01:12Hey Scweeks, sweet idea to come to the apple orchard.
01:15Oh, thanks Zezina-prab. I'm brilliant. It's fall apple baking season!
01:18I'm brilliant. It's fall, apple baking season!
01:21Well, which tree should we pick from? This one or that one?
01:23And which apples should we pick?
01:24Oh, there's so many to choose from.
01:26I don't even know where to begin.
01:27Tally-ho!
01:33Ha! Andy sticks the landing.
01:35Hey, how about we pick from this apple tree?
01:38Oh, yeah!
01:39Bingo! That's it!
01:48Man, oh, man! These apples are delicious.
01:52Apple!
01:58Pal, pal, you gotta finish chewing before you talk, man.
02:02Sorry. Look, I was just asking, like, how apples got up in those trees in the first place?
02:07I mean, did someone make them?
02:09Like an apple fairy or a magic spell?
02:12Oh, is it the internet?
02:14How long does it take?
02:15I mean, like a long time or a short time or no time?
02:18Oh, so many questions.
02:20Uh, I'm thinking the trees make the apples, Hal.
02:24And it probably takes some time.
02:26The apples don't just appear overnight. They have to grow.
02:30The tree? No way! But how?
02:33Ooh! This actually reminds me of one of my all-time favorite nature stories.
02:39It's a nature story that will actually help answer all of Hal's apple questions.
02:45Yes!
02:46What's a story? I love stories!
02:49Get all comfy cozy, because it's time to tell my version of Johnny Appleseed!
02:57This is Johnny Appleseed. Handsome fella, huh?
03:02Johnny Appleseed was actually his nickname. His real name was John Chapman, a pioneer who lived a really long time ago with his family, including his brother, Nathaniel.
03:15Hi, everyone! It's me, Nathaniel! Wink, wink.
03:20And his sister, Elizabeth!
03:22Oh, hello!
03:23Hey, where am I, Nature Cat?
03:25Don't worry. Your part comes in later, Squeaks.
03:28Oh, cool. I'm down with that.
03:30Well, the time has come for me to bid you adieu.
03:33For, you see, I must venture forth on an amazing apple adventure!
03:39Where are you going, dear?
03:41Go westward, young cat!
03:44Yes, father! Westward it is!
03:47I shall go forth to plant apple orchards by seed!
03:54Now, what am I going to need?
03:58Hey, Johnny, do you want to take this? You might need it to cook on the campfire.
04:03Uh, well, I don't really have any more room, but you're probably right.
04:09Hmm. Aha! Look here! Stylish and functional.
04:15Hey, I'm coming with you! You're really going to need my green thumb!
04:19Oh, me too! Pick me, pick me, pick me!
04:21Can you help me grow apple trees?
04:23You know it!
04:25Can you talk about apples all day, every day, for as long as we are gone?
04:31Um, probably?
04:33Good enough for me! Tally-ho!
04:37So, ready!
04:41I'm ready, Tutu, also!
04:43Toodaloo! Have fun!
04:46The time has come for us to head west!
04:50Ahem! West is the other way!
04:53Ah, right! Yes!
04:56I'm so glad you were here.
04:58Onward! And westward!
05:00Woo-hoo!
05:02Whoa! This sure is beautiful, Johnny!
05:21Man, oh, man, this view is incredible!
05:24But boy, oh boy, my dogs are barking!
05:27Was I?
05:28Excuse me!
05:29I just mean my feet are tired!
05:31Phew!
05:34Hey, quick question, Johnny!
05:35Since I'm the one asking a lot of questions in this episode,
05:38where do these apple seeds even come from?
05:40Some sort of apple fairy?
05:42Excellent question, my dog brother!
05:44Let me show you!
05:46Ta-da!
05:48Apple seeds!
05:50Hi, little seeds! It's me, Ha-
05:52Oh, I mean Nathaniel!
05:53Wink, wink!
05:54They may be tiny now,
05:56but every single one of them has the potential to become a big, beautiful apple tree!
06:04Really? Oh, wow!
06:07Greetings, travelers!
06:09Welcome to the town of Apple Valley!
06:13Why is it called Apple Valley?
06:16I don't see any apple trees around here at all!
06:19I know, weird, right?
06:22Not the best planning on our part.
06:24Then it looks like we got here just in time!
06:29I hereby proclaim that we are going to plant our first apple orchard here!
06:35Hooray for us and hooray for apple trees!
06:39Thank you, friends!
06:41Plenty of sun, the soil looks good, a perfect place to plant!
06:46Then let's say we plant our orchard!
