00:00What a freak!
00:01Oh, look at that!
00:02Oh, look at that!
00:03Absolutely phenomenal!
00:04Rooney Oco!
00:05Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:30MUSIC PLAYS
00:50Evening, four games to show you from the first Saturday of 2026,
00:54and unlike New Year's Day, no nil-nils and plenty of goals.
00:58One of England's best centre-forwards is in the studio alongside Alan.
01:02First, Wolves still winless,
01:04but looking to build on their draw at Old Trafford in midweek
01:07against a West Ham side who began the day four points from safety
01:11and without winning their last eight.
01:12Commentary from Alistair Mann.
01:16It was the 8th of November when West Ham last won a match,
01:20and though Wolves haven't gathered a three-pointer since April,
01:24their increasingly hopeless position
01:26has actually begun to relieve the tension.
01:29Rob Edwards' assertion that recent displays at Anfield and Old Trafford
01:33were promising is backed by him making just one change
01:37from the draw with Manchester United,
01:39Santiago Bueno returning from injury.
01:42With just nine goals in their nine away games this season,
01:46West Ham's travels have offered little encouragement.
01:49Captain Jarrod Bowen continues to look their brighter spark,
01:54particularly today as he scored more career goals against Wolves
01:58than any other opponent.
02:00His importance now even greater given Lucas Paquetá has been ruled out with injury.
02:05Well, following the news of the sad passing of former Wolves winger Terry Wharton
02:12who died at the age of 83 following a short illness,
02:15two sets of players will now pause for a moment's reflection.
02:20There's been a feeling in these parts that this is a game in which the pressure is all on the visitors.
02:39Wolves increasingly desperate plight.
02:43They seem now resigned to their fate for West Ham.
02:48It is a must-win fixture.
02:51West Ham have already won the ball back through Somerville.
02:54He kept it in play as well.
02:56There are options as well.
02:58Potts is one of them.
02:59Well, he was clipped I think.
03:01Tried to stay on his feet which was the honest thing to do.
03:06Well, he could easily have gone down and won a penalty there.
03:10But it was quickly dismissed.
03:15Nicely done by Mane.
03:18An exciting protégé.
03:20And it goes to Huang.
03:22Huang's ball across and Wolves in front.
03:29Less than four minutes and Arias scores his first goal as a Wolverhampton Wanderers player.
03:36There are some times, as a commentator,
03:38you're reluctant to point out how long it's been since there's been a goalless draw.
03:43But you never expected this to end 0-0.
03:46And within four minutes that particular prospect is over.
03:52He's inherited a team who've had real problems expressing themselves this season.
03:57Defensively, they have been frail.
04:02Here he is again, Mane, and now Hugo Bueno.
04:08Clearance as far as Mane, who goes down and wins the penalty.
04:15Magassa says no way.
04:17Peter Bank says definitely.
04:19And Magassa went for the ball.
04:21And Peter Bank says he got the man and not the ball.
04:25And awards Wolves a penalty.
04:28So Huang with an opportunity to give Wolves a 2-0 lead.
04:36An opportunity he takes.
04:38And the explosion of noise around Molyneux is to herald a potentially winning position.
04:44For the Wolves, number 11.
04:473, 2, 1.
04:49Well, it was April 26th the last time that Wolves celebrated a victory in the Premier League.
04:57Huang's penalty right down the middle.
05:00Areola moving out of the way.
05:03But Wolves in uncharted waters this season.
05:06They lead 2-0.
05:10Walker-Peters.
05:13And that's headed straight to Mane.
05:16He doesn't need asking twice to have a go.
05:20Full of confidence.
05:22Brings in Chatua.
05:27Trying to get round Scars, he's done it.
05:29Dangerous ball in and he wins a corner.
05:44Headed away by Kilman.
05:46João Gomez.
05:48Clip ball in.
05:50A brilliant save by Areola.
05:52Wow, that is sensational.
05:55He had no right to get anywhere near that.
05:57And he's helped it over his crossbar with his foot.
06:02You go a long way before you see a save better than that one.
06:07That just looked like it had to be a goal.
06:13Here's Hugo Boyne up.
06:19Mane's onside, no question of that.
06:22And he has a goal!
06:24And it's three!
06:25They're so excited about him in these parts, Matthias Mane.
06:35He's been given licence to have a go when he gets the ball.
06:40And he now scores for the first time as a Wolverhampton Wanderers first-team player.
06:45No question of offside.
06:46And Mane thought, well, why not?
06:50And it was a stunning strike.
06:53He's a player with so much promise.
06:56Outstanding at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
06:59And now he has his first professional goal.
07:03And it will not be the last on the evidence of what we've seen so far from him.
07:07And Wolves extraordinarily lead 3-0!
07:14Well, a penny for your thoughts.
07:17More like a million pounds.
07:18Nuno has made his changes, changed the formation.
07:25Mayers has gone in as the third centre-half.
07:27Saucek up towards Somerville.
07:35Probably looked as lively as anyone for West Ham.
07:38That's a good attempt from Bowen.
07:40Got underneath it and skied it, but at least it will go down as a chance.
07:45Well, they've not seen their team win away from home since August 31st.
07:53Ironically, that was at Nottingham Forest under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo.
08:00Andre in front of Bowen.
08:03Hugo Bueno.
08:05Still going.
08:07It's a good effort and Areola puts it beyond the post.
08:10Well, he's a player who has certainly benefited after Ryan Knight.
08:16Norrie left for Manchester City.
08:18Working it onto his right foot.
08:20And Areola's save was important.
08:25Wilson.
08:28With Mane for company.
08:31And he wins a corner.
08:35Fifth West Ham corner, they're fourth of the second half.
08:39Great delivery.
08:43Good punch by Jose Sartre.
08:45Well, just at the moment, VAR are still checking for a potential foul.
08:51Krejci on the back of Saucek.
08:55Well, Saucek was asking the question.
08:58Nothing given.
09:00Andre.
09:05Cleared, but only as far as Mane.
09:11Well, he's done that well.
09:13It's a great save again from Areola.
09:15Well, he's box office, isn't he, Mane?
09:17Just such an exciting prospect.
09:21He scores his first ever professional goal.
09:24And it gives him the confidence to try and grab his second.
09:27Well, the damage was inflicted in the first half.
09:41But it was some serious damage to West Ham United.
09:44Wolves finally taste a victory.
09:49Rob Edwards first in charge of Molyneux.
09:53And as much as Wolves are delighted,
09:56West Ham will be feeling desperate.
09:59A terrible afternoon for the visitors.
10:02A wonderful one for the hosts.
10:04The final score, Wolves three, West Ham United nil.
10:10The overall performance, I thought we were good.
10:13Resilient when we needed to be, compact when we needed to be.
10:16But, yeah, stuck together in place from really good football at the right moments as well.
10:21So I thought it was a pretty complete performance.
