00:00In a highly anticipated speech at the World Economic Forum, French President Emmanuel
00:07Macron denounced what he called a shift towards a world without rules. His address comes after
00:13U.S. President Donald Trump published private messages between the two, in which the French
00:18leader expresses confusion over Greenland and proposes hosting a G7 meeting.
00:24If Macron did not directly address Trump but did not shy away from the subject either,
00:29the French leader said it is not time for, quote, new imperialism or new colonialism,
00:34but instead a time of cooperation to fix global challenges.
00:38Europe has very strong tools now and we have to use them when we are not respected and when the
00:45rules of the game are not respected, by the way. The anti-coercion mechanism is a powerful instrument
00:50and we should not hesitate to deploy it in today's tough environment.
00:54Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is worried that the Greenland dispute
01:01could shift attention away from Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
01:06Zelensky urged Washington to continue to engage in diplomatic efforts alongside Europe.