06:49Tally-ho!
06:50All this work sure is making me hungry!
06:51I can't wait to have an apple to eat!
06:52Are the apples ready yet?
06:53Now?
06:54Now?
06:55How about now?
06:56Nature Cat, this part takes a really long time, like ten years!
06:59Maybe we should fast forward!
07:00Good idea, Squeaks!
07:01Here we go!
07:02Here we go!
07:04Oh!
07:05How about now?
07:06Nature Cat, this part takes a really long time, like ten years!
07:11Maybe we should fast forward!
07:12hungry. I can't wait to have an apple to eat. Are the apples ready yet? Now? How
07:18about now? Uh, Nature Cat, this part takes a really long time, like ten years. Maybe
07:24we should fast forward. Good idea, Squeaks. Here we go.
07:32Wow, take a look at these. They're beautiful. Ah, and smell those apple
07:41blossoms. Wait a minute. These are flowers, not apples. Where are all the apples, Johnny?
07:49Excellent question, my dear dog brother. And the answer is, um, one that I know. Or that
07:57I knew. Yeah, no, I really don't know. Elizabeth? Hmm. Oh, here it is. These blossoms actually
08:06need help before they can turn into apples. They need other apple trees nearby
08:11for pollination. Polly, who's he, what to do? Oh, this is where you come in, Squeaks. Oh, yeah, look out.
08:18Here comes the mouse. Uh, or here, here comes the bee. Wow, these blossoms sure smell beautiful. Yikes. I'm all covered in yellow stuff. Gross.
08:35Gross. No, no, it's cool. It's pollen. The stuff used to pollinate apple blossoms. Being covered in pollen is a
08:42good thing. It's key to making apples. Pollen, huh? Okay, that's cool, I guess. Yep. Now go to another
08:50tree. The pollen from both trees mix. That's what the blossoms need to turn into apples.
08:56Whoa, I have a big part in this.
09:04So, are we ready to eat these apples now or what, guys? No apples still? Cause sure love some apples
09:10right about now. Ahem. Excuse me. Um, can we fast forward five months, please?
09:15After the blossoms are pollinated, the blossoms fall to the ground and seeds start to form. Then, finally,
09:24the apples grow around the seeds. Great work, everybody. We did it.
09:33Ta-da! And ta-dee!
09:38Oh, yeah. Now I forgot. Johnny Appleseed planted a different kind of
09:45apple tree. Those apples were really sour. Ha-ha. My bad.
09:51Hmm. Yep. These apples are only good for making cider or feeding to livestock.
09:58But look at this. Many years after Johnny Appleseed planted his orchards, people began
10:05growing different kinds of apple trees. They found ways to make apples taste even sweeter.
10:10Love this montage music. This is nice.
10:13Just to name a few. Cortland apples in New York. Ginger gold apples in Virginia.
10:18Honey crisp apples in Minnesota. Red delicious apples in Washington.
10:23Ha-ha. And as for us, our apple quest continues. Who's with me?
10:29I'm down with that. Count the beans.
10:32Ooh. Pick me. Pick me. Pick me. Pick me.
10:34Farewell, travelers. And thank you.
10:38Good-bye. Planting more and more apple orchards as we head westward. Tally-ho!
10:47Hey, Johnny. Uh, west is the other way.
10:51But of course, onward and westward!
10:55So Johnny planted many more orchards and then was ready to return home.
11:02Hello again, my very attractive mother and father.
11:09We're home!
11:11And we had an apple-rific time. And we brought you back something from our trip.
11:16How do you like them apples?
11:18Ooh, apples! Thanks, kids! My favorite!
11:24And I know just what to do with these. Tally-ho! Apple pie! Taddy! Wink, wink.
11:35And that brings us back to today.
11:38Boy, oh boy. That was one sweet story, Nature Cat. Thanks.
11:43Sure was. And thanks to you, Tree, for all the delicious apples.
11:48Hey, you guys! Uh, that ending gives me an idea!
11:52Oh, should we dress like pioneers for dinner?
11:55Well, no. Maybe some other time. But we can bake an apple pie!
11:59Oh, yeah! That's better!
12:01I've got a sweet recipe right here! And I got the apples over here!
12:06Then tally-ho!
12:10Sound off!
12:13Man, oh, man! We're almost done!
12:20I know! We've almost built the biggest sandcastle ever!
12:27Yep! In all the history of sandcastles!
12:31Maybe all the history of history!
12:33Oh, that's an intense thought.
12:35Yes! Nothing can stop us now!
12:39Ah! What's that noise? Ah!