10:23Has it been difficult to convince them to buy into what's going on?
10:26No, because I don't think, if you watch the performances,
10:28I don't think the lads have struggled to buy in at all.
10:30I think they've been all in.
10:31And you're seeing that, we're seeing that.
10:34So a big credit to the lads and a huge credit to the supporters.
10:38That's for them today because they've had it really, really tough.
10:40Has this been the lowest point so far since you took over, would you say?
10:44Yes, yes.
10:45Especially the first half was really disappointed, was embarrassing.
10:50And I should apologise to our fans, those that travel, those at home.
10:55This is not what we want to show them.
10:58We have problems in terms of squad, in terms of options.
11:03But that doesn't, is not a justification for what we did in the first half.
11:08The mistakes that we made, the lack of effort, discipline, organisation, responsibility, was very bad.
11:16Tell us about the feeling when you get the ball and you think, you know what, I'm going to have a crack here.
11:22Yeah, I saw John Henry say on the edge, but I thought, let me get a chance, let me shoot.
11:26And it went in and I was buzzing, buzzing to get my first goal.
11:30A moment you dream of, but did it feel even better in reality?
11:33Yes, 100%.
11:34When I saw it going, I just ran to the corner and did a nice knee slide and celebrated with the team and the fans.
11:39Can't help but smile, can you?
11:42His performance and just listening to him and there's only one place to start and that's for him.
11:46It's no coincidence that Wolves have certainly improved in the last three games and the three games are the ones that he's started.
11:54Liverpool, Man United and obviously today and everything was about him today.
12:00He brought an energy, he was brave on the ball, he was the best player on the park by a mile.
12:06He constantly did that, he just played with such confidence for someone so young.
12:12He played a huge part in that first goal.
12:17Little give, little go and he doesn't stop, look around the corner and he follows his ball.
12:22And we will talk about West Ham and how weak they were today, but they just couldn't handle him.
12:27He was too quick for them there, he gets the penalty, of course they score the penalty.
12:33And the same thing again, look, he's the wrong side.
12:36Then goes, takes the ball with the left foot and hits it with the right foot.
12:39Great skill to do there from him.
12:43Doing his bit defensively, which he had to do, more so second half when West Ham changed it a little bit.
12:51But he was more than prepared to do that.
12:54And, look at this little...
12:56This is brilliant, isn't it?
12:57The little flick through, there you go, see you later to Bowen and Fernandes.
13:02And that's a decent save there.
13:04And to get his first goal, it'll be a day he will never, ever forget.
13:10And so he shouldn't, because he's given something different to Wolves.
13:14And as I said, they've been better, far better when he's been in the team.
13:18And you can see that today, since he's been in the team.
13:21Look, all of a sudden, total shots, shots on target, fouls won.
13:26So, yeah, it looks very, very promising for him.
13:29He started off as a kid at Rochdale and Wolves brought him into their academy.
13:33And you talked to people around Wolves, so one of the things that they're impressed with him
13:39is that he's performing for the first team in the same way that he performs for the under-21s.
13:45He's sticking true to what he does.
13:47Is that, from your experience with academy coaching, is that unusual?
13:51Sometimes it is. I think you need a football personality.
13:54Obviously, you're dealing with different characters, but I think for this young man,
13:58who's a masterclass in terms of how he played, his desire,
14:00it looked like he's been there for years.
14:04And a lot of occasions, you get young players, like you said,
14:06they're in the under-18s or the 21s and they're the best player.
14:09All of a sudden, they go over to the first team and their games change a little bit.
14:13But, I mean, if he can excite us like the other Mane that we had in the Premier League,
14:18then it would be amazing. But what a performance.
14:21When you realise the pressure that Wolves are under,
14:24then you look at him today and just the way he played,
14:26and he played with such freedom. It was great to watch.
14:28Off the back of Anfield and Old Trafford as his first two.
14:34So, for all of that, and that's brilliant for Wolves,
14:36and what a boost that will give them.
14:39West Ham, on the other hand,
14:41what adjective would you use to describe West Ham?
14:44Well, I'll give you three or four. You can choose whatever you want.
14:47Weak, woeful, pathetic, useless.
14:50All of those things, particularly in the first half.
14:53I mean, I can't remember such a poor performance from a team in the first half.
14:57All over the park, not just in midfield.
14:59You can see the three midfielders there.
15:01Yes, that's great skill.
15:03Potts has got to come over.
15:05Fernandes has got to track the runner.
15:07Comes over, but there's no such effort to get back into the box.
15:10And all of a sudden, it's too late, you're punished.
15:12That was a constant today.
15:14Not following runners.
15:15Not prepared to win tackles.
15:17Not prepared to roll your sleeves up.
15:19Bwemo can run 30 or 40 yards up the pitch there, and there's no one within 10 yards of him.
15:24It's like, how do you want it?
15:26How easy do you want it?
15:27How free do you want to be?
15:29Take your time, put your ball into the box, of which they did.
15:33And they really just couldn't handle what Wolves were chucking at them.
15:38Magasa and Potts, same thing again.
15:40They don't win the tackle there.
15:42How many times that happened?
15:44Particularly in that first half, we lost count of it.
15:47Ball into the box again.
15:49Mane, who we've spoken about, who was brilliant, is free.
15:54The ball eventually falls to him, and he gets his penalty.
15:57Too late.
15:58It's weak.
15:59Same thing again.
16:01Jao Gomez, just have a look at this.
16:03Look at how, and there's just no desire to close down.
16:07He takes three touches before he puts the ball into the box.
16:10But for a wonderful save, that's another goal there.
16:13You've got Fernandes and Magasa again into the midfield.
16:19I mean, this is just, it's unbelievable this is.
16:23It's great skill, absolutely.
16:25But if you just have a look at, I don't know how to describe it,
16:29without swearing.
16:31Go on, swear.
16:32It's like, no, but just have a look at Mavropanis.
16:35If that's the best you can do in closing down,
16:38a defender turning your back, not preparing to put your foot in,
16:42when your team's in danger of being relegated.
16:44Seriously, you cannot allow that to happen.
16:47You have to do better than that.
16:49And that's why the manager was that angry at full time,
16:52because of performances and incidents like that.
16:54And you look at the comparison to what West Ham are like under Graham Potter
16:58and to where they are under Nuno,
17:00and actually the numbers are worse under Nuno than they were under Graham Potter.
17:04But, I mean, they're depressing whichever way you look at them,
17:07whichever coach you look at them.
17:09Which highlights really, Jermaine, what West Ham are like.
17:11This is deeper than who their head coach is.
17:13Yeah, because under Graham Potter, it was disappointing.
17:17The performances, the results weren't there.
17:19And obviously Nuno come in.
17:20I think naturally when a new manager comes in, you're going to get a reaction.
17:22I think that happens from the players.
17:24But since then, nothing's really happened, to be honest.
