00:00Rise, ready to go here in San Diego. Let's do it!
00:08Kitchen, squashed in on the inside.
00:11Oh, and he goes down! It's his teammate McAdoo who's fighting with Anstey,
00:15but Kitchen went down on the inside.
00:17Two weeks in a row, he did it at Anaheim 1.
00:21A little better start for Hayden Deegan.
00:26He got through that first curve.
00:28Well, he's wheeling down the start straight.
00:30I thought he was going to be buried, and he's not.
00:33Great start, Cameron McAdoo on the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
00:38The 1.42. This is exactly what he needed.
00:42He's ahead of Deegan and Haymus.
00:44Max Voland is there.
00:46It was Hunter Yoda who went down with Kitchen.
00:48You may have noticed that a little earlier.
00:50Some of these guys need to control their emotions right now.
00:54It's a 15-minute race plus one lap.
00:57A lot of laps left.
00:59Sometimes you've got to keep your composure.
01:01Let the race come to you.
01:06Let's go and find Levi Kitchen.
01:08Where is he?
01:09How far back is he?
01:11There he is right there in the traffic.
01:16Salted. Salted injury.
01:17So, here's the replay.
01:20Decent start up the inside.
01:22Everything is good.
01:23Now, watch.
01:23He just tucks the front end.
01:26Leans the bike over.
01:28Pushes the front, JT.
01:31Ricky, that's a carbon copy of last weekend.
01:33We've talked about it all night long.
01:35It's these little things that are holding him back.
01:38The hard part, the talent, the skill, all the hard work, it's all there for him to be a champion in this class.
01:43But if he continues to put himself in these positions on opening laps, it's almost impossible.
01:49And for Levi Kitchen, no one knows that more than him right now.
01:51So, two weekends in a row, it's nothing but damage control here early.
01:54Well, that's right.
01:55You hit the nail on the head and it's, you know, it's about, you have to predict that.
01:59Especially, I mean, I seem like he would be aware after what happened last week.
02:05And I just hate it for him because these regional championships, you don't have a lot of races.
02:10Oh, look at Hymas.
02:11So, Deegan's gone through to second.
02:13McAdoo is holding on to third.
02:15He's trying to defend that from Hymas who's intensifying the pressure.
02:19Yeah, these regional championships, you don't have a lot of races to dig yourself out of a hole
02:23if you get too far behind on points.
02:30The reason...
02:32I was going to say, great to see Cameron McAdoo out there after last week.
02:38Running up front.
02:39He was asked about the number that he's got.
02:43And there is a bittersweet story.
02:47This is dedicated to a friend when he was young, Isabel Coob,
02:51who was a young motor rider.
02:54She tragically lost her life.
02:56And he said, I want to run this number
02:58and I want to take her to the stadiums under the lights
03:01where she never, you know, got herself.
03:03That's right.
03:04And that's a beautiful message from Cameron McAdoo
03:05who has a child on his way.
03:08He and his wife, Maddie, they have a child on their way here themselves.
03:11Will?
03:11Lee, I'm just looking at Ansi up front, his teammate Hayden Deegan next to him
03:18and then Mosman down in fifth.
03:20The three of them have actually been riding this week, part of the week,
03:24out at Hayden Deegan's new compound that he's had now for a couple of weeks
03:28and he's got a San Diego set up there, a layout.
03:31Now, you'd think after his teammate Max Ansi taking the win last week,
03:34there'd be reason to say, hey, I'm going to keep this to myself.
03:36But no, Hayden Deegan invited those guys over
03:39and they got some time on the track there to get used to
03:41before coming here to Southern California.
03:44Bottom box, Kitchen still working his way through the traffic
03:48and trying to break into the top ten
03:50and he's working on rider DeFrancisco
03:53who was on the podium last week
03:54but the rock star Husky rider's got some work to do.
03:57Well, and Schwartz, that was in the last chance.
04:00He's up in front in the top ten, so good start for him early on in this race.
04:04And Levi right here making some good moves early on.
04:08Those will definitely pay off from a points perspective.
04:13Rider D a little bit further back than last week,
04:15so it's going to be a lot of fun and interesting to see
04:18how far he can also march up the field.
04:25Hey, Ricky, so watching this battle here,
04:27we know the math on the points,
04:29if Hayden Deegan can get around Ansi and win this race or vice versa,
04:32but on the mental aspect of this,
04:35how much value do you put on this for Deegan having to make this pass
04:38after the ride that Ansi put in last weekend?
