00:00In the land of Hyrkania, people live in harmony with nature. Unfortunately when the barbarian
00:04King Anzus rises to power, he starts bringing destruction everywhere. One day, Anzus' army
00:09attacks the village of a young girl named Sonia, leaving almost no survivors. Many years later,
00:14an adult Sonia is looking for other members of her tribe. She keeps a map of the forest and marks the
00:19spots she's already visited. At a lake, she finds a statue of the forest goddess and prays to her
00:23before taking a bath. At that moment some beautiful creatures run nearby because they're being hunted
00:27by mercenaries. Sonia and her horse immediately hide and don't come out until the mercenaries are gone.
00:33Later they find all these creatures dead on the ground without their horns. After riding for several
00:37hours, Sonia finds a small kingdom under attack. She makes her horse wait in the forest and sneaks
00:41around the village until she sees the mercenaries pushing a huge creature into a cage. Suddenly a
00:46horn is blown and Emperor Dragan arrives with his soldiers, a terrifying vehicle, and his assassin
00:50Anesia. It turns out the mercenaries have been collecting exotic creatures for the Emperor's
00:54gladiator games, so Dragan looks at the cages to approve of the results. Then Dragan checks the
00:59prisoners and makes his soldiers bring out the leader. He explains that he met this man many
01:03years ago when he was a slave, and the guy spat on him. Dragan is looking for the missing half of
01:07the Book of Secrets and wants to enter the Hyrkanian forest, so the man warns him that only people
01:11accepted by the gods can go there. However Dragan doesn't believe in gods, he believes in knowledge
01:16and science. After yelling at the man for having faith, Dragan tells General Karloch to kill him.
01:20Meanwhile Sonja continues to sneak around and finds two mercenaries torturing a beast in a cage.
01:25She calls them out for their cruelty before quickly stabbing them both to death. Then she
01:29tries to open the cage, but she's stopped by Anesia putting a sword to her neck. Sonja pushes
01:33the sword away and steps back while Anesia tells her that the whole forest will be gone soon. At that
01:38moment the voices in Anesia's head tell her to kill, so she attacks Sonja. The women start fighting,
01:43showing off impressive skills with their weapons. However Anesia is still better with a sword and manages to
01:47disarm Sonja, who counterattacks by grabbing Anesia's legs to bring her down. A crowd gathers
01:52around them as they continue to fight on the ground and Sonja manages to get Anesia in a chokehold.
01:56When Dragan sees this, he says it's good entertainment. Suddenly Sonja is distracted
02:00by her horse coming for her, so Karloch knocks her out. Sometime later Sonja wakes up in the
02:05invader's tent tied to a cross. Dragan asks her some questions but since she won't talk, Karloch pokes
02:10her wounds with a sword to torture her. When Dragan steals her map, Sonja pulls her hand free in fury
02:15and grabs him by his clothes, so Anesia points her sword at her to make her back off. Dragan tells
02:20her not to kill Sonja because he wants her to participate in the gladiator games. As Sonja
02:24passes out again, she dreams of the day her village was attacked. Her mother told her to take the
02:28children and run to the forest. Little Sonja ran around to try to rescue other kids, but the invaders
02:32were everywhere and she couldn't reach anyone. Then she had to watch her mother being killed. The next
02:36time Sonja wakes up, she's in a cage with other slaves. The wagons take them to the capital, where Sonja has
02:42to watch some men whip her horse. Furious, she starts beating the guards up until she frees herself,
02:47then she uses her chains to capture the man with the whip. She brings him down and tries to kill him,
02:51but the soldiers capture her and throw her back in the cage, where she passes out again.
02:55Sometime later Sonja awakens and is shocked to see her mother in front of her. However it's just an
02:59illusion caused by her dreaming, it's actually just an old lady. A startled Sonja grabs her by the neck and
03:04puts a knife to her neck, trying to use her as a shield. The other slaves explain that she's in the
03:08Damnoti pits, where life has no value and there's no escape. If she kills the old lady, nobody will
03:14care. The captain takes her knife and tells her to calm down or he'll have to whip her. Meanwhile
03:18Maester Crudeless wonders why Dragan is so obsessed with the Hyrkanian forest. Dragan explains that when
03:23King Anzus exterminated the Hyrkanians, the survivors fled into the forest and took half of the book of
03:27secrets. Dragan has the other half which has already helped him achieve many scientific feats,
03:32but he wants more. There's a message in the book in a code that only Dragan has deciphered,
03:36which says that a child with all the knowledge within will rule the world. Dragan thinks this
03:39prophecy is about him, so he wants to know how it ends. In the evening, Sonja keeps trying to
03:44escape the pit by climbing the wall. The slaves thinks it's ridiculous because nobody has ever
03:48made it to the top, but Sonja proves them wrong. Soon she reaches the top and leaves the pit, only to
03:53be surrounded by guards. She beats up a few of them and even throws one down the pit, but they keep
03:58coming and eventually surround her to capture her again. Afterward Sonja finds herself chained to her bed.
