00:00:00The NBA Challenge Cup, everyone wants to win.
00:00:02Crazy gang have beaten the Culture Club.
00:00:06Gerrard!
00:00:07Oh yes!
00:00:09The score is here, but that continues.
00:00:11What a goal!
00:00:13Back with a score!
00:00:14Steve's in trouble!
00:00:16Come on!
00:00:17Give it up!
00:00:18This is the moment of joy that all professional footballers hope for.
00:00:22And Mo Manitrae, for the first time, Crystal Palace are winners!
00:00:30Good evening. Highlights from the third round of the FA Cup on Match of the Day tonight for Premier League and Championship Clubs.
00:00:36This weekend marks the start of the long road to Wembley.
00:00:3922 ties to pack in. Luckily, nothing gets past Rob Green nor Dion Dublin.
00:00:45No team from the sixth tier has ever beaten top-flight opposition in the FA Cup.
00:00:49So a massive task facing non-league Macclesfield as they welcome cup holders Crystal Palace.
00:00:54Commentary from Stephen Warnock and Guy Mowbray.
00:00:56The biggest day in the all-new Macclesfield FC's short history.
00:01:02If they win, it would be the biggest shock in the FA Cup's rich history.
00:01:07Macclesfield's leading scorer, Danny Elliott, has again been ruled out, having missed their last two games.
00:01:12With his role once more being played by former Manchester United junior, Damani Mellor.
00:01:16For Palace, six changes from their goal at straw with Aston Villa on Wednesday.
00:01:20But still a strong side for the cup holders, with Chris Richards back from injury and Mark Gahey, Adam Wharton and Jeremy Pino all starting.
00:01:30Brilliant atmosphere.
00:01:31Super day for it.
00:01:34Let Macclesfield against Palace begin.
00:01:36That was quite a nasty clash of heads.
00:01:41Paul Dawson will not be worried of taking a knock very early on.
00:01:44He's used to taking them and giving them quite a bit.
00:01:47Paul Dawson, incidentally, will have to leave the field at least temporarily with blood trickling from a cup.
00:01:53There's Rob Smethurst, the owner of Macclesfield FC.
00:01:56Who was leading this club to ever greater height, season upon season.
00:02:03The proper job's been done on Captain Dawson.
00:02:10Uche.
00:02:13Uche shots!
00:02:14Not far away.
00:02:16And it flew towards goal like a rocket.
00:02:19Well, there's your warning sign from Macclesfield's point of view.
00:02:22That's what Uche can bring.
00:02:24But when he lets fly there, I don't think the keeper realises how close that is.
00:02:34Richards.
00:02:35A little too high for Rodney.
00:02:37K.
00:02:39Rodney's challenge is deemed unfair.
00:02:41It's going to be a free kick for Macclesfield.
00:02:43He's just come into the game in the last few minutes, hasn't he?
00:02:46K, he's dangerous, he's quick.
00:02:48He's direct in the way that he plays.
00:02:50Draws the foul here from Rodney.
00:02:52Does well with his feet to get across.
00:02:56There's some more running repairs needed for Paul Dawson.
00:02:59It's a particular look, isn't it?
00:03:03Now Duffy puts it in.
00:03:05That doesn't look a bad ball.
00:03:06It's a great ball.
00:03:07It's a wonderful goal.
00:03:08Captain Dawson hits the Southman in front.
00:03:20Perfect for the non-league team.
00:03:23Just perfect.
00:03:24This time, it's Luke Duffy to spin it in with his right foot.
00:03:29And this time he's not looking to hit that near post.
00:03:32He's just looking to hang it up and give his opportunity to the big players at the back post.
00:03:39It's absolutely brilliant.
00:03:42To mobile Macclesfield fans, we'll never forget.
00:03:45Rob Smithhurst, almost in tears.
00:03:52Oliver Glasner now starting to look a little agitated.
00:03:56The first Austrian coach to win the greatest cup competition in the world.
00:04:00Won his home nation's cup twice as a player with SV Reid.
00:04:08Buckley Ricketts.
00:04:09There's Mellor who goes down.
00:04:11Richard's challenging.
00:04:12Buckley Ricketts comes out of the pot with the ball.
00:04:15Palace just can't get it away.
00:04:17Buckley Ricketts didn't get it out.
00:04:19Oh, he did.
00:04:19Yes, he did.
00:04:21He's touched it past the leaders.
00:04:24And it's two for Macclesfield.
00:04:30Now we're really in the realms of the big cup fantasy.
00:04:37Buckley Ricketts keeps trying to get through.
00:04:40He's like a battering ram.
00:04:42He finds himself on that far side.
00:04:43And as this shot comes in, look how he readjusts.
00:04:46He just readjusts, stabs it towards goal.
00:04:50And the goalkeeper, Walter Benitez, is almost wrong-footed.
00:04:53He's going the other way.
00:04:58That's Oliver Glasner's reaction.
00:05:00What to do, what to do.
00:05:04I don't think Mark Bright and Steve Parrish are particularly impressed with anything much that they've seen so far today.
00:05:14There is still time for Palace to change the whole story.
00:05:18Here's Uche.
00:05:19Uche.
00:05:21Uche across the face.
00:05:22He didn't miss by a lot, but he did miss.
00:05:25You say it can change in an instance.
00:05:27It nearly did.
00:05:28And it's just because Uche gets half a yard and Heathcote doesn't want to go too close to him because he's worried about him skipping beyond him.
00:05:35Look at the Crystal Palace fans.
00:05:38Like I said, off at four this morning.
00:05:40Goodness me.
00:05:46It's Mitchell.
00:05:48Meneasic.
00:05:49It's not away yet.
00:05:51And that's Walter.
00:05:53Oh, good save.
00:05:55Funded towards Durnley's goal.
00:05:58Durnley's been relatively quiet throughout this game.
00:06:01When called upon here, he makes a really good stop.
00:06:04I wonder what big brother thinks.
00:06:07Oh, he'd be happy.
00:06:08He'd be absolutely delighted, won't he?
00:06:10Very proud, I'm sure.
00:06:13Michaelsfield have had to deal with that tragic setback losing Ethan McLeod, but what a performance they're putting on in his memory.
00:06:22Durnley stayed back on his line.
00:06:24Dawson's header.
00:06:26That's going to be a free kick for Palace.
00:06:30Meller was just beaten to it by Mark Gahey.
00:06:34Sosa or Johnson.
00:06:38It's going to be Brennan Johnson, and he's done it.
00:06:41He's curled in a beauty.
00:06:43Oh, it's Pino.
00:06:43It's Jeremy Pino who took it.
00:06:45My mistake.
00:06:46Yeah, he had to get it up and over that wall.
00:06:48It's a quite brilliant free kick from Pino.
00:06:51And you just get that sense now around the stadium.
00:06:54That worry that things could possibly turn very quickly.
00:06:59Now all of the Macclesfield fans are holding their breaths after all this work.
00:07:04Palace have still got fight in them.
00:07:07That's Gahey.
