"Artist Statement"
People, places, and things are never permanent — they fade, break, and transform over time. Yet, within their decay lies a quiet beauty. My artwork serves as a visual archive of the old and dying buildings of my village, Jodhpur, where I was born. Through printmaking, I explore the charm hidden in their broken walls, peeled paint, and faded shades. These structures mirror fragments of my own memories — moments of joy, loss, and growth.

In my creative process, I merge digital experimentation and photography, using photographs I have personally captured. I incorporate, manual engraving, laser engraving techniques and print on archival paper that I make myself. My practice is entirely experimental, involving the exploration of unconventional materials and techniques.

I have also developed my own charcoal from keekar wood, which produces a distinctive tonal quality. When used in powdered form, it doesn’t create a flat black tone but reveals subtle light brown shades, adding depth and warmth to the surface. By blending traditional printmaking methods with contemporary digital tools and my self-made materials, I aim to preserve not just the physical traces of time, but also the emotional echoes that live within them.
