00:00And the International Press Correspondents Association and the National Association of Journalists of Bolivia
00:07expressed concern of the national telecommunications company's decision to pull Telesur and Russia today from their broadcasting networks.
00:14The association stated that this decision, justified on the basis of alleged administrative issues that have not been properly detailed,
00:21values the right of audiences to receive a serious, transparent explanation in line with the responsibility of a state-owned company.
00:29They add that the insufficient explanation provided both in the company's official statement and by customer service
00:35raises legitimate suspicions that this is an unacceptable act of censorship and a violation of freedom of expression.
00:42The statement continues, we believe that respect for plurality of voices and tolerance of diverse and conflicting positions are essential pillars of democracy.
00:51These values must be actively protected and promoted, especially when they are enshrined in the political constitution of the state.
00:58Finally, we urge the Bolivian government to fully guarantee the exercise of freedom of expression,
01:04ensuring respect for the plurality of voices regardless of the type of actors involved,
01:09as well as the right of the people to be informed through the channels they freely choose.