00:07:09There's Casey.
00:07:11Now Johnson.
00:07:13Johnson's ball in.
00:07:14Looks a good one.
00:07:15Matheson's ready for it.
00:07:16This is Warton.
00:07:18And it hits the roof of the stands.
00:07:21And now we are in the sixth minute of added time.
00:07:25The board said six.
00:07:29Sosa.
00:07:32Headed away from Uche.
00:07:34It's a missed kick, but now Dawson will have the last kick.
00:07:40And how fitting is that?
00:07:46Macclesfield.
00:07:47And National League North.
00:07:49And knocked out Premier League Crystal Palace.
00:07:52The FA Cup holders.
00:07:53It is the biggest shock that the world's greatest cup competition has ever seen.
00:08:01No, you know, we spoke earlier and we spoke about hope and having a chance.
00:08:09But I never really believed it.
00:08:11That was just me hoping.
00:08:12But, wow, the boys were absolutely outstanding.
00:08:15And the way the performance their pups put on, wow.
00:08:18You know, we can give them a little bit on the side and help them in that sense.
00:08:21But they've got to cross that right hander and I couldn't be any prouder.
00:08:24Yeah, disappointed, embarrassed.
00:08:28Been involved in many games as a player and as a manager.
00:08:30I think this is one of the worst I've seen.
00:08:38Yeah, so congratulations to Macclesfield for the win.
00:08:42I do whatever I can, week in, week out.
00:08:44You've got to give 110% and that's what every one of the lads did tonight.
00:08:48So, yeah, I'm proud.
00:08:51The lads were class.
00:08:53He was magnificent.
00:08:55They were absolutely brilliant.
00:08:57Dion, good evening.
00:08:58Good evening, Rob.
00:08:58I mean, this is what the Cup is all about.
00:09:00Yeah, they're incredible scenes and what a time for a club that they didn't have a club
00:09:04six years ago and then after the recent weeks of death of Ethan McLeod,
00:09:08one of their players to bring everybody together is just wonderful.
00:09:13Paul Dawson, Dion, what an afternoon.
00:09:15Yeah, I mean, there wasn't a blade of grass that he didn't cover.
00:09:19He was a leader.
00:09:22I'll show you exactly what he did because we've got this run of him heading it, kicking it,
00:09:28tackles, everything that you want your captain to do as a leader and as somebody that's going
00:09:35to show you how to compete in a FA Cup game.
00:09:39First challenge, Crystal Palace.
00:09:41This is what it's all about.
00:09:42This is what it's all about.
00:09:44I'm the captain.
00:09:45Clash of heads.
00:09:46He cuts his head and there's a bit of a melee there.
00:09:49But I just believe that he set the tone and he put into the Crystal Palace players' heads,
00:09:55it's going to be a hard day for you today.
00:09:57We know exactly how to play against you.
00:09:59He was the leader.
00:10:00He was getting crosses in.
00:10:01He was out on the left wing.
00:10:03He was playing in the middle of the park as well.
00:10:05This is a great clip here where he's just really tenacious and he holds on to the ball
00:10:11and then he calms down because he's under a bit of pressure and he keeps the ball nice
00:10:16and simple and then his team get on the front foot again.
00:10:19Yeah, and he was just so composed at times.
00:10:21He knew where to be, when to be, when to put his body on the line.
00:10:25He's just saying that bit there is just wonderful and then the opportunity to just calm down.
00:10:29And here, Dion touched on it, big cambo in a 1v1 in the first moments.
00:10:34Here, same player, got the muscle memory, got his one-up on his opponent
00:10:39and it is a wonderful header and brilliant, brilliant celebrations.
00:10:44I mean, absolutely fantastic.
00:10:46Well done, Macclesfield.
00:10:47And a day that will live long in the memory of the players, but also the fans as well.
00:10:51Absolutely fantastic.
00:10:52Well done, Paul Dawson.
00:10:53But Macclesfield stopped Palace, didn't he, in every part of the ground?
00:10:56Yeah, and he just touched on what Paul Dawson did, but epitomising the whole team as well
00:11:01and how they cut the lines off to Crystal Palace, slowed them down, made them look ordinary,
00:11:06really ordinary at times, and it was such a well-disciplined and well-executed performance.
00:11:12And the manager touched on it before the game and after the game, said,
00:11:15we want to play a 4-5-1, we want to cut the lines off into someone like Jeremy Pino,
00:11:19and it's just these lines that made it look so pedestrian on the ball from Crystal Palace
00:11:25that they knew when to go as well, when to go in numbers, that they're saying,
00:11:29right, OK, this is the opportunity that we've got to go high.
00:11:32It's not just those two, you can see there are three, four other players around them
00:11:36forcing the error, and Dion, they did this for the whole 90 minutes as well.
00:11:40Yeah, we know how good Wharton can be, and he was forced to make mistake after mistake,
00:11:45just through not one blue shirt going, but three and four, there will be a trigger,
00:11:50the trigger goes, and then they went in behind the trigger.
00:11:53It happened for the whole of the game, and it worked.
00:11:56I mean, the way that they hold the line, Crystal Palace players were offside five or six times today,
00:12:03they just couldn't get themselves in, because the two centre-halves were talking,
00:12:07the two full-bats were talking a lot.
00:12:09Again, the ball goes back five yards, watch this one, five yards,
00:12:12and the back five are up on the 18-yard line, making it really difficult,
00:12:17no space to play in whatsoever, and they're offside.
00:12:21And when you do that, and you get those offside decisions, it's because that man there has worked on it in training,
00:12:28and I'm so pleased for John Rooney.
00:12:30Yeah, look at that smile. Fantastic.
00:12:32In our big screen tonight, lovely stuff.
00:12:33And Dion, how incredible that the last time we saw Crystal Palace in the FA Cup was in the final,
00:12:38when they beat Manchester City.
00:12:40Who would have thought, here we are in studio, and we're talking about Palace being humbled by Macclesfield.
00:12:44Well, they were humbled by the better team today, in every aspect, the work rate, a full house,
00:12:53you know, their biggest crowd, I think, and I just believe, if you, you might not be as good as these Premier League players,
00:12:59but if you give everything and you're organised, look what might happen.
00:13:03Absolutely right. Well done, Macclesfield.
00:13:04Right, next to the all-Premier League time between Newcastle United and Bournemouth,
00:13:08commentary from Darren Ambrose and Dan Mason.
00:13:10Seven changes today for the Magpies, with Kieran Trippier returning,
00:13:18and rare starts for Joe Willock and Jacob Ramsey.
00:13:21But this is far from a weakened team, Eddie Howe starting both Nick Voltemada and Johan Wisser.
00:13:28Six changes for Bournemouth, who have not only lost Antoine Semenyo to City,
00:13:32but also Justin Cliver to injury.
00:13:35I mean, Adley gets the job of replacing Semenyo on the wing,
00:13:39while Ennis Unau starts his first Terries game in over a year.
00:13:48This is the best pass from Ramsey, but Newcastle have won it back here.
