00:00:00Oh
00:00:30Lily, when we last spoke, you said you weren't quite sure
00:00:38you could describe what you saw at the theater that night.
00:00:41Still can't.
00:00:42But now I don't have to because...
00:00:44Because we got the picture sheet, Bowers.
00:00:45We have one where this thing looks like the monster version of Teddy,
00:00:48which was incredibly scary.
00:00:50Rich.
00:00:51Who is he?
00:00:52Ricardo Santos, sir.
00:00:54But you can call me Rich.
00:00:56Whatever killed Teddy, Phil, and Susie,
00:00:58it came after us again last night in the cemetery.
00:01:00What the hell were you doing at the cemetery at night?
00:01:03So my cousin and Bimbit told me this thing my uncle used to do.
00:01:05We were just cutting through.
00:01:06Yeah, taking a shortcut home.
00:01:08And you all just happened to have a camera with you when it did.
00:01:11We were ready this time.
00:01:15Well, let's have a look-see.
00:01:21Oh, my God.
00:01:23Karen Walsh, look at this.
00:01:24Jesus H. Christ.
00:01:29What the hell is that?
00:01:30Oh.
00:01:32Is that a...
00:01:32Is this pigeon shit?
00:01:38It's not possible.
00:01:40What's this?
00:01:41Oh, dead flowers.
00:01:42Helpful.
00:01:44And Mary's headstone.
00:01:45A tree.
00:01:48Stop, wait.
00:01:49Look at that one.
00:01:51Yeah, that's it.
00:01:52Right there.
00:01:52The statue.
00:02:00No, are you blind?
00:02:01It's a clown.
00:02:02You watch your tone, young lady.
00:02:04You walk into this office telling tall tales,
00:02:06and you show me this is proof.
00:02:07The only thing this is proof of
00:02:09is that you, Lily Bainbridge,
00:02:10are trying to buy yourself a one-way ticket back to the nuthouse.
00:02:12You kids keep your noses out of police business or ghouls and goblins will be the very least
00:02:22of your worries.
00:02:23Do I make myself perfectly clear?
00:02:25A smile is something special, a ribbon is something rare.
00:02:40So I'll be special and I'll be rare, with a smile and a ribbon in my hair.
00:02:47To be a girl, they notice, takes more than a fancy dress.
00:02:54So I'll be noticed, because I'll dress with a smile and a ribbon in my dresses.
00:03:01The bigger my toothy grin is, the smaller my troubles grow, the louder I say I'm happy, the more I believe it's so.
00:03:13So I'll have that extra something, cause I'll know what to wear.
00:03:20So I'll be special and I'll be rare, I'll be something beyond compare.
00:03:26I'll be noticed, because I'll wear a smile and a ribbon in my hair.
00:03:34The bigger my toothy grin is, the smaller my troubles grow.
00:03:39The louder I say I'm happy, the more I believe it's so.
00:03:45So I'll have that extra something, cause I'll know what to wear.
00:03:51So I'll be special and I'll be rare, I'll be something beyond compare.
00:03:57I'll be noticed, because I'll wear a smile and a ribbon in my hair.
00:04:09Maybe it's a Dracula thing.
00:04:16You know, like in the movie, how we can't see his reflection?
00:04:20But we did see him.
00:04:21It could have killed us, but it didn't.
00:04:24It's like it's messing with us.
00:04:26The first thing I do is find out if there's a history of stuff like this happening in Dini.
00:04:29Lily, your mom grew up here, right?
00:04:33Yeah.
00:04:34She ever mention anything strange?
00:04:37No, and if I ask her about it, she'll send me right back to Juniper Hill.
00:04:40But you heard what ba-
00:04:40Shh!
00:04:42You heard what Bauer said.
00:04:44They're gonna transfer my dad to Shawshank.
00:04:46You don't come back from that place.
00:04:48Please, I'm just asking-
00:04:48No one adult's ever gonna believe what we saw.
00:04:52I wouldn't.
00:04:53Wait.
00:04:57I know someone who might.
00:05:00I haven't thought about it in years, but now that you mention it, I do remember some kids going missing in the 30s.
00:05:07Quite a few, actually.
00:05:09Really?
00:05:10Well, it was the Depression, and a lot of families were starving, and some kids, they just disappeared overnight.
00:05:16They probably ran away looking for something better, or trying to relieve their families of the burden.
00:05:20They were tough times.
00:05:23But nothing like-
00:05:24What you're describing?
00:05:26Oh, no, dear.
00:05:27No, nothing like that.
00:05:31But don't let that stop you from trying to figure out what's happening.
00:05:35My father always said to me that with good friends at your side, anything's possible.
00:05:42And it sounds like you have those.
00:05:43Oh, no.
00:06:09Hello. Well, this is a surprise.
