00:00One morning, Henry was feeling very sorry for himself.
00:06Sometimes he could pull trains, but sometimes he felt he had no strength at all.
00:12I suffer dreadfully and no one cares.
00:18Rubbish, Henry, snorted James. You don't work hard enough.
00:29Sir Topham Hatt spoke to him, too.
00:31What's wrong with you, Henry? You have had lots of new parts and new paint, too, but they've done you no good.
00:37If we can't make you better, we must get another engine instead of you to do the work.
00:42This made Henry, his driver and fireman, very sad.
00:50Sir Topham Hatt was waiting when Henry came to the platform.
00:53He had taken off his hat and coat and put on overalls.
00:58Henry managed to start, but his fireman was not satisfied.
01:02Henry is a bad steamer, he said to Sir Topham Hatt.
01:05I build up his fire, but it doesn't give enough heat.
01:10Henry tried very hard, but it was no good.
01:16He didn't have enough steam and came to a stop outside Edward's station.
01:25Oh dear, thought Henry. I shall have to go away. Oh dear, oh dear.
01:34All he could do was to go slowly onto a siding, and Edward took charge of the train.
01:45Sir Topham Hatt and the fireman went on discussing Henry's troubles.
01:49What do you think is wrong, fireman? asked Sir Topham Hatt.
01:53Excuse me, sir, he answered, but the fact is the coal is wrong.
01:57We've had a poor lot lately, and today it's worse.
02:00The other engines can manage. They have big fireboxes.
02:03Henry's is small and can't make the heat.
02:06With Welsh coal, he'd be a different engine.
02:09It's expensive, said Sir Topham Hatt, but Henry must have a fair chance.
02:15James shall go and fetch some.
02:26When the Welsh coal came, Henry's driver and fireman were excited.
02:31Now we'll show them, Henry, old fellow.
02:34They carefully made his fire, putting large lumps of coal like a wall round the outside.
02:42Then the glowing middle part was covered with smaller lumps.
02:46You're spoiling my fire, complained Henry.
02:51Wait and see, said the fireman. We'll have a roaring fire just when we want it.
02:57The fireman was right.
03:00When Henry reached the platform, the water was boiling nicely, and he had to let off steam.
03:06How are you, Henry?
03:08Beep, beep, beep. I feel fine.
03:11Have you a good fire, driver?
03:13Never better, sir, and plenty of steam.
03:16No record breaking, warned Sir Topham Hatt.
03:19Don't push him too hard.
03:20Henry won't need pushing, sir. I'll have to hold him back.
03:24Henry had a lovely day. He had never felt so well in his life.
03:49He wanted to go fast, but his driver wouldn't let him.
03:54Steady, old fellow, he would say. There's plenty of time.
04:02They arrived early at the station. Thomas puffed in.
04:07Where have you been, lazy bones, asked Henry.
04:10Oh, I can't wait for dawdling tank engines like you. Goodbye.
04:14Whoosh, said Thomas to the coaches.
04:22Have you ever seen anything like it?
04:24Both Annie and Clarabelle agreed that they never had.
04:28What to come about, ever.
04:30That's not a doubt.
04:31You're having to keep going fast.
04:33I know I've got them.
04:34It might have an accident, because I've been there.
04:37But don't want that.
04:38Some guys over there are times saying,
04:41you know troublesome swell when broad things get low.
04:44You can't see controller checkattack.