00:13:53Willock.
00:13:55Ramsey to his right.
00:13:57Here he is.
00:13:58Barnes with a flick.
00:14:00It's Nick Voltemada.
00:14:01It's Johan Wisser.
00:14:02What a save from Georgi Petrovic.
00:14:05He's had his critics, Petrovic, but not now.
00:14:08It's good play from Newcastle.
00:14:09He finds its way to Nick Voltemada.
00:14:11I thought he was going to shoot first time.
00:14:13Lays it to his striker.
00:14:14Wonderful save.
00:14:18In all competitions, Bournemouth have managed only one away win this season.
00:14:23That was at Tottenham in August.
00:14:26Now it's Harvey Barnes.
00:14:28He scores for Newcastle, who at last had the lead here.
00:14:32Five minutes gone in the second half.
00:14:35What a pass.
00:14:36Voltemada outside of his boot.
00:14:38Round of defence.
00:14:39Slots it home.
00:14:40Harvey Barnes, man of the hour.
00:14:42Brilliant.
00:14:421-0.
00:14:43Early goal in the second half will do wonders for Newcastle and the Magpies faithful.
00:14:53But they've given it to Evan Nilsson.
00:14:55And Ramsdale prevents an almost instant equaliser.
00:14:59It's their own mistake.
00:15:00Newcastle gives it away.
00:15:02Livramento got it all wrong.
00:15:04So did Evan Nilsson.
00:15:07Needs to score for me.
00:15:13Tenali.
00:15:15Second goal might be the best bet for the Magpies.
00:15:19Almost got one there.
00:15:22A real mix-up at the back for Bournemouth.
00:15:29Wall's delivery.
00:15:30It's deep.
00:15:31Oh, fantastic header from Botman.
00:15:34Off the frame of the goal.
00:15:36Inch below that would have been another goal.
00:15:43Charles flying header.
00:15:47Evan Nilsson under it for Bournemouth.
00:15:51Brooks.
00:15:53It's Evan Nilsson.
00:15:55And it's tapped in by Alex Scott.
00:15:59Bournemouth level.
00:16:00They have responded brilliantly since falling behind.
00:16:04And Alex Scott gets a well-deserved equaliser for the Cherries.
00:16:09The response from Evan Nilsson as well, by the way, since his missed chance.
00:16:13It's creating everything for Bournemouth.
00:16:15Hits it towards the back post.
00:16:17Alex Scott arriving perfectly.
00:16:22Solaire for Bournemouth.
00:16:25The pass that was to Brooks.
00:16:28And suddenly Bournemouth are in here.
00:16:30Look how short Newcastle are at the back.
00:16:32And that was a vital intersection by Botman.
00:16:36Brooks.
00:16:36Oh, fantastic goal.
00:16:38Bournemouth have turned it around.
00:16:42David Brooks, the goal scorer.
00:16:44And what a goal.
00:16:46From one end to the other.
00:16:47As you said, it was a great pass to David Brooks who drove through.
00:16:51I thought he'd overdone it.
00:16:52I thought he picked the wrong option, which he did initially.
00:16:55But as soon as he gets it on his right foot, there's a player open on the right-hand side.
00:16:59One thought in his mind.
00:17:01What a turnaround.
00:17:02Will they get one last chance, Newcastle?
00:17:10Gordon.
00:17:11Oh, it might fall for Tonali.
00:17:18He's in.
00:17:19He goes down.
00:17:20And what's the referee going to say?
00:17:22He points to the spot.
00:17:25And Newcastle have a chance to save themselves.
00:17:27He's in key tape with a slip.
00:17:30Losing his foot.
00:17:31It's a clear penalty.
00:17:33It's his trailing right leg.
00:17:35Connects with Tonali.
00:17:36All the pressure is on Anthony Gordon.
00:17:44He scores!
00:17:45And Newcastle United have once again given us a dramatic late finish.
00:17:52And this third round tie is looking like heading into extra time.
00:18:00This pass intercepted.
00:18:03Rather telegraphed that one.
00:18:04Alex Scott, that's a very good pass.
00:18:09It's Jimenez in for Bournemouth.
00:18:11Great save by Ramsdale.
00:18:13Potentially a match-winning save.
00:18:16It just never looked comfortable, Jimenez, when he ran through.
00:18:25Galinton.
00:18:28Bournemouth are out of gas, I think.
00:18:31It's Anthony Gordon's cross.
00:18:33It's Barnes.
00:18:33Zizena and Newcastle United have won it right at the death.
00:18:38Harvey Barnes has done it again.
00:18:41It's a lovely delivery, Anthony Gordon.
00:18:44Harvey Barnes rises the highest.
00:18:47Petrovic stood no chance.
00:18:48Alex Jimenez.
00:18:49Alex Jimenez.
00:18:55Marcus Tavernier.
00:18:57Here's a chance.
00:18:58Oh, they've levelled it!
00:19:00Marcus Tavernier draws Bournemouth level just when they look like they were cooked.
00:19:06It's unbelievable.
00:19:07It's just confusion.
00:19:08Sven Botman, Sven Botman, Aaron Ramsdale, Malik Chell.
00:19:11One of you has to clear that.
00:19:13They're delighted on the sidelines.
00:19:15Wow.
00:19:19Here's Tonali.
00:19:22Barnes, good ball!
00:19:24Oh, Gordon missed it!
00:19:25This is quite incredible.
00:19:28Adam Smith prevents a late, late winner from Newcastle United.
00:19:33And we are going to go into a penalty shootout.
00:19:38Nick Voltemada is the next man up for the Magpies.
00:19:44Oh, it's against the crossbar!
00:19:47And it's advantage Bournemouth.
00:19:49Plenty of power.
00:19:51Not quite the right amount of accuracy.
00:19:53Evan Nielsen for Bournemouth to give them the lead in the shootout after two kicks.
00:20:05Saved by Ramsdale, who guessed correctly.
00:20:10And this game keeps us guessing.
00:20:14Bruno Gimaraes, the latest to place the ball for Newcastle.
00:20:20Saved by Petrovic this time.
00:20:23The goalkeeper stood his ground.
00:20:26And Gimaraes rather embarrassed by that effort.
00:20:31Can Aaron Ramsdale come to the rescue again?
00:20:35It's Cook.
00:20:36Oh, he almost got there, the goalkeeper.
00:20:41A cheeky one from Lewis Cook.
00:20:48Tonali, another short run up.
00:20:50And he finds the corner.
00:20:51And a level at 2-2.
00:20:53But Bournemouth still with the advantage.
00:20:56Alex Jimenez.
00:20:59He looks calm.
00:21:00He looks composed.
00:21:02But it's saved by Ramsdale.
00:21:05Bournemouth spurning another chance to take it away from their hosts.
00:21:09Into sudden death.
00:21:13Malik Chow now.
00:21:16How will he get on?
00:21:17Short run up.
00:21:19Simple finish.
00:21:20Got the job done.
00:21:21So, it's all good.
00:21:22Befody Diakite.
