00:00Today I'm interviewing one of the most defining figures from the last quarter century of celebrity
00:05history a true icon Paris Hilton and I started our careers around the same
00:10time in the two thousands I wrote about her in the pages of the magazines I've worked for she was the
00:15original influencer as the socialite queen of the nightlife with the famous last name
00:20after a very public betrayal involving a leaked sex tape Paris did something people did
00:25expect she leveraged her notoriety and built a ground-breaking reality show
00:30an entertainment empire that she estimates to be worth one billion dollars today
00:35she's a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur with ventures in music fashion skincare and even
00:40as 30 fragrances and for many people the idea of Paris Hilton still comes
00:45up someone impossibly unrelatable wrapped in luxury and privilege she's the last
00:50person you'd imagine to be just like us but in recent years Paris has evolved beyond
00:55just being a successful businesswoman she's become more vulnerable and opened up to tell her full
01:00story and what was really going on behind the glitter and glamour in doing so she's made
01:05valuable contributions to the world in a 2020 documentary this is Paris she told her how
01:10the following story of being sent off to Utah's Provo Canyon School and became an advocate for
01:15survivors of the troubled teen industry leading to the passing of legislation reform she also
01:20uses her platform to talk about the misogynistic treatment of women in media and her charity
01:25work including launching funds for wildlife relief and is a vocal advocate for animals
01:30in public health and and others not particularlyincred on gender Mori and the various experts in
01:31the world in India for human rights and society also has a full response to the
01:32virtual network and the many people in their global states live around the world in
01:33the world in the world in the world.
01:34So thank you for your support and what we will be able to give you,
01:35and you can get the opportunity to thank you for a significant part of your age,
01:36to take a new life for financial support and all of your support and all of your support
01:37so when you can add some money into your support for the worst,
01:38I can never forget you to come up with it
01:39so thank you a lot so thank you for your support and all your support.
01:41Thank you for your support for the assignment,
01:41so thank you for all your support and all the community if I don't
01:43can make you feel I'm so grateful for funding and all of the
01:43and setbacks that reveal she may just be just like us today we'll dive
01:48deep into her life and her documentary Infinite Icon a visual memoir and a set
01:53how just like us is Paris Hilton
01:58so do you have a room for 10,000 sunglasses?
02:03I have lots of sunglasses and that was at my other house that I just moved into
02:08so this house has my glam room and it has my 10,000 sunglasses in it
02:13so I like to start at my interviews with a little ritual about something personal about the
02:18person and I was so dumbfounded that you have 30 perfumes I asked your team
02:23to send me some so that we could test them so tell me about this one
02:27this is my
02:2830th fragrance and it's called Iconic and it is so
02:33beautiful it has like this
02:34it really it's the rose tint I love rose
02:36yes
02:37it's like peony
02:38raspberry rose those are some of the notes
02:43and it's just like it has this just like very light some
02:48bright gorgeous and I feel like men and women could both wear it
02:52I would
02:53I wear rose tip tones and sometimes what
02:56I love it
02:57if you've got 30
02:58perfumes how do you decide what to wear in the morning?
03:01I just
03:03it's kind of like what mood I'm in
03:04I love that I have one literally for like every day of the month because there's 30
03:08and do you only wear your own?
03:09yes
03:10I've not worn another person's perfume since I was a little
03:13girl
03:14but it's such a dream because when I was a little girl I would
03:16always go into my mom's wardrobe and I
03:18she collects perfumes and my sister and I would be playing with all of them
03:21and I was like mom one day I'm gonna have my
03:23own perfume so now to have just released my 30th is just another dream come true
03:28well it's not just like us to have 30 perfumes but they are quite reasonable right?
03:32what a surprise point
03:33yes
03:33these are at Ulta Beauty and for the size this one's 80
03:37so we're here
03:38here in your craft room and this helps your ADHD right?
03:41it does
03:43this is like if you looked inside my mind what it looks like
03:47I feel like the camera can
03:48you can't see it all like the top with the rainbow and the butterflies the clouds like
03:53it feels like a dream and when I walk in here with the kids like we have so much fun doing art and
03:58just hanging out and
04:00it's also my office I love being able to look out the window and
04:03you can see like my 11-11 office and the waterfall and the
04:08just beautiful backyard and all of it just
04:11it's your safe space
04:13yeah it just literally looks like when I was little I would make like mood boards and
04:18like manifest what I wanted in life I really like this is what it was
04:22and crafting gives
04:23that safety as well
04:24I love it
04:25well you're we're here in your home it's absolutely
04:28beautiful it's Beverly Hills it is not quite just like us but it is very unapologetic
04:33basically you are there any elements of just like us around the house are there like
04:38piles of unfolded laundry as their dishes fill in the sink
04:43I feel like it's just like any other family's house with kids you know there's toys everywhere
04:48there's of course like the laundry room as a laundry
04:52but then also we have
04:53we have like a water slide and like the pink tennis court and all the other fun
04:58things it's like the ultimate fun house like I feel like this is like the house I dream
05:03of since I was a little girl
05:04so it's fabulous but it's relatable and family just like everybody
05:08else just like regular folks and I think that's what your new documentary really
05:13shows as well it's an exploration into the human side of you that just like our side of you
05:18because it shows your life as a music icon and it marries that with the vulnerable
05:23ability of what you've gone through behind the stardust and the glitter
05:28it says I am human like what do you want people to take away from the doctor
05:33I feel that this is really like a third part of a trilogy like the
05:38first time I really opened up and you know show people who I was was through
05:43my first documentary this is Paris and then going even deeper through my memoir
05:48and now in this part with infinite icon it's like my whole
05:53life through the lens of music and just going back you know from
05:58the beginning from since I was a little girl and all these dreams that I had but then just go
06:03and going into so much more because I feel like within these past five years I've just been
06:08on this whole journey of self-discovery and just learning something
06:13so much and healing so much and just so much has happened so I just wanted to show
06:18that story and I feel like it's also a story that others can relate to as well
06:23so I've talked through lots of those different points on there but to start with the music I loved seeing you
06:28on the stage and so happy and it being such a fulfilling journey how does it feel
06:33to be up there when you're performing that concert when I'm on stage it feels like the most
06:38incredible magical feeling in the world just seeing everyone in the audience so
06:43happy and excited and screaming and crying and singing along and dancing
06:48and just the energy and love in the room is like another level and
06:53when I'm up there I just feel like this is what I was born to do it's funny because I've followed
06:58your career and worked with you and covered your career for so long and I never
07:03realized that music was the pure love and so like it
07:08made me wonder watching the documentary do you feel that becoming
07:13famous before you explored music hampered your ability to become a pop star quicker
07:18yeah I do I think that just you know from doing the simple life like a reality show
07:23I think anyone who does reality and then if they go into music you're just not going to be taken
07:28seriously and especially during the early 2000s when just the media
07:33was just extremely cruel to young women in the industry
07:38so it was always really hurtful to me because it was just such a
07:43dream of mine you know ever since I couldn't remember what I'd love to do since I was literally like three
07:48years old like I just always wanted to be a pop star but I just felt
07:53that my music didn't get the chance that it deserved because the media was controlling
07:58everything back there and now today with social media I'm actually able to hear what
08:03the fans and people really think so and you can control your own narrative
08:06and have your own voice
08:08well I was a part of that media at the time I don't think I was mean to you but I would like to apologize
08:13but have you got any questions for me about like at that time covering the media and how unfair it was
08:18like for you I'm sure just being in the newsroom
08:23like were you ever pressured for them to try to make you do or say
08:28things that you felt like uncomfortable asking like you felt like it was going too far sometimes
08:33I think
08:33I think there were times when there were stories where I look back and I'm
08:38like why did they take that direction and it
08:43and it hasn't worked differently
08:46that way
08:47that brain was better
08:49Esmond
08:50I think
08:51I think
08:52my
08:54I think
08:56I think
08:57I believe media reflects society and society was mean
09:00It
09:02done better in recent years.
