00:00The session has been suspended by Yael Brown-Pouvet, who is the president of the National Assembly.
00:06Now, she just spoke to us reporters just a minute ago.
00:09I was right there, and she explained that, indeed, this was obviously not a satisfying situation
00:14to have the government forced to, indeed, use and trigger this Article 14.9.3.
00:22She went on to say that, well, there is a real need here in France to get back to a culture
00:28of finding compromise, negotiating solutions.
00:30She said, you know, we've been talking about various taxes,
00:34but nobody's actually been talking about what is the core of a budget,
00:38and that is, of course, how we're going to collect this money and especially how we're going to spend it.
00:43And, indeed, she said that this was exactly what needed to be addressed in months to come,
00:49but that, for now, there was no other solution than to go through this 49.3 procedure,
00:55which means, as she just explained, that, indeed, while the opposition parties will be,
01:01as we say, déposés in French, which is, will be requesting a vote of no confidence,
01:07that this request would be studied in hours to come,
01:11and that, indeed, we could expect a vote in 48 hours, which is what, indeed, the Constitution plans.
01:17So, yes, there will be votes of no confidence.
01:20We're expecting two votes of no confidence to be requested by France unbound on the extreme left
01:27and the national rally on the extreme right.
01:30But, as Yael Brunpivet just said, indeed, the Socialist Party has made it quite clear
01:34that they would be backing the government when it comes to this budget,
01:38which means that these votes should, indeed, probably not topple the government.
01:44Though, you know, that's anybody's guess, you know, there could be a group of rogue members of parliament
01:51on the right or left that could, indeed, decide and choose to vote against the government,
01:56though that is rather unlikely.