00:21:24Befody Diakite.
00:21:27Summer signing from Lille.
00:21:30It's saved by Ramsdale.
00:21:32And Newcastle have won it.
00:21:35Ramsdale, the undisputed hero in the shootout.
00:21:38And absorbing and exhilarating FA Cup third round tie.
00:21:45It was a classic FA Cup tie.
00:21:47I think extra time, probably the last thing both managers wanted.
00:21:50Especially with our game on Tuesday for us.
00:21:52But the priority was to try and get through.
00:21:55And thankfully we've done it.
00:21:56The extra time was about who had more energy.
00:21:59Who could use better, probably, the subs.
00:22:03And no complaints.
00:22:06I'm very proud of how we played, about my players.
00:22:09But it's true that I wanted to win the next round.
00:22:12Anyhow, absolutely bang on, Dionne.
00:22:14Classic Cup tie.
00:22:16And if you're looking for top players, look no further than Harvey Barnes.
00:22:19Yeah, again, just a very positive performance.
00:22:22And I think he's getting better with age.
00:22:26I think he's knowing the game.
00:22:27He's knowing his position even better.
00:22:29They're knowing how to use him as well.
00:22:32What I like about Harvey Barnes is he always finds the right position at the right time.
00:22:37Gets himself there.
00:22:38Nice little flick.
00:22:39They create a chance out of this.
00:22:41They don't score.
00:22:42But he finds a different position because he wasn't getting involved.
00:22:45And when he's wide, he always tries to go direct at his defender.
00:22:50So he can create something behind.
00:22:52This on here is a little layoff and he's gone again.
00:22:55Always trying to get in behind.
00:22:57And what a ball.
00:22:58What a ball from Baltimore that is, by the way.
00:23:01And a really good accomplished finish.
00:23:03Yeah, he's sometimes been accused in the past of sort of drifting away from the game.
00:23:07But there was none of that today.
00:23:09And then after about 70 minutes, his mate came on, Anthony Gordon, on the other wing.
00:23:13And they just were unplayable at times with the pace, the directness, the speed between them and their willingness to go.
00:23:20And what I was really impressed with is how he found these positions like this.
00:23:24He turns into prime Shearer all of a sudden.
00:23:26You're looking and saying, get beyond the end man.
00:23:29What a comparison.
00:23:30He's delighted with that.
00:23:31And it's a fantastic ball across to win it.
00:23:34And Anthony Gordon fluffs his lines.
00:23:36And it's just something that he was unstoppable today in how he played.
00:23:40But, you know, he's got 11 in all comps now.
00:23:43Harvey Barnes, he needs to do more of that.
00:23:44And he needs to do that more often.
00:23:46Consistent.
00:23:47Consistently for season after season for Newcastle.
00:23:48Yeah, great numbers.
00:23:49Absolutely right, Dion.
00:23:50Rob, we'll talk about Bournemouth in just a moment.
00:23:52I just want to look at Newcastle's fixtures because they've got a tough run of games, haven't they?
00:23:56They've got a tough run of games.
00:23:57But if you look at it, this is the crunch point of the season for them.
00:24:00And this is what they wanted.
00:24:01They wanted to be defending their cup and the EFL Cup.
00:24:04They've got the semifinals.
00:24:05They wanted to be in the sharp end of the Champions League.
00:24:08They're in that.
00:24:09You're looking at potentially having other playoff games in there in the Champions League as well after that.
00:24:15It's a great time.
00:24:16You've just got to be in there and keep on trucking because they need the energy.
00:24:20They need to keep on driving through.
00:24:22Yeah, absolutely.
00:24:22We watched this game live, of course, and at one point I didn't think it was going to end when we were on air this afternoon.
00:24:29That's how it felt because everything was happening and so many things, goals and penalties, the whole thing.
00:24:34Great spectacle.
00:24:35But, Dion, Bournemouth deserves some credit for the way they hung in there.
00:24:38Yeah, they did.
00:24:39You know, no Semenyo now.
00:24:40So it's going to be difficult for them.
00:24:42But they actually went into the ring and made it a fight.
00:24:46Yep, quite right.
00:24:47Thank you very much.
00:24:47Right, Liam Rossini took charge of Chelsea for the first time tonight against Charlton Athletic of the Championship.
00:24:53At the Valley for us, Mark Scott.
00:24:54The higher the pressure, the higher the privilege was Liam Rossini's take on stepping into one of the hottest hot seats in football.
00:25:06And he'll certainly get an early blast of heat if Chelsea slip up here.
00:25:12Amongst Charlton's four changes is a second appearance of the season for keeper Will Mannion.
00:25:17Rossini's first Chelsea selection shows eight alterations from the loss at Fulham.
00:25:23With Tosin, Caicedo and Santos the only ones to keep their places.
00:25:30Chelsea have gone through from 61 of their last 63 FA Cup ties against teams from a lower division, including their last 22 in a row.
00:25:40Caicedo, Caicedo, popped off to Achiemfong.
00:25:46He's going to have a hit!
00:25:47And he's beaten away well by Mannion.
00:25:50Josh Achiemfong, who has only scored once before in his entire career with a stinger here that needed a firm pair of hands from Will Mannion.
00:25:59Jamie Gittins, good carry, and not a bad strike either.
00:26:11Mannion down smartly here to keep him away.
00:26:14Good direct stuff from Jamie Gittins, though close enough to the keeper that it's always what he should make.
00:26:20That's going to break for Jural Hato!
00:26:28The first goal of the Resenia Reign is a humdinger from Jural Hato.
00:26:40On the stroke of half-time, Charlton un-down by a glorious hit from Hato.
00:26:50The first goal of the Liam Resenia Reign is a first goal from the 19-year-old for Chelsea as well.
00:27:00Charlton nil, Chelsea one.
00:27:03That is a glorious strike from the teenager.
00:27:06Yeah.
00:27:10Giyu bringing Achiemfong into it.
00:27:18Gittins.
00:27:22Jamie Gittins!
00:27:23Oh, Giyu with a tap in, but he couldn't get there.
00:27:26And now Chelsea won a penalty.
00:27:28Chris Cavanaugh making it very clear that he felt the ball was won.
00:27:33This is what they were unhappy about.
00:27:35And he does get cleaned out, doesn't he?
00:27:40It's like it nicely upfield by Tosin and beautifully controlled by Gittins.
00:27:46Campbell has taken him out.
00:27:52It's a real swipe from Campbell that gives Chelsea the free kick.
00:27:56So, we put an Ote, a great ball, and headed home by Tosin, and Chelsea have daylight now.
00:28:07Liam Resenia, well on track to get off to a winning start with Chelsea, and Tosin had a free header, and any kind of touch from there was always likely to send it in.
00:28:21They're outside heading through to round four of the FA Cup, but there's been quite a few charts directed towards the ownership, and it's not been complimentary.