00:06:12Thought I'd save you the trouble of wrestling at home yourself.
00:06:15Oh, you didn't have to do that.
00:06:18Just happy it found a good home.
00:06:20I'm brewing coffee, if you're in the mood.
00:06:22I will never say no to a cup of coffee.
00:06:24All right.
00:06:30So your folks are from around these parts originally?
00:06:34My ancestors settled in the valley here,
00:06:37but our homelands were much bigger back then.
00:06:40We would follow the elk herds all the way into Nova Scotia and back.
00:06:45That was before Manifest Destiny, of course.
00:06:48I've never been to Canada myself.
00:06:50No?
00:06:51Mm-mm.
00:06:53I still have cousins up there, north of the border.
00:06:56Well, what they call a border anyway.
00:06:59To us, it's just a line on a map.
00:07:02Hmm.
00:07:05So how is your husband adjusting?
00:07:08I suppose they're keeping him busy working on that new pipeline.
00:07:11Oh, Leroy's a pilot.
00:07:12I doubt he's got anything to do with that.
00:07:14Not that he'd tell me if he did, but...
00:07:17No?
00:07:18Every time I ask about his day,
00:07:20it's national security this and classify that.
00:07:23Man's got more secrets than King Tut's tomb.
00:07:26That sounds a little lonely.
00:07:30Oh, I knew what I was signing up for when I married a five-boy.
00:07:34He doesn't question orders.
00:07:35I question everything.
00:07:37That's the dance.
00:07:39May I ask you something?
00:07:44Of course.
00:07:46This business with the theater, the missing kids...
00:07:56It's a terrible thing.
00:07:58Do I need to be concerned?
00:08:04Derry is a beautiful place,
00:08:07but things do happen from time to time.
00:08:11Never a bad idea to keep the people you love close.
00:08:18I'll tell you what.
00:08:19If you need anything...
00:08:22To talk...
00:08:24A friend...
00:08:29Call me.
00:08:30...
00:08:37Hey!
00:08:38Hey!
00:08:39Hey!
00:08:40All right!
00:08:41I...
00:08:43I...
00:08:44See the girl with the diamond ring...
00:08:49She knows how to shake that thing...
00:08:50All right!
00:08:52Now now...
00:08:54Hey!
00:08:55Hey!
00:08:56Hey!
00:08:57Hey!
00:08:58Let's go.
00:08:59Y'all seen the shit?
00:09:00Oh, hell no.
00:09:01I saw that.
00:09:02Come on.
00:09:03Yo, hold on.
00:09:04Let me find the light up in here.
00:09:05Oh, I got it.
00:09:06Hold up.
00:09:07Hit the light.
00:09:08Hey.
00:09:09There you go.
00:09:10Okay.
00:09:11You did it.
00:09:12Hey.
00:09:13Ain't it a little far from base?
00:09:14That's good.
00:09:15I mean, there's no one to hassle us.
00:09:17You sure it's ours?
00:09:18Colonel said we could use it.
00:09:19Right.
00:09:20That's good.
00:09:21I mean, there's no one to hassle us.
00:09:23You sure it's ours?
00:09:24Colonel said we could use it.
00:09:25Right.
00:09:26Right.
00:09:27And no one else comes here.
00:09:28Boy, do you know what decommission means?
00:09:29No.
00:09:30It was all storage out here.
00:09:31Anything they needed, they cleared out a long time ago.
00:09:33Come on, now.
00:09:34Look at this.
00:09:35What?
00:09:36It's a damn mess.
00:09:37Yeah.
00:09:38But the important thing is, it's got potential.
00:09:41Oh, hell no.
00:09:42Now, look.
00:09:43You put the bar here.
00:09:44Put the hi-fi there.
00:09:45Hey.
00:09:46Hey, hey.
00:09:47Holleran.
00:09:48Maybe you could get a lot of money.
00:09:49Hey.
00:09:50Hey.
00:09:51Hey, Holleran.
00:09:52Maybe you could get a lot of money.
00:09:53Hey.
00:09:54Hey.
00:09:55Holleran.
00:09:56Maybe you could get like a grill or a hot plate or something.
00:09:58You know?
00:09:59We could turn this into a kitchen.
00:10:00Throw a little jow down for the fellas.
00:10:01And that date.
00:10:02Can't do that on base.
00:10:04Can't do nothing here neither till we clean this motherfucker.
00:10:08Come on.
00:10:09Y'all laughing like we don't gotta clean that shit.
00:10:11Dang.
00:10:12Let's clean this up, gentlemen.
00:10:13Yes, sir.
00:10:14Y'all helping with this?
00:10:15It's heavy as hell.
00:10:16I know, but maybe we can use a couple of these things around here.