17:27I mean, the performances and...
17:29Players go into games and they work hard, but competing is different.
17:33You know, working hard and competing is completely different.
17:35And when you see the goal there, especially the Marnie one, you know,
17:37you have to...
17:38There's different phases of the game.
17:39When the ball goes wide, you're defending the box.
17:41As soon as it comes into the middle, you're defending the goal.
17:43And when you're seeing players shoot from the edge of the box
17:46and your defenders are not engaging or making contact,
17:49it's worrying for the manager and it's worrying for West Ham.
17:51What I would also say quickly is that the players and the manager
17:55have to accept the criticism that they're getting this season
17:58and particularly today.
17:59But what I also say is the money that West Ham have spent,
18:02the recruitment needs a good, hard, long look at as well
18:05because it hasn't been anywhere near good enough.
18:07OK. Arsenal began the day four points clear when they travelled to Bournemouth,
18:12who'd gone ten matches without a victory.
18:14Commentary on this one from Mark Scott.
18:16Bournemouth were responsible for half of Arsenal's
18:21four league losses last season.
18:23But you'd get long odds on them doing damage
18:26to the Gunners' title chances today.
18:29With that ten-game winless run,
18:31their worst under Antony Iraiola.
18:34Iraiola goes with the same side that started the draw at Chelsea.
18:38So Antoine Semenyo starts for the Cherries once again,
18:42despite Manchester City closing in on a deal for the Gunners.
18:45Mikel Arteta switches his side up by three.
18:49Declan Rice returns after missing the Villa game with a knee injury,
18:53while Noni Madweke and Gabriel Martinelli come in out wide.
18:57It's only Madweke's second start in the last 14 league games.
19:01Marino Trossa and Saka all move to the bench.
19:04Havertz misses out altogether as he's eased back in after that long layoff.
19:09This is the sixth time that Arsenal have topped the Premier League table by the end of New Year's Day.
19:17And on all five previous occasions they've failed to win the title.
19:22One more. Timba.
19:28Madweke.
19:31Good stuff by Noni Madweke!
19:34The run was excellent, the finish was poor.
19:37Still looking for his first Premier League goal for Arsenal, Noni Madweke.
19:42And he made real headway to get into a handy position.
19:46But then the accuracy was lacking with the hit.
19:49His side won a four-game winning run in the league for the second time this season.
19:55They didn't manage more than three in a row last season.
20:03All Deary Me given straight to Emma Nielsen!
20:07A horrific error!
20:13Has gifted Bournemouth the opening goal!
20:16goal and it was a chance gobbled up by Emma Nielsen Gabriel with an absolute nightmare here
20:25and Arsenal who we've got used to seeing being so watertight at the back with one of the biggest
20:32gaps you will see all season and Bournemouth are in front against the league leaders
20:38and forwards towards Brooks timber underneath it
20:52not far away I think Raya was hoping rather than expecting it to go wide
21:02go back a long way Mikel Arteta and Antoni Iraiola with the pair having played together
21:07for a youth team in the past country
21:15Zubimendi
21:17it's a bit too robust from Alex Jimenez
21:23hoping to do some damage at the other end now Gabriel after that error that led to the opener
21:30delivered by Teklum Rice and Petrovic is done with it to a certain extent
21:37Madweke
21:40forgets Semenyo and away from Semenyo and still going and across and blocked but in
21:48Arsenal level and it is Gabriel who makes amends for his ghastly error by blasting Arsenal level
21:56Madweke was really positive here absolutely did Semenyo and then cut it back looking for
22:04a teammate to get on the end of it Martinelli had the first pot which was blocked but Gabriel
22:10made no mistake when the ball broke his way
22:15a speedy response from the league leaders Bournemouth 1 Arsenal 1
22:22and what a start to the game
22:23here's Alex Scott
22:31Sinesi
22:35Jimenez
22:45Hill
22:46good ball
22:47and a good chance that Tavernier can't take
22:52no one picked up the run of Tavernier who couldn't quite maneuver the correct angle to find the net
23:00Zubimendi
23:01to Jokeres and Rice couldn't give it back to the Swede
23:08nice from Tavernier
23:08he lets himself down with the pass
23:13he's giving away possession cheaply again though
23:19Klaivert danger us all
23:21Tavernier should have done better
23:25but he couldn't get the correct touch on it
23:32Semenyo lovely first touch
23:38Semenyo
23:42still Semenyo
23:43Evan Nielsen
23:44Semenyo
23:46that's a tricky chance
23:49ball coming towards him and the first time scoop
23:52had too much height on it
24:00Sinesi's header
24:02finds its way to Truffert
24:04and Evan Nielsen struck down
24:09free kick taken quickly
24:11and they could be in here with Brooks
24:13Brooks
24:16Dozie from Arsenal
24:18but it was such a tough angle for David Brooks to try and find the net with
24:23switched off here didn't they
24:26Brooks might have been offside but
24:29no need for VAR to get involved as he wasn't able to get it inside the post
24:38Sinesi ahead of Jokeres there
24:46Martinelli
24:47Jokeres got the wrong side of his man
24:49Sinesi struggling to recover
24:50Odegaard now
24:52Rice
24:52brilliant
24:55absolutely clinical from Declan Rice
24:59and the league leaders have turned it around
25:01he's come in for a bit of stick
25:06for not making much of an impact this season Victor Jokeres
25:09but
25:10he was the man that started it all for Arsenal here
25:13causing a bit of panic inside the penalty area
25:16Odegaard saw Declan Rice
25:18and he saw exactly where he wanted to put the ball
25:22and caressed it beyond Petrovic and in
25:26first time stroke in is gorgeous from Declan Rice
25:31he scored in the loss to Bournemouth in May
25:35but has put Arsenal in front against the Cherries today
25:39to the delight of his manager
25:41Saka
25:51Timber
25:55here's Bukayo Saka
25:57Bryce
25:58game over now you feel
26:00Declan Rice at the double for Arsenal
26:02Sealed with a kiss
26:09and surely the goal that seals the win
26:12Saka with the intelligent run
26:14Rice peeled back
26:16Saka found him perfectly
26:18and you never really doubted Declan Rice
26:21when he went for another first time hit
26:25Bournemouth 1 Arsenal 3
