00:00What we're seeing is that people often attend multiple practices and I suppose that's pejoratively
00:07called doctor shopping. People often do it for convenience reasons but I think the real
00:11challenge here is what we've seen is when you come and see me as your GP, I create notes.
00:17Those notes can be shared by other GPs in the practice and they can be shared onto your
00:22electronic health record but with the online and telehealth only providers they haven't
00:27been doing that and they haven't been uploading that information and that means that we've
00:30been getting some really bad outcomes. I think it's just been a gap in the system
00:34to date that telehealth has provided great access and great convenience but it really
00:38has to provide healthcare safely. I mean that's the most important thing when we provide healthcare
00:43and so it's really important and the best way to get the care you need is from someone
00:48who knows you and knows your history and so these changes are going to make the telehealth
00:53providers as well held to the same standard so that they'll have to upload information
00:58as well which means that we're less likely to get these problems. The main thing is that
01:02we really have to take patient safety first and sort of providing safe care can take more
01:07time but it is more important than access, more important than convenience and more important
01:11than profit. I think that's the sort of important message that we really have to look after patient
01:16safety as that paramount in the health system.
