00:24The Country Bear Vacation Hoedown was an attraction created
00:27due to the overwhelming popularity of the Country Bear Jamboree.
00:30In Disneyland, it opened in February 1986 replacing the original show.
00:35A special variation of the classic show features the Country Bears
00:38celebrating the many joys of summer and the great outdoors.
00:41Its opening is different from the other shows
00:44because Max, Buff, and Melvin do not talk at the beginning.
00:47Instead, the five bear rugs can be heard tuning up their instruments.
00:51Zeke calls for Rufus to turn on the lights
00:53and then the show begins with the Great Outdoors.
00:56Rufus
00:57The famous sleeping bear was not originally part of the Country Bear Jamboree
01:00but was incorporated into the show
01:02at the Holiday of Old Day Country Bear Christmas Special
01:05that debuted in 1984.
01:07Rufus was now the sleepy lone stage hand
01:10in charge of fixing lights, running projections, and changing backdrops.
01:14He is constantly admonished by Zeke, Wendell, or Henry
01:17for not having something working.
01:19While Rufus, who is never seen,
01:20is often heard to be out of breath
01:22as he struggles to run to different locations to fix things,
01:25sometimes resulting in something crashing to the floor in the booth behind the audience
01:29or a sudden electrical jolt.
01:31He generally speaks in surprised grunts.
01:33He was also incorporated into the Country Bear Vacation Hold-Down Show
01:37that premiered in February 1986 in a similar role.
01:52Welcome to the Country Bear Vacation Hold-Down.
02:20Got out my old camp T-shirt.
02:22Still fits, kind of, and I'm raring to go.
02:25How about you, boys?
02:27All right.
02:29How about you?
02:30Well, Ben.
02:31Hey, Joe!
02:32I'm good!
02:33So when you're always hybrid, you must be right there.
02:36Oh, hey.
02:37I've lived apart from Moose in the middle.
02:39Here we go!
02:40Us bears, we do love nature, and ramping through the woods.
02:45Us bears, we do love fishing every hour if we could.
02:49Us bears, we do love singing in Country Harmony.
02:55And if y'all won't join us, we'll chase you up a tree.
03:00Now that's real country, boys.
03:03I'm a lonely swillings, so this is romance.
03:09A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and 7,000 ants.
03:18You tossed my love aside, just like a crumb upon the ground.
03:23If heartaches were fried chicken, I could sell them by the pound.
03:28My sandwiches are stale, as all the promises you made.
03:32And I can taste the teardrops and my lemonade.
03:38Cause life's no picnic without ya.
03:42Just a cold, lovely lunch on a one.
03:47Yes, life's no picnic without ya.
03:50I guess our relation was just infatuation.
03:58Now you're gone.
04:03Now you're gone.
04:05Oh, this whole thing's about to kill my appetite.
04:13Hey, Rufus!
04:15Fire up that third picture machine!
04:17Wait!
04:17Hello!
04:27I'm on the road again.
04:32I can't wait to get on the road again.
04:35The life I love is making music with my friends
04:40I can't wait to get on the road again
04:43On the road again
04:45Going places that I've never been
04:49And seeing things that I might never see again
04:53I can't wait to get on the road again
04:56On the road again
04:59Like a battle of gypsies we go down high
05:02We're the best of friends
05:05It's just a matter of wonky
05:07Turn my world away
05:09On the road again
05:13I can't wait to get on the road again
05:17The life I love is making music with my friends
05:21I can't wait to get on the road again
05:24Say cheese!
05:27There's no flash photography allowed during the performance
05:30And that goes for everybody, Wendell
05:33Sorry!
05:35Okay now, here we go
05:39Are you feeling rocky? Have you lost all hope?
05:44Down in the dumb sand in the road
05:46I know that it is this uphill climb
05:49Trust me, darling, put your hand in mine
05:52We can look into the dark
05:53We can look on our rocks
05:56Never said we're taking to the clouds above
06:00Covering your heart with a mountain of love
06:03It's the long way down, baby
06:05Straight to the top where the air gets thin
06:08Cause an avalanche when the kisses begin
06:10At my peak I'm gonna give you a thrill
06:13Cause after me, baby, it's all downhill
06:16We can make it to the top
06:17We can make the mountain rise
06:20We can make it to the top
06:23We can make it to the top
06:24Vening your land
06:25Vening your land
06:26Hey, what is this?
06:38Rufus, come on down here and change this thing.
06:43Sorry folks.
06:47Go home, just play something.
06:50Anything.
06:51Anything but that.
06:58Are you ready yet, Rufus?
07:01Gomer!
07:03Ladies and gentlemen,
07:07Bunny,
07:09Bofus,
07:11and Euclid.
07:13Well, these grown bears are in
07:15I don't really think those styles they wear
07:19And the southern bears,
07:21With the way they talk,
07:23They don't be a plant, no doubt there.