26:27Bournemouth won't feel a bit hard done by at the current scoreline
26:30they've had their chances and they've been more than a match for Arsenal
26:37let's have it here
26:40Cook
26:42opens up for the hit here
26:44what a hit too from Kruppi
26:47and Bournemouth are back in business
26:51Junior Kruppi with a cracker
26:54beyond David Raya
26:57to move Bournemouth back to an inner goal
27:00well that is the definition of an impact sub
27:03and what an impact he had on the ball here
27:05a ripper beyond Raya
27:08little hope keeping that one out
27:10and it's Bournemouth 2
27:12Arsenal 3
27:14Sinesi pumped in
27:16Salivas underneath it
27:18he has a swing
27:19and it comes off
27:21Turian Timber
27:21for a throw for Bournemouth
27:22for a throw for Bournemouth
27:24and Antoine Semenyo will
27:26hurl this in
27:28what could be one of his final appearances for the club
27:31could he help out his potential new employers
27:36by helping Bournemouth take points off Arsenal
27:39Semenyo's throw
27:40keepers up there
27:44new year
27:45same outcome for Arsenal
27:48Mikel Arteta's men make it five wins in a row
27:52Bournemouth unhappy with the referee
27:55they felt there was still time left for them to try and do something
27:58but they fall just short
28:00against the league leaders
28:02who have shown grit and determination
28:05to recover from that dreadful start to win here
28:09by three goals to two
28:10today we conceded three goals
28:14against Arsenal
28:15and they haven't really had a lot of chances
28:17you know
28:18you can concede three goals
28:19because they are
28:20putting a lot of pressure on you
28:21they have I don't know
28:2225 shots
28:23and your keeper saves
28:25but I haven't felt like a game
28:27where we should be conceding three goals
28:29big praise to them
28:30because it's a team that creates
28:32so many questions
28:34and difficulties to you
28:36in everything that we do
28:37because they do it really well
28:38on top of that
28:39we put ourselves into a very difficult position
28:41in the manner that you concede the goal
28:44and then it's a big mountain to climb
28:45but I think the team showed a lot of maturity
28:48while Gabi's done
28:49so that mistake is remarkable
28:51and then the team slowly grow
28:54started to control and dominate the game much better
28:56scored two very great goals
28:58were you hoping for the hat-trick
28:59when you've previously been looking for two
29:01I actually was
29:02I was thinking one more cut back to me please
29:05but another chance didn't arise
29:06and Bournemouth for the last 15 minutes played really well
29:09you know they shut that space off
29:11so I was guided to not get the hat-trick
29:14but I'll keep trying
29:14maybe one day that might come
29:17well if he keeps adding the goals Jermaine
29:19he becomes even more the complete midfielder
29:21doesn't he
29:22unbelievable
29:22you know
29:23296 games
29:24and you know
29:25the first time he's got two goals in a Premier League game
29:27but it's
29:28I mean
29:28what a performance
29:29you know
29:29I think when you look at the
29:31the modern day midfielder
29:32you know
29:33he does everything
29:34you see here
29:34you know
29:35he's just an energy level just to get you up the pitch
29:37I remember Declan speaking a few years back to me
29:39and he sort of like modelled his game on Yaya Torre
29:41and that was sort of like
29:42Yaya Torre like
29:43you know
29:43just getting you up the pitch
29:44unfortunately
29:44didn't get the free kick there
29:45but even here
29:46you know
29:46he's always sort of like
29:47he knows what's around him
29:49that sort of like pitch geography
29:50you know
29:50he comes away from the pressure
29:51and you see here just that
29:52the change of speed there
29:54to caress it in the corner
29:55you know
29:55you know
29:56his body position
29:57his shoulder
29:57where he's relaxed his shoulders
29:58and you know
29:59good contact into the corner
30:00here you know
30:01just again
30:01the other side of the game
30:02you know
30:03can you
30:03out of possession
30:04can you be
30:05you know
30:05effective
30:06and then stop those sort of like
30:07balls into the front man
30:08you know
30:08you see him scanning there
30:09I think that's Clivert
30:10you know
30:11he stops the passes going forward
30:12and then you know
30:13he doesn't
30:14he doesn't stop there
30:14you know
30:15onto the second balls
30:16wins that
30:16you know
30:17just everything he did
30:18again you know
30:19just arriving into the box
30:20at the right time
30:21we spoke about
30:21you know
30:21if he can add goals to his game
30:22you know
30:23he becomes even a better player
30:24and the detail there
30:25just the scanning
30:26just to see where he's at
30:27and again
30:27the change of speed
30:28and sometimes
30:28people talk about in the box
30:29you know
30:30moving and getting to those areas
30:31but sometimes actually
30:31standing still
30:32you know
30:33and then when it comes
30:33then you've got executing that
30:34so you know
30:35that was his
30:36his second goal
30:37here again
30:37you know
30:38just sensing the danger
30:39you know
30:40Lewis Cook there
30:40just stuck on his heels
30:41and that
30:41but again
30:41getting it
30:42here
30:43again you know
30:44making contact
30:44not just sort of like
30:45getting close
30:46but actually making contact
30:47winning the ball back
30:48for his team
30:48you know
30:49he's fantastic
30:50energy levels
30:51and again
30:51scanning there
30:52so important
30:53just to know
30:53where you're at
30:54again just
30:55you know
30:55heads it round the corner
30:56he makes it look so easy
30:57he does exactly
30:59what the game told you to do
31:00you know
31:00he plays one touch
31:01he plays two touch
31:01you know
31:02he drives forward
31:03you know
31:03he got his two goals
31:04and I just felt that
31:05the performance was brilliant
31:06and you know
31:07if Arsenal are going to
31:07go on to win this title
31:09you know
31:09he's pivoting
31:10I mean
31:11he must be
31:12the perfect player
31:14for any manager
31:15it's a manager's dream
31:16he's a manager's dream
31:17he really is
31:18I mean
31:18his attitude is
31:19is amazing
31:20he very rarely
31:22misses games
31:22and when he's out there
31:24he's a regular
31:248 out of 10
31:26so
31:26he's been incredible
31:27so he said that to you
31:28did he about
31:29Yaya Toure
31:30that's right
31:30I remember watching it
31:31and he actually said that
