Enshrouded startete Anfang 2024 furios mit hunderttausenden Spielerinnen und Spielern auf Steam. Seitdem erschienen schon zahlreiche Updates, die das Bausystem erweiterten, die Kämpfe verbesserten, NPCs lebhafter machten und neue Dungeons und ganze Regionen der Welt hinzufügten.

Nach zwei Jahren im Early Access auf Steam geben die Entwickler jetzt bekannt, dass der Release-Zeitraum für Version 1.0 feststeht. Im Herbst 2026 ist das Spiel offiziell fertig und erscheint dann auch auf den Konsolen.

Das heißt aber nicht, dass Entwickler Keen Games schon mit dem Spiel abgeschlossen hat. Bis zum Release soll es weitere Verbesserungen und neue Inhalte geben und auch danach soll Enshrouded noch über Jahre hinweg unterstützt werden. Hier eine kurze Übersicht darüber, was noch kommt:

- Im Frühling 2026 liefert ein Update diverse Verbesserungen, Bugfixes und Balance-Anpassungen. Außerdem könnt ihr dann auch eure Welten mit der Community teilen. 

- Für den Herbst 2026 ist der Release von Version 1.0 geplant. Begleitet wird der von Performance-Optimierungen, neuen Komfortfeatures, Verbesserungen für die Kämpfe und weiteren Funktionen für den Baumodus und das Teilen von Welten. Außerdem erscheint Enshrouded auch für Konsolen und die Welt soll um neue Feinde, Orte und Herausforderungen erweitert werden.

- Nach dem Release im Herbst soll Enshrouded weiterhin Updates erhalten. Geplant sind kostenlose neue Inhalte, aber auch Bezahl-Erweiterungen. Die Welt soll weiter wachsen, genaueres verrät Keen Games aber noch nicht.

00:12Hello guys, happy to be here.
00:16Here we've got two significant milestones to talk about today.
00:18Yeah, that's right.
00:20This week marks the second anniversary of our Early Access, and we are also very happy
00:25to announce that we've recently crossed the 5 million players mark, which is actually mind-blowing.
00:31Yeah, I hear we're offering another set of Twitch drops to celebrate?
00:36Yes, our artists have prepared a really nice new armor set, as well as our first cushion
00:42to the game, so just weeks ahead of Valentine's Day.
00:46Nice, oh yeah, because the cushion, right, we can probably show an image of it here, it's
00:51like a heart-shaped cushion, it looks great, and it's going to look even better in your
00:54bedrooms, living rooms, just make the place cozy as hell.
00:58So yeah, of course, as usual, this set will be accessible in-game through Quest, for those
01:03of you who prefer it, you just have to talk to the Huntress.
01:07Okay, right, on to the important stuff, because we have a lot to talk about today, the video
01:11is titled Road to Release.
01:13Can you tell us more about that?
01:15Yeah, we're finally announcing, not a release date, but a release window.
01:20So there's a lot of work that still has to go into the game before we lock down a definitive
01:24date, so an estimate is the best we can do for now.
01:28Yeah, plus we've already had to move the release date for Wake of the Water, and saying a date
01:33and not being able to stick to it, it kind of sucks.
01:36So yeah, that's what we found.
01:39What's the release window then?
01:41Yeah, it's autumn 2026, so finally it's coming this year.
01:45But we are going to also have another release this year, which is a smaller one, the 0.8,
01:52smaller in scope and exclusively focused on raising the quality with balancing improvements,
01:57polishing and bug fixing.
01:59And we'll introduce the first version of Adventure Sharing that will allow you to share your creations
02:05with the community from within the game.
02:07And that's coming this spring, actually.
02:10Okay, nice.
02:11Exciting.
02:12Okay, so what about autumn 2026 then?
02:16Yeah, we want to have a really polished and complete version of Entrouded for 1.0 so everyone
02:22can enjoy the game as we envisioned it.
02:24We will unlock new areas for the world map and there's going to be an advanced version of
02:28Adventure Sharing where we add logic elements, spawners, traps and more to our building systems.
02:34Yeah, so basically, from what I heard, we've been very impressed with our player creations
02:39and buildings and the minigames contest and we're very excited to see more if we give you
02:44guys just more tools to build cool things.
02:47I heard the logic system is going to be somewhat like what we had in Portal Knights before.
02:54So that's really cool.
02:55To some degree.
02:56Okay, cool.
02:57And I hear we also got some changes about combat?
03:00Yeah, obviously we're working on combat to give it more love.
03:04There has been criticism of combat and we understand that so we'll try to add more tactical depth,
03:10better enemy behavior, balancing changes and a higher level of enemy variety to the game
03:15as well.
03:16Not to forget the great sword rework.
03:19I heard that it's going to be a lot more like slicing than smashing.
03:23And personally, I'm very excited to see a lot more of that coming from.
03:28And we have some more about combat, you told me.
03:31Yeah, so we want to make it obviously more interesting.
03:34So for sure, we will still keep it customizable as we have before.
03:38So whether you're a fighter or a builder, we won't still be able to enjoy the game your way.
03:44So it's not going to be just dialing up the difficulty or something like this to make combat
03:50focused players more happy, but it will also still continue ways to customize all of this.
03:56Obviously, for release, we will also continue to work on optimization for smoother gameplay
04:01across hardware, especially lower end configs.
04:04And yeah, shaded compilation is for sure also on our list of things to improve as we understand
04:10that there's still some friction to work on.
04:12Yeah, I think a lot of people are going to be very allowed to hear that.

04:27Yeah, we also review the start of the game for a better new player experience and all the
04:33polishing and balancing mentioned already.
04:36And last but not least, there will be a console release.

04:48Yeah, we also haven't forgot about the roadmap items and community wishes that we couldn't
04:53add to 1.0 yet or to the game yet.
04:58So it's not the end, but another beginning for us.
05:02And so the development will continue for years to come.
05:06We'll have free additions as well as paid expansions in the future.
05:10And I hope that's going to be fine for people.
05:13There is a world beyond Ember Vale and yeah, we're really happy to explore that together with
05:18you.