00:28:33Tyrese Campbell
00:28:38Arced into Lieburn
00:28:42Bree with the air kick
00:28:44And then behind for a corner
00:28:45Closest that Charlton have come
00:28:48Morgensen to save on his line
00:28:54And then makes the save
00:28:56For the rebounds buried
00:28:57And Myles Lieburn
00:29:00Breeds life into this cup tie
00:29:03The man who joined Charlton
00:29:05At youth level
00:29:07After a spell at Chelsea
00:29:09Scores against the Blues
00:29:12To give the addicts hope
00:29:14You could argue
00:29:17That there was a player in an offside position
00:29:20In front of Philipp Jorgensen
00:29:21But no VAR
00:29:22No problem for Charlton
00:29:24And that show
00:29:26Three in blue up there
00:29:33For him to aim for
00:29:34And the first time
00:29:37Sweep is blocked
00:29:38The rebound tucked away
00:29:40By Mark Gew
00:29:41And Chelsea have their cushion back
00:29:44His first ever
00:29:46Domestic goal for Chelsea
00:29:48All of his previous goals for Chelsea
00:29:51Have come in Europe
00:29:53This one might well be sending them through
00:29:56In the oldest domestic cup competition
00:29:58Here goes Enzo Fernandes
00:30:04Looking to add some gloss to the scoreline
00:30:06Laid off for Pedro Neto
00:30:08Who will hit it now
00:30:09And score Chelsea's fourth
00:30:11And he had pinpoint accuracy
00:30:14That meant that
00:30:15Wilmanian could only stand and watch
00:30:17As Chelsea
00:30:19Hit their fourth at the valley
00:30:21It is a happy valley
00:30:24For Liam Rossini
00:30:26In his first game
00:30:28As the Chelsea boss
00:30:30Charlton one
00:30:31Chelsea four
00:30:33Chelsea running right now
00:30:37Looking for number five
00:30:38Esteval
00:30:39Manion to the rescue
00:30:41No
00:30:42It's a penalty
00:30:43And Chelsea
00:30:45Have the chance to hit five
00:30:48A right smile from Esteval
00:30:50I know that it's foggy
00:30:53But even I can see that this is a foul
00:30:56Enzo Fernandes
00:31:00A five star Chelsea showing
00:31:03In game one
00:31:05For Liam Rossini
00:31:06And it is the last kick of the game
00:31:09Well he said that he was going to
00:31:12Ignore the noise around his appointment
00:31:14As manager of the Blues
00:31:16And his players have gone quietly
00:31:19About their business tonight
00:31:21Charlton Athletic one
00:31:23Chelsea five
00:31:24Can't get carried away off one game
00:31:28Let's see
00:31:30I have an idea of what I think this team could be
00:31:34But it takes time
00:31:36We need to be consistent
00:31:37We need to keep our feet on the floor
00:31:39And be really really humble
00:31:40We knew we were coming up against a world class team
00:31:43And we had a good structure
00:31:46We were in the game for long periods of time
00:31:48But there was just certain things we gave
00:31:50The goals for us were really poor
00:31:52And that was just too easy for them to go away from us
00:31:54Football we talk a lot about tactics
00:31:56What I was happy was with the attitude and mentality
00:31:58Of the group today
00:31:59And that's something that we really need to build on
00:32:01Yeah we'll talk about his role
00:32:03At the football club in just a moment
00:32:04But Dion what a start
00:32:06Chelsea Mae what a goal
00:32:07Yeah I mean
00:32:08Jarell Harto he'll never strike a ball
00:32:12Like it ever again
00:32:14The young Dutch lad
00:32:1519 years old
00:32:16Scores the first goal in Liam's reign
00:32:20And look at that
00:32:21I mean
00:32:21That's perfectly struck
00:32:24On the laces
00:32:25It's an incredible strike
00:32:27There wasn't a lot happened in that first half
00:32:30There was a lot of control from Chelsea
00:32:31That was something different
00:32:34Absolutely
00:32:35Clean
00:32:36Scored a few of those didn't you?
00:32:38No
00:32:38Not with your left
00:32:40Not with your left
00:32:40It traded
00:32:41I just traded everything
00:32:42Rob let's talk about the job that Liam Rossini has got on his hands
00:32:47When you look at the squad
00:32:48What do you think he's got?
00:32:49Well some things haven't changed since a week ago
00:32:52And you're looking at a guy who's tactically astute
00:32:55He's a clever guy
00:32:56And he's got to find a way in games to respond
00:32:58For when the opposition changed the game
00:33:01And I think today
00:33:02They were sort of always in control
00:33:04They always had control of the ball
00:33:05So it wasn't really asked that question
00:33:07I think he's got to develop those second-ranked players
00:33:11The players who aren't really in the first eleven
00:33:13Get them up to speed is the biggest thing
00:33:15And biggest thing of all
00:33:16Find a connection between the club
00:33:19And the fans
00:33:20And the players again
00:33:22I think that's the bit
00:33:23We heard it in the game
00:33:24And I think that's where the discourse is right now
00:33:27Dion what do you say?
