00:15The video shows a bunch of federal agents actually having an altercation with the individual on the ground.
00:20You can see one of the agents come in, they are punching the man, and then all of a sudden you hear gunshots.
00:27We're not exactly sure where those gunshots came from, but the crowd erupts after that happens.
00:33And like you see, once again, there's an altercation between that individual on the ground near 27th and Nicollet.
00:39Several officers on top of this individual, they are punching on him, and then you hear shooting in profanity.
00:47That is a video that is circulating on social media.
00:50It has been given to us, and we are sharing it with you as we learn more about what is exactly happening there.
00:57and what happened at 27th and Nicollet.
00:59We're told that at 1130 there will be a briefing by Mayor Jacob Frye, as well as Police Chief Brian O'Hara.
01:07Since Operation Metro Surge began, they have been asking protesters and crowds to remain peaceful,
01:13and they will continue to do that again at 1130 to briefing and talk more about this federal agent allegedly shooting an individual,
01:19and that individual, as we have learned, has died from his injuries.
01:24We do have several reporters on the ground, Adam Duxer is on the north side of where the incident unfolded,
01:30and Frankie McLister is on the south side of where this incident unfolded.
01:35We did hear from DHS, who wrote into CBS News and showed pictures saying that the individual who was shot and is now dead
01:42had a gun and two magazines on his person.
01:45They are also tweeting pictures of that to show that there was, he did have a gun and two magazines.
01:50We did just show you this video that was given to us here at WCCO, showing those agents on top of that individual,
02:00punches are being thrown by federal agents, and then the sound of gunshots.
02:06The crowd erupts with a lot of profanities, but as you see right there on your screen,
02:10several agents, more than four or five, are on this individual.
02:14One agent comes in swinging, and next thing they know, they kind of disperse, and we hear gunshots.
02:20That is video that is circulating on social media right now about what happened at 27th and Nicollet right before.
02:27Shots rang out, and now the individual who was shot, we are learning, is deceased.
02:33Governor Walz has also tweeted that he is aware of this happening.
02:36We're going to expect to hear from Mayor Jacob Fry as well as Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara at 1130,
02:44and then we're told a press conference at noon from Border Patrol Head Greg Bovino.
02:50He was expected to speak at 11 o'clock today, but has pushed it back to 12 o'clock
02:55because of the incidents that are unfolding in South Minneapolis.
02:58This is the third shooting that we've had of federal agents of Minneapolis residents
03:03since Operation Metro Surge began, and all this comes just a day after thousands of protesters
03:09came to Minneapolis to express their concern about ICE being in their community.
03:15There were ministers and people from all over the country that showed up.
03:18They marched from the U.S. Bank Stadium Commons all the way to Target Center,
03:22and that's where they held a rally to show that they do not want ICE in our community.