09:03And I hope you find that as well.
09:06Definitely.
09:07I know that.
09:07So many of the things, you know, the way that myself and other girls were treated back
09:12then would not.
09:12If it happened today, it would not be accepted.
09:14So at least it's changed for other people.
09:16So I think that's like this.
09:17You had to go for a lot of pain to get there.
09:20A big theme from the documentary is Music Saving.
09:22You're living your life.
09:23Tell me how that worked for you.
09:25Just, you know, just.
09:27Just from going through so many traumatic experiences as a teenager and.
09:32You know, it was just so painful and traumatizing and.
09:37When I got out of those boarding schools, I just remember like when I was.
09:42Go out at night.
09:43It was like the one thing that I would just forget about all the pain and just like lose
09:47myself.
09:47And the music and I just have so much fun.
09:49And I just felt like this whole community or I just felt so.
09:52Accepted and no one was judgmental.
09:54It was just.
09:55All about having.
09:57Having an incredible time and.
09:58Just, I don't know.
09:59I just, I love music.
10:00I love to dance.
10:01I love the.
10:02lights.
10:03I love the people.
10:04The escapism.
10:05Yeah.
10:06You've been through.
10:07Thank you so much.
10:08And you touched on some of it there.
10:09What has been the hardest thing to recover?
10:12From you've dealt with sexual abuse as a kid.
10:14Provo school, the sex tape, the media treatment.
10:17What was that?
10:18What's been the hardest thing to heal from?
10:20Do you think?
10:21Hmm.
10:22Hmm.
10:23All of it.
10:24You know, I think these are things that will definitely affect me.
10:27for the rest of my life, but especially being in these schools, which.
10:32My parents were told it was called emotional growth boarding schools.
10:36And.
10:37They were sold a lie.
10:38These places are so manipulative and they're marketing tech.
10:42Everything.
10:43They had brochures where kids were smiling and.
10:45There was like rainbows and people were.
10:47Riding horses and everyone looks so happy.
10:49But what happened behind closed doors was a completely different.
10:52situation.
10:53And.
10:54It was terrifying just to be around these adults who.
10:57Were literally abusing all of us in so many ways.
11:00And.
11:01Um.
11:02It.
11:03It's just.
11:04It took many years for me to even talk about it.
11:07It was so traumatizing where it took me, you know, 20 years to even tell anyone.
11:11Um.
11:12Why do you think that was, there was a shame attached to it?
11:15Definitely.
11:16And I think that's.
11:17So.
11:17A way they get away with it, where they shame the kids in these places so much where they're.
11:22And.
11:23We.
11:24We.
11:25We're just too embarrassed and scared to talk about it.
11:27And.
11:27It was just so.
11:28The things that happened were just so like.
11:30Crazy.
11:31It just.
11:32It.
11:32You wouldn't feel like anyone would believe you.
11:34Or.
11:35And.
11:36You're kind of.
11:37Go.
11:37Into.
11:38Being told you're a bad kid.
11:39This is why you're here.
11:40Yeah.
11:41And it just.
11:42It was just.
11:42It's horrible what they do in these places.
11:44And plus they get away with it because they can say to the parents.
11:47You know.
11:48Oh.
11:49They're.
11:50They're bad kids.
11:51They're lying.
11:52They're manipulating and they're trying to.
11:53You know.
11:52Go home.
11:53So they're going to say that we're abusing them.
11:54They're going to say this.
11:55They kind of tell the parents.
11:56What they're actually.
11:57Doing in there.
11:58But they say that the kids are lying.
11:59And of course.
12:00If you're sending your child to a place and.
12:02You think they're going to be protected.
12:04And you have no idea.
12:05The type of people that work at these places.
12:07It's.
12:08You know.
12:09A recipe for disaster.
12:10I mean.
12:11I read some of.
12:12In your memoir.
12:12Saying that.
12:13You were encouraged to verbally abuse each other.
12:15And then hug each other.
12:16Afterwards.
12:17But how do you untangle mental abuse like that?
12:20It's.
12:21It just.
12:22I don't understand.
12:22It blows my mind.
12:23How.
12:24They think that that's therapy.
12:25And when you go into a place.
12:26And you.
12:27Come out more traumatized.
12:28Than when you went in.
12:29Did it make you.
12:30Scared of therapy.
12:31After that.
12:32Yeah.
12:33I've never had therapy after that.
12:34You've never had therapy after that.
12:35Because.
12:36It made me not trust anyone.
12:37Especially.
12:38People.
12:39Like therapists.
12:40Because I just thought they were all.
12:41Those type of people.
12:42And.
12:43Um.
12:44It was just.
12:45A neat.
12:46Now being.
12:47A mom.
12:48It just makes me even more.
12:49Just.
12:50Upset.
12:51And that's why.
12:52I just want to continue fighting.
12:52And using my voice.
12:53To make a difference for these kids.
12:54Because.
12:55Nobody has believed them.
12:56And so.
12:57Many years.
12:58Until.
12:59I've told my story.
13:00And now it's started.
13:01An entire movement.
13:02So.
13:02It's just.
13:03Um.
13:04It's been so difficult.
13:05Especially for my mom.
13:06And dad to hear.
13:07About these things.
13:08Because they had no idea.
13:09The forgiveness.
13:10Like even though.
13:11They were tricked.
13:12The forgiveness.
13:12Process.
13:13For you.
13:14With them.
13:15Must have been.
13:16So difficult.
13:17Because I knew.
13:17I had no idea.
13:18Because that's.
13:19None of the parents knew.
13:20That this was happening.
13:21And.
13:22It's been.
13:23Yeah.