04:02The other slaves tell her that to be free, she has to win all the fights in the arena. They share that
04:07Annesia used to be a slave and won her freedom, but rumors say the voices she hears are the ghosts of
04:11all the people she killed. In the castle, Annesia discovers she's almost out of medicine, and hides
04:16her empty bottles when Dragan enters the room. She reminds him that he promised he would cure her
04:20and Dragan says he will, but she can't become his empress until she's sane. He gives her a new bottle
04:24of medicine and she drinks it all. After he leaves, Annesia thinks she sees ghosts in the mirror.
04:29The next morning the slaves start training for the games. Sonja meets Osun, who is known as the
04:34Untouched because he hasn't been touched by a blade since he was captured. He dares Sonja to change that
04:38and get him as the prize. Petra tells Sonja she shouldn't make friends because she never knows
04:42who she may have to fight later. When the games begin, the slaves surround the blacksmith and try
04:46to get good weapons. Since Sonja is new, she only gets a wooden sword and shield, plus really stupid
04:51bikini armor. The arena is packed and everyone cheers for another brutal death. Eventually Sonja and Petra are sent
04:57out, but Sonja refuses to kill an innocent woman for entertainment and wants to fight the emperor
05:01instead. Dragan laughs and makes a gesture to his guards, who shoot arrows at Petra. Sonja runs to
05:06her side and apologizes before she dies. Soldiers then burst into the arena, so Sonja grabs Petra's
05:11better sword and starts fighting them. She brings the first guy down by slashing his legs, then she takes
05:16his knife since it's her weapon of choice. Now she can quickly kill the soldiers one by one by stabbing them
05:21in their exposed spots. In just a few minutes, she manages to defeat them all and the crowd celebrates
05:25her victory. Even Dragan is impressed. Before leaving, Sonja takes Petra's necklace. Later in
05:31the pit Sonja gives the necklace to Petra's grieving boyfriend Hawk. Osin dedicates a toast to all the
05:35slaves that died today and Sonja sings a traditional hymn of her tribe in their memory. To her surprise,
05:40Dayix knows the lyrics and sings along. The next day Crudeless shows Dragan an artifact called the yoke,
05:45which he attaches to a forest beast's head using electricity. Dragan tests it by using a remote control,
05:50which makes the beast go crazy. He's satisfied with the result, but he wants the yoke to work
05:54on humans too. Crudeless has been experimenting on slaves, however the yoke killed them all.
05:59Dragan thinks that finding the other half of the book will allow them to finish this project and
06:02create a whole army of yoke-controlled humans. Next Crudeless shows him a flaming orb, which is
06:07now powering the whole city. He promises that soon they'll be able to use it for weapons too.
06:11In the pit, Dayix asks Sonja how she knows the song since she doesn't look Hyrkanian.
06:15He then realizes she's from the forest tribe and reveals that there's a group of survivors
06:19living in the heart of the woods. Sonja cries at the news and says they have to escape. Their
06:23conversation is interrupted when the captain tells her she's wanted at the palace. Sonja is forced
06:28to wear the bikini again and put in a cage, which is dragged to the great hall where Dragan is holding
06:32a banquet. He shows Sonja a map of the continent, which marks all the areas his armies have conquered.
06:36Dragan announces her forest is next and shows her the book, which triggers a memory of her tribe
06:41using the other half during rituals. That night, Sonja dreams of those rituals and her mother
06:45telling her to protect the book. Dragan kills her mother and steals the book before Sonja wakes up,
06:49determined not to let the dream come true. Later in the arena, the slaves are forced to
06:53fight mercenaries on horseback. They clearly have a disadvantage, so they work together to
06:58attack the horses and make them fall to bring down the humans at the same time. The captain
07:01comes looking for more slaves to send out and Sonja complains because she isn't chosen,
07:05so the captain tells her that Dragan forbade her from fighting because he wants her to watch
07:08everyone else die. Sonja asks Osin to protect Dayix, then she goes to see the blacksmith and asks for
07:13better equipment. The blacksmith refuses so Sonja threatens him, and the blacksmith changes his
07:18mind when he realizes Sonja is the only person who remembers his name. Afterward Sonja ignores
07:22the captain and enters the arena anyway. Two mercenaries on horses come after her,
07:26but Dragan protects her by making his guards shoot them both. Sonja furiously reminds him that she's
07:30here to fight, but Dragan only wants her to tell him where the last her kanions are. If she doesn't
07:35talk, all the slaves will die. The guards bring every single slave out before Dragan uses the remote
07:40control to open a platform on the ground, which reveals a huge cyclop with the yoke on the back
07:44of its neck. Dragan uses the control again to make the beast attack the slaves. Everyone starts running
07:49but the cyclop still manages to headbutt a few slaves, causing them to fall into the abyss.