04:42Not so much.
04:43I think that, you know,
04:44I think that Hayden is super confident in himself and his abilities
04:48and he's good at playing the long game as well,
04:51but I almost think it's bigger for Ansi from a mental side
04:55depending on how the results play out.
04:59Oh, that was an interesting line that Levi took,
05:02but it worked out well.
05:03But I think it's bigger mentally for Max,
05:05depending on if he wins or gets overtaken by his teammate.
05:09So it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
05:12Max is holding him at base,
05:13but about a half second there.
05:15Great question.
05:15Whoa, a little bubble there for Hayden Deegan,
05:18but he hung onto it through the whoops over the tabletop.
05:21This is where Deegan's been blisteringly fast right through there.
05:25And if you're Max, you know,
05:26I talked about it,
05:27said the same thing in the heat race, Lee,
05:29that Max just needs to ride his pace.
05:33And if he gets overtaken by his teammate,
05:35you play, you know,
05:36you play the championship game,
05:38live the fight another day,
05:39and it's a good points day.
05:41Oh, here goes a pass.
05:42For the lead, the teammates,
05:46Monster Energy star Yamaha.
05:49Almost a carving copy.
05:50That was good for Hayden to roll out there.
05:53How hard will Anstey fight this?
05:55He's looking over, he's looking over.
05:57Oh, and his front wheel gets taken out from under him.
06:00Oh, that's tough.
06:02Hayden slid his rear tire up
06:04into Max's front tire.
06:08Takes Max down.
06:09He's going to have to get going.
06:10Doesn't lose too many spots right here.
06:12McAdoo went by.
06:13Hymas went by.
06:14Moseman went by.
06:16So now the catch-up,
06:18he's got just under nine minutes
06:20as he adjusts his clutch
06:21to get back up and fight for a podium.
06:25Meanwhile, McAdoo and Hymas are still going at it.
06:27Now we're talking about second and third
06:29instead of third and fourth.
06:31Great ride for Hymas as well.
06:33And, you know,
06:34you talk about Hymas' career and journey
06:36and what that's been like.
06:37I think it'd be super important for him.
06:39Number one, he said he wanted to make it
06:40through the whole season.
06:41Hasn't been able to do that.
06:43This is a contract here.
06:44Just let these races come to him
06:46and be there every single weekend
06:48up on that box
06:50and continue to build.
06:53I think it'd be huge.
06:54Looks like he's doing that right now.
06:58Doesn't look like he's on the limit right now,
07:00like he's overriding the machine.
07:02It's very comfortable.
07:07Hunter-Yoda, what a shame.
07:09Had a brilliant heat race
07:11and he is back on the edge of the track.
07:16It's game done and he is frustrated.
07:20Can't believe it.
07:22Back to it though.
07:23Deegan McAdoo, Hymas, top three.
07:24Mosman, Anstey.
07:25Then Levi Kitchen has made his way
07:27all the way back up to sixth
07:29ahead of Ryder DeFrancisco
07:31and then Lux Turner
07:32who's having a good run in the top ten.
07:34This will be better.
07:35This could be a career best for Lux
07:37if he stays there
07:38ahead of Dylan Schwartz
07:39and Anthony Burden.
07:42And we're over the halfway mark.
07:44Quick reminder to stock up
07:45on Monster Energy drinks
07:46at Ralph's.
07:51We mentioned about the move
07:53by this man, Chance Hymas,
07:55back closer to being with family.
07:57It was an important off-season move
07:58away from Florida.
08:00Let's hear more about that now
08:01from the man himself.
08:04Yeah, I'm still spending time
08:05in both places
08:06but ultimately for me
08:07it's just being close to family.
08:09Growing up and doing so much
08:10with my parents and my family
08:12and my brothers
08:12racing as an amateur
08:14and kind of moving away from that
08:15and being 36 hours across the country
08:17it's hard, you know.
08:19And I love being around my family
08:20and it brings a lot of value
08:21to my life.
08:22So I think ultimately for me
08:24it's just made me happier
08:25and obviously when you're happy
08:26and you're doing your job
08:27everything just kind of
08:28goes smoothly sometimes.
08:29So I think for me
08:31it's just been a good mood change
08:32being back with those guys
08:33and being around my family
08:34and, you know,
08:36just kind of making the grind simple.
08:38Yeah, so far so good
08:40for making that change.