00:10:17Can you talk to Denver?
00:10:18It's full here.
00:10:19It's full here.
00:10:20It's full here.
00:10:21Nope, nope.
00:10:22Good job.
00:10:23There is a bright flash, brighter than the sun.
00:10:32It could knock you down hard or throw you against a tree or a wall.
00:10:37It is such a big explosion.
00:10:40It can smash in buildings and knock sign boards over and break windows all over town.
00:10:45But if you duck and cover like Bert, you'll be much safer.
00:10:50The atomic bomb flash could burn you worse than a terrible sunburn, especially where you're
00:10:55not covered.
00:10:56Now, you and I don't have shells to crawl into like Bert the turtle, so we have to cover up
00:11:01in our own way.
00:11:03First, you duck, and then you cover.
00:11:07And very tightly, you cover the back of your neck, your face.
00:11:11You duck and cover underneath the table.
00:11:33Hmm.
00:11:34Looking for these?
00:11:48I was tidying up and I found these stuffed in an envelope in the back of that drawer.
00:11:55What's going on, Will?
00:11:58And don't lie to me.
00:12:03Ronnie is my friend.
00:12:05She swears her dad didn't do it and I believe her, but the police don't because he works at the theater.
00:12:09Yeah.
00:12:10I know, baby.
00:12:14So, me and some other kids, we met up to try to figure out how to help her when...
00:12:21When what?
00:12:24What happened?
00:12:28It was dark.
00:12:33Someone came after us.
00:12:36We were scared and we ran, but Ronnie had a camera and she was trying to get some pictures.
00:12:42Okay.
00:12:43Alright, no more running around till I find out what's going on around here.
00:12:56What?
00:12:57School and back and that's it.
00:12:58Mom!
00:12:59Not another word.
00:13:00Your daddy finds out you've been running around wild at night, you're gonna get a worse punishment than that.
00:13:05We'll keep it between us.
00:13:08This time.
00:13:26How was your first week at school?
00:13:29Fine.
00:13:30Fine.
00:13:31Give me some details.
00:13:33Go on, baby.
00:13:34Tell him.
00:13:35Oh, for goodness sake.
00:13:36There is a girl.
00:13:37Mom.
00:13:38Oh, it's okay.
00:13:39Don't embarrass the boy, Sean.
00:13:40Can I be excused?
00:13:41You haven't even had dessert.
00:13:42I have homework.
00:13:43Alright.
00:13:44Go on.
00:13:45So, the girl is...
00:13:46I mean, she...
00:13:47I mean, she...
00:13:48Mmm.
00:13:49You know...
00:13:50You know...
00:13:51You know...
00:13:52You know...
00:14:23Oh, I don't know. I was waiting on a call.
00:14:27Hmm.
00:14:29Well, I was thinking, if you're free,
00:14:31y'all two could do something.
00:14:34Been so busy since we got here,
00:14:36it could be good to get him out of his head for a change.
00:14:41Yeah. Maybe.
00:14:44Yeah? What are you thinking?
00:14:53Nice.
00:15:13Dad? Hmm?
00:15:16How long do we have to do this?
00:15:19Have to?
00:15:22I'm having the time of my life.
00:15:25Spending time in nature with my boy,
00:15:26like I used to with my pops.
00:15:29It doesn't get better than this.
00:15:33Tell me about this new girlfriend of yours.
00:15:37She's not my girlfriend.
00:15:39Not yet.
00:15:45Years young.
00:15:47Years young, my friend.
00:15:52I got something.
00:15:54What?
00:15:55I got something.
00:15:56Oh, oh, oh.
00:15:57Okay, son, relax, relax.
00:15:58Don't force it.
00:15:59Just reel it in a little bit at a time.
00:16:01Easy, keep it going.
00:16:02I'm doing it, Dad.
00:16:03You got it.
00:16:04Stay with it.
00:16:05You gotta stay with him.
00:16:06There it is.
00:16:07Ah, damn it.
00:16:08I got it.
00:16:11You had it.
00:16:12Listen, he's gone.
00:16:14We're in the back.
00:16:15At least we know they're biting.
00:16:17Ah, oh, hold on.
00:16:18The flag came off.
00:16:20Yeah, so.
00:16:22What's my mind?
00:16:23What?
00:16:24I left the spares in the car.
00:16:53I really don't know why they are biting people.
00:16:54I know you random.
00:16:55I'm so happy.
00:16:56I guys were on the camera.
00:16:57Don't try it.
00:16:58I'm so hungry.
00:17:00I won't be alone.
00:17:01This is a game.
00:17:02This is a game.
00:17:03This is a game.
00:17:04I don't miss any time.
00:17:05If you haven't lost it, I will not be on the phone.
00:17:07I won't take it long.
00:17:08He is sick everyone.