31:32you know
31:32he
31:32he watched Yaya Toure's game
31:34and the way Yaya Toure's
31:34is to get the teams
31:35out of the pitch
31:35and you know
31:36drive through midfield
31:37and he's got that
31:37I think the only thing
31:38that now
31:38is probably
31:39adding a little bit
31:40more goals to his game
31:40and he can
31:41you know
31:41when he arrives
31:41on the edge of the box
31:42he makes good contact
31:43he's a good finisher
31:44Bournemouth are great to watch
31:46going forward
31:46their problem
31:47this season
31:48has been defensively
31:49when you look at the stats
31:51their numbers
31:52are way down
31:53which is maybe
31:54to be expected
31:55Jermaine I suppose
31:56given the number
31:57of defenders
31:58they lost in the summer
31:59and the goalkeeper
32:00yeah well
32:00it's not just defence
32:01I mean it's 10 players
32:01and I think
32:02when you look at that
32:02you know
32:03last season
32:04at this stage
32:04at this stage
32:04of the season
32:05you know
32:057th
32:05now 15th
32:07and you talk about
32:07when you concede
32:08that many goals
32:10you know
32:12you don't give yourself
32:13a chance to win games
32:14and they're a funny
32:15team to watch
32:16Bournemouth
32:16because some of the
32:17performance is actually good
32:18they play the right way
32:19they've got good players
32:19they have a go
32:20but you know
32:21if you can't concede
32:24if you start conceding goals
32:26it's so difficult
32:26to win games
32:27you think they'll be alright
32:28I think they'll be alright
32:29yeah I think they'll have
32:30enough up top
32:30when they'll get enough
32:31goals I think
32:32to be alright
32:32yeah
32:32ok
32:336 games

33:49win percentage
33:50at home
33:50than Aston Villa
33:51in 2025
33:53Nottingham Forest
33:54their first visitors
33:55of 2026
33:56and Steve Bauer
33:57was at this one
33:58Villa
34:01who've won
34:02their last
34:02ten games here
34:04are able to recall
34:05both Cash
34:06and Kamara
34:07after suspension
34:08both Captain McGinn
34:09and Martson
34:10also return
34:11and Nana
34:12is injured
34:12Nottingham Forest
34:14who've lost
34:14four of their last
34:15five Premier League games
34:16and their last
34:17five here
34:18are able to welcome
34:19back Ola Einer

34:22since September
34:23while Frenchman
34:24Dylan Bacqua
34:25starts for the first time
34:27under Sean Dyche
34:28Bright sunshine
34:34on a very chilly afternoon
34:36in the Midlands
34:37Williams is quickly
34:44closed down
34:44Watkins denied
34:45by John Victor
34:47it's still alive
34:50Martson
34:51it isn't now
34:53what a let off
34:55it's a fantastic stop
34:57you know
34:57from the Brazilian goalkeeper
34:59Nico Williams
35:00put under pressure
35:01by Rodgers
35:02and Watkins
35:03thought he'd given
35:04Villa the lead
35:05but the six foot six
35:07frame of John Victor
35:08did brilliantly well
35:09his right leg
35:10denying Watkins
35:12still trying to get
35:15his watch moving
35:16there I think
35:16classy from
35:21Konza
35:21Lindelof had to make
35:25that he didn't
35:26it's Dominguez
35:27for Nottingham Forest
35:28Hutchinson
35:30stepping inside
35:33and forcing the save
35:35out of Martinez
35:35when Hutchinson
35:40came inside here
35:41you could see his intention
35:43Martinez equal to it
35:44good height for him
35:45Rodgers
35:55Watkins
35:58the special moment
36:03that was required
36:05to break down
36:07Nottingham Forest
36:08stubborn resistance
36:10provided
36:12by the man in form
36:13Ollie Watkins
36:15on his 250th
36:18appearance for the club
36:19his sixth goal
36:21in seven
36:22Premier League games
36:23to finally
36:25unlock the forest door
36:27and it needed
36:31to be of the highest quality
36:32and it was
36:34two quick touches
36:37and then the emphatic one
36:39and John Victor actually
36:42went with his opposite hand there
36:44got something on it
36:46wasn't right in the corner
36:48but
36:48the speed of the strike
36:50went past him
36:52Unai Emery side
36:54have the advantage
36:56at the break
36:57Telemats
37:01Martin
37:02that's too close
37:04to the goalkeeper
37:04who's decided
37:05not to catch it
37:06got the job done
37:10in the end
37:11there's a slight
37:13question mark
37:14about John Victor
37:14there
37:15Simon Hooper
37:19says play on
37:20backward does that
37:21but he's closed down
37:22by Telemans
37:22Watkins behind
37:25McGinn
37:25cash is in space
37:28Kamara's found him
37:29McGinn coming in
37:312-0
37:34Aston Villa
37:35three and a half minutes
37:37into the second half
37:38a second
37:41Premier League goal
37:42of the season
37:42for the Villa skipper
37:44John McGinn
37:45well a perfect end
37:47to the first half
37:48and a dream start
37:50to the second
37:50to the second
37:50and he reacted
37:53quickly in the end
37:54here
37:54the credit
37:56Telemans there
37:57to win it back
37:58and it eventually
38:00came out of cash
38:02he delivered the cross
38:04for watch McGinn
38:04in ahead of Milenkovic
38:07who was a little
38:08flat-footed
38:09but the desire
38:11from John McGinn
38:12to get there
38:13won the day
38:15fully committed
38:17as ever
38:18Aston Villa two
38:20Nottingham Forest
38:22nil
38:22and committed
38:26meeting required
38:27now
38:27his team
38:29the second lowest
38:31scorers in the
38:31Premier League
38:32this season
38:33only 18 goals
38:34Forest have mustered
38:35long from Milenkovic
38:38Jesus
38:40he's done so well
38:43to potentially
38:43keep that alive
38:44Dominguez
38:45in from Hutchinson
38:47on and backward
38:49completely miscued
38:53the header
38:53first real moment
38:55of promise
38:56from Nottingham Forest
38:59early ball in
39:00eventually
39:01from
39:01Amari Hutchinson
39:03and that needed
39:04to go
39:05right across
39:06the face of the goal
39:08from Bakwa
39:09he knew that too
39:11as Bakwa
39:19Gibbs-White
39:20bursting forward
39:21and he's onside
39:22it's Morgan Gibbs-White
39:23for Forest
39:24hope is restored
39:28seven games
39:31without a goal
39:31he's popped up
39:33just past the hour mark
39:36with a perfect time
39:38to end that run
39:38and get it back
39:40to 2-1
39:41timed his run
39:44to perfection
39:44took his time
39:46and then lifted it
39:48beautifully
39:48past Emi Martinez
39:50lovely finish
39:52from the Forest skipper
39:54and from nowhere
39:55they are back
39:56in the game
39:57Villa two
39:58Forest one
39:5913 goals
40:02conceded
40:03in the last
40:03seven games
40:04now
40:04for the home team
40:04in the possession