13:24It's been like.
13:25A whole.
13:26My mom.
13:27Has just been.
13:27So sad.
13:28Just to hear.
13:29What has happened.
13:30And she's been coming.
13:31With me.
13:32To deal.
13:32To see.
13:33To help speak.
13:34With the other parents.
13:35And.
13:36To let them know.
13:37Her story as well.
13:37Because it's important.
13:38For other families to know.
13:39Because I feel like.
13:40The parents are just as much.
13:41The victim.
13:42The victims in this.
13:43Well thank you.
13:44For using your voice for good.
13:46It's been.
13:47About.
13:48The most meaningful work of my life.
13:49Like.
13:50When I was a little girl.
13:51I would have.
13:52Never.
13:52I.
13:53No idea that one day.
13:54I would be.
13:55Testifying in Congress.
13:56And would have passed.
13:5715 state laws.
13:59And passed.
14:00Two federal bills.
14:01To protect children.
14:02And so.
14:03It makes it all worth it.
14:04That I'm able.
14:05To help that.
14:06From happening to others.
14:07You should be proud.
14:08Proud.
14:09So.
14:10Instead of.
14:11Traditional therapy.
14:12Music's been.
14:12Something that really.
14:13Has helped you escape.
14:14And to disassociate.
14:15With a lot of the pain.
14:16And the healing.
14:17What.
14:17What.
14:18Do you think.
14:19Would have happened.
14:20If you didn't have music.
14:21To help you.
14:22I don't know.
14:22I think.
14:23Out of thinking.
14:24Of everything in my life.
14:25Like music.
14:26Art.
14:27And music.
14:28Are the things.
14:29That helped me so much.
14:30And.
14:31Even through doing.
14:32This documentary.
14:33Of just seeing.
14:34Like the power.
14:35In music.
14:36And like.
14:37Even the power.
14:37Like listening.
14:38To a lyric.
14:39In a song.
14:40Like something that could.
14:41Change your mood.
14:42Or even.
14:43Change your life.
14:42And.
14:43Just so many of my fans.
14:44Have come up to me.
14:45And said.
14:46Thank you so much.
14:47For your album.
14:47It saved my life.
14:48Like.
14:49Thank you for your memoir.
14:50You have no idea.
14:51How much it means to me.
14:52So just to see.
14:53Like the impact.
14:54It could make.
14:55On someone's life.
14:56And.
14:57I love that.
14:57I'm able now.
14:58To have these concerts.
14:59And create these.
15:00Safe spaces.
15:01Where my fans can come.
15:02And.
15:02Dress up.
15:03However they want to.
15:04Wear.
15:05Like these outfits.
15:06And have so much fun.
15:07And just.
15:07Lose their self.
15:08In my music.
15:09And.
15:10Have the most incredible night.
15:11And forget about anything.
15:12Bad that's happening.
15:13In their life.
15:14What's.
15:15What's the darkest moment.
15:16You've been through.
15:17Was it in.
15:17Both.
15:18Yes.
15:19Just the.
15:20Things that.
15:21Happened to those places.
15:22Should never happen.
15:23To anyone.
15:24And especially.
15:25Not a child.
15:26And.
15:27Just being terrified.
15:29Every single day.
15:30Of like.
15:31What was going to happen next.
15:32And then.
15:33Having severe nightmares.
15:34About it.
15:35For.
15:36You know.
15:3720 years.
15:38Until I started telling my story.
15:39Were there moments.
15:40Where you didn't want.
15:41To be here anymore.
15:42And.
15:43When I was in there.
15:44I was.
15:45It felt.
15:46Everyone.
15:47I felt.
15:47That way.
15:48Like.
15:49You just.
15:50Was like.
15:51It would be better.
15:52Not to live.
15:53Than being in these.
15:52Types.
15:53Places.
15:54Um.
15:55But.
15:56It did make me really.
15:57Very strong.
15:58Where.
15:59It almost prepared me.
16:00For Hollywood.
16:01In a sense.
16:02Because I don't know.
16:03If I could have.
16:02Survived.
16:03The 2000s.
16:04And the way I was treated.
16:05Unless I had already been.
16:06Through such health.
16:07Before.
16:08In the documentary.
16:09Um.
16:10There was a line.
16:11That really stuck.
16:12With me.
16:12Where you said.
16:13Life doesn't stop.
16:14Life doesn't stop.
16:15With the drama.
16:16So neither should you.
16:17And I found it.
16:18Really interesting.
16:19And something.
16:20I've tried to embrace.
16:21Like.
16:22Life is crazy.
16:23And bad things.
16:22Always going to happen.
16:23And you've just.
16:24Gotta power through.
16:25And we see that in the documentary.
16:26When the fire.
16:27And the.
16:27happens in the trailer.
16:28And you're.
16:29You've.
16:30Just gotta keep going.
16:31It's a pivotal moment.
16:32In the.
16:32production.
16:33Of the tour.
16:34How do you.
16:35Manage to carry on.
16:36When bad things happen.
16:37And.
16:37You're somebody.
16:38Who.
16:39Bad things have happened.
16:40Constantly.
16:41And you.
16:42Are always smiling.
16:43You're always.
16:42Positive.
16:43From going through.
16:44So much in my life.
16:45It's made me.
16:46So strong.
16:47And resilient.
16:47Where I can make it.
16:48Through anything.
16:49So no matter what.
16:50Life throws at me.
16:52It just continues.
16:53To make me.
16:54Stronger.
16:55Every single time.
16:56Well.
16:57I'm loving.
16:58This pop.
16:57journey.
16:58What.
16:59What.
17:00Do you want to do next.
17:01With your pop career.
17:02This is just.
17:02It's been.
17:03So much fun.
17:04Just.
17:05Living out my dreams.
17:07And now.
17:08I've been in the studio.
17:09The past year.
17:10And just finishing up.
17:11My third album.
17:12Which will be released.
17:13Next year.
17:14And I can't wait.
17:15We have a.
17:16Big tour plan.
17:17And so I can't wait.
17:18To perform.
17:19All around the world.
17:20And then get started.
17:21On my fourth album.
17:22This is what.
17:23I love to do.
17:24More than anything.
17:25Have you got.
17:26Advice from your musical friends.
17:27Brittany.
17:28We were just talking about music.
17:29The other night.
17:30We were in Cabo.
17:31For her.
17:32For her birthday.
17:33I heard about it.
17:34Yeah.
17:35So it was such.
17:36An amazing night.
17:37And.
17:38Yeah.
17:39We always.
17:37Love to like.
17:38Play music.
17:39We love to dance.
17:40And.
17:41We were just talking about like.
17:42What are our favorite songs are.
17:43And like.
17:44What type of music.
17:45That we love.
17:46And.
17:47Do you think.
17:48You could ever.
17:49Do.