00:17:09It's really bad.
00:17:10This is a game.
00:17:11I don't see anything when you tell me.
00:17:12I don't know what you tell me from my friend.
00:17:14He's like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:17:15oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:17:17Help! Help!
00:17:41Help! Help!
00:17:45They pulled me out here.
00:17:52They came out of the water.
00:17:52What, son?
00:17:53What is breath free?
00:17:54What is it?
00:17:56With you.
00:17:58You were all burnt like that.
00:17:59But you were off to the water when you went down in that way.
00:18:01Son, you've got to relax.
00:18:02You're not making any sense.
00:18:03It's the tube.
00:18:03Hold down.
00:18:09Son, what the hell?
00:18:12There's something here.
00:18:13In the area.
00:18:15There's something bad.
00:18:34Reports suggest the Soviet shipments that recently arrived in Cuban ports may contain military equipment, including surface-to-air missiles.
00:18:41If confirmed, sources say would mark a significant...
00:18:43Chief, you've got a visitor.
00:18:49No details, no description.
00:18:58There's not a lot to go on.
00:19:00They're kids.
00:19:01They got scared and ran.
00:19:03We'll look into it.
00:19:04Is there anything else, Mrs...
00:19:05Panlin.
00:19:07I don't mean to be presumptuous, Chief Bowers, but if there is someone out there still accosting children, isn't it a possibility you have an innocent man in your jail?
00:19:16You're talking about Hank Grogan?
00:19:17Not a chance.
00:19:18Not a chance.
00:19:19We questioned him.
00:19:20We caught him in a lie.
00:19:21The man has no alibi.
00:19:22Mm-hmm.
00:19:23Has he been able to consult an attorney?
00:19:27Mrs. Hanlon, this isn't the South.
00:19:31He and his family have had regular contact with the public defender's office.
00:19:35I didn't mean to offend you, sir.
00:19:37I'm sorry.
00:19:38You can imagine where I come from.
00:19:40What I'm used to.
00:19:46May I speak with him, please?
00:19:48You're neither counsel nor family, so no.
00:19:50Now, if you'll excuse me.
00:19:56Thank you for your time.
00:19:59Mm-hmm.
00:20:26I don't understand, miss.
00:20:39Mrs. Hanlon.
00:20:41Call me Charlotte.
00:20:42My boy Will is a friend of your granddaughter's.
00:20:46He told me the situation with your son, and I just thought I'd check in.
00:20:51You a lawyer?
00:20:52No, ma'am.
00:20:53But I was active in the movement down south.
00:20:56Did my bit helping other colored folks who got forced into false confessions.
00:21:01If that's the case with your son, I'd like to see if I could help him, too.
00:21:04That's kind to you, but I don't see as it'll do much good.
00:21:08I thought he was in his room.
00:21:11Turns out someone saw him out walking, so...
00:21:14Mm.
00:21:15Doesn't mean he hurt anybody.
00:21:18Of course not.
00:21:19My Hank wouldn't hurt a fly.
00:21:21Especially not no kids.
00:21:23So if he wasn't at the theater, and he wasn't home, where else could he have been?
00:21:29The only one who knows where my son was that night, other than himself, is God.
00:21:36And neither one of them was talking.
00:21:45Hey.
00:21:46Hey.
00:21:47Hang on.
00:21:48You gonna clean at all?
00:21:55Wow.
00:21:56We're coming together.
00:21:57We're coming together.
00:21:58Red.
00:21:59Come on.
00:22:00There you go, Red.
00:22:01You can't judge a daughter by looking at the mother.
00:22:05You can't judge a daughter by looking at the cover.
00:22:09Oh, can't you see?
00:22:11Back against the wall.
00:22:12Back against the wall.
00:22:13Back.
00:22:14You want to sit back in the window.
00:22:15Jack, you're looking back against the wall.
00:22:16Jack, you're looking back against the wall.
00:22:17Jack, you're looking back against the wall, Jack.
00:22:18Why should I help you?
00:22:19Open right now?
00:22:20I'm alone.
00:22:21Howl around.
00:22:22I can't play.
00:22:23Hey!
00:22:24Howl around!
00:22:25Okay.
00:22:26Hey!
00:22:27Hey!
00:22:28Hey!
00:22:29Okay.
00:22:30Hey!
00:22:32Hey!
00:22:58Dick...
00:23:00Baby. Mind me now. You watch yourself here. Keep that lid on tight.
00:23:30You said I'd find you here. Well, here I am. Hey, thanks again for that home-cooked meal.
00:23:44The best sleep I had since I stumbled out of a cat house.
00:23:48So, you heard anything from General Shaw, Colonel Fuller? Just wondering when we're going up again.
00:23:55Oh, no. That's above my pay grade. I hear you.