08:42And you know what,
08:42I give kudos to him
08:43for recognizing
08:44what he needed to do
08:47to try to make some
08:48improvements there.
08:49and you know what,
08:50everybody has their own thing
08:52that makes him feel comfortable
08:53and for him
08:54it's a family
08:55and again,
08:56looking pretty good.
08:57Will?
08:58He's looking really good,
08:59isn't he?
08:59And the comfort, Ricky,
09:01that you talked about
09:02and you just mentioned there,
09:03that's matched in his bike
09:05and where he's at
09:05with the team too.
09:06I was chatting to them earlier
09:08and they said
09:08he hasn't touched the bike.
09:10He basically went back
09:11to Mesquite
09:12at the beginning of this week,
09:13rode there all week,
09:14haven't touched anything.
09:15Since last weekend,
09:16it was just a clicker
09:17here and there
09:18which they then went back on
09:19for the main event
09:20so just in a happy place
09:21in himself
09:22and in a good spot
09:22on the bike.
09:23Yeah, when I'm watching
09:24him right here,
09:25he seems to have
09:26some good composure
09:27and he's not pushing it,
09:30overriding the bike.
09:32I mean,
09:32he's just as fast
09:33as Cameron
09:33but it seems like
09:34he's letting it come to him
09:35and waiting for that
09:36opportunity to open.
09:38As I say that,
09:39he slips up in that
09:40double going into
09:41the corner right there
09:42but still,
09:43I like the patience
09:44that he's showing.
09:45A lot of racing left here.
09:47Anything can happen
09:48but I'll tell you what,
09:50Moseman's knocking on the door.
09:52He's made up some time
09:53on these two guys.
09:54And he's in fifth.
09:55This is exactly
09:56where he finished last week.
09:58Here he is.
09:59He's starting to make
10:00some meaningful ground
10:01on Chance Hymas.
10:03And then how about
10:04Max Anstey?
10:05Where's Max?
10:06When does he join the picture?
10:08We'll see.
10:08There's just under five minutes
10:10plus a lap to go
10:11in this San Diego
10:12250 West main event.
10:13Max is, you know,
10:1613 seconds off the lead
10:18and about five seconds
10:21back from this group
10:23right here.
10:23So he's got a lot of work
10:25to try to catch these guys.
10:26Something's going to happen.
10:27Has to happen for that.
10:28We've spoken about this
10:29before with Michael Moseman.
10:30He is a pretty talented pianist.
10:33Loves playing the piano.
10:35Right.
10:35So he gave the folks
10:37at Orange County Airport
10:38last Sunday morning
10:39when we were all there
10:40for our respective
10:41early morning flights.
10:43He decided to jump on the piano
10:45for the folks in the airport.
10:46I saw that.
10:46I think the GT sent us that, right?
10:48Yeah, it was pretty good.
10:50I mean, one night racing
10:51Supercross
10:52next morning
10:53playing the piano
10:54in the airport.
10:55Love it.
10:56Absolutely love it.
10:58A skillful man,
10:59that's for sure.
11:01Many talents.
11:03And a good, solid start
11:05to this 2026 season.
11:07If he can stay where he is
11:08in the top five,
11:08back-to-back top fives,
11:10that's nothing to sneeze at
11:11for a new campaign
11:12for a rider that's dealt with
11:13a lot of injury
11:15and a lot of highs and lows.
11:17So this play,
11:18San Diego's been kind to it.
11:20This is where he won before
11:21so he can continue
11:22to see if he can
11:23continue the positive vibes here.
11:25Meanwhile, his teammate.
11:26Oh, look.
11:27McAdoo has slowed
11:28and through goes Heimus.
11:29McAdoo tries to respond
11:31and does respond.
11:32Nice work, Cameron McAdoo.
11:34Great pass back
11:35by Cameron McAdoo
11:36like you just talked about
11:37right there, Lee.
11:38I didn't anticipate
11:39that happening
11:40once Heimus
11:41made the move
11:42but he cuts back underneath,
11:43gets a good drive,
11:44triples into the corner
11:45to get back
11:47into second position.
11:49See what happens now
11:50with Moseman
11:50catching Heimus.
11:51It puts the pressure
11:52on Heimus
11:53to start getting it done.
11:55Remember I was talking
11:56about how Heimus
11:57kind of looked like
11:58he was playing it cool
11:59behind McAdoo.
