Federer excited to see 'great' Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry continue to grow

Roger Federer praised Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, but backs Joao Fonseca to disrupt the dominant duo

00:00The rivalry between Alcraz and Sinner, I think, is a great one.

00:08I mean, they play incredible tennis.

00:10I think that French Open final was unreal.

00:13Made it one of the greatest games we've ever had in our sport.

00:16So I think it's good we still live off that momentum.

00:19And then they backed it up by playing each other in all those other finals.

00:22And everybody else is trying to keep up and they're still trying to pull away.

00:30He knows about it.

00:32It's like Rory going for the Masters, you know, those things are tough.

00:36I hope he does, because for the game, again, that would be an unbelievable, special moment.

00:41But, you know, he has another hundred and whatever players that say, like,

00:46we don't agree with those plans.

00:47So they'll try everything to stop him.

00:53You don't want to be the third guy, you want to be the guy.

00:55You know, I mean, for anybody, I mean, I would think that that's hopefully

00:59what he's thinking.

01:00He's exciting.

01:01He's got good aura.

01:02I feel he's a very likable character as well.

01:04And I like watching him play, to be honest.

01:07He's more a little bit like me in the sense that just needs a little bit more time to work on his game.

01:12And know, like, similar to Yannick as well, to know when to dial back and when to unload his shots, you know.

01:19And once he's going to figure that out, obviously, the sky's the limit, you know.

01:25But obviously, I think he's truly one of the guys who can compete for the biggest wins.

01:30So, this means, completely different spots that are challenging for me.
