first exit
27:11it's this way it's day six of the case and the brothers
27:16still out on bail
27:20if we've got any
27:21traffic able to assist
27:22vehicle's been abandoned
27:24Derbyshire police has
27:26received a call from a member of the public about the whereabouts of the blue
27:30golf
27:31we were on nights when we assisted our colleagues from south yorkshire police
27:36looking up some offenders for a fatal incident
27:38outstanding was a golf art
27:41police hope the car will provide crucial DNA evidence

27:56Joe is en route to the vehicle from Sheffield.
28:01along with a forensic investigator.
28:06to put that vehicle to the scene.
28:08CCTV is brilliant and shows what
28:11we needed to show we know the
28:13registration of that vehicle and
28:15it's crucial that if it is
28:16that vehicle that we need to get
28:17there as soon as possible to secure it
28:19and to get as much evidence we can from it.
28:21I imagine it's down there because it's police tape.
28:26So, let's get started.
28:27Let's get started.
28:31You
28:36You
28:41It would have been a very nice car
28:46As you can see
28:47It's got extensive damage to it
28:50It's going to be quite difficult to get
28:51Any forensics because it's melted
28:53And been destroyed from obviously the fire
28:55And the water that
28:56The fire service use
28:57Despite the car being destroyed
29:01Your cap looks like it's out
29:03Does it?
29:05A forensic officer
29:06Arrives to photograph and collect evidence
29:11Well, the fact that that's been removed
29:14It didn't mean that it was there
29:15It takes time
29:16Well, they put a rag in or something
29:17Because
29:18You'd have thought
29:19If that was the origin of the fire
29:21Then that rubber would have gone
29:23Yeah
29:24But the back doesn't look
29:26It's damaged, does it?
29:27Compared to the front
29:28Joe and Scott
29:31Are now at the scene
29:32Are these suspects?
29:33Yeah
29:33But they're arrested
29:35Yeah
29:35Any draw?
29:36Yeah
29:37Yeah
29:37He's got a
29:38I can't remember which one
29:40It's got a massive
29:41Big gold chain
29:42Looks like a dog chain
29:43Yeah
29:43Like down to his
29:44Because all we've done
29:45Is his belt
29:46The fuck
29:46Right
29:46Okay
29:47And they've both got
29:48Like diamonds in it
29:50Yeah
29:50Okay
29:50Yeah
29:51So it may seem disappointing
29:56That
29:56The vehicle's been burnt out
29:57And yes
29:57We have lost
29:58Some of our internal
29:59Forensic work
30:00However
30:00The
30:01Didn't
30:01Hence
30:02To the
30:02Front
30:03Passenger
30:03The wing
30:04And the bonnet
30:05And
30:06On the roof
30:07Are all very much consistent
30:08With that damage
30:10That we've seen
30:10Throughout
30:11On the scene
30:11DCTV
30:12So although
30:13We might have lost
30:14Forensic evidence
30:14In terms of DNA
30:15And fibre
30:16And that type
30:17Of evidence
30:18And we can still say
30:19With a lot of confidence
30:21That that
30:21Vehicle
30:22Is the vehicle
30:23Involved in that collision
30:25That'd be interesting
30:27Do you reckon
30:28You get any
30:29DNA
30:29Anything off of
30:30This
30:30The officers
30:31Spot a towing strap
30:33Attached to a tree
30:34And the
30:35Car
30:35Because we've clearly
30:36Put that on
30:36To stop the car
30:38Rolling down
30:38Will it be
30:40In a rope
30:40There's been
30:41Friction on it
30:42When they've been
30:42Pulling it
30:43And that can also
30:43Result in
30:44Cellulity
30:45DNA being transferred
30:46Onto the exhibit
30:46And hopefully
30:48We'll be able
30:48To get something
30:49From that
30:50Because we've now
30:51We've got
30:51Two crimes
30:52Someone's brought
30:53That vehicle
30:53Here
30:53And someone's
30:54Set fire
30:54To that vehicle
30:55So
30:55So
30:55I hope
30:56That we'll be able
30:57To get something
30:57From that strap
30:58To be able
30:59To say
30:59Who's
31:00That vehicle
31:00While the
31:04Forensics
31:04Officer
31:05Continues
31:05To look