00:23:57But, uh, you know, Operation Precept showed me to sound like a real priority.
00:24:04One brother to another. Maybe don't be so eager to put yourself in the line of fire on this one.
00:24:11What are you trying to say?
00:24:13The colonel is kind enough to lend us this old requisition shed to use at and for our leisure.
00:24:20We're just setting up inside. You want to help us out?
00:24:22Hey.
00:24:27Listen. I went fishing today with my son.
00:24:35And when I went back to the car to get more bait, something attacked him.
00:24:40Jesus. I'm sorry. You all right?
00:24:43When I asked him what, he said...
00:24:45He said it was me, all burnt up and charred like I crawled out of a plane crash.
00:24:51And I came up out the water, tried to pull him under.
00:24:54You believe him?
00:24:58The boy's got bruises and cuts like an animal scratched him all up.
00:25:04And he looked at me. He said...
00:25:05He said, Dad, there's something bad here in Derry.
00:25:15Palloran, what the hell are we actually looking for?
00:25:19Huh?
00:25:20And I know we're trying to develop some shit. Russia too.
00:25:22What, did something go missing?
00:25:24A machine that fucks with your head.
00:25:26What is it?
00:25:29Answer me! I don't know!
00:25:32I don't know what the hell it is.
00:25:33Hell, I'm not sure I want to know.
00:25:39Look, I do.
00:25:40I do what I'm told when I'm told, just like you.
00:25:46I'm sorry about your son.
00:25:55I used to have nightmares as a kid about my dad going down on a plane like he did in Korea.
00:26:00It scared me more than anything else in the world.
00:26:02How did I know that?
00:26:05It could have killed me way before my dad got to me.
00:26:08It can probably kill any one of us anytime it wants to.
00:26:14Unless...
00:26:15Unless what?
00:26:17What if it doesn't want to kill us?
00:26:22Not yet, anyway.
00:26:24What if it's just trying to scare us?
00:26:26Like Louie said.
00:26:27Why would it just want to scare us when it killed all the others?
00:26:30We don't actually know Maddie's dead.
00:26:32Not for sure.
00:26:33But he did tell me he'd been seeing weird stuff for a while before he disappeared.
00:26:40Phil and Teddy said the same thing.
00:26:44Oh, man.
00:26:46I hate being right.
00:26:48What?
00:26:49Adrenaline.
00:26:52Cortisol.
00:26:52They're called the fear hormones.
00:26:57When you get scared, not just you, any mammal.
00:26:59Your adrenal glands secretes them into your bloodstream, which some predators like the taste of.
00:27:04So they'll stalk and scare their prey until they smell just right.
00:27:09Then...
00:27:10No, no, no.
00:27:11You're saying he wants to eat us?
00:27:12It's just a theory.
00:27:13It's a horrible theory.
00:27:14Well, if it's the facts.
00:27:15Okay, let's just for the moment assume that you're right.
00:27:18No, I do not want to assume that.
00:27:20But if he is, what are we supposed to do?
00:27:24I mean, it's not like we can just stop ourselves from being scared.
00:27:31Guys.
00:27:33What if we could?
00:27:38How'd you get them?
00:27:39I swiped them for my mom's compact.
00:27:41I got one for each of us.
00:27:44What does it do?
00:27:46Whenever she's really nervous about stuff like bills or, you know, me, she just sticks one under her tongue.
00:27:55She says it makes all her fears and troubles melt away like magic.
00:27:59She calls it mommy's little helper.
00:28:01That sounds pretty good.
00:28:03So I guess the second something weird starts to happen, we take it and just...
00:28:07And hope for the best.
00:28:09Yeah.
00:28:09There are almost 20,000 species of worms on Earth, each one unique, each with its own purpose in the great swirling apparatus of our planet's function.
00:28:27Here we see the parasitic flatworm, Leucochloridium paradoxum, which burrows into the bodies of land snails, causing their eyes to swell and expand into multicolored stalks, which subsequently attract the attention of birds who then swoop down and pluck them out.
00:28:49Now, the most fascinating aspect of Leucochloridium paradoxum is how the parasite not only alters the snail physically, but also hijacks its brain and alters its behavior.
00:29:01I've been thinking about what a shit I've been lately.
00:29:07I was wondering if...
00:29:09I don't know.
00:29:11Do you want to go to lunch with me today?
00:29:14Just me and you?
00:29:14I miss you.
00:29:16I miss you.
00:29:17I miss you.
00:29:18I miss you.
00:29:19I miss you.
00:29:20That'd be swell.
00:29:21Peachy.
00:29:22I can't wait.
00:29:23Because...
00:29:24Peachy...
00:29:25... aspect of...
00:29:26...microplasticity...