12:00Well, now he's going
12:01to have to get
12:02a little aggressive
12:02and start showing
12:04that front wheel
12:05in some of these corners
12:06trying to force McAdoo
12:08into a mistake.
12:10Otherwise,
12:10he's going to get
12:11passed by Moseman.
12:14Cameron only did
12:15three Supercross races
12:16last year
12:17because of that knee surgery
12:18and he was on the podium
12:20the very first race
12:22last year
12:22when he did
12:22the East Division Championship.
12:24So this is going
12:25to be huge.
12:26A long time
12:27off the bike.
12:28Not much racing
12:29over the last 12 months.
12:31So this is massive
12:32and here's Moseman
12:33on Heimus!
12:34Heimus!
12:35Wow.
12:36That is a huge escape.
12:38That was scary
12:40to see on my...
12:41Oh boy,
12:41you see him.
12:43The body English
12:44he was doing.
12:44That bike was rotating
12:45him to go over
12:48the handlebars
12:49and that was
12:49an incredible save.
12:53And look,
12:54here is Max Anstey
12:56and Levi Kitchen
12:57going at it.
12:58I mean,
13:00he's got to think
13:00his lucky stars
13:01that he ended
13:02in the tough blocks
13:03or it didn't end up
13:04a lot worse.
13:05That was an incredible save.
13:06The strength
13:07that he had to have
13:08that had over the bars
13:10written all over it.
13:11And that jump
13:12is so short
13:13and steep.
13:14I'm surprised
13:15we haven't seen it more
13:15but watch our
13:16seat bounce at
13:17compresses
13:17the suspension
13:18look at it.
13:19Wow.
13:20I mean,
13:21if he was
13:22two inches shorter
13:23that bike goes
13:25over the handlebars.
13:27Unbelievable.
13:29Save
13:30and here's Kitchen
13:31on the inside
13:31of Anstey.
13:32Anstey's getting
13:33the rough treatment
13:34tonight.
13:35First from his
13:36teammate
13:36and then from
13:38Levi Kitchen.
13:39So the A1 winner
13:40gets shuffled
13:41back again.
13:45And remember
13:45Kitchen was
13:46on the ground
13:47turn one
13:48lap one
13:49and has
13:50fought his
13:50way back
13:51to fourth.
13:52A lot like
13:52he did last week.
13:54Remember he caught
13:54up through the pack
13:55right here
13:56and we talked
13:58about it.
13:58These guys
13:58are so similar
13:59in speed
14:00that if you give up
14:01that track position
14:02early,
14:02it's going to be hard
14:03to make up
14:04a lot of ground
14:05and I'm going to
14:06flatten out
14:07right here
14:07in the fourth position.
14:09going to have about
14:13two more laps
14:14left.
14:15Got two and a half
14:16laps left
14:17to go once
14:18they cross
14:18the stripe.
14:20We haven't spoken
14:21about the race
14:21leader, Hayden Deegan,
14:22in quite a while
14:23and he has a
14:24massive lead
14:25over Cameron McAdoo
14:27and then his star
14:28Yamaha teammate
14:29Michael Moseman
14:30who has one foot
14:31on the podium.
14:33Here is
14:33McAdoo and Moseman.
14:37Two guys
14:37who will gladly
14:38take a podium.
14:40This is such
14:40a feel good story
14:41for both of these guys.
14:43You think about
14:43Lee like you were
14:44talking about
14:45the injuries
14:47that both of these
14:48riders have had.
14:49They're a bit older.
14:51Some of the older
14:52riders in this
14:53250 West division
14:54as well
14:54and just to see them
14:55the resiliency
14:57and bounce back.
15:00Going to go back
15:00to Arlington
15:01mid Supercross
15:02season
15:03last year
15:04was the last time
15:05Michael Moseman
15:06stood on a podium
15:07and even longer
15:08for Cameron McAdoo
15:09as I mentioned
15:09a little earlier.
15:11So this is huge
15:13for these two riders
15:13respective seasons.
15:15Kitchens right there
15:17a couple seconds off
15:19you can see right there
15:19poked into the screen.
15:22Well
15:22and that
15:23underscores
15:25what an amazing
15:26comeback rider
15:27this beat
15:27from Levi Kitchen.
15:29Final lap
15:29white flag
15:30has been displayed
15:31Hayden Deegan
15:32is on his way home.
15:35What a ride
15:36by Hayden
15:36going to be
15:37interesting to see
15:38what Max
15:39has to say