07:53Hawk tries to attack the beast and is easily brought down. When Osin attacks next, the cyclop sends him
07:58flying over the edge. Then Sonja notices the yoke and makes a big jump to land on the cyclop's back,
08:03managing to hold on by stabbing it with her knives. As the cyclop begins to freak out,
08:07Sonja uses all her strength to pull the yoke off. The cyclop only calms down and lowers its body,
08:12causing Sonja to fall off. Then it brings down its fist, punching the ground right next to her.
08:17Sonja begs it to stop and explains she isn't its enemy, the emperor is. The cyclop runs toward the
08:22stands and smashes them with its horns, causing the crowd to run away. The collapse of the structure
08:26still kills a few civilians, but Dragan moves out of the way at the last second and Karloch takes him
08:31away. In the arena, the slaves are mourning the loss of Osin, but at the moment he climbs back up
08:35and announces he's still untouched. Sonja points at a tunnel created by the cyclop's destruction
08:40and tells her friends to run, promising to meet them later at the White Chapel.
08:43Afterward Sonja sneaks back inside and starts fighting the guards, killing them one by one
08:47while asking them where about her horse. The whole group dies and it's the last guy who finally talks.
08:52Sonja rushes to Crudeless Lab and the workers there run away in fear. She looks at all the experiments
08:56and the flaming orb before finally finding her horse in a cage. After freeing it, she throws a sword
09:01at the orb. The lights and the palace flicker for a few seconds before the lab blows up. The explosion
09:06is so big that it hits the Great Hall, breaking the windows and bringing everyone down. Dragan survives
09:11with a few injuries but Crudeless dies when a glass shard stabs him in the neck. As Dragan grieves for
09:15his right hand, Anesha tells him that she's already sent scouts after Sonja. In the morning, Sonja reunites
09:20with her friends and they all leave together. However in the middle of the journey, Osin announces he must
09:25take a different road. It turns out he's a prince and Dragan captured him when he attacked his kingdom,
09:29so Osin wants to go back and rebuild. Sonja leans in pretending she's about to kiss him,
09:33but she actually slashes his arm with her knife so he isn't untouched anymore. Later the group makes
09:37camp to rest and take care of their injuries. Sonja and Dayx are excited about finding their
09:42people and share stories of their childhoods. At that moment one of the slaves comes back from
09:46exploring with one of the scouts. She killed all the others and brought this one for interrogation.
09:50The scout tells Sonja that Dragan's party has been following them and is only one day behind.
09:54Sonja kills the man before talking to Dayx in private. She tells him to go and find their
09:58people alone, explaining she can't go with him because she'd reveal their location to Dragan too.
10:03After Dayx leaves, Sonja tries to ask the slaves to go too, but they refuse to let her fight alone.
10:08Sometime later Dragan discovers that one of his settlements has been attacked by Sonja's group,
10:12leaving everything in ashes. His army will be there in a day or two, so Dragan is starting to lose his
10:17mind. Annesia calls him weak and they end up arguing, only to be interrupted by Sonja appearing nearby.
10:22She throws a soldier's head on the ground and promises to make things worse if Dragan keeps sending scouts.
10:27In return, Carlock throws Dayx's head. That night, Sonja sees a group of people approaching her team's
10:32camp. She gets her bow ready to shoot, but she's startled by a man who reveals that they're the
10:36lost Hyrkanians. Sonja runs to reunite with her people and even gets to hug a woman from her village
10:41named Hayspera. They explain that they did see Dayx, but they didn't have enough men to fight the
10:45soldiers and save him. These Hyrkanians have the other half of the book and tell Sonja how it happened.
10:50The day of the attack, a boy hid in the temple and watched a priest trying to save the book. However a
10:54soldier attacked the priest and tried to take the book, which was torn in half by the struggle.
10:58Hayspera surprised the soldier from behind and killed him before taking one of the halves,
11:02but she had to run before she could take the other one too. The little boy picked up the other half
11:06and hid it before the soldiers captured him. Later in the slave cell, the boy read the book
11:10and learned all its secrets, which allowed him to escape from slavery and become Emperor Dragan.
11:14Now the Hyrkanians want to hide with the book, but Sonja points out that Dragan will never stop
11:18looking for them. She convinces the group to take a stand to finally put an end to this war.
