00:00Well, look, there's going to be a change of strategy now anyway.
00:02Lutz Vanninsteel, obviously, in the football club,
00:04he's going to help steer the process now.
00:07And, you know, names are being thrown out there, Alan.
00:09You've probably seen some of the favourites.
00:11I feel, having heard Derek Ray talk as well on this programme,
00:15that maybe he's more likely to go and get Lutz,
00:19more likely to go and get a manager that is in a different market right now.
00:23It might not be the obvious choice, just my opinion,
00:25because Stephen Robinson's been mentioned.
00:27Well, I think that would be my choice.
00:30Jens Berta-Lasko.
00:32I don't know if it's a job he'd be interested in at the moment,
00:34the way things are going with Motherwell.
00:36But I tell you what, right away, if either of them were interested,
00:39their fans would not like me saying this,
00:41but two wonderful options, by the way.
00:43Oh, absolutely.
00:44I mean, what Stephen Robinson's done at St. Murnaud has been quite incredible.
00:48I mean, winning the Cup earlier on, I mean, the European adventure,
00:54the top six three years in a row.
00:56I mean, it's been outstanding.
00:59So, of course, I mean, Jens, what he's doing at Motherwell,
01:01is he going to want to leave?
01:02I don't think so.
01:03That's not me saying Stephen Robinson wants to leave, by the way.
01:06But I just think where Lutz's in there,
01:08he's going to have his own ideas and opinions.
01:10And we all know that he's got a great knowledge of the European market as well.
01:18So I think he'll be scanning far and wide to see who wants to get in.
01:22So it's one of the ones that's very difficult to sit here and say,
01:25well, I think it could be X, Y, or Z,
01:27because we really don't know what he's thinking at this moment in time.
01:31And I don't want to annoy St. Murnaud.
01:32I don't want to annoy St. Murnaud.
01:34Well, look, it means their clubs are doing well.
01:36It means their managers are doing well, Michael.
01:38What do you think the Dons should do, Mikey?
01:42In terms of what?
01:44Well, would one of those two names appeal to you?
01:46Do you think they will look elsewhere?
01:47I mean, look, if you can pluck Jensbert to Lascaux from really nowhere,
01:51and I say nowhere in terms of a Scottish market,
01:53not many people knew who he was.
01:54There's others out there.
01:57Well, yeah, but ultimately it comes down to, you know,
02:01any appointment is carrying an element of risk.
02:04So what's the safest now then?
02:06The safest, I would say, is probably like a Stephen Robinson.
02:09But, and this is the, you know, as much as it will infuriate Stephen Robinson,
02:16although he's got a great job and, you know, he may well not want to move,
02:20but it would infuriate him to hear that debate about, inevitably,
02:24there is that debate about would Aberdeen want to be taking a manager
02:31from St. Murnaud?
02:32I think, I don't have a problem with it.
02:35I think it would be...
02:35Strawberry and football games.
02:37There is an element of it.
02:38And not to say that, and by the way,
02:41I'm not saying that Aberdeen are above their station
02:44because they're a bigger club than St. Murnaud.
02:46They're a big club, Aberdeen.
02:48Do they want a Stephen Robinson to go in there and steady the ship,
02:53get consistency and start to move forward?
02:56Or do they want to go and push the boat out
02:58and try and get a Jensbert to Lascaux who plays brilliant football
03:02and is on an upward trajectory?
03:04I would suggest that Jensbert to Lascaux may well not want to go to Aberdeen.
03:10He's got everything in line at Motherwell.
03:13Do his time at Motherwell two, three years and maybe get a big, big move.
03:18I don't know.
03:19I'm just looking at those two.
03:22I think that Stephen Robinson would be a sensible appointment.
03:25Jensbert will ask you a wee bit more of what you would class as a sexy appointment,
03:28but I'm not sure that Jensbert to Lascaux would be wanting to take that.
03:34I don't know.
03:34I just have a feeling that Lutz might get someone who is available
03:37elsewhere from a different market.
03:40Maybe we'll get someone on from Aberdeen next week
03:41to tell us about the process and what's happening.
03:43Remember, in the meantime, they'll have played Rangers twice.
03:46We'll see what the sort of mood at the football club is like
03:49by the time we get to next Monday night on this show.
