Streetwalkers - Downtown Flyers 1975 (UK, Hard Blues Rock, Funk, Soul)
The English Family Group collapsed in the early '70s, Roger Chapman (vocals) and Jon "Charlie" Whitney (guitar) decided to continue working together, they formed Streetwalkers. Family was hard to understand, and in the opinion of Roger Chapman, the concept of the group, initially based at an early British psychedelia, has exhausted itself. The new group decided to work more accessible to the public key, selecting a style of soul-blues-rock in the spirit of Bad Company. By adding in 1975 of guitarist Bobby Tench (The Jeff Beck Group, Hummingbird), drummer Nicko McBrain (the next Iron Maiden), bassist Jon Plotel, the band released a second CD - Downtown Flyers. Released in October 1975, the album revealed a new phenomenon in the hard rock. Although this characterization is not entirely appropriate. Funky motifs in Downtown Flyers, progressive Burn It Down, "pure" blues-rock Toenail Draggin '- organically intertwined with a powerful "vibratto" Chapman and Whitney gentle slide. In the USA (Reprise) album was released without a title (Downtown Flyers - an original English name for Vertigo).