17:50Any.
17:51Any.
17:52Any.
17:53Any.
17:54Any.
17:55Any.
17:56Any.
17:57Any.
17:58Any.
17:59Any.
18:00Any.
18:01Any.
18:02Any.
18:03Any.
18:05Any.
18:06Any.
18:07Any.
18:08Any.
18:09Any.
18:10Any.
18:11Any.
17:47Any.
17:48Anything with her.
17:49That would be.
17:50Iconic.
17:51So we'll see what happens.
17:52Yeah.
17:53I love her so much.
17:54She's.
17:55An angel.
17:56And you.
17:57To her birthday party.
17:58Was that accurate?
17:59Yeah.
18:00That's lovely that she's got.
18:01Such a.
18:02good sisterly bond with you.
18:03And you keep it very low key as well.
18:05And I'm sure she.
18:06And I'm sure she appreciates that.
18:08You're someone who is super famous.
18:11Do you ever wish you weren't famous at all?
18:14Mm-hmm.
18:15I feel like.
18:16I feel like.
18:17This is something I was born to do as well.
18:19I feel like there's certain people.
18:21In life.
18:22That this is like.
18:23What they're meant to be.
18:24So.
18:25Even though.
18:26It's been so difficult.
18:27And hard.
18:28I try to think about.
18:29All the beautiful things.
18:30That come with it.
18:31And I really see fame.
18:33As like a super power.
18:34To make people happy.
18:36So I love that I'm able to just.
18:38Make people's days by like.
18:41Taking a photo with them.
18:42Or spending time with them.
18:43Or just.
18:44Anything smiling.
18:45Just.
18:46I feel like.
18:47It just makes people so happy.
18:49So I think that.
18:50The good things you could.
18:51Do with it.
18:52And I love that.
18:53I'm able to use my platform.
18:54Just to make a difference.
18:55In other people's lives.
18:56So.
18:57Even though.
18:58It has been very traumatizing.
18:59At times.
19:01It's worth it.
19:02I like that.
19:03I love that.
19:04You're using your fame.
19:05And your platform.
19:06To do good in the world.
19:06How.
19:07How.
19:08How about money?
19:09Do you think money.
19:10Brings you happiness?
19:11It does because I have worked so hard and success is something that
19:16has always really been a driving force for me and I feel very lucky.
19:21I used to grow up in my family and have incredible business mentors with my grandfather and my
19:26parents and I always have loved to make them proud and...
19:31And I love that I've created this entire brand and empire and now 1111.
19:36My media company, so it makes me happy because I'm able just to...
19:41feel that happiness and I think that also just from going to those schools...
19:46and being so controlled that I made a promise to myself that I was going to work so hard.
19:51And become so successful that no one could ever control me or tell me what to do again.
19:56So I really see it as freedom.
19:58So you used the pain that you went through and...
20:01the restrictions and the abuse to drive your...
20:06your ambition.
20:07Yes.
20:08What do you say to people who say you've...
20:11had it easy because...
20:12because you came from money?
20:13I could totally understand people saying that.
20:16Because, of course, I'm very privileged that I'm, you know, came from...
20:21a family where I've been able to learn so much from such incredible...
20:26businessmen and women and...
20:29just, you know, coming from my life...
20:31my last name as well, so...
20:33but I've seen a lot of other people who come from, you know...
20:36prestigious families and...
20:38a lot of them don't do anything.
20:40Like...
20:41a lot of people I know, like, they just get, like, an allowance from their parents still.
20:45They've never worked a day.
20:46in their life.
20:47And...
20:48I've also seen just how unhappy they are because I feel like they have no...
20:51fulfillment in life because they are just handed everything and...
20:54they've never had to work for any of it.
20:56So, yes, I can understand people that don't know and don't see how much...
21:01work has went into everything that I do and just how...
21:05what I've created and what...
21:06what I've built and...
21:07you know, what I've been through on top of all that.
21:11So, I think if people know me, they understand.
21:14But then if there's, like, an outsider who just...
21:16you know, sees the name Paris Hilton...
21:18so I can understand how some people would think that.
21:20Because I would say...
21:21I'm self-made but, like, my granddad paid for me to go to journalism school.
21:24Everybody's gonna get some help.
21:26How much help did you get at the beginning?
21:28Um...
21:29I...
21:30like, used to get, like, an allowance.
21:31But I haven't done anything since I was 18.
21:3418.
21:35So, that's the same...
21:36that's me.
21:37My...
21:38mine was probably 21 through college.
21:39So, you didn't get money for your...
21:41my parents.
21:42There was no trust fund.
21:43Nothing like that.
21:44I've been working since I was...
21:45six...
21:46And so, they didn't help with the deposit for a house or anything like that?
21:49No.
21:50I did everything on my own.
21:51That's really not fair that people, like, criticize you for being...
21:55not believing.
21:56Something that you're self-made.
21:57Because there was a New York Post thing saying, fans are reacting, saying she's delusional,
22:00thinking she's...
22:01self-made.
22:02If they actually knew everything and saw everything, they would understand.
22:06Yeah.
22:07That's...
22:08that's really interesting.
22:09So, congratulations.
22:10How are you handled...
22:11that balance with your own kids?
22:13Because, obviously, you've been incredibly successful.
22:16How will you create the balance of trying to work out how much to support to give them?
22:21I think it's, you know, just from growing up in this way and seeing...
22:26so many others, I think if you spoil your children, you will destroy them.
22:30So, that's...
22:31something that my husband and I talk about where...
22:33we, of course, want to give them the most beautiful life, make them so happy.
22:36but we also want to instill that work ethic in them and make them want to do something with...
22:41their own lives.
22:42And I think with my babies growing up and seeing just how hard I work...
22:46and everything I accomplish, it's going to be really inspirational to them.
22:50And that's why I've...
22:51built so much at the house where I have, like, my recording studio here, the podcasting studio, the...
22:56photo studio, just, like, so much of my work I'm able to do from home and my kids...
23:01are always there watching everything, so I feel like that will be instilled in them, just, like...
23:06any time I'm in a meeting here, like, they're sitting on my lap, so, like, I feel like even though they're babies, they're so...
23:11soaking it in, and they'll continue to do so throughout their life.
23:15So, um...
23:16Yeah, I think for my kids, I just want them to be so happy and be incredible human beings.
23:21and I want them to do whatever makes them happy.
23:23You've talked a lot about reclaiming your narrative.
23:25What's...
23:26what's one misconception about Paris Hilton that you're still trying to correct?
23:30I feel like I've...
23:31been such an open book in the past five years where I've discussed everything.
23:36so I don't really think there's any anymore.
23:38That's great.
23:39I feel like I've cleared up so many misconceptions.
23:41I feel like before they just, you know, thought I was a dumb blonde because of the...
23:46simple life, but...