00:33:28No I think
00:33:29I think there's
00:33:30The depth
00:33:31Is where they're struggling
00:33:33If they want to go and challenge in the top four
00:33:35Start winning things
00:33:36As we were watching that
00:33:38Goal as well
00:33:39I've chatted to Rob about it all day
00:33:41That if they could have
00:33:4219, 20, 21
00:33:44Top top class players
00:33:45They will be challenging
00:33:47At the moment
00:33:48They haven't got that many
00:33:49And he needs to coach some players better
00:33:51And find some sort of consistency as well Rob
00:33:54Yeah absolutely
00:33:55It's such a quick turnaround for him
00:33:57There's such a far time
00:33:58His coaching is key
00:34:00The time on the training ground is so short for him
00:34:02Yep absolutely
00:34:03Right
00:34:04Disappointed week in the Premier League
00:34:05I see Manchester City
00:34:06For six points behind Arsenal
00:34:08In the title race
00:34:09But their new £64 million signing
00:34:11Antoine Semenya made his debut today
00:34:13With City starting their cup journey
00:34:15At home to Exeter City of League One
00:34:17Conor McNamara was watching
00:34:18With the colleagues on the top four
00:34:20Weirup
00:34:28Decided to have a crack
00:34:30It came off the back of Max alone
00:34:31It's the first corner of the game
00:34:34And it's for League One Exeter City
00:34:36Pep Guardiola looking on for the stands today
00:34:40He picked up a yellow card against Brighton in midweek
00:34:43Triggering a touchline ban
00:34:46Great reaction from James Trafford
00:34:49Liam Oaks
00:34:52Up for the corner
00:34:53Managing to get his head on that
00:34:56And from point blank range
00:34:57And given that he was impeded
00:34:59You've got to admire the reactions of James Trafford there
00:35:02And from Rodri
00:35:06Is accurately to Reinders
00:35:07And here is Erling Haaland involved for the first time today
00:35:11And it ricochets out for the corner
00:35:13Nice little glancing touch here by Tijani Reinders
00:35:18Erling Haaland usually only needs a glimpse
00:35:22Haaland has got nine goals from nine FA Cup starts in his career so far
00:35:28Looking to Haaland
00:35:34Erling Haaland's touch
00:35:36And they couldn't
00:35:37Oh can they want to touch up to the post
00:35:39It's gone over the line
00:35:40Manchester City celebrates
00:35:42They have taken the lead
00:35:44And it's the first ever goal for City
00:35:47From Max Erling
00:35:50He made his debut for the club on Wednesday against Brighton
00:35:54Having been recalled from a long spell
00:35:57Max Erling
00:35:59Scores
00:36:01In the FA Cup
00:36:03Manchester City have not lost a home game in the FA Cup in over a decade
00:36:09And can level the all-time record for a lead club in the competition
00:36:14If they make it 16 whole wins in a row today
00:36:17This is Semenho
00:36:20Rodri
00:36:21What a shot that is from Rodri
00:36:23He's fully 10 yards outside the penalty area there
00:36:27It is a first goal of the season for the Spaniard
00:36:32And it's struck as true as that
00:36:35No goalkeeper in the world is going to get much closer
00:36:38Just past the 40th minute of the game
00:36:44It's 35 minutes since Liam Oaks had that opportunity for Exeter
00:36:48It's been all City since there
00:36:49This is Semenho
00:36:50Wins the corner kick for his team
00:36:57Played in by Rea Cherki
00:36:59Oh it's been ricocheted in
00:37:02It came off two buddies just in front of the goal line
00:37:06As it comes towards Nathan Aki
00:37:08Alongside him is Jake Doyle Hayes
00:37:11Aki doesn't really respond
00:37:12When the ball hits the net as much as you'd expect for a goal scorer
00:37:15I think the last touch is off Doyle Hayes there
00:37:18Richardson
00:37:21City with it back on the edge of the penalty area
00:37:24Mikado
00:37:24To Johnny Riders has a look to see who's worth it
00:37:27And it's in again
00:37:27It's four
00:37:28Four ahead of half time for Manchester City
00:37:31This one does look to be an own goal
00:37:35Given away on the edge of the penalty area by Briarley
00:37:39After Reinders pulls the ball back
00:37:43It's in off Jack Fitzwater
00:37:46Stephen Fooey
00:37:49Winders to Semenho
00:37:53Riko Luiz made a good run
00:37:56And that's a great finish
00:37:57Manchester City making it five
00:38:00Just three minutes into the second period
00:38:02Reinders to Semenho
00:38:05What about this for a deliberate
00:38:06Perfect
00:38:07Riko Luiz who has given a new two year contract extension in September
00:38:11He makes it Manchester City five
00:38:15Exeter City now
00:38:16Chirky
00:38:19Stops away from the attentions of Jake Doyle Hayes
00:38:23And Chirky picks out Antoine Semenho
00:38:25Could this be a debut goal
00:38:27On his first appearance for Manchester City
00:38:33Antoine Semenho delivers
00:38:35The first of what City fans hope will be many
00:38:41Up and running for his Manchester City career
00:38:45After the big money move from Bournemouth
00:38:47But he is taking it all with grace and with ease
00:38:51Chirky
00:38:53Reinders with an important touch
00:38:55Gets it back again from Mucasa
00:38:56Now Bonanno Silva
00:38:59Now Jeremy Ducco
00:39:01Reinders
00:39:04Brilliant
00:39:06Patience pays
00:39:08As Manchester City make it seven
00:39:10They bided their time
00:39:13They waited for the moment
00:39:14And then perfectly executed
00:39:16From Tijani Reinders
00:39:18Manchester City seven
00:39:21Exeter City nil
00:39:22They came with hope and expectation
00:39:25They also would have been lingering
00:39:27Some fear and doubt
00:39:29And
00:39:29Those fears have been realised today
00:39:32With this emphatic Manchester City performance
00:39:34Kaidou
00:39:36Making a little burst
00:39:38City looking for goal number eight
00:39:40And they get a quarter kick
00:39:42Taking short against it
00:39:47He don't have a lot today
00:39:48Here's Rico Lewis
00:39:49Nico O'Reilly
00:39:52It is eight
00:39:55And how accurate is that
00:39:58From Nico O'Reilly
00:40:00Manchester City matched their achievements
00:40:03Of the FA Cup third round a year ago
00:40:06When they put eight passes off at City
00:40:08Third goal of the campaign
00:40:10In all competitions

00:40:24Gets goal number nine
00:40:27Ryan McAidou
00:40:31Matching Andron Semenyo's achievement
00:40:33Of scoring on his
00:40:35Manchester City debut
00:40:37Big moment for the 17-year-old
00:40:40Mukasa involved in the build-up too
00:40:43The young guns taking charge
00:40:45Manchester City need one more
00:40:48To hit double figures now
00:40:50Winders
00:40:53Trying to pick out Cherokee
00:40:54Intercepted by Jake Dorelase
00:40:56This is young George Birch
00:40:58Better late than never
00:41:02What about that for George Birch
00:41:05It's his first
00:41:07Ever senior goal
00:41:09That is a moment
00:41:11That 19-year-old George Birch
00:41:14Will never forget
00:41:15And the Excellent City fans
00:41:17Can talk about that
00:41:19All the way back home on the bus
00:41:21Jeremy Doku
00:41:25To Jeremy Rinders
00:41:28What a backheel
00:41:29Can Doku finish
00:41:30Just going to detangle
00:41:32In his legs
00:41:33Following up anyway
00:41:34Is Rico Lewis
00:41:35And Manchester City
00:41:37Do hit double figures
00:41:39The second goal of the game
00:41:42For Rico Lewis
00:41:43Manchester City
00:41:45Striding into the fourth round
00:41:47After thoroughly dismantling
00:41:51Exeter City here today
00:41:5310-1
00:41:5510-1
00:41:56I repeat
00:41:5710 for Manchester City
00:41:58And Antoine Samedio Dion
00:42:00Is in great company
00:42:01As well
00:42:01First player to score
00:42:03And assist a goal
00:42:04On his Manchester City debut
00:42:05In all competitions
00:42:05Since Sergio Aguero
00:42:07Against Swansea City
00:42:08In August 2011
00:42:09Not bad
00:42:10Not bad
00:42:11It wasn't bad
00:42:12It looked like he'd been
00:42:14Playing with City
00:42:15All his life
00:42:16He just fitted in
00:42:17Stuck him on the left
00:42:18And you know
00:42:20Just little bits that he did
00:42:22He's a very very intelligent footballer
00:42:24Sticking ball in areas like that
00:42:27Where Haaland will be
00:42:28Because Haaland's got to get to
00:42:30Little step there by the way
00:42:32Little step which gives him
00:42:33You like that little step don't you?