12:43Daisy, are you all right?
12:47Ah! A castle!
12:49We're gonna have to start all over again.
12:52Oh, I'm so sorry. I just...
12:54Oh, I keep hearing the sound that's so annoying.
12:58Hmm. I don't hear anything.
13:01Me either.
13:02Me either, neither, Tutu.
13:04I guess my ears are just more sensitive than yours.
13:07Ow!
13:09Aw!
13:10I can't stand to see Daisy's cute wittle here so bothered!
13:14We have to find out where this rogue sound is coming from!
13:18Sounds like it's coming from across the lake!
13:21Across the lake?
13:22How can a sound get all the way from there to here?
13:26Well, sound can travel pretty far, Howl.
13:29I-I can hear you howling at the moon when I'm all the way up on Butterfly Hills.
13:33No way!
13:34That's far!
13:35Squeaks is right!
13:37Sound can travel far, especially over this lake water where there's nothing to block it!
13:42Oh, man! Oh, man! There it is again!
13:45It's like a beeping sound!
13:47Beep! Beep! Beep!
13:49Not to worry, Daisy!
13:51We will find that bothersome beep and snap it!
13:54Scanning for sound, scanning for sound, scanning.
14:02I don't see any sound!
14:04Hi there!
14:05Good day there!
14:08What say you, fish?
14:10I say we need help!
14:11Lots of help!
14:12Help! Help! Help! Help!
14:14Oh, no! What's wrong, you guys?
14:17There's a terrible sound underwater!
14:19Does it sound like this?
14:21Beep! Beep! Beep!
14:23You know, like that?
14:24No, it sounds like a really loud boom!
14:27Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
14:29Whoa! You can hear sound underwater? Who knew?
14:33Oh, yeah. We hear sounds, and they tell us what's around us.
14:36And we can even make sound!
14:38But now there's this awful booming!
14:40All that noise confuses us and makes it hard for us to find food in school!
14:50And that puts us in danger of becoming somebody's dinner!
14:54And we can still hear that awful boom!
14:58Boom! If it keeps up, we're gonna be in big trouble!
15:02Not to worry! For all our fish friends and for Daisy, I, Nature Cat, will find the beep and booms and stop all sounds!
15:13Oh, boy! Thanks, Nature Cat! You're the best!
15:18Thanks, thanks, thanks!
15:20Wait! I just heard the beep again! And it's definitely coming from across the lake!
15:26Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get over there!
15:29Uh, how exactly are we going to get there?
15:32Cause there's no way we're swimming!
15:35And I don't see any other way across the lake!
15:38All aboard for the other side of the lake!
15:41Woo-hoo!
15:42Water! Why did it have to be water?
15:46Onward and soundward!
15:50Row, how, row! Row, how, row!
15:53Aye, aye, oh, captain, my captain!
16:00Aye, Nature Cat, do you see anything?
16:03Not yet!
16:05Daisy, my love, do you hear anything?
16:08Sorry, I don't know why I chose to be a pirate just then. It was fun.
16:12Listening, listening...
16:14Oh, I hear it! Oh, it's getting louder!
16:18Oh, boy, I hear it too!
16:21Me too, too!
16:22Oh, that beeping is so annoying!
16:25I know, right?
16:26Ow! It's so loud!
16:28Here, try these earmuffs, Daisy!
16:30We're almost there! Nothing can stop us now!
16:37Oh, no! A leak!
16:39Oh, I gotta stop saying that.
16:41Oh, we're gonna sink! What do we do, what do we do?
16:44I mean, what are we gonna do?
16:46I don't wanna get wet!
16:48Mouse to the rescue!
16:52Mouse in the hole!
16:56Way to go, Squeaks!
16:58No problem, man! I got it!
17:00We're back in business! Onward and yonward!
17:06Land ho!
17:08The beeps are getting so much louder!
17:11Same with the booms!
17:13Too loud!
17:14Too loud!
17:16Hey, guys, are we there yet?
17:18Almost, Squeaks! Almost!
17:21You saved us, Squeaks!
17:28Thanks! Nature Cat, now can you pull me out?
17:31You sacrificed your body for your friends!
17:34Who knows what might have happened if you hadn't heroically and selflessly plugged that hole!
17:40Nature Cat, can you pull me out, please, now?
17:42And not everyone would have done that, you know!
17:44I mean, I would, of course, but I'm much too large!
17:47Nature Cat, please!
17:48Nature Cat, please!
17:49And Hal, hmm...
17:51Well, I'm not sure if Hal has it in him...
17:53Help me out!