23:47I've proved that I am not a dumb blonde, and I'm just very good at pretending to be blonde.
23:51Well, that comes onto my next question, actually.
23:55I love...
23:56I loved in the movie when, um, you're doing a recording and somebody says,
24:00you can use your real...
24:01your voice on this one.
24:02And it reminded me, I was on your BFF show with you back in the...
24:06every day, and we would record, and you'd have this baby voice saying,
24:09that's hot!
24:10And then we'd go off and you'd be with...
24:11Benji talking about beats in this voice so low.
24:14And I would just be like, she's two different...
24:16different people.
24:17And so, like, you pretended to be somebody.
24:21What...
24:22was that...
24:23where did that come from?
24:24Was that protectionism protecting yourself?
24:26by being a caricature?
24:27Or was that strategically to play a part and earn money?
24:31I think...
24:32you know, I didn't even realize until...
24:34You still do it!
24:35I went...
24:36was it high or low, though?
24:37That was low, though.
24:38See, I literally can't even control it.
24:39I think it's just such a part of me.
24:41right now, because I've been doing it for so long.
24:43But I do think it was a trauma response to...
24:46what I went through.
24:47Where I just kind of wanted to build this...
24:49perfect...
24:50like a Barbie...
24:51like a Barbie doll life...
24:52and like a Disney...
24:54kind of...
24:55I don't know...
24:56like a Barbie character...
24:57and then...
24:58you know...
24:59getting the simple life...
25:00and then the...
25:01the producer is telling me...
25:02you know...
25:03we want you to play this kind of blonde...
25:05spoiled...
25:06head...
25:07and play into this character...
25:08and this was the first reality show...
25:10and I...
25:11I had no idea...
25:12I'd have to continue on that character...
25:13for five seasons straight...
25:14and then...
25:15every time...
25:16the talk show...
25:17and everything I would go on...
25:18I would be the character...
25:19and then I just kind of got...
25:20stuck in it almost.
25:21because the whole world thought...
25:22that's who I really was...
25:23and I'm also a very...
25:24naturally shy person...
25:26so I feel like...
25:27being the character...
25:28it made it easier...
25:29for me...
25:30to kind of...
25:31be silly...
25:32and say...
25:33say ridiculous things...
25:34I don't know...
25:35I feel like...
25:36had me talking...
25:37in my normal voice...
25:38and not playing the character...
25:39it would not have been...
25:40the show...
25:41that it was.
25:41I...
25:42I can see that...
25:43I know Nikki...
25:44your sister...
25:45and she's shy too...
25:46and...
25:46kindness...
25:47comes across...
25:48with both of you...
25:49and it's an understanding...
25:50that like...
25:51you're playing...
25:51a part...
25:52to get through...
25:53social anxiety...
25:54sometimes I'll do that...
25:55at parties...
25:56like...
25:56to be down...
25:57wait for tonight...
25:58like...
25:59how do you deal...
26:00with...
26:01social anxiety now?
26:01I still have...
26:02social anxiety...
26:03and I think...
26:04that might be...
26:05the ADHD as well...
26:06because I'm just...
26:06so in my head...
26:07all the time...
26:08and...
26:09I get...
26:10I think...
26:11also since the pandemic...
26:11like...
26:12I've gotten...
26:13way more anxiety...
26:14than I used to...
26:15um...
26:16but then if I'm around...
26:17like...
26:18if I bring like...
26:19the best friend...
26:20or like...
26:21I'm with like...
26:22a group of people...
26:23I trust...
26:24like...
26:25going in somewhere...
26:26and not knowing anyone...
26:27sometimes I get...
26:28a little nervous...
26:29I think that's normal...
26:30I feel like everyone...
26:31I mean it's just like us...
26:32it's just like regular folks...
26:33everybody deals with mental health...
26:34issues...
26:35but people wouldn't imagine...
26:36that Paris Hilton...
26:37this striking...
26:38beautiful blonde woman...
26:39with everything...
26:39would be nervous...
26:40going into an event...
26:42Yeah...
26:43I think...
26:44people would definitely...
26:45be surprised to know that...
26:46What's your relationship...
26:47with the character of Paris?
26:49Hilton...
26:50these days?
26:51Well...
26:52I think...
26:53before I saw it...
26:54as like a former...
26:54protection...
26:55and now I see it as...
26:56like my...
26:57just fun...
26:58silly side...
26:59like...
27:00you know...
27:01there's a time and place...
27:02for everything...
27:03and like when I'm doing...
27:04TikToks...
27:04like doing certain content...
27:05or...
27:06you know...
27:07like different campaigns...
27:08with brands...
27:09and they want me to play the...
27:09character...
27:10like...
27:11I...
27:12I will do it...
27:13and I love doing it...
27:14and then...
27:15obviously...
27:16when I go to DC...
27:17and I'm speaking on Capitol Hill...
27:18and talking about...
27:19serious subjects...
27:20that's when you see...
27:21like...
27:22the real side of me...
27:24um...
27:25but yeah...
27:26just like...
27:27I can do it...
27:28back and forth...
27:29We can all have silly sides...
27:29and serious sides...
27:30so it's fun...
27:31I think a lot of artists...
27:32and people do...
27:33like they...
27:34a lot of people...
27:35I've spoken to...
27:36like actors...
27:37Beyonce...
27:38Sasha Fierce...
27:39JLo...
27:39for Lopez...
27:40yeah...
27:41we all have that...
27:42and then...
27:43we all have the one...
27:44when we're at home...
27:44chilling...
27:45in our sweats...
27:46and just like...
27:47laid back...
27:48and just like ourselves...
27:49So you are just like...
27:49you're playing the part...
27:50of an entitled heiress...
27:51but now 20 years have passed...
27:53I have to...
27:54ask you the question...
27:55was the warm-up question...
27:56set up...
27:57or did you really...
27:58not know what...
27:59was at the time?
28:02I did.
28:03You did that?
28:04I did, yeah.
28:05You did?
28:06I just thought...
28:07it would be a funny line.
28:08And you came up with a line?
28:09I just...
28:10yeah...
28:11it wasn't like...
28:12I thought about it in advance...
28:13because I didn't even know...
28:14we were gonna talk about Walmart.
28:14but when it came up...
28:15I was like...
28:16in my mind...
28:17I was like...
28:18this will be funny.
28:19I had no idea...
28:20it would be such...
28:19an iconic line...
28:20that people to this day...
28:21still say...
28:22um...
28:23and now I have...
28:24like...
28:25my entire...
28:26kitchenware...
28:27and homeware...
28:28your fragrances were...
28:29all of it...
28:29yeah...

28:54they don't sell...
28:54they sell...
28:55Paris Hilton Prada...
28:56You're just a...
28:57you're just a comedy icon...
28:59moving on to something...