00:42:34Yeah only because it gives him
00:42:35An extra yard to receive the ball
00:42:36And play his team mate in
00:42:39Nothing happened on that occasion
00:42:41But again he comes in this time
00:42:43Because he's not being involved
00:42:44Sets himself up
00:42:45Gets a shot off
00:42:46And he falls to Rodri
00:42:48And Rodri does the rest
00:42:50But he does more than that Rob
00:42:52Yeah and he can do anything
00:42:53And he's so unpredictable
00:42:54Which is the hard thing
00:42:55When you've got someone like him
00:42:57You've just seen him come inside
00:42:59And then you just see now
00:43:00You see him stand one player up
00:43:02Go outside him
00:43:02Go outside the next player
00:43:04And sometimes I just felt
00:43:05That the balls in
00:43:06Were a little bit too quick
00:43:07For his team mate
00:43:08He's looking and he's giving
00:43:09And going here
00:43:10Whereas before he was dribbling
00:43:11And then that's
00:43:13Finally someone's reading
00:43:14That cross
00:43:14It's a wonderful cross
00:43:16He doesn't hesitate
00:43:17Which at the top level
00:43:19Rather than standing
00:43:20And wondering
00:43:21And waiting
00:43:21Whether he should cross it
00:43:22He just does it
00:43:23Look at that for gas
00:43:24And then there
00:43:24Wow
00:43:25To go beyond
00:43:26There's a fraction
00:43:27Where Exeter fell asleep there
00:43:29And he was gone
00:43:30Where do you chaps think
00:43:31That Semenu fits in
00:43:32In all competitions
00:43:33For Manchester City
00:43:34In that team
00:43:35As in
00:43:36How often does he play
00:43:38He plays
00:43:38How often does he play
00:43:38He plays
00:43:39He plays
00:43:40That's what they've got him for
00:43:41For that reason
00:43:42What we've just shown there
00:43:43The positivity
00:43:44The end product
00:43:45Making a difference
00:43:46He plays
00:43:46Same for you Rob
00:43:47Yeah I think
00:43:48You're looking at someone
00:43:49Who can do all that facets
00:43:50From an attacking point
00:43:52And it's a matter of time
00:43:54Before his teammates
00:43:54Just go
00:43:55Wow
00:43:55I've just got to make those runs
00:43:56Just get in there
00:43:57I feel so for the right backs
00:43:58I was going to say
00:43:59It's a nightmare
00:44:00Well it is a nightmare
00:44:01To defend against
00:44:02Isn't it Rob
00:44:02It's so hard
00:44:03You're tucked in
00:44:05You're tucked narrow
00:44:06And at times today
00:44:07You're saying
00:44:07Okay you're out there
00:44:08On your own
00:44:08Semenu was out on his own
00:44:10And they just left him
00:44:11And they were in trouble
00:44:13Yep
00:44:13Frightening
00:44:14Still to come

00:44:31I actually do suffer from stitches

00:45:07BBC Two
00:45:07One o'clock
00:45:08We shall be watching
00:45:10Aston Villa
00:45:11Flying high
00:45:11In the Premier League
00:45:12It's another frustrating season
00:45:14For Spurs
00:45:14Could a cup run
00:45:15Spark their season
00:45:16Into life
00:45:17Commentary
00:45:17From Ali Chira
00:45:18And Steve Wilson
00:45:19Tottenham Hotspur
00:45:23And Aston Villa
00:45:24Neither has lifted
00:45:25This trophy really
00:45:26For far too long
00:45:27Ninety-one
00:45:28Tottenham's last FA Cup win
00:45:30Nineteen fifty-seven
00:45:32Villas
00:45:33Begin to Marlon
00:45:35Marlon can play it
00:45:37Into Buendier
00:45:37Big chance
00:45:38Great goal
00:45:39Emiliano Buendier
00:45:42It's a fabulous finish there
00:45:44Hammered into the roof
00:45:46Of the Tottenham Hotspur net
00:45:48Thomas Frank's side
00:45:49Are behind again
00:45:51What a brilliant goal
00:45:53That is
00:45:53So clever
00:45:54The way they work it
00:45:55Can't give them
00:45:56That much time
00:45:57In midfield
00:45:58To take the time
00:45:59Take a touch
00:45:59And pass
00:46:00Absolutely sensational
00:46:021v1v
00:46:03The keeper
00:46:03Hits it high
00:46:05Pass for Corio
00:46:06No chance
00:46:07Great finish
00:46:07Rodgers
00:46:13Little round
00:46:14The cushioned header
00:46:15Just tell
00:46:19Has given it
00:46:20Straight to Bogard
00:46:21That might be a problem
00:46:21For Tottenham
00:46:22Buendier works it
00:46:24To Doniel Marlon
00:46:25Buendier again
00:46:27And Rodgers
00:46:28And 2-0
00:46:29And things
00:46:34Go from bad
00:46:35To worse
00:46:36For Tottenham Hotspur
00:46:37And for Thomas Frank
00:46:39Just watch the belief
00:46:41And the confidence
00:46:42That's running through
00:46:43This
00:46:43Aston Villa team
00:46:45The way they move it
00:46:46The way the runners
00:46:46Passes off
00:46:47Each other
00:46:48That little touch
00:46:50There from
00:46:50Buendier
00:46:51Into his path
00:46:52There's still a lot
00:46:53To do
00:46:53But the way
00:46:54He guides it
00:46:55Into the corner
00:46:56Rodgers
00:46:56Keep a note chance
00:46:57They simply
00:47:01Have to score
00:47:02The next goal
00:47:02In the game
00:47:03That's a good ball
00:47:04From Matisse
00:47:05Tell
00:47:05Michel Pellinia
00:47:06Pedro Coro
00:47:08Matisse
00:47:09Closed him down
00:47:10And made the block
00:47:10Rodgers
00:47:12And Simons
00:47:14Well it's a decent save
00:47:17By Pizzo
00:47:18It's something
00:47:20Even the reaction
00:47:22Over the crowd
00:47:23Steve
00:47:23Tells you something
00:47:32Colomuali
00:47:32Won it fairly
00:47:33From
00:47:34Lamar Boga
00:47:35Four in this
00:47:35Tottenham attack
00:47:36On a bad
00:47:372-1
00:47:38Exactly what
00:47:41Tottenham needed
00:47:42Yeah well done
00:47:44You can feel it
00:47:45Straight away
00:47:46Couldn't you
00:47:46There's no way
00:47:47That's a foul
00:47:47He did really well
00:47:48In closing down
00:47:50Moana
00:47:50Then the pass
00:47:51Can you find it
00:47:52And then you're
00:47:53Looking for the finish
00:47:54Because that's a good touch
00:47:55Great finish
00:47:56They're back in it
00:47:59Amazing what a goal
00:48:00Can do isn't it
00:48:01Yeah
00:48:01Already you can feel
00:48:04A little bit of a difference
00:48:05In that spot
00:48:06These Spurs fans are craving
00:48:07Here come Tottenham again
00:48:10It's Jackie Simons
00:48:12Tottenham Hotspur's best 60 seconds
00:48:20For quite a long time
00:48:21They might reluctantly take losing Tottenham fans
00:48:25But they won't take losing limply
00:48:26And Tottenham have at least given them that in this second half
00:48:31That's nicely worked
00:48:32It's cash
00:48:33And that's a lovely ball
00:48:35Buendia
00:48:35Brilliantly off the line
00:48:36That could be absolutely crucial
00:48:39Pedro Porro off the line
00:48:40And Pedro Porro to lash it away from danger again
00:48:44Just about to see how important could that stop on the line be
00:48:49And there's a break on here
00:48:54Lamar Bogart has Morgan Rodgers
00:48:56Watkins is getting forward as well
00:48:59Rodgers through Danso
00:49:01And put behind by Van de Vent
00:49:03But Aston Villa
00:49:07Have put their place
00:49:11In the fourth round of the FA Cup
00:49:13We've got a very tough spell of games
00:49:17We need to regroup
00:49:18Continue
00:49:20And put for example
00:49:22Two very good halves together
00:49:23With massive intensity
00:49:24And then
00:49:25We need to beat with them
00:49:27I know you've said before
00:49:28You feel like you're very aligned with the board
00:49:30And everyone here knows what you're trying to achieve
00:49:32How close are you to achieving it?