40:07of Hutchinson
40:08couldn't find
40:12McAtee though
40:13Tielemans
40:18into McGinn
40:20oh the goalkeeper
40:21is in no man's land
40:22here
40:22and John McGinn
40:25makes him play
40:27his second
40:31and Villa's third
40:33and it could be a crucial goal
40:36in the outcome
40:37the skipper
40:39at the double
40:41well the goalkeeper's down
40:45holding his left calf
40:47but when this ball
40:49was played
40:49by
40:50Uri Tielemans
40:52he was never
40:54ever getting there
40:55that's a super finish
40:57from McGinn
40:57but
40:59John Victor
41:00caught
41:01where he was never
41:03getting to the ball
41:04or the man
41:04and from then on
41:07it was
41:08composure
41:09what McGinn provided
41:10look at the curl
41:12on that
41:12from that angle
41:13absolute
41:14precision
41:15Aston Villa 3
41:17Nottingham Forest 1
41:19and you would expect
41:21Matzels
41:22to be required here
41:24for the remaining
41:2517 minutes
41:26for Nottingham Forest
41:27and it is a tearful
41:31John Victor
41:31that leaves
41:33the field
41:34at Villa Park
41:35Matzels
41:36without a warm-up
41:37and he's told
41:38he is coming on
41:39Williams
41:45and Forest
41:48hit back
41:49straight away
41:50Gibbs White
41:51Martinez
41:53required
41:54well the goalkeeper
41:57was changed
41:57at one end
41:58the Villa one
41:59had to stay warm
42:01and had to stay alive
42:02with a save
42:03you would have
42:04expected him to make
42:05Aston Villa
42:07up to second
42:08with an 11th
42:10consecutive home win
42:12the last time
42:13that happened
42:13was 36
42:15years ago
42:16that is
42:17five defeats
42:18in six though
42:18for Forest now
42:19Aston Villa 3
42:20Nottingham Forest 1
42:22the manager
42:25pushes me a lot
42:25he's very demanding
42:27he says I should be
42:27scoring more goals
42:28getting in better positions
42:29and we do a lot
42:31of analysis
42:32and this morning
42:33he pushed me hard
42:34to get in those positions
42:35and thankfully today
42:36I've managed to get
42:37two goals
42:37so hopefully
42:38he'll get off my back
42:39a wee bit
42:39it's a strange situation
42:41today because
42:41there's a lot of energy
42:42out there
42:42there's a lot of
42:42performance
42:43there's a lot of
42:43mentality
42:44because you know
42:44come back 2-1
42:45looks at everyone
42:46but you can't keep
42:47giving yourself a mountain
42:48to climb
42:49we did it in the last game
42:50you know
42:50pretty soft goals
42:51you know
42:51from the organisational
42:53point of view
42:53and just players
42:54just switching off
42:55to the basics
42:56you know
42:56and the basics
42:57of principles
42:57of the shape
42:58and the organisation
42:59We were focusing
43:00a lot this match
43:00to try to
43:02to keep the energy
43:04we had
43:05or we showed
43:06but of course
43:07playing out of matches
43:08and last week
43:09in Chelsea
43:10then Arsenal
43:11now again
43:13we needed
43:15rest
43:16we needed
43:17work
43:18and get focused
43:20for this match
43:20with the energy
43:21we showed
43:22and how the players
43:25respond
43:25in all demand
43:27we are settling
43:28really fantastic
43:29well they struggled
43:31in the second half
43:32of the Emirates
43:32Alan
43:33because they lost
43:34Inanna at half time
43:35with injury
43:36and Kamara
43:36was suspended
43:37they had him back
43:38today
43:39and it made a big
43:39difference
43:40yeah with Kamara
43:41and Tielemans
43:42in that midfield
43:43and then you heard
43:44John McGinn
43:45saying he has to
43:45get other managers
43:46telling them to get
43:46into better positions
43:47well that happened
43:48today
43:48and it worked
43:49perfectly for them
43:50today
43:50and the midfield
43:51balance was
43:51absolutely superb
43:53I thought
43:53you got Kamara
43:54and Tielemans
43:55there
43:55this is in the
43:56first minute
43:57and it all
43:58happens
43:58because of
43:59their positioning
44:00really
44:00is that
44:01there's actually
44:02no way out
44:02for Nottingham Forest
44:03when they win
44:04the ball back
44:05because they're
44:06closing down there
44:07and then all of a
44:10sudden
44:10they're closing
44:11down there
44:11and there's just
44:12no way out
44:13at all
44:13Rogers is also
44:14closing there
44:15so force them
44:16into a mistake
44:18and after the first
44:19minute
44:19it should be 1-0
44:20Ollie Watkins
44:20should put the ball
44:21in the back
44:22and then it's
44:22a decent save
44:23and then the
44:24last minute
44:25of the half
44:25where Forest
44:26are thinking
44:26they're doing
44:27okay
44:27the midfield
44:28balance again
44:29they get
44:29the throwing
44:30and their
44:31set up there
44:31is perfect
44:32and that little
44:33swivel here
44:34from Tielemans
44:35then the pass
44:36into Rogers
44:37he doesn't even
44:37look
44:38he actually knows
44:38exactly where he
44:40is
44:41and as I said
44:41that balance
44:42was superb
44:42I mean the
44:43finish is wow
44:44it's a fantastic
44:45goal
44:45it really is
44:46and again
44:47there's no way
44:48out
44:48they just don't
44:49give up on it
44:50Tielemans is there
44:51expecting
44:52there's no foul
44:53but what's the
44:54reaction
44:55he's straight
44:56after it
44:57he blocks it
44:57and then all of a
44:58sudden Villa
44:58are on the front
44:59foot
44:59and then you can
45:00see his midfield
45:01partner there
45:01Kamara
45:02he's then getting
45:03forward and playing
45:04the pass in
45:04and then McGinn's
45:05getting into those
45:06good positions
45:07that he was on
45:09about that
45:09his manager's
45:10telling him to
45:10get into
45:11I mean this is
45:12an incredible
45:13pass and a great
45:14touch from McGinn
45:14like a quarterback
45:16pass isn't it
45:16there
45:17he just guides it
45:18in there
45:19but you see the
45:19touch better
45:20I mean God
45:21knows what the
45:21goalkeeper's doing
45:22I haven't got a
45:23clue where he is
45:24but just have a
45:25look at the
45:25pass here
45:26the way to pass
45:28and then the
45:29touch from McGinn
45:30you can see where
45:31he wants it
45:32that touch there
45:33with the right foot
45:34and then to get
45:34that much bend
45:35and curl on it
45:36when he's under
45:37pressure
45:37it really is a
45:38great finish
45:39you can see it
45:40there from this
45:40angle
45:41how far
45:41have a look at
45:42the ball boy
45:42as well
45:42he's ready to
45:43go
45:43look
45:43he's up on
45:44his knees
45:45ready to celebrate
45:45it's such a
45:48clever goal
45:48a clever finish
45:49but I thought
