00:30Alhamdulillah people of realities, people of ishq join in in the celebration of the
00:39Divine and those whom the Divine are pleased with, best of example are within the Prophets,
00:53the Ahlul Bayt, the family of the Prophets, the Ashabul Kiram, the companions and those
00:59who accompanied all the Prophets and from there Awliyaullah, pious servants of the Divine
01:04Presence and they are the best of examples for us.
01:15We read stories and if we read too fast many examples in our life will be lost.
01:23So saintly beings like Mawlana Shaykh they tell us to contemplate the event and step by
01:32step and how to apply a timeless reality.
01:39It's not just an event that happened and we go out and celebrate it once but their lives
01:47are a timeless reality for our life here on earth.
01:54As Allah describes, Sayyidina Maryam that we have chose her above all women in creation,
02:11choose her for a very special gift that Allah launched to bestow upon her.
02:23We're not going to go into that whole event but an important reality of that event that
02:32Sayyidina Maryam was given as a gift from her mother that, Ya Rabbi whatever is within
02:37my belly of this child I'm asking to give it as a gift in your way to be of service in
02:43your way.
02:45And a wonderful daughter was born and she gave that gift to Sayyidina Zakariya Prophet of Allah
02:54Allah.
02:55Because of the conditions and the temple only being men she was locked away where no one
03:07had access except Sayyidina Zakariya who was responsible for bringing her food and taking
03:14care of all her needs whatever she was in need of.
03:18He was the one who was in charge of watching over her.
03:29And Allah describes that a Prophet of God Sayyidina Zakariya all his life praying for
03:35a child to inherit his reality, inherit his secrets and asking Allah all the way to his
03:42old age, Ya Rabbi grant me a pious child that will inherit from this secret from my tradition,
03:53from my reality so that I may convey that and this lineage that you have bestowed upon
03:59us to continue.
04:03And that his main dua and then Allah describes something important in Sayyidina Zakariya's
04:10life that he comes in to the niche as she's a little bit older in life and every time
04:17he comes in to the area where she's living there's a sustenance there.
04:26There's food that are not from the seasons and food that nobody brought yet and he's witnessing
04:35time after time, time after time that there's sustenance miraculously appearing here.
04:42One for him to realize that above every knower there's a knower and to be tested in humility
04:50because Allah loves humility and humbleness and Allah is displeased with pride
04:58and arrogance.
05:01And teaching at that time with the value and the worth of women was at a very low reality
05:11at that time.
05:12And for a Nebi, for a Prophet of God asking, asking, asking and coming and seeing that this
05:21female has sustenance coming into her niche and immediately his heart opened and made his
05:31prayer in that niche , and his prayer was answered.
05:40Awliyaullah , take these stories and they begin to teach us that a path of humility
05:55and that you don't know where the secret is going to lie.
06:03He made a du'a and his du'a was accepted by the reality, now he's held accountable for
06:09that reality because later in life she's going to be tested.
06:16And as she's tested in her life, Divine saying, you're going to have a child and how am I
06:23going to have a child when no one has touched me?
06:26And Divine says, it's merely going to be.
06:29When we order it to be , what I want to happen will happen and you
06:35will be with child.
06:38And important in that reality is that a heavy test coming to her , being secluded
06:49always in prayer and worship and now you're going to bestow something on me that going
06:55to bring many difficulties and hardships.