17:54Oh, sorry!
18:03Hey, wait a minute!
18:04I can hear it now!
18:05Those boisterous, blaring beeps!
18:08And they're getting louder!
18:10We must be getting closer!
18:12Closer to what?
18:13I mean, all I see is sand and water!
18:15That's it!
18:16Water!
18:17Remember what the fish said?
18:19Yes, he said, hi there!
18:21After that...
18:22I believe he said, and I'm pretty sure I'm quoting this correctly, I think he said, we need help!
18:26After that, there's a terrible sound under the water!
18:30Yes!
18:31So maybe if we go under the water, we'll hear what the fish are hearing and find out where the sound is coming from!
18:36A sound plan, Squeaks!
18:37Get it?
18:38Sound plan?
18:39No, you guys are right!
18:40It's not the time for jokes!
18:41All right!
18:42Scuba gear on!
18:43Woohoo!
18:44Aren't you coming, Nature Cat?
18:46Of course I'm coming!
18:47I mean, we have to help those fish, right?
18:50Then on the other hand...
18:52Come on, Nature Cat!
18:53It's just water!
18:54That's the problem!
18:55But I love fish!
18:56But I also really don't like water!
18:57The sound just got louder!
18:58It's really hurting my ears!
18:59That does it!
19:00I'm in!
19:01Wait!
19:02No, no, no, no, I'm not!
19:03I'm out!
19:04I'm so out of the water!
19:05But no!
19:06I must go in!
19:07No!
19:08No!
19:09No!
19:10No!
19:11No!
19:12No!
19:13No!
19:14No!
19:15No!
19:16No!
19:17No!
19:18No!
19:19No!
19:20No!
19:21No!
19:22No!
19:23No!
19:24No!
19:25No!
19:26No!
19:28But it's so wet and out here so dry, in out, in out!
19:30N!
19:32I must go in for Daisy and her cute ears for the fish
19:34and for the animals everywhere who are harmed by noise pollution.
19:37I, Nature Cat, shall brave the water!
19:41I'm in!
19:44Are you okay, Nature Cat?
19:46I'm fine!
19:48Really!
19:49I'm not terrified at all.
20:26Ronald?
20:30Hey, that's the beeping sound that's hurting my ears.
20:40Ronald?
20:45Hello, Ronald.
20:48Yeah, yeah, hello, Nature Cat.
20:51What are you doing here?
20:53Fishing for gold, if you must know.
20:55Made this little gold detector myself.
20:57When it finds gold, it beeps even louder.
21:00Genius!
21:02Woo-hoo-hoo!
21:04I've hit the mother load.
21:06Turn it off, Ronald!
21:08Turn it off!
21:10No way!
21:11I'm gonna be rich!
21:12Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:13Rich, you hear me?
21:15Rich!
21:17Ronald, you are scaring the fish.
21:22And the boom sound hurts their ears, Ronald.
21:25And the beeping sound hurts mine.
21:27Wait, wait, wait.
21:28Fish can hear.
21:30Yes, they can.
21:31And the noise that that gadget of yours is making can be heard all the way across the lake, both above and below the water.
21:40Okay, so I didn't realize that I was causing a problem.
21:46I don't want to hurt anyone.
21:48I'm not a bad cat.
21:49Really, I'm not.
21:50But there's gold under there, and I want it.
21:53It's mine.
21:54No more fishing for gold, Ronald!
21:57The beeping and booming must end!
22:00No!
22:01Yes!
22:02No!
22:03Yes!
22:04No!
22:05Yes!
22:06Ah!
22:07Nature Cat!
22:10There'll be no more noise pollution on our watch!
22:13What he said!
22:17Hurray!
22:18No more booms!
22:19No more booms!
22:21And no more beeps!
22:23My ears are already starting to feel better!
22:26Oh, yeah!
22:27Oh, yeah!
22:28Oh, yeah!
22:29Time to get back to building sandcastles!
22:32Ah!
22:33No!
22:34Whoop!
22:39Ow!
22:40Thank you for turning off the beeps and booms, Ronald.
22:44Oh, hey!
22:45And look!
22:46You started a new sandcastle!
22:48It's gotta be the best and the biggest and the bestest sandcastle in the history of sandcastles!
22:52What he said!
22:53Ha, ha, ha!
22:54She said what I say every episode!
22:55Ha, ha, ha!
22:56Thanks for stopping those beeps, Nature Cat!
22:57I can't believe you actually went into the water!
22:58You know I'd do anything for you, Daisy!
22:59Now, what do you say we build our castle!
23:00Woo-hoo!
