00:00President Donald Trump is on day two of his four-day visit to the U.K. and the Brits
00:03have welcomed him with massive protests and a giant balloon baby in his likeness.
00:08The Stop Trump rally has been in the works ever since the president's U.K. trip came to
00:12light last year, with more than 10,000 initially expected to show, many traveling
00:16from across the country, as police anticipated the biggest turnout since the
00:20demonstrations against the Iraq war in 2002. The organizers, however, identified the
00:25turn out to be 250,000 people once the protests began outside the BBC headquarters
00:30on Portland Place at 2 p.m. local time. Joining the march down Regent Street was
00:34Oscar winner Mark Rylance, who earlier in the week spoke at an event about the
00:38importance of showing dissent, saying to not protest would be a disaster and that the
00:43U.K. shouldn't underestimate the effect we have in standing up and saying,
00:46no thank you Mr. Trump, there's another way forward, a way together, a way with hope.
00:50Earlier in the day, Trump baby, a 20-foot-tall helium-filled blimp depicting Trump
00:55as an angry orange infant at its maiden voyage floating above Parliament Square with
00:59hundreds of cheering spectators in attendance. Organizers of the blimp, which has
01:03become arguably the most famous symbol of the U.K. protest and caused a stir on both
01:07sides of the Atlantic, now plan to take it on a world tour following the president
01:11wherever he goes and trolling Donald from the skies. London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has
01:16been personally attacked several times by Trump over Twitter, had been heavily
01:20criticized, most notably by Rudy Giuliani, for allowing the Trump baby to fly, but he
01:25defended his decision on BBC Radio saying, can you imagine if we limited freedom of
01:29speech because somebody's feelings might be hurt? As for POTUS himself, Trump was
01:33nowhere near either his inflatable alter ego or the protests being held in his honor.
01:37Before arriving in the U.K. for his first visit to the country as the U.S.
01:41President, Trump sparked headlines on Thursday with an incendiary exclusive
01:45interview with tabloid The Sun, in which he again attacked Khan for doing a bad job on
01:49terrorism and immigration, something Khan as London Mayor has little responsibility for.
01:54The commander-in-chief also criticized Prime Minister Theresa May's policy regarding
01:58Brexit and said she had ignored his advice and endorsed her chief rival Boris Johnson,
02:02who resigned last week as foreign secretary.
02:05However, Trump acknowledged the protest, telling The Sun that he was spending as little
02:09time in London as possible as a result.
02:11While the president was happy to speak to The Sun for an interview that commentators noted
02:22ignored all the usual diplomatic etiquette and conventions, he showed CNN no such love.
02:27During a joint press conference on Friday with May, Trump refused to take a question from
02:32CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta, who argued that CNN deserved to get a question
02:37because the president had just criticized the network. Trump moved on instead to Fox News
02:42White House correspondent John Roberts.
02:44CNN's fake news, I don't take questions. I don't take questions from CNN.
02:48CNN is fake news, I don't take questions from CNN. John Roberts of Fox.
