00:00I'll start in the AFC with the Broncos and the Patriots.
00:03Of course, so many people focused in on the fact that it's Jared Stidham
00:06starting this game in Oppo next.
00:09Yeah, 2019 fourth-round pick with the Patriots, ironically,
00:13drafted by Belichick.
00:14So a couple things, and we'll get to the Patriots.
00:17But on Stidham, because this is obviously a huge story,
00:20I find it fascinating that the number, depending on which book you looked at,
00:24was the Patriots minus 5.5.
00:26The money clearly is going the other way.
00:30Because the line has dropped, again, depending on which book you look at,
00:33from minus 5.5 to minus 3.5.
00:35Because clearly the books, they want to move the money.
00:39They want to kind of even it out.
00:41So clearly a lot of money now is coming on the Broncos
00:43because they're only getting 3.5 now, which I think is bizarre to me.
00:46He hasn't started a game in two years.
00:47His starts weren't great.
00:49He's got above average arm strength, good size.
00:52He tends to hold on the ball a little bit too long.
00:55The one thing you're going to watch in this game is
00:59the Patriots' ability to get to him, to make him rush himself.
01:04Because when you have him play at that quarterback position,
01:06it's extremely difficult to get your timing down.
01:09It's one thing with Nick Foles, who had the magical end of the season for 2017.
01:15It wasn't as though he didn't play.
01:17He did play late in 2017 regular season, then through the playoffs.
01:21For Stidham, he hasn't started a game in a while.
01:22So that's a little bit of a problem for me.
01:25Matchup to watch.
01:26This is the key to the game for the Patriots winning.
01:29Patriots left tackle Will Campbell.
01:31They gave up a lot of pressure last week.
01:34Five sacks last week just to the edge rushers for the Texans.
01:38Campbell, he's got shorter arms, pretty good athlete.
01:42Came off IR a couple weeks ago.
01:44Watch Nick Benito, the star edge rusher for the Broncos, lining up over him.
01:48If Campbell holds his own, the Patriots are going to win this game handily.
01:52If they give up a lot of pressure, the game's going to be tighter here.
01:55And by the way, it's supposed to be windy.
01:57Check those forecasts.
01:58It's supposed to be windy during the game.
01:59But overall, I still see the Patriots winning this game and cover the number.
02:04But they cannot let Stidham get off to good start.
02:06Do not let him build his confidence, or this could be closer than you think.
02:09Yeah, we'll see how it plays out.
02:11Cap, I do want to just ask, because we had Doc on last week
02:14talking about the Bo Nix situation.
02:17And he thought it was very ironic that, not that Sean Payton came out
02:22and made the diagnosis, but that he was already scheduled for surgery.
02:28They didn't even look for a second opinion.
02:30It came out, basically, within an hour of the game ending.
02:34I mean, what did you hear about how that situation played out?
02:37I know Payton said he didn't want to wait until Monday to tell everyone.
02:42But why did they make such a quick decision about surgery?
02:45Oh, it gets them right for the off-season program.
02:48I mean, when you have surgery for a broken ankle,
02:51you're looking at 8 to 12 weeks, probably closer to 12 weeks.
02:56So, yeah, it's his right ankle, which is even – remember, that's –
03:00he's a right-handed thrower, so he steps with his left and rolls with his right.
03:04So it's going to be a little bit longer because he's a right-handed quarterback.
03:07But when it happened, it was kind of interesting because I don't know
03:11how the heck he did as well as he did.
03:13We know he heard it late in the game, but you've got to give him his up
03:16for doing what he did.
03:17And, in fact, Nick, Joe, said he didn't even know he broke it
03:19until the testing came back.
03:21So – oh, Luke Wattenberg, we need to mention this.
03:24Their starting center is back off IR.
03:26They activated him yesterday.
03:27One more one.
03:28This is huge for New England.
03:30Matt Collins, who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2017,
03:32not just a really good special teams player.
03:35He is their best deep threat for the Patriots.
03:38That is the one thing that someone close to the situation told me.
03:40That's the one thing they were missing when he was on IR.
03:44And you know Drake May is a very aggressive thrower.
03:47That is going to be very interesting to see if they're able to take some shot plays
03:50today with Drake May and Mack Hollins.