29:00a bit more difficult...
29:01the sex tape...
29:02it's really heartbreaking...
29:04looking back...
29:05in the documentary...
29:06and you talk about it...
29:07that you...
29:08had no agency...
29:09about this...
29:10besides Pamela Anderson...
29:11you were the first...
29:12celebrity to go through...
29:14this...
29:15publicly...
29:16and...
29:17internet was different...
29:18copyright was different...
29:19it was a...
29:19world...
29:20wild west...
29:21and...
29:22now it would be impossible...
29:23to happen...
29:24like...
29:24was there no way...
29:25of stopping it coming out...
29:26how was that time?
29:27It was...
29:28just...
29:29humiliating...
29:31so painful...
29:32I did not want...
29:33to leave my house...
29:34so it was just...
29:36it was just...
29:37you know...
29:38just trust somebody...
29:39and have them...
29:41violate me like that...
29:42it was just...
29:44the most horrible thing...
29:45that you could do...
29:46to a person...
29:47and...
29:48there was nothing...
29:49that I could do about it...
29:50and...
29:51um...
29:52yeah...
29:53that's something...
29:54that will haunt me...
29:54for the rest of my life...
29:55and if that happened today...
29:57it would be illegal...
29:59um...
30:00so...
30:01I mean I think...
30:02like another thing...
30:03I went through...
30:04that now...
30:05it would be illegal...
30:06for people today...
30:07so I think that...
30:08again is the good part...
30:09that other girls...
30:10don't have...
30:09to go through that...
30:10but...
30:11um...
30:12yeah...
30:13that was...
30:14I mean...
30:14when you frame it...
30:15that this was a young girl...
30:16who didn't...
30:17who...
30:18was coerced...
30:19to do this...
30:20and then was publicly...
30:21humiliated...
30:22and then flogged...
30:23for it afterwards...
30:24it...
30:24like...
30:25it...
30:26it really wasn't...
30:27really wasn't fair...
30:28I'm not gonna mention the name...
30:29to the guy...
30:30because...
30:31you cleverly...
30:32didn't do that...
30:33in the doc...
30:34have you ever spoken...
30:34again...
30:35no...
30:36would you ever...
30:37have a conversation...
30:38with him...
30:39have you...
30:39thought about...
30:40when your kids find out...
30:41about the sex tape...
30:42and how you'll...
30:43approach it with them...
30:44that's gonna be...
30:47really...
30:48just...
30:49painful...
30:50subject...
30:51to talk about...
30:52like...
30:53I don't even know...
30:54like...
30:55I haven't even thought about...
30:54what I'm gonna say...
30:55since they're only...
30:56two years old...
30:57right now...
30:58um...
30:59but...
31:01hopefully...
31:02by talking to them...
31:03they'll...
31:04never have something...
31:05like that happen to them...
31:06or they'll be taken...
31:07advantage of...
31:08so...
31:09it's just...
31:10horrible...
31:11and now...
31:12just being a mom...
31:13again...
31:14just thinking about that...
31:14that just makes me...
31:15even sadder for me...
31:16that I had to go...
31:17through all that...
31:18and so...
31:19publicly...
31:19people vilify...
31:20me for it...
31:21when I was just a 19-year-old...
31:22kid...
31:23basically...
31:24yeah...
31:24the media were just...
31:26brutal...
31:27for you...
31:28the news media...
31:29particularly...
31:29expert in the documentary...
31:30said...
31:31you're targeted...
31:32because of your intelligence...
31:33to play the game effectively...
31:34we kind of played the game together...
31:35similar to Princess Diana...
31:36you worked with the press...
31:37at times...
31:38welcomed them into...
31:39your life...
31:40posed for the paparazzi...
31:41do you think...
31:42you paid...
31:43the price for...
31:44to that...
31:45by welcoming the media?
31:46I didn't think...
31:47that was fair at all...
31:48I was always...
31:49respected...
31:49respectful...
31:50and kind...
31:51and I knew that...
31:52people were just trying...
31:53to do their job...
31:54so I was...
31:54always being nice to everyone...
31:56I never...
31:57was one of those celebrities...
31:58that would...
31:59you know...
31:59tell them off...
32:00or...
32:01or go off on them...
32:02like I've seen...
32:03some people do...
32:04so I just thought...
32:05it was...
32:06really unfair...
32:07the way that they did that...
32:08I'm gonna read...
32:09some of the headlines...
32:09from the documentary...
32:10and just ask you...
32:11like...
32:12how did they make you...
32:13feel...
32:14back...
32:14then...
32:15like...
32:16the idea that...
32:17that this was a description...
32:18of a young woman...
32:19in her early 20s...
32:19Paris Hilton...
32:20what's the point...
32:21famous for nothing...
32:22bimbo summit...
32:23no brains...
32:24all fame...
32:24a new low...
32:25for celebrity culture...
32:26like...
32:27you're human...
32:28just like the rest of us...
32:29how...
32:29did that feel...
32:30at the time...
32:31it was...
32:32really hurtful...
32:33you know...
32:34I was just a young girl...
32:34just...
32:35living my life...
32:36but I had the whole...
32:37world watching and...
32:39judging and...
32:40picking everything apart...
32:41and just...
32:42it felt like...
32:43no matter...
32:44what I did...
32:45or what I accomplished...
32:46people...
32:47just...
32:48refuse...
32:49to...
32:50I don't know...
32:51just see...
32:52see me...
32:53as like...
32:54a human being...
32:54it was just like...
32:55a cartoon character...
32:56like a punchline...
32:57that they...
32:58just make fun of...
32:59and...
33:00it just always hurt...
33:01my feelings...
33:02because I've always been...
33:03such a sensitive person...
33:04as well...
33:04and then...
33:05on top of it...
33:06when...
33:07having ADHD...
33:08we...
33:09experience...
33:10emotions...
33:11like...
33:12ten times more...
33:13than a...
33:14neurotypical...
33:14person...
33:15and...
33:16especially...
33:17there's something...
33:18called...
33:19RSD...
33:19which is...
33:20rejection...
33:21sensitive dysphoria...
33:22which...
33:2399%...
33:24of people...
33:25with ADHD...
33:24experience...
33:25so...
33:26to have...
33:27things like...
33:28said like...
33:29that...
33:29is just...
33:32physically painful...
33:33like...
33:34it's like...
33:35being stabbed...
33:36in the heart...
33:37like...
33:38it's just...
33:39I would cry...
33:39so much...
33:40all the time...
33:41just like...
33:42constantly...
33:43hearing...
33:44things...
33:45and...
33:46people...
33:47making up lies...
33:48and...
33:49stories...
33:50say...
33:51look at me now...
33:52honey...
33:53I've always loved...
33:55proving people wrong...
33:56so many...
33:57so much of my career...
33:58I've been underestimated...