11:22Moments later, they surround the settlement and learn that Dragan's army has arrived with plenty
11:26of advanced weapons. The men start firing the cannons and Sonja's group has to run while the
11:30explosions set the forest on fire. While the soldiers invade the forest, Dragan tells Annesia he'll marry
11:35her if she brings him Sonja's head. In the woods, Sonja's group hides behind trees and under bushes
11:40until the soldiers are close enough to ambush them. A brutal battle begins while the flames continue to
11:44spread and cause explosions. Soon both sides are losing fighters by the second. When Sonja's group
11:49manages to gain the upper hand, she tells her people to run to lead the enemy deeper into the trees.
11:53A few soldiers go after Sonja, so she has to fight them alone. After killing them or dodging them all,
11:58she sees Annesia arrive. The women start fighting with their swords and it looks like their skills
12:03are equal, but Annesia manages to overpower Sonja and slashes her body a few times. Sonja refuses to
12:08give up and strikes Annesia back on the neck. Nearby Hawk bumps into Karloch and decides to fight him
12:12one-on-one. They exchange a few punches and even headbutts before Karloch strikes Hawk with his axe and
12:17stabs him with a sword. At the same time, Annesia stabs Sonja with her sword as well. When she is
12:22about to decapitate her, Annesia is tackled by Sonja's horse, who then lies down with its mistress.
12:27Sonja climbs on top of it and rides away. Later at the lake, Sonja thinks she sees her mother next to
12:32the statue. However this is the actual goddess, who tells her the earth is bleeding and they can't
12:36let Dragan win. Sonja points out she always prayed for nothing, so the goddess explains that Sonja had to
12:41find her strength to accept her destiny. Then the goddess immerses Sonja in the lake to heal her
12:45injuries, telling her that the fate of the world is in her hands. Meanwhile the survivors of Sonja's
12:50group have been captured. Hespera calls Dragan by his original Hyrkanium name and he slaps her,
12:54saying that the little scared boy is dead. He accuses Hespera of abandoning him and cries as
12:59he shakes her head until she admits it. When he checks her bag, he finally finds the other half
13:03of the book and sees it as proof that the prophecy is true. He orders the mercenary leader to kill her,
13:07but the man refuses to touch a priestess. Dragan grabs a sword and gets ready to kill Hespera
13:12himself but at that moment an arrow kills a guard. To everyone's surprise, Sonja appears with a much
13:17more vibrant red in her hair. At the same time Osun arrives with his army. As the soldiers rush
13:21to fight the intruders, the prisoners use the chance to break free and join the battle. A former
13:26slave tackles Karloch and bites his neck to finally kill him. Since Dragan's men lost many soldiers
13:30last night, Osun's army easily overpowers them and they are forced to retreat. The front gate has been locked,
13:35but Sonja just climbs the wall and makes it to the tower where she starts killing soldiers without
13:39mercy. Men on the ground also see her, so she shoots arrows at them before jumping down to fight them,
13:44easily bringing them down one by one with her incredible new strength. Inside a building,
13:48Dragan reads the other half of the book and is disappointed to discover it only talks about
13:52healing, medicine, and balance in nature, which he considers all useless. He then falls to his knees
13:57and begs Annesia to fight Sonja, but Annesia refuses because she's scared of someone capable of
14:01coming back from a deadly wound. Dragan tells her that she'll never be Empress unless she protects him
14:05and calls her a coward, saying that the voices in her head agree with him. Annesia snaps and demands
14:10to know why he can hear them, so he admits he put the voices in her head because he didn't want to
14:14share his throne. Annesia realizes that the medicine bottles have actually been potions to drive her
14:18crazy, so she furiously pulls out her sword and stabs Dragan. When she looks down, she discovers he
14:23stabbed her too, and they collapse together. Outside, Sonja continues to fight the soldiers until there are
14:28none left. By the time she enters the building, Dragan is already gone. Annesia tells her that the voices
14:33are finally quiet before she dies. In the forest, a bleeding Dragan falls off his horse. When Sonja
14:39starts looking for him, she finds bloodstained book pages on the ground and follows them until she
14:43finds Dragan at an old sacred place. He's ripping pages of the book while saying it isn't a useful
14:47weapon anymore, so Sonja explains that the book was never a weapon. He twisted it into one and became
14:52a tyrant just like King Annesia. Sonja makes a list of all of Dragan's crimes, but she also apologizes
14:57for not helping him when the village was attacked. Dragan admits he's scared of death, so Sonja holds his
15:01hand while he finally reaches his end. Afterward she returns to the settlement with Dragan's body
15:06and tells her people to bury him as Hyrkanian for the boy he was and not the man he became.
15:10However she won't return to the forest with them because she lived there all her life,
15:13so now she wants to go out and see the world. Many months later, Sonja is having fun at a tavern,
15:18impressing everyone with her skills. She's interrupted by Osin, who brings bad news and says her people need
15:23her, so she leaves with him.