31:06For evidence
31:06Even though
31:08It's filling tight
31:09It's still
31:09Getting a bit
31:10Off it
31:10Then
31:10Joe and Scott
31:12Spot something
31:13Else
31:15Do you think
31:17It could've been
31:17Dropped off
31:18On a low load
31:18It may
31:20Point to a bigger
31:20Conspiracy
31:21To cover
31:22The suspect's
31:22Tracks
31:25That's perfectly
31:25Positioned
31:26For a recovery
31:27Truck
31:27To be part
31:27Yeah
31:27You can see
31:28You can see
31:28You can see
31:28You can see
31:29Do you know
31:29When the
31:30When the
31:30Better
31:30The roller
31:31Goes down
31:31It's not
31:32Rolling right
31:32It does
31:33That
31:33Doesn't
31:33It
31:35Scratch
31:35It
31:35Scratch
31:36Us
31:36There
31:36It's
31:37Not
31:37Possible
31:38That
31:38Vehicle
31:38Has
31:39Been
31:39There
31:40Since
31:40The
31:40Time
31:40Of
31:40The
31:41Offence
31:41So
31:42It's
31:42Clearly
31:42Been
31:42Taken
31:42On
31:42A low
31:43Loader
31:43And
31:44Dumped
31:44At
31:44That
31:45Location
31:45Where
31:45It's
31:45Been
31:46Burnt
31:46Out
31:46That's
31:47Fresh
31:48No
31:48That's
31:48Fresh
31:48Of course
31:49You can see
31:49Where
31:49The mud
31:49Is
31:50Some
31:50Scrape
31:50Markings
31:51On
31:51The
31:51Road
31:51Which
31:52Could
31:52Be
31:52Consistent
31:53With
31:53A
31:53Bed
31:53Of
31:53A
31:53Truck
31:54Going
31:54On
31:54The
31:54Road
31:55So
31:55Again
31:55I'm
31:55Going
31:56To
31:56Be
31:56Asking
31:56For
31:56Any
31:57Sort
31:57Of
31:58Paint
31:58Transfer
31:58Any
31:59Marks
31:59Anything
31:59Like
31:59That
32:00Which
32:00Might
32:00Have
32:00Been
32:00Used
32:01Just
32:01So
32:01We
32:02Can
32:02Try
32:02And
32:02Identify
32:02What
32:02Has
32:03Been
32:03Used
32:03To
32:03Move
32:03That
32:03Vehicle
32:04To
32:04Where
32:04It
32:04Is
32:04Now
32:05To
32:07Police
32:07Think
32:08That
32:08After
32:08Their
32:08Release
32:09It
32:10Was
32:10Arranged
32:10For
32:10The
32:11Golf
32:11To
32:11Be
32:11Taken
32:11To
32:12Its
32:12Current
32:12Location
32:13And
32:14Torched
32:15There
32:15There's
32:15Been
32:15Some
32:16Real
32:16Thought
32:17As

32:49Hopefully, there's forensic opportunities on the car they've got.
32:54A lot more CCTV, just all little pieces of the jigsaw.
32:59That are coming together nicely to close the net on these two individuals.
33:04The important thing for us to focus on is that there's a victim, a victim.
33:09That all need justice for what is a horrendous fail to stop incident.
33:14Justice is, if someone is at fault, then go into court and they'll...
33:19...to the full extent of the law and being able to provide that closure to the family.
33:24Not only that, someone was at fault for this collision and they have been dealt with.
33:29When this all happened...
33:34...it was on a run that we did on a regular basis.
33:37She did exactly what she should do.
33:39He got off his back, he waited till traffic lights had turned red.
33:43There was nothing...
33:44...he could have done.
33:45Because he didn't know that there was going to be a nutcase come past.
33:49And straight through the traffic lights...
33:51...off his head.
33:52And what my...
33:54...main...
33:55...concern at the time was, was...
33:59...did he suffer?
34:00You don't know?
34:01I don't know.
34:02Were it instant...
34:04That's the only comfort I've got, that he didn't know anything about it, wouldn't have known anything about it.
34:09It would have been a split second of absolute terror.
34:12Yeah, it would.
34:14I have been out on my back.
34:19Since he's gone, and it was so not very good.
34:24Because I'd never be now.
34:29I've been out for a long, long time without him on my back.
34:32I mean, we never went out even with dogs.
34:34We just did everything together.
34:36And it's been so hard to...
34:39It's been so hard.
34:44I mean, I'm not gonna be out.
34:45I mean, I could not be out.
34:46I mean, I could not be out.
34:48I mean, I could not be out.