33:59and misunderstood...
34:00so now...
34:01today...
34:02just to see...
34:03my life...
34:04and everything...
34:05that I've...
34:05accomplished...
34:06and...
34:07my beautiful...
34:08family...
34:09and...
34:10just...
34:11everything...
34:12that I've...
34:13done...
34:14so many...
34:15reporters...
34:16just...
34:17people...
34:18on the street...
34:19of...
34:19that...
34:20if I'm doing...
34:21an interview...
34:22just...
34:23so many...
34:24people...
34:25have said...
34:26I'm so sorry...
34:27for the way...
34:28that...
34:29myself...
34:30and...
34:31was wrong...
34:32What advice...
34:33would you give...
34:34to the...
34:35to the young girl...
34:36who was going through that?
34:36now?
34:37Hmm...
34:38my advice...
34:39would be...
34:40that...
34:41that...
34:42you shouldn't...
34:43listen...
34:44to people like that...
34:45that...
34:46what matters most...
34:47is what you think of yourself...
34:48so don't let that...
34:49outside noise...
34:50affect...
34:51how you feel about yourself...
34:53because...
34:54a...
34:55lot of people...
34:56can be mean...
34:57especially...
34:58you know...
34:59now with the internet...
35:00and...
35:01you know...
35:02people are able to hide by it...
35:01behind a computer...
35:02and...
35:03It's a different...
35:04form of meanness...
35:05now.
35:06It's different...
35:06I feel like the media...
35:07it wasn't like that...
35:08but then there's like...
35:09the internet trolls...
35:10who are just like...
35:11these people...
35:11living in like...
35:12their parents' basement...
35:13like miserable...
35:14with no life...
35:15and like...
35:16just sit on...
35:16on the computer all day...
35:17just writing...
35:18rude things to people...
35:19like...
35:20I just would tell them...
35:21like...
35:21I would feel bad...
35:22for this...
35:23these people...
35:24that they...
35:25are that miserable...
35:26that they need...
35:26to go and...
35:27and try to...
35:28tear you down...
35:29and don't let it affect you...
35:30In the movie...
35:31I found it really interesting...
35:32you talking about your ADHD...
35:33and thank you...
35:34I think...
35:35like...
35:36I believe...
35:37with mental health...
35:36challenges...
35:37it's so important...
35:38to talk about them...
35:39and normalize them...
35:40and destigmatize them...
35:41and make people feel...
35:41less alone...
35:42and...
35:43you've been a leading...
35:44person with ADHD...
35:45to do that...
35:46and...
35:47the quote...
35:46that really hit me...
35:47from the documentary...
35:48was...
35:49I have all the success...
35:50but I wish...
35:51I could be as happy...
35:52as someone...
35:51without the ADHD...
35:52demon voice...
35:53who had had...
35:54all these things...
35:55still have...
35:56would have had...
35:57all these things...
35:58so...
35:59do you still feel like that?
36:00No...
36:01it's...
36:02it's gotten...
36:03much better...
36:04like...
36:05now that I've...
36:06really...
36:06studied...
36:07and researched...
36:08and know...
36:09so much...
36:10about my ADHD...
36:11but...
36:12growing up...
36:11no one was talking...
36:12about it...
36:13especially with...
36:14young girls...
36:15so I had...
36:16no idea...
36:17like...
36:18being in school...
36:19and constantly...
36:20getting in trouble...
36:21all the time...
36:22not able to...
36:21focus...
36:22like...
36:23always in detention...
36:24always failing...
36:25like...
36:26all the tests...
36:27because I couldn't...
36:26remember anything...
36:27or like...
36:28losing my homework...
36:29just like...
36:30so many things...
36:31would happen...
36:31you know...
36:32people with ADD...
36:33would be called...
36:34like...
36:35bad kids...
36:36and I think...
36:37that's...
36:38one of the...
36:39was not able to focus in school or anything no matter how hard I tried.
36:44Um, and then now knowing that
36:49the voices from that that are negative self-talk are not true.
36:55Like that is always a good thing.
36:56So anytime I do have that happening, I'll just immediately say
36:59that's not you, that's just your ADHD.
37:02So that's how you manage it.
37:03That's really, I really love sharing.
37:04The solutions to that's how you, I talked to this amazing doctor named Dr. Holloway.
37:09Well, who was like one of the leading ADHD psychiatrists and he has it.
37:14And he calls it the demon.
37:17It's called DMN.
37:19Which is like the default mode network is what the real term for it is in the documentary.
37:24We call it the demon voice.
37:25I found it fascinating, the idea that all of these mean things are being said.
37:29about you in the press, but it's worse in your head that you were saying worse things about.
37:34yourself.
37:35Yeah. So that was just painful. And I think through doing this.
37:39documentary, like I feel like I never even gave myself the credit for like how much I survived even.
37:44going through that, like after everything I'd already went through in these schools, then, you know, coming out.
37:49into Hollywood and then having the media say all these crazy things like it was just.
37:55It was, uh, it was so traumatizing back then.
37:58So I'm so.
37:59Like grateful now to have healed from that and now I'm.
38:04able to tell my story to others because I know there's so many other, you know, kids who have.
38:09ADHD who I'm sure are going through the same thing right now and just to.
38:14tell them and let them know that this is something that we all experience and that those things are not.
38:19true and to be strong and to lean on in on it as your super power.
38:24because I wouldn't be the woman I am today without it as well.
38:27I wouldn't be the entrepreneur.
38:29I am.
38:30I wouldn't be the creative I am.
38:31I wouldn't have these so many different businesses without.
38:34So I want.
38:35I want.
38:36I want.
38:37I want.
38:38I want.
38:39To inspire others that this can be a superpower.
38:39And you can just lean in to what you love.
38:42They say that we can't focus.
38:44But that's not true.
38:45We can hyper focus like no other.
38:48We just can't focus.
38:49We can focus on things that are boring, but the things that light us up.
38:52We will focus like a superhero.
38:54That's really interesting.
38:55It's just that all of our brains have worked differently.
38:57Exactly.
38:58And so the fact.
38:59that you're talking about and normalizing this and showing it's actually a positive
39:02not a negative is.
39:04great example for society.
39:05So thank you.
39:06I've had so many families.
39:09kids.
39:10People come up to me and say, thank you so much for writing your song, ADHD.
39:13Like.
39:14My child used to be so ashamed of it, but now that's their anthem and they're singing
39:19it.
39:19Every morning and telling everyone ADHD is my superpower.
39:22So I love how I'm able.
39:24to reframe it, especially for these young kids growing up with it.
39:26Because I know that a lot of them are struggling.
39:28And back.
39:29Back in the noughties, you felt you couldn't admit to having any weaknesses.
39:34And now it's different.
39:35Opening up with your vulnerabilities is your superpower.
