The maturity comment has more to do with the script and the fact that she is drunk... She has little self-confidence so it's not so much maturity or lack thereof but, lack of feeling beautiful and being a sexual being.

Yes indeed very childish however these 20ish year olds of today lack a lot of critical thinking, emotional intelligence and maturity. Technology has ruined them and many don’t know how to survive outside the care of adult supervision. As a former educator are not like us.