35:04Police
35:04One week after 81-year-old Graham Slynn was killed
35:09In a hit and run near Sheffield
35:10They're not going to stop to put in prison these two idiots
35:13A joint
35:14Investigation by South Yorkshire and Derbyshire police
35:17Has identified Cain Burns
35:19As the suspected driver
35:24So obviously we suspect that it's the Burns who are driving the vehicle
35:29We're obviously working in an area where they're known to hang around
35:33And where they used to live before
35:34Moving over into Derbyshire area
35:35After further CCTV searches
35:38There's no
35:39Another breakthrough in the case
35:40Crash investigator Joe Binley update
35:44It's inspector Matt Collings
35:45About where the gulf went after the collision
35:49We found the address purely by the CCTV tracking
35:51We've got it going down the first street
35:53And then going
35:54Going into this cul-de-sac
35:55The CCTV is crucial
35:57It's an address that's linked to the bin
35:58It's an address that's linked to the bin
35:59The address where the vehicle's been parked at is
36:02Footage shows the blue gulf reversing
36:04Up the cul-de-sac
36:05And parking on a driveway
36:06Just 15 minutes after the collision
36:09It's that first opportunity where we can see the rear number plate is the same number plate
36:14Is that what was being
36:15Was found on the street
36:16Crucially
36:18The footage
36:19It shows who
36:20Was driving
36:21We see Cain
36:23Get out of the
36:24The front driver's seat
36:26And walked round to the front of the vehicle
36:28And his first thought is
36:29see a piece of it inspecting the damage to his vehicle.
36:32What we do see as well is when
36:34his brother gets out of the front passenger seat,
36:36the door doesn't open fully because of the damage to it.
36:39And then we see Cain trying to rub off a mark from the roof of the vehicle.
36:44With this new evidence, Joe and his team are confident.
36:49They have enough to re-arrest the brothers.
36:54Okay, this interview has been ordered.
36:59They are audio and visually recorded
37:01and may be given in evidence if your case is brought to trial.
37:0420-year-old Cain Byrne has been re-arrested for further questioning.
37:0981-year-old Graham Slynne was struck by a VW Golf at 50...
37:1415-15 hours whilst crossing the A57 and died at the scene.
37:19We now believe that you are the driver of that VW Golf.
37:24In as much detail as you can, please...
37:29tell me about your involvement in the death of Graham Slynne.
37:32Welcome.
37:35Are you responsible for the death of Graham Slynne?
37:38No, come on.
37:39I want to show you some CCTV...
37:44I will explain it as we go through.
37:47Prior to the hit and run...
37:49Witnesses report seeing a blue Golf driving at high speed through a red light.
37:54This describes that Golf travelling at speed, approaching a crossing...
37:59It did not slow...
38:00It didn't falter...
38:01It didn't falter...
38:02It didn't falter...
38:03They then...
38:04It didn't falter...
38:05To see a mail and a bike, are being launched into the air.
38:09The golf hits this mail and sends this mail.
38:14At least 15 feet into the air.
38:17Are you aware of that?
38:19No coming.
38:20Are you the mail responsible for that?
38:22No coming.
38:24The CCTV footage shows the cyclist lying on the ground just seconds after that.
38:29The collision and the blue golf speeding away.
38:34The car then arrived.
38:39It arrives 10 miles away at the address linked to the brothers.
38:44You can see here the VW has now pulled onto the driveway.
38:50Do you recognize any of these people?
38:53No coming.
38:54Are you one of those people on that CCTV?
38:56No coming.
38:57Is this mail here in this blue tree?
38:59Is this a black suit?
39:00Kind of inspecting some damage to the roof.
39:02Is that you?
39:05No coming.
39:06No coming.
39:07No coming.
39:08No coming.
39:09The...
39:09The damage is from the collision with the cyclist.
39:15Covering this car up.
39:16Is that something that would normally be done?
39:18Or is this only...
39:19It's only being done because of what has just happened.
39:24No coming.
39:25No coming.
39:26Police suspect that soon after covering the car up...
39:29It was taken away and hidden.
39:31Have you got anything you want to say about those clips of footage that you've...
39:34now seen?
39:35No coming.
39:37Further CCTV reveals...
39:39There's more evidence.
39:40It shows the plates being changed the morning before the hit and run.
39:44Typically, this is done to hide criminal activity.
39:49And other footage appears to show the driver in...
39:54inhaling laughing gas from a balloon immediately before and after the collision.
39:59the collision.
40:00You can clearly see that...
40:04that the males that you're present with are