00:29:28Now, as we consider the durability of parasitic infections in the animal kingdom, we should never lose sight of how easily they can leap between species.
00:29:38pieces.
00:30:08Are you family?
00:30:19No, but I have a letter here signed by his mother
00:30:21granting permission to visit with her son.
00:30:29Yeah.
00:30:31You'll have to wait for the chief.
00:30:33And when will he be in?
00:30:35Hard to say.
00:30:37That's just not good enough.
00:30:39Listen, lady.
00:30:41I suggest that you take it on the arches
00:30:44before you find yourself in a cell right next to him.
00:30:47My name's not Lady.
00:30:48It's Charlotte Hanlon.
00:30:50And that may not mean much to you right now,
00:30:53but it will when you see all the scary shit
00:30:54I can do with the telephone.
00:30:56Excuse me?
00:30:57No, I don't think I will.
00:30:59In fact, if you don't let me see Hank Grogan right now,
00:31:02by tomorrow morning, I'll have MLK, JFK, RFK,
00:31:06and a whole bunch of other FKs breathing down your neck,
00:31:09along with a bus full of Freedom Riders after another
00:31:12from here to the turnpike,
00:31:13singing,
00:31:14We Shall Overcome in the streets
00:31:15to have to call the world's largest cow catcher to clear them.
00:31:19Now, you gonna let me see the man?
00:31:21Or do I need to make a call?
00:31:30Forgive me, Mrs. Hanlon,
00:31:32but you don't know my situation.
00:31:33I know the cops locked you up
00:31:35without a shred of hard evidence.
00:31:37I spoke with the public defender's office,
00:31:39asked some questions.
00:31:41Turns out they charged you without a bail hearing,
00:31:43which is your legal right.
00:31:45Public defender ain't saying nothing about that.
00:31:47We'll worry about him later.
00:31:48Right now, we need to file papers
00:31:50citing prejudicial treatment,
00:31:52show discrimination,
00:31:53which would be easy to do in your case.
00:31:56It'll allow you to skip bail altogether
00:31:57and go on house arrest while you wait for trial.
00:32:01House arrest?
00:32:02Mm-hmm.
00:32:04So what you saying?
00:32:04You-I don't gotta go to Shawshank?
00:32:06The papers take a minute to process,
00:32:08and it sounds like they're busting you out tomorrow,
00:32:10so you may have to spend a few days there,
00:32:12but the fact of the matter is
00:32:14your right to due process was violated.
00:32:16Whatever you did
00:32:18or didn't do,
00:32:21you're gonna be going home.
00:32:25At least for now.
00:32:28That's a promise.
00:32:33But at some point, Mr. Grogan,
00:32:38you'll have to go on record with the truths.
00:32:42The truth.
00:32:44The truth is I didn't do nothing to those kids.
00:32:47Told the police about it, too!
00:32:49Doesn't change the fact
00:32:50that you weren't where you claimed to be that night.
00:32:54Where were you, really?
00:32:56You realize that answer could set you free.
00:33:08Whatever you were doing
00:33:09can't possibly compare to what you're being accused of.
00:33:18You want your daughter to go without a father?
00:33:20You want your mama to mourn a son?
00:33:24You think I want that?
00:33:26You think I want that?
00:33:29Man, y'all don't understand.
00:33:32All right.
00:33:34So tell me.
00:33:36Please.
00:33:38I think you know by now I'm on your side.
00:33:40I was with a woman.
00:33:55A married woman?
00:34:00Not just married.
00:34:05A white woman.
00:34:08Yeah, it just happened.
00:34:10It just happened.
00:34:17Look, if anybody finds out,
00:34:21I won't be headed to no Shawshank.
00:34:24They'll just find the nearest tree.
00:34:26Not to mention what I was about to do to her.
00:34:30Now, if there's a way out
00:34:32without anyone getting hurt,
00:34:34I'll take it.
00:34:35I might, I might need some help finding it.
00:34:41Sir, we checked the areas the Indian woman told us to stay away from.
00:34:54Either she's telling the truth
00:34:56or sending us on a wild goose chase,
00:34:58but there is nothing there.
00:34:59Of course there's nothing there.
00:35:03She's a smart woman.
00:35:05And now we've confirmed her suspicions.
00:35:08Believe me, Colonel,
00:35:09these people take their obligations very seriously,
00:35:11and whatever comes next,
00:35:12it's not going to be a cease and desist letter.
00:35:14Not that it matters.
00:35:16Because the cycle will be over soon,
00:35:18and the weapon gone to ground.
00:35:20Maybe it's time to begin clean-up, sir.
00:35:43How often are those kids out there watching the base?
00:35:45The kids from Indian Marsh?
00:35:47I don't know, every couple of days.