07:25They'll live west far,
07:27He's not a river,
07:29He makes you feel right.
07:33And the southern bears,
07:35With the way they kiss,
07:37They need their water plant forever.
07:39I wish they all could be
07:43California fans.
07:47I wish they all could be
07:49California fans.
07:51There's so kind of a
07:53There's so fair,
07:55So get so tanned.
07:57But if we want
07:59We want to be
08:01And a country in the sand.
08:05I wish they all could be
08:07California fans.
08:09I wish they all could be
08:11California fans.
08:13California fans.
08:17California fans!
08:19California fans!
08:23Two different worlds
08:25We live in two different worlds
08:27We live in two different worlds
08:29For we've been told that a love like ours
08:31Could never be
08:33When will they learn
08:37That our heart doesn't draw a line
08:41Nothing matters if I am yours
08:44And you are mine
08:46Two different worlds
08:50We live in two different worlds
08:53But we will show them
08:56As we swim together in the sun
09:00That our two different worlds
09:03Are one
09:06This just ain't working out to work
09:12We said I was all going
09:20I'm going
09:21Ain't no spot, he's so golden
09:26I'm going to go
09:30I'm going to go at all
09:32I'm going to go
09:33I'm going to go
09:38I'm going to go
09:42I love you, the way we, old sweet old me.
09:48Good old rock star, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.
10:04Some folks are far to the nature, like rivers and mountains and trees.
10:12They'll sit and sniff the flowers for hours and hours.
10:17That kind of stuff just makes me sick.
10:21Don't crawl through the woods all you want to.
10:25It's just too much for me to bear.
10:29There's nothing but trees full of buzzers and bees.
10:34I think they're a comfortable chair.
10:38Shoot!
10:39Get out of here!
10:41Hey, Parker, get along!
10:44Go on, get it!
10:46Watch out there!
10:47Watch out there!
10:48Watch out there!
10:49Watch out there!
10:50Go!
10:51Go!
10:52Go!
10:53Go!
10:54Go!
10:55Go!
10:56Go!
10:57Go!
10:58Go!
10:59Go!
11:00Go!
11:01Go!
11:02But it don't bother us none, not with a gal like Teddy Barrow hanging on me.
11:08I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain.
11:15What a glorious feeling of happy again.
11:22I'm feeling pretty cheerful.
11:24I'm laughing at clouds, so dark up above.
11:30The sun's in my heart, and I'm ready for love.
11:37And the storm has chased everyone from the place.
11:45Come on with the rain, I have a smile on my face.
11:52I walk down the lane, happy with the love.
11:59Just swinging and singing in the rain.
12:05Hey, Sam, this little Oscar here looks a stormy.
12:12Are you scary, Sam?
12:14All right.
12:16An old cowpoke went right now, when dark and windy day.
12:23I thought I did to rescue you when it all was the way.
12:33When all at once somebody heard a round of pounds he saw.
12:38I'm in the rain with light.
12:39At the height of an ocean and in the rain.
12:41I am in the rain.
12:45It's the eye.
12:46It's the eye out.
12:48It's the eye out.
12:50It's the eye out.
12:52P.I.A.
13:20In the I.O.
13:24Old Spiders is the sky!
13:36Oh, the world is a tangled, dry, and clouded.
13:53And there's been a cold, holy night.
13:58Oh, through the darkness around me, it's not a nice fountain.
14:06And I'm always right, but he can't lie.
14:13I wasn't thinking the path to a low that would last.
14:21I thought nothing could be was a party.
14:28I lost the love of my life, and I swear you saw me now.
14:35It was a nice one, too, when I got lost on my way to your heart.
14:45And a spoon and a kettle.
14:52What?
14:53Stop!
14:54Look out!
14:55It's a cup in there!
14:56Oh!
15:01Watch yourself, Henry!
15:02Awesome.
15:03Whoa!
15:04Well, would you look at that?
15:06Hey, don't this your smell brand other than it is?
15:09Why, showbiz.
15:11Say, I've been trying to break into the feeder all day, but you keep a running me off!
15:15Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da!
15:17Hey!
15:18Go easy on the skull there!
15:20How about you just sing along with a little song?
15:23Oh, right!
15:24Yeah, it seems all this recreation and vacationing and tap-dancing is just too much for this old country bear.
15:31Yep, just give me the simple light.
15:34Well, a light on the fall is kinda laid back.
15:37Ain't much an old country bear like me can't have.
15:39It's ready to rise, early in the sack. Thank God I'm a putter bear.
16:09Thank God I'm a putter bear.
16:39Well, that's it, folks. The country bear vacation holdout.
16:42Hey, this ain't another one. I'm just here for the...
16:45Ow!
16:46Come on, we gotta have us a little talk.
16:52Sold, everybody!
17:09Sold, everybody!
17:12Sold, everybody!