39:38Yes, for sure.
39:39Growing up in the 2000s, like no one was even saying the word mental health.
39:43Like.
39:44Have you heard that?
39:45They'd be like, what?
39:46Like mental hospital?
39:47Like they wouldn't understand that.
39:49I'm a big believer.
39:50And I've done a lot of work in the mental health space that like everybody has got somebody
39:53in the family.
39:54who's going through something scratched beneath the surface.
39:56I've got people with PTSD, ADHD.
39:59It's about the clinical depression.
40:01And it, and it, you know, people don't talk about it.
40:04And we should encourage it and make people feel less alone.
40:06So thank you for all of your work.
40:09I think it's amazing seeing this new generation and how open they are.
40:13Just how.
40:14You know, we were all taught like if anything's wrong, don't talk about it.
40:17Just like everything's fine.
40:19But when you do talk about things, it just shows like the power of vulnerability and telling
40:24your truth and just like letting it out.
40:27And it just like helps you so much.
40:28And then it makes.
40:29others feel safe to open up as well.
40:32And then it starts like this whole domino effect where.
40:34so many people could heal around the world.
40:36So you are just like us, the relatable things.
40:39So all of my gay friends are totally jealous that I'm here with you at your house.
40:44And until I saw this documentary, I didn't really realize why you were gay.
40:49And I had tears streaming down my face when you said.
40:54They are the ones who gave me the greatest gift, showing me what it truly means to live my
40:59country for so long.
41:00I was weighed down by the shame over what I went through in the troubled teen industry.
41:04I've never heard a straight person understand the shame that gay people go through.
41:09living in a world of feeling othered and not feeling welcomed and the fact that.
41:14you could empathize with that, with what you'd gone through.
41:16I found that really powerful.
41:18So.
41:22When did you realize your similarities with the gay community?
41:24Just especially getting out of those schools.
41:27And then David lost a.
41:29Chapelle and I were very close friends forever and I was one of his muses.
41:33And he would take me to.
41:34all the gay clubs.
41:35So I was hanging out with him and Amanda Lepore and like Patricia Field and like.
41:39that whole club scene and just be feeling so like much love so.
41:44accepted just seeing these people who just like live their life out loud.
41:49just beautiful inside and out and.
41:52just learned some.
41:54so much from that just an incredible community in so many ways.
41:58Pride is my favorite time.
41:59day of the year.
42:00It's.
42:01so much fun.
42:02just being on stage performing.
42:03going to all.
42:04the gay clubs.
42:05and feeling the energy the love in the room.
42:07it's like.
42:08it's like.
42:09nothing I can even describe.
42:10it's just so.
42:11much fun.
42:12well thank.
42:13thank you for your support.
42:14the way you vocalize that connection to the community was so breathtaking.
42:18how.
42:19how have you.
42:20dealt with that.
42:21shame.
42:22that you talked about.
42:23i've just felt that.
42:24a lot of the things that have happened in my life.
42:26are because other people hurt me.
42:29and something, another message in this film
42:31that I wanna have others know.
42:34Is that the shame should not be on us,
42:37it should be on the people who hurt us.
42:39And I was actually speaking with one of the survivors who...
42:44went to Provo Canyon School with me and she said that to me
42:47when we were doing my first documentary.
42:49And that's something that has stuck with me ever since.
42:51And it's so true.
42:52I feel like so many of the times...
42:54so many of us have held onto shame,
42:56which never should have been on us.
42:58It should have always...
42:59been on that person who hurt us.
43:01So I think that's such a powerful message for people to know.
43:04in their hearts.
43:06Because I feel like that would take away a lot of pain from people.
43:09if they knew that.
43:10Motherhood, they say becoming a parent will humble you and make...
43:14you just like us.
43:15What's one way your kids have humbled you recently?
43:18Yeah.
43:19They are just my everything.
43:22My world.
43:23And...
43:24every day with them just feels like a dream come true.
43:27I've always wanted to be a mom.
43:29And...
43:30now to have these two little angels who are just...
43:33the...
43:34the cutest little...
43:35fun...
43:36like sweet...
43:37smart...
43:38um...
43:39they're just everything to me.
43:41I'm so...
43:42so lucky that I'm their mom.
43:44When was your latest breakdown in tears mummy meltdown moment?
43:49They're such good kids.
43:50They're such good kids.
43:51I know...
43:52I've never had like a meltdown moment.
43:54They're really well behaved.
43:55They're so well behaved.
43:56They're so...
43:57like...
43:58just...
43:59smart.
44:00They're so kind.
44:01They're so gentle.
44:02They're on an amazing sleep schedule.
44:04Like...
44:04they're just like...
44:05the perfect kids.
44:06So if...
44:07when they become teenagers, if they turn out to be wild...
44:09how are you gonna deal with this?
44:11I...
44:12I think about that a lot.
44:13That's...
44:14that's...
44:15that scares me.
44:16Um...
44:17You're not gonna send them to a provost school.
44:18We know that.
44:19Definitely not.
44:19Um...
44:21That's why...
44:22even with this house, like I wanna like...
44:24build like this world where they...
44:26never wanna sneak out, cause they'll just always wanna invite all...
44:29their friends here, and this will be like the house.
44:31Everyone...
44:32like...
44:33is that...
44:34like...
44:34movie nights, and going in the pool, and...
44:36the water slide, and just like...
44:38having so much fun where...
44:39like...
44:40I feel like they'll never wanna leave.
44:41And if they try to sneak out, we have...
44:43the most...
44:44advanced security system, security guards, cameras, lasers...
44:49everything, so...
44:51there will be no sneaking out on my watch.
44:53So you're...
44:54you're creating...
44:55you're creating a safe environment.
44:56A very safe environment.
44:57So they don't want to leave.
44:59and if they did, they couldn't anyway.
45:01Um...
45:02what's something your mum and dad...
45:04have taught you about...
45:05um...
45:06life and parenting that you wanna pass on to your kids?
45:08or...
45:09or is there anything...
45:09anything you wanna do differently?
45:10I love that...
45:12my mum and dad...
45:14just always made...
45:15every...
45:16holiday especially...
45:17so...
45:18special.
45:19Just...
45:19like...
45:20my mum is like...
45:21the queen of Christmas.
45:22So with all the decorating...
45:23like...
45:24all of that...
45:24I learned from her...
45:25and just making...
45:26all those family moments...
45:27just like...
45:28unforgettable...
45:29just...
45:30all of the memories...
45:31and family traditions...
45:32that I learned from my parents...
45:33I'm now...
45:34passing on to my children...
45:35and...
45:36just...
45:37how important...
45:38family is.

45:45and I love that...
45:46my mum really...
45:47instilled that into me.
45:49and...
45:50how is Kathy...
45:51as a grandma...
45:52how is grandma Kathy...