00:35:50Sir, they may be curious,
00:35:51but they know to stay on their own side of the fence.
00:35:54Maybe it's time we open the gate.
00:35:57Invite them in.
00:36:03So, how are things with your...
00:36:05and your friends?
00:36:08What do you mean?
00:36:09I don't know.
00:36:10I guess I'm just curious.
00:36:12What's Ronnie Grogan like?
00:36:15People talk.
00:36:17If you invited me to gossip, I'm not...
00:36:20Lily, no.
00:36:22I just...
00:36:23I guess I just don't know how to talk to you anymore.
00:36:26Everything's changed so much since you got back from...
00:36:30You know...
00:36:34Look, we've been best friends since first grade.
00:36:38Forget the patty cakes.
00:36:40I don't want to lose you.
00:36:41I don't want to lose you.
00:36:42Can we just start over?
00:36:45Please?
00:36:47I'd like that.
00:36:49Hey, Marge.
00:36:53Hey, Lily.
00:36:54Oh, my gosh.
00:37:00Did you see the way Tim Flanagan just looked at you?
00:37:04You should talk to him.
00:37:06What?
00:37:07No way.
00:37:08He's totally sweet on you.
00:37:11Come on.
00:37:12At least say hi.
00:37:14After everything you've been through this year?
00:37:16You deserve it.
00:37:17Well, I should at least freshen up first.
00:37:28Okay.
00:37:29You have me right back.
00:37:30Did she go for it?
00:37:45I think so.
00:37:46She's freshening up.
00:37:48Good.
00:37:48Because it's all set.
00:37:50The second she goes over to him, he's going to embarrass her in front of the whole school.
00:37:54It's going to be so boss.
00:37:56Yeah.
00:37:58Real boss.
00:38:00Don't chicken out now, Truman.
00:38:02Get in there before she changes her mind.
00:38:16What's the holdup?
00:38:18I have to sit.
00:38:21Oh, you can barely see it.
00:38:24Let me touch you up before you go back out.
00:38:26You'll be dropped dead.
00:38:28Okay.
00:38:29Let me pee first.
00:38:31I'm nervous.
00:38:38I can't believe Tim likes me.
00:38:40I can't believe me.
00:39:00Wills?
00:39:01Yeah?
00:39:02Yeah?
00:39:02I need to tell you something.
00:39:09What?
00:39:15I, um...
00:39:17Well...
00:39:21The truth is...
00:39:25Marge?
00:39:29Marge, are you okay?
00:39:32How?
00:39:34What?
00:39:40Marge, what's wrong?
00:39:45My eyes!
00:39:49Marge!
00:39:57Whatever you do, just don't look at it, okay?
00:39:59Somebody help me!
00:40:00Help me!
00:40:01Close your eyes!
00:40:09Marge, wait!
00:40:10Me?
00:40:11Ah!
00:40:16Ah!
00:40:17Ah!
00:40:19Ah!
00:40:22Ah!
00:40:23Ah!
00:40:27Ah!
00:40:28Ah!
00:40:31Whoa!
00:40:58Marge!
00:41:07Marge!
00:41:13Marge, no!
00:41:15Marge, stop!
00:41:17Marge!
00:41:18Stop!
00:41:19Stop!
00:41:21Stop!
00:41:22Marge!
00:41:23Marge!
00:41:25No!
00:41:26Let go!
00:41:28No!
00:41:29Marge, stop!
00:41:30Let go!
00:41:32Let go!
00:41:33Stop!
00:41:50No.
00:41:52No, I didn't...
00:41:56You scared me.
00:42:11What were you doing in town today?
00:42:13What do you mean?
00:42:15Paulie said he saw you walking into the police station.
00:42:19I can see the wheels turning, so why don't you just tell me, Shaw?
00:42:26Same way you tell me what happens at that base?
00:42:28This is a security issue.
00:42:29What is this?
00:42:30The man that got arrested at the movie thing?
00:42:32A black man who's arrested for a murder he swears he didn't commit.
00:42:36And his daughter is friends with our son.
00:42:39His daughter?
00:42:41Don't be looking for trouble.
00:42:47There's gonna be trouble anywhere we go.
00:42:49That's the country you swore your life to defend.
00:42:52I'm just making it worth defending.
00:42:54You swore to me that you wouldn't start up here.
00:42:56I can't have you getting arrested again, Shaw.
00:42:59Not now.
00:43:00What I'm doing here is too important,
00:43:04so I-I just need you to trust me.
00:43:06Just trust me and don't stir the pot.
00:43:08Please, just promise me that.
00:43:12Please.
00:43:15You won't have to worry about me.
00:43:38Please.
00:43:39Please.
00:43:40Please.
00:43:41Oh...
00:43:44Please.
00:43:48Please.
00:43:50Please.