09:52And the order from Allah from her station so high says that when they begin to attack,
10:00you have no permission to respond to the attack.
10:06With the power that she has of what Divine is bestowing upon her, she had the ability to
10:12answer with Divine energy, Divine lights.
10:16She could rebuff any attack that's coming.
10:20This is a Divinely gifted being.
10:25And the saintly lady of Divine presence that what we have bestowed upon you, that your faith
10:34is going to be tested.
10:35You'll be given a mission which is not popular and many people will attack you and you don't
10:42have permission to even report.
10:44Tell them that you're fasting and you cannot give jalaab, you cannot give an answer.
10:56AwliyaAllah, if Allah gives them a test, you cannot go out and try to prove your innocence.
11:06Allah said, don't talk, you take the accusation, you take the abuse and we will resolve it from
11:18Divine presence when we want.
11:23Sufism is a school of bringing out our character, bringing out the jewel within us, the slant
11:35that the stone may be very big and filled with lots of garbage.
11:40And these jewelers, these awliyaAllah, these saints, they can't smash at that stone until
11:47they have the right size jewel that has value in Divine presence.
11:58So, everything about keeping their company, as you are aggravated, as you are upset, as
12:06you are seeing things that don't make sense to you, events that are happening, keep close
12:12company, the more you distance yourself along with that character.
12:28So, she gives us an eternal message that she was tremendously pious, they knew her piety.
12:42The whole of the town, the sha'ar knew that sustenance comes to her miraculously and that
12:48our Nabi Sayyidina Zakariya , his dua was accepted in her niche because of the
12:54tajalli of her presence was accepted miraculously.
12:59Allah says, then I give a test to her to see now the quality and the character of people.
13:12And immediately the response from the people, she comes back with a child and the response
13:19from the people was attacked, what is this?
13:25For us in our lives, what blinds us from blessings, what blinds us from miracles, what blinds us
13:37from our darajats and to be raised is hasad.
13:48Jealousy blocks everything.
13:50Why is this bestowed to you?
13:52Why are you special?
13:54And why am I not special?
13:56Why did you get the raise?
13:58Why did you get this?
13:59Why did you get that?
14:01It can be many different issues concerning piety and religious people can be very dangerous
14:10because it has to do with our darajat and our stations and to be raised in blessings.
14:22The character of jealousy is it's a sickness that lays dormant waiting, waiting to reveal
14:31itself.
14:32You thought they understood you.
14:37And Allah wants to say, no, they're very jealous.
14:43And it only took one instant for the jealousy to come out and begin to attack.
14:51Then we knew all along something was wrong with you.
15:02They wanted to kill the child.
15:05They killed Sayyidina Zakaria.
15:06It means the danger and the sickness of hasad.
15:15You really are the one who's been strangled at all.

16:58The danger and the sickness of hasad, it is the root of our arrival onto this earth. That Azazil thought he was the
17:26khalifa of Allah . He thought he's going to be raised. He's the Imam teaching all the angels. And then Divine says,
17:36I know I have created the creation of Adam , bow down. He said, I'm never going to bow. And he didn't bow and came to earth.
17:52And the Imam of this earth. And the Imam of this earth, he's the one leading, the one teaching, the one who has been here. And he teaches from his characteristics. And he teaches that,
17:59as I fell, you will fall. I will blind you from the blessings.
18:04Hasad takes away that rahmah, takes away that blessing and brings out all the blessings.
18:09And the disease and the bad characteristics.
18:16So, then Mawlana Shaykh points out in our life that before we can, we can, we can't

18:42can truly open the reality of the heart that we must understand that hasad, that we must
18:49fight against that hasad and the reason why we don't like and the reason why we keep our
18:56distance and the reason why all these feelings and emotions come within us is from hasad.
19:08Instead of a joyfulness that her community had like, aha we found out there is something
19:15wrong with you.
19:24How much they suffered to serve the Divine Presence and in their suffering they took their task,
19:32they kept quiet, they went through whatever they had to go through for the benefit of humanity
19:39and that humanity would see and learn and awliyaullah would come into our lives and teach us that
19:45biggest danger in our characters is jealousy and jealousy blinds us from everything.
19:53It closes the ears, we don't want to hear anymore.
19:56Closes the eyes, I'm not seeing the miracle and I'm not seeing the blessings and begins
20:02to distance the heart until the person pulls and withdraws until they're able to lunge and
20:14attack.
20:15Because if it was true and sincere love none of that would come out that you would go down
20:24with the ship, not find a way to save yourself and say, oh I'm the clever one I knew all along.
20:36Means for us they teach us that for the heart to open then we must seek refuge in the Divine
20:42and ask from the nazar of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ the madad and support of awliyaullah that
20:48they show us our character defects, give us strength and madad to come against them and realize
20:56everything about our Sufi life is going to bring out all of these realities.
21:04Everything that they do to the shaykh and everything about the shaykh's life is to test everybody's
21:10hasad, everybody's jealousy, everybody's anger.
21:21We are needing the school to be tested otherwise if you're in a school and you're never being
21:25tested I would withdraw right away and find a school that you are being tested.
21:33And old times Sayyidina Abu Qadr al Jailani ﷺ you just keep watching because these are
21:40their power.
21:41We pray that they teach us our sicknesses and give us the strength to conquer those sicknesses
21:52so that we can reach towards Divine realities.
