00:00A 17-time Oscar nominee, I mean, it's incredible.
00:03What went through your mind?
00:04Nine in a row.
00:05Nine in a row, I knew that.
00:07What went through your mind?
00:08You said you were up all night.
00:09Was it anticipation, the excitement?
00:10Yeah, nervousness.
00:11Like, you know, like, you never know what's gonna happen.
00:14And this is the first time I wrote a song for a movie about me.
00:17I mean, it's a documentary called, my documentary, Relentless.
00:20And, like, to write a song, like, what kind of song do I write?
00:24And I really, I feel like I really wrote a great song.
00:26It's called Dear Me, Kesha Sings It.
00:28It's basically if you could talk to your younger self, you know,
00:31what would you say, you know, when you're messed up younger self
00:34that feels like it's the end of the world,
00:36and you're telling him it's gonna be okay.
00:38And that's a song I wrote.
00:40And, yeah, I'm so excited that...
00:42Being recognized?
00:44Yeah, it's really, I'm really excited.
00:46And the documentary's up for a Grammy as well.
00:49Now, you said this was so personal.
00:50It's from your documentary.
00:51Yeah.
00:52Does that add an extra layer of pressure or excitement
00:57to be nominated for something so big?
00:59It is.
01:00It's always exciting.
01:01I mean, I never lose sight of that.
01:02You never get old?
01:03It never gets old?
01:04It never gets old.
01:05I love that.
01:06But this is so unique because, again, it's a movie about me.
01:08But the song, when I do a song right, it's not just about me
01:12or just about, even about a movie, you know?
01:15I mean, I could write, like, I don't know, Because You Loved Me,
01:18when I wrote that for Up Close and Personal,
01:20but then it got a whole life of its own outside of it, you know?
01:23This song is, I wrote, you know, to my younger self,
01:26but everybody has a younger self that they could be singing this to.
01:30I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, he wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote
