00:00U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner went straight
00:04from Davos on Thursday night to a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Moscow in the hopes of inching
00:10the Russian president closer to peace. It's the latest attempt at ending the nearly four-year
00:15war between Russia and Ukraine. Before leaving Davos, Witkoff told reporters that negotiations
00:20between the two warring countries were down to one issue. And that was it. Witkoff frustratingly
00:27did not offer a single detail or a clue as to what that issue actually is. He did say, quote,
00:34if both sides want to solve this, we're going to get it solved. The word if is doing a lot of heavy
00:41lifting there. If both sides. Now, the Kremlin sit-down comes on the heels of President Trump's
00:47closed-door meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Zelensky, at Davos in Switzerland. The
00:53two leaders spent an hour together in private and then didn't take questions from the media after
00:57their chat. But Trump did weigh in later in the day, saying that the meeting was good. Trump added
01:03that Ukraine's war with Russia had to end, but said, quote, we have a ways to go.