00:43:56Come on.
00:44:01This wouldn't stop.
00:44:05Oh, my God.
00:45:05Hey, what's wrong?
00:45:21What happened?
00:45:22I couldn't sleep.
00:45:24I was using a telescope and there was somebody outside staring at me.
00:45:26What's wrong?
00:45:34You see what you did?
00:45:35Someone's watching the house.
00:45:45Who's out here?
00:45:46Who's out here?
00:45:47Show yourself!
00:45:49Huh?
00:45:50Who's out here?
00:45:58Who's out here?
00:45:59Who's out here?
00:46:31Wait, you can't just...
00:46:44Handle it. Get back to me.
00:46:49I'm sorry, General.
00:46:51What the hell do you have us chasing?
00:47:01We caught him and his friends scoping out the base,
00:47:16trying to get a peek over our fence, as it were.
00:47:21What's he doing here?
00:47:22Our young Indian friend, Tanyal is his name,
00:47:28he knows the location of exactly what we're looking for.
00:47:31But he refuses to answer our questions.
00:47:34So Airman Halloran is going to answer them for us.
00:47:37What they want me to do to you,
00:47:52it's not going to be pleasant.
00:47:55So don't you just tell them what they want to know?
00:47:58Save us both a whole lot of pain.
00:47:59Oh, Tanyal.
00:48:23God, I'm so sorry about this.
00:48:28God, I'm so sorry about this.
00:48:58Come on.
00:49:01Come on.
00:49:02Oh, my God.
00:49:32Don't!
00:49:33I don't know.
00:50:03I need to tell you something.
00:50:33I need to tell you something, I need to tell you something, I need to tell you something.
00:50:59Daniel?
00:51:00Hi Auntie.
00:51:01Hey.
00:51:02Whatcha doing?
00:51:03Nothing.
00:51:08What is it?
00:51:18You know the story about the monster in the western wood.
00:51:22The galoo?
00:51:23Mm-hmm.
00:51:24All of the kids know that story.
00:51:26The elders may just memorize it when we were like seven.
00:51:29Well some of our stories are meant to teach us lessons.
00:51:36And some of our stories are real.
00:51:42So you're telling me the galoo is real.
00:51:49Tell me the story.
00:51:55Tell me the story.
00:51:56I need to know you remember how all of this began.
00:52:08What is it?
00:52:09I don't know.
00:52:10I'm sorry.
00:52:11I don't know.
00:52:12I don't know.
00:52:13of years ago. Before the time of the first people, an evil spirit was cast down from
00:52:19the darkest part of the night sky, bound inside a falling star.
00:52:29But when the star struck the earth, it broke open, and the spirit was set free. It roamed
00:52:37the woods for many snows and countless moons, until the creation of our first ancestors.
00:52:47The star that carried the monster had been its cage, and the stone it was made from still
00:52:54held power. Our wisest took a shard from that star and carved a weapon to protect our people
00:53:02from the monster, which we named the Galoo. We kept the dagger close and stayed away from
00:53:11the western wood. As years went by, the legend of the Galoo was passed down from generation
00:53:20to generation. We lived in balance with the monster by staying outside of its reach and
00:53:28never hunting in its territory. Until one day, the settlers arrived. We warned them of the
00:53:38danger in the western wood, but they chose to ignore us.
00:53:45They hunted the woods, and just as we had warned them, they were hunted.
00:53:50The Galoo fed on them and grew stronger and more powerful. The monster would soon be able to hunt
00:54:00outside of the western wood. Seski, the village's great moarchief, was called to counsel by the
00:54:08clan mothers. The creature had grown too powerful. A single dagger could no longer protect all the
00:54:15villages. To save our people, the decision was made. They would have to leave. But Seski's daughter,
00:54:23Nikani, did not want to leave our land. She believed there was another path. She took the dagger and
00:54:31journeyed past the great dead wood with her friends by her side, finally arriving at the western wood.
00:54:39They entered the woods, seeking the cave where the Galoo crashed, to gather more of the sacred stone.
00:54:50When Seski realized that her daughter and the dagger were missing, she formed a search party to bring
00:54:56them both back. But without the dagger, they had nothing to protect themselves from the Galoo.
00:55:09The monster showed itself to them, in the shape of the things they feared the most.
00:55:26It separated the war party, one by one. And before she knew it, Seski found herself alone.
00:55:39Putin's only hope is in her daughter's hands...
00:55:41...
00:55:52...
00:56:02Seski's only hope was in her daughter's hands.
00:56:04Prepare to meet thy god!
00:56:16Even Seski, the great warrior, was no match for the Galoon.
00:56:31What?
00:56:57But it was too late.
00:56:59Seski's spirit was already slipping away.
00:57:05And she went to be with the ancestors.