45:50the midfield
45:51balance for
45:51Villa to do
45:52was spot on
45:53and that takes
45:55them into
45:56second
45:57from a
45:58Nottingham Forest
45:58point of view
45:59we can show you
46:00the sort of run
46:01that they are on
46:01at the moment
46:02Sean Dyche
46:04Allen said
46:04afterwards
46:05before today's game
46:07if you look at
46:08their last six
46:08so from Wolves
46:09onwards
46:10they've taken six
46:11points out of
46:11those six games
46:12and Sunderland
46:14in that same
46:14period had taken
46:15seven
46:16so it's his job
46:17to look at the
46:18reality
46:18he said
46:19not the noise
46:20and Sunderland
46:21are obviously
46:21getting a lot
46:22do you understand
46:22that logic
46:23I understand
46:23where he's coming
46:24from and what
46:25he's trying to say
46:25because he's trying
46:26to give his team
46:27a little bit of
46:28confidence
46:28and a little bit
46:29of belief
46:30but what I would
46:31say the game
46:31they have on
46:32Tuesday against
46:33West Ham
46:33at West Ham
46:34is a huge game
46:36for both football
46:37clubs
46:37and if Forest
46:38can go there
46:39and win
46:39I would say
46:40that's pretty much
46:41enough for them
46:41do you think
46:42Forest in that
46:43game can take
46:44advantage of
46:45the pressure
46:46that will be
46:46on West Ham
46:47at home
46:47and what the
46:48atmosphere will be
46:49like
46:49I think they're
46:50going to have
46:50to
46:50I think they're
46:51going to have
46:51to go there
46:52and try and
46:53win the game
46:53like we said
46:54before
46:54it's a massive
46:55game
46:56from a West Ham
46:57point of view
46:57being at home
46:58someone's actually
46:59better being away
47:00there's always
47:01been an expectation
47:02and a demand
47:03to play the right
47:04way at West Ham
47:05to win games
47:05to compete
47:06like we spoke
47:06about
47:06at the top
47:07of the show
47:08but that is
47:08a huge game
47:09massive
47:10Forest probably
47:11have more
47:12carry more
47:12of a threat
47:13don't they
47:13well yeah
47:14I mean
47:14judging
47:15they've lost
47:15the last four
47:16but judging
47:17by their
47:17performance today
47:18and the noise
47:19that will
47:19create West Ham
47:20it'll be a tough
47:21atmosphere
47:22they'll be at home
47:22on Tuesday
47:23OK
47:24there's a pattern
47:25to Brighton's
47:26last six
47:26it reads
47:27lost draw
47:28lost draw
47:29lost draw
47:30they were looking
47:31to break the
47:32sequence against
47:32a Burnley side
47:33six points from
47:34safety
47:35Simon Brotherton
47:35was at the
47:36Amex
47:3618 year old
47:39Greek international
47:40Haralampos Kostoulos
47:41makes his first
47:42Premier League start
47:43and Caro Mitoma
47:45is first in over
47:46three months
47:46Jorginho Rutter
47:48and Brian Gruder
47:49both come in too
47:50Pascal Gross
47:51has just rejoined
47:52the club
47:52from Borussia Dortmund
47:53and is named
47:54as one of the
47:55substitutes
47:55Burnley make
47:57three changes
47:57with Jadon Antony
47:59and Jakob Brun Larsson
48:00playing
48:00instead of
48:01Marcus Edwards
48:02and Lume Chowna
48:03while Bashir Humphreys
48:04starts at the back
48:05with Maxime Stev
48:07absent through injury
48:08Burnley actually
48:10unbeaten in their
48:11last seven
48:12away league
48:12fixtures
48:13against Brighton
48:14and Hove Albion
48:15haven't lost
48:15away to them
48:16in over a decade
48:17now
48:18excellent play
48:20opportunity
48:21taking flag
48:22up straight away
48:23though
48:23to deny
48:24Kostoulos
48:25took his chance
48:27extremely well
48:28but the flag
48:29was raised
48:29immediately
48:30as soon as
48:30the ball
48:31was played
48:31forward
48:31very tight
48:34call there
48:34but Kostoulos
48:35certainly took
48:37the chance
48:38superbly well
48:39it looked close
48:41and indeed
48:42it was
48:43it was
48:43extremely close
48:44and it was
48:46almost
48:46the perfect
48:48start for
48:48Fabian Herzl
48:49this team
48:49small margins
48:51Brighton
48:52without a win
48:52actually
48:53in just over
48:54a month now
48:55back end of
48:55November
48:56at Nottingham
48:56Forest
48:57looking to
48:57make a positive
48:58start to this
48:58one
48:59in towards
48:59Ruta
49:00blasted
49:01towards goal
49:01by Gomez
49:02and it was
49:04a shot
49:04that was

49:06woods
49:07here
49:07from
49:07Diego
49:07Gomez
49:08deflected
49:10behind
49:10by
49:10Ekdal
49:11it's
49:15excellent
49:16play
49:16from
49:16Jorginho
49:17Ruta
49:17backed up
49:18by
49:18Gruda
49:18Ajari
49:20Kostoulis
49:22is in there
49:22blasted
49:23home
49:23by Ruta
49:24it's taken
49:26them nearly
49:27half an hour
49:28but this time
49:30the home side
49:30really are ahead
49:31and Jorginho
49:34Ruta
49:34has his second
49:35goal of the
49:36season
49:36Ruta's
49:38initial
49:39attacking burst
49:40appeared to have
49:40come to an end
49:41Gruda
49:42and Ajari
49:43kept it alive
49:44and Kostoulis
49:46with the deflection
49:47that fell
49:48at the Frenchman's
49:50feet
49:50and Ruta
49:51buried the chance
49:52Joel Veltman
49:56with the throw

50:07of it
50:07here
50:08with
50:08Kyle Walker
50:09for company
50:10it's going to be
50:16Brighton's
50:17ball
50:17so
50:20Burnley
50:21finding
50:22themselves
50:23in a
50:23familiar
50:23position

50:57that's the
50:57best we've
50:58seen
50:58from Burnley
50:58almost
50:59on the
51:00stroke
51:00of
51:00half
51:00time

51:16is he
51:18done
51:18Gomez
51:18can't
51:19find a
51:19way

51:20but

51:20tries to
51:21send
51:21it

51:22Yasin

51:26to the
51:26second
51:26half
51:27for
51:27Brandon
51:27Hove
51:28Albion
51:28the lead
51:32is doubled
51:33and we've only been playing
51:34just over a minute
51:35following the restart
51:36and Burnley's problems
51:39this afternoon
51:40have just got a whole lot worse
51:41only half cleared by
51:44Hugo Chukwu
51:45Ayari was
51:47quick on his feet
51:49quick to react
51:50quick to collect
51:52the loose ball
51:53and Ayari has his
51:55third goal of the season
51:57Bryant looking to make
51:59a winning start
52:00to the new year
52:01they've made a bit
52:01of a habit of it
52:02they've only lost
52:03their first league game
52:04at the start
52:07of a calendar year
52:08once in the last
52:0916 years
52:10before today
52:11Laurentino Luis
52:15he's lost his way
52:17in a pretty big way
52:18and it could so easily
52:20have been three
52:21Dubravka
52:22makes the save
52:24from Kostoulas
52:25Feldman moves it on
52:32Gruda's got support
52:33on the far side
