00:00If you thought Season 1 was brutal, wait until you hear what Welcome to Derry could do next.
00:05What's up everyone? Today we're talking about the big question horror fans can't stop asking.
00:10Is HBO's chilling It prequel series, Welcome to Derry, getting a Season 2,
00:15and when could we realistically see a first-look trailer and release date?
00:20Season 1 hit like a nightmare you can't wake up from.
00:23The show didn't just tease darkness, it jumped straight into it.
00:26That shocking pilot episode made it clear this series has zero fear of crossing lines,
00:32wiping out nearly all of its main characters, and yes, many of them were children.
00:38It was disturbing, relentless, and it instantly told audiences,
00:41this isn't a safe, nostalgic ride back to the movies, this is Derry at its ugliest.
00:46And the audience responded, big time.
00:49Reports say over 5.5 million viewers tuned in within the first three days,
00:54making it one of HBO's strongest genre launches in recent memory.
00:59That's not just Stephen King fans showing up that's mainstream viewers,
01:02clicking play and not looking away.
01:05So here's the twist.
01:06Season 2 still hasn't been officially renewed.
01:10Even with strong reviews and massive viewership, renewal isn't automatic.
01:14The show is expensive to produce,
01:16and outside of Bill SkarsgÄrd's iconic Pennywise,
01:19it doesn't rely on big star power.
01:21In fact, Pennywise barely appears in the first five episodes because of his shape-shifting nature
01:27and the way the story spreads fear through the town itself, not just through the clown.
01:33But this is where it gets really interesting.
01:35The creators reportedly planned Welcome to Derry as a three-season story from the start,
01:40with each season jumping further back in time.
01:43Season 2 would explore the year 1935,
01:46while season 3 would go all the way back to 1908,
01:51showing how Pennywise terrorized totally different generations across Derry's cursed history.
01:56That anthology-style structure is a huge advantage.
02:00New decade, new characters, new horrors, while the same evil keeps returning.
02:05Which means a season 2 trailer could look and feel completely different from season 1,
02:09even though the terror stays connected.
02:11Now I want to hear from you.
02:12Do you think HBO will officially greenlight season 2,
02:16and what time period do you want to see the most?
