00:00In Bhatinda, a small initiative born out of personal struggle is offering support to children with developmental challenges.
00:11Babbal Gurg, a mobile accessory shop owner, turned his family's difficult journey into a mission to help others.
00:20Gurg's own child was diagnosed with autism and speech impairment at a young age.
00:28In search of help, the family travelled across different states and spent large sums of money on therapy and care.
00:36Despite their efforts, progress was slow and the financial burden was heavy.
00:43My child is autistic and unable to speak or hear. We went to many places for treatment and spent a lot of money, but the results were very limited.
00:53That experience motivated Gurg to establish the God Gifts Child Welfare Foundation in Bhatinda.
01:01The centre provides structured learning, basic education and supportive therapy activities for children with autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, intellectual disabilities and speech or hearing challenges.
01:15The foundation does not replace medical treatment. Instead, it offers complimentary support in a safe and structured environment while families continue to consult qualified doctors for their children's medical needs.
01:29Children between the ages of five and ten receive individual attention for one to one and a half hours daily depending on their learning pace.
01:49Trained staff members guide them through activities focused on communication, coordination and social interaction.
01:59Families from Punjab and other states regularly visit the centre.
02:04Many parents say the emotional support and structured routine have helped their children adjust better to daily life.
02:12We tried many places earlier, but there was little improvement. After coming here, my child has shown positive changes in learning and behaviour.
02:25The centre operates from a rented building with most expenses covered through personal contributions and voluntary support.
02:33For Gurg, the goal is simple. To ensure that no family feels alone while caring for a child with special needs.
02:43In Bhatinda, one father's determination has created a space of hope, support and dignity for dozens of families.