52:34this is Ayari
52:41Kostoulas was there
52:43Kadiolu moving in
52:45at the far post
52:46as well
52:46it might have been
52:47a tap in for him
52:47had it gone that far
52:48and Yasin Ayari
52:50who scored the second
52:52very nearly creating
52:54a third
52:54as Kostoulas
52:56stretching
52:56that's an excellent
52:59pass for Marcus
53:00Edwards
53:01to latch onto
53:02Luum Chawna
53:03is up alongside him
53:04Jadon Anthony

53:37there
53:37and Brighton

54:42of Bart Verbruggen
54:43there
54:43Brighton
54:45back to winning
54:46ways
54:46their first
54:47victory in
54:48seven
54:48Brighton
54:49two
54:49Burnley
54:50nil
54:50I thought
54:53we were poor
54:53today
54:53yeah I thought
54:54we were really
54:54poor
54:55I thought
54:55we didn't
54:57deserve anything
54:58from the game
54:58today really
54:59so I think
55:00there's been
55:00other games
55:00where I've stood
55:01here and said
55:01that we
55:02we was competitive
55:04and the results
55:05have not gone
55:06our way
55:06but we've
55:07we've been
55:07hugely competitive
55:08today
55:08it wasn't the
55:08case really
55:09and it was
55:11a big shift
55:11from
55:11we lost the
55:13game
55:13only three
55:14days ago
55:14against Newcastle
55:15which
55:16was very
55:17different
55:17to how
55:18we looked
55:19today really
55:19I thought
55:19we lacked
55:20a little
55:20belief
55:21today
55:21and that's
55:22that was
55:23why we're
55:23in today
55:24we controlled
55:24the game
55:25I think
55:25there was
55:26one chance
55:26for
55:27for Burnley
55:28in the first
55:29half
55:29overall
55:30we defended
55:31quite well
55:31we had
55:32some good
55:33chance
55:33after set
55:34pieces
55:34we don't
55:34had
55:35that many
55:35chances
55:36in the first
55:36half
55:37but in the
55:37second
55:37half
55:37again
55:38we started
55:38well
55:39we created
55:39more chances
55:40we controlled
55:41the game
55:42quite well
55:42so it was
55:43not a perfect
55:43game
55:44but overall
55:45it was a
55:45good performance
55:46and in the end
55:47we kept a
55:48clean sheet
55:49then we deserved
55:49to go
55:49the way we
55:50lost today
55:50is not
55:51one which
55:52was nice
55:54for us
55:54really
55:54and not
55:55acceptable
55:55really
55:55and we need
55:56a reaction
55:56now for sure
55:57and like you
55:59said the saving
55:59grace is that
56:00there is only
56:01x amount
56:01of points
56:02but that's
56:02irrelevant
56:02to be quite
56:03honest with you
56:03because
56:04if we want
56:05to perform
56:05at times
56:06like we did
56:06today
56:07then whatever
56:08points are
56:09we're not
56:09going to get
56:10enough
56:10he's been
56:11positive in
56:12recent post-match
56:13interviews
56:13as Scott Parker
56:14Jermaine
56:14hasn't he
56:15but not
56:15today
56:16he was
56:16fuming
56:16yeah I mean
56:17Bern's win
56:18that's run
56:18now extends
56:18to 11
56:19Premier League
56:19games
56:20really disappointing
56:21I mean
56:22last season
56:22yeah of course
56:23you know
56:23in the
56:24championship
56:24conceding 16
56:25goals
56:26and you know
56:27this season
56:27they've conceded
56:2839 goals
56:29I mean
56:30the signs were
56:30there from
56:31early on
56:31you know
56:31they look like
56:33an okay
56:34position right
56:35there and
56:35you know
56:35it's just a
56:36long bow over
56:36the top
56:37but the signs
56:37were there
56:38I think that's
56:38poor defending
56:38from the fullback
56:39you've got to be
56:40in the inside
56:41looking out
56:41here you know
56:43Rudy gets it
56:44here and you
56:44think right
56:46there's not
56:47anywhere you can
56:47go really
56:48you know
56:48you can't
56:48come back
56:48inside
56:49you've got to
56:49make contact
56:50and you know
56:50try and win
56:51the ball
56:52and stop
56:53them getting
56:53inside
56:53it's sort of
56:54poor defending
56:55there
56:55is that too
56:56easy for you
56:56it's too easy
56:57to get through
56:57yeah a little bit
56:58of fortune there
56:59when he gets
57:00the goal
57:00and that
57:00but I just
57:01feel like
57:01when the ball
57:02goes wide
57:02you have to
57:02make contact
57:03and win the
57:04ball
57:04again they've
57:05got bodies
57:05back
57:05don't really
57:06look like
57:06they're in
57:06much danger
57:07no contact
57:08you know
57:09poor really
57:10again you know
57:11can you sort of
57:12like regain it
57:12and try and
57:13play out
57:13and it's just
57:15an unbelievable
57:15finish
57:16but yeah I mean
57:17they caused
57:18their own problems
57:18to be honest
57:19you know
57:19there again
57:20you know
57:20overplaying
57:21sometimes you know
57:22when you're
57:23away from home
57:23it's difficult
57:23you've got to
57:24get the ball
57:24from back to
57:25front quicker
57:25this should have
57:26been a goal
57:27and they just
57:28continue to play
57:29the same way
57:30and it sort of
57:31goes even
57:32ahead you know
57:32no one's
57:33engaging
57:34getting close
57:35it's too easy
57:35you know
57:35not defending
57:36the box
57:37again another
57:38great chance
57:39you know
57:39Brighton could
57:40have scored
57:40four goals
57:41and you can
57:42see why
57:43Scott Park
57:43is disappointed
57:44because
57:44it's a reflection
57:45on a team
57:46that he wants
57:47to put out
57:48and like I
57:48said you know
57:49last season
57:49conceding 16
57:50goals
57:51and it's almost
57:52against his
57:52principles
57:5339 goals
57:54which is way
57:54too many
57:55Brighton
57:57up to 8
57:58despite that
57:58being just
57:59their first
57:59win in 7
58:007 yeah
58:01that's the big
58:02picture for
58:02Brighton
58:03I think I
58:03would expect
58:04something around
58:05that now
58:05and I know
58:06there were
58:07one or two
58:07that weren't
58:08happy on that
58:09run but
58:10they're back
58:10to winning
58:11ways and as
58:11you said
58:12back up to
58:128
58:12here's the
58:13table then
58:13Arsenal extend
58:14their lead to
58:156 points
58:16Manchester City
58:17face Chelsea
58:17on Sunday
58:18Villa are into
58:192nd after an
58:198th successive
58:20home league win
58:21Wolves have
58:22doubled their
58:23points tally for
58:24the season after
58:24beating West Ham
58:25West Ham 4 points
58:27behind Forest
58:27and they play
58:28each other on
58:29Tuesday
58:29that's it
58:30thanks to Alan
58:31and Jermaine
58:32and now that
58:32they have that
58:33first win
58:33maybe 2026
58:34will be the
58:35year of the
58:35wolf
58:36goodnight
58:36we'll be the
58:39next time
58:39we'll be the
58:39next time