00:49:34And do you still feel like you have that support?
00:49:36Yeah
00:49:36I completely feel that support
00:49:38No doubt about that
00:49:39We need to put more
00:49:41And better performance together
00:49:43And keep putting forward
00:49:44He's a man under pressure
00:49:46We'll talk about Thomas Frank in just a moment
00:49:48But first of all
00:49:49Let's talk about Super John McGinn
00:49:50Yes
00:49:51Him and Emile Buendia
00:49:52Dictated play today in the first half
00:49:55They were brilliant
00:49:56And it's all about understanding your role
00:49:58And tucking inside
00:49:58When he needed to tuck inside
00:50:00And Pauline and Gray
00:50:01Were the two central midfielders for Tottenham
00:50:03Just couldn't live
00:50:04With him and his timing of his movement
00:50:07And then his link-up play to the front two
00:50:09And from there
00:50:10Villa just completely stole the show
00:50:13Here again
00:50:14Drifting in between the midfield two
00:50:16Led to Buendia's goal
00:50:17Who was also doing the same from the other side
00:50:20You come into central positions
00:50:22And just rotated the play at times
00:50:24Dion
00:50:25And it was so difficult for Spurs
00:50:26Just to pick him up at any moment of the game
00:50:29He seems to do all the ugly stuff very, very well
00:50:32That nobody else in the team wants to do
00:50:34But he's also affecting where his teammates are
00:50:38I mean this one here
00:50:38Just bouncing the ball
00:50:40Keeping it nice and simple
00:50:41Not complicating it
00:50:43He's a leader
00:50:44He makes sure that all his team are accountable for their actions
00:50:48He's pointing, he's shouting
00:50:50See how he stops there
00:50:51Gets himself into a really good position
00:50:53Sets his team off again
00:50:55Tries to squeeze one in the corner
00:50:57Not happening
00:50:58But with that armband
00:51:00He is their leader
00:51:02And it works for him
00:51:03They like him
00:51:03Delighted Dion at the moment
00:51:04Everyone seems to know their role
00:51:06They're so well coached
00:51:07Yeah they are
00:51:08They are
00:51:08But like Rob's just pointed out there
00:51:10That's the area that John works in
00:51:13Yeah
00:51:13And they know to leave that area for John
00:51:15And it's effective
00:51:16Right let's deal with this then
00:51:18Thomas Frank
00:51:18Man under pressure
00:51:19Yeah
00:51:19Is he going to be there?
00:51:21May?
00:51:21I don't see it
00:51:22I don't see how it is
00:51:24The performances they're putting in
00:51:25You're saying
00:51:26There's a bit of life today
00:51:28A response
00:51:29But it's becoming too often
00:51:31Too much
00:51:32Too few now
00:51:33Dion can you see him
00:51:34Still being there
00:51:34End of season?
00:51:35If the results carry on
00:51:36Like this
00:51:37He won't be
00:51:38It's all about results for managers
00:51:39And they keep losing
00:51:40So it's no good
00:51:40Okay thank you
00:51:41Highlights from another
00:51:42Seven third round ties now
00:51:44Starting at Molineux
00:51:45Perhaps when the draw was made
00:51:49League two Shrewsbury Town
00:51:50Might have fancied their chances in this
00:51:52Wolves are still bottom of the Premier League
00:51:55But unbeaten in three
00:51:56And Jorgen Strand Larsson
00:51:58Flicks them in front early on
00:52:00He'd gone 13 games without a goal before that
00:52:0370 places separate these sides
00:52:05A big gap
00:52:06And Wolves surged into the space
00:52:08Colombian Jean Arias made it two
00:52:11A couple of minutes later
00:52:12Michael Appleton's Shrewsbury
00:52:14Have lost four in a row in the league
00:52:16A relegation scrap looms
00:52:17But they searched for a way back into the time
00:52:20Arias was adjudged to have brought down
00:52:22John Marquis
00:52:23Penalty
00:52:23And Marquis got up to reduce the deficit
00:52:27Less than 26 minutes gone
00:52:29But he grabbed the ball
00:52:30Clearly sensing that Wolves might wobble
00:52:32But the foundations were not secure at the other end
00:52:36Keeper Eli Harrison on loan from Manchester United
00:52:38Didn't spot Strand Larsson
00:52:40And it's a long way back from there
00:52:42Wolves are apparently open to selling the Norwegian forward
00:52:46Some fans have criticised him
00:52:48But in a difficult season
00:52:49This was a therapeutic afternoon
00:52:52Strand Larsson is in
00:52:53Looking for the hat-trick
00:52:55Which he has
00:52:56Strand Larsson with the treble
00:52:58His first in over eight years of professional football
00:53:02The game won
00:53:03Wolves could enjoy themselves
00:53:05Fair Lopez had room
00:53:07Had a go
00:53:07And Wolves still had time to put Rodrigo Gomez in
00:53:11To score the fifth
00:53:12The old gold has lost some of its shine of late
00:53:15But by the end they were bypassing Shrewsbury at will
00:53:18This was their eighth win in nine
00:53:20Against lower league opposition in the cup
00:53:22Rounded off by Tolu Arakadare
00:53:246-1
00:53:25And Wolves fans can look forward to the fourth round
00:53:28The end of the season probably can't come soon enough
00:53:32For Sheffield Wednesday
00:53:33Marooned at the foot of the championship
00:53:34After a points deduction
00:53:35Destined for league one
00:53:37And still awaiting new owners
00:53:39They fell behind when Keane Lewis Potter stole in at the back post
00:53:42The Bees, fifth in the Premier League
00:53:45Made eight changes
00:53:46But it didn't hamper their serene progress to round four
00:53:49Youngster Ramel Donovan was one of those given a start
00:53:52And won a penalty
00:53:53Fouled by Cole McGee
00:53:54Matthias Jensen went route one from the spot
00:53:57It's now five wins out of six for Keith Andrews' team
00:54:00An admirable statistic Wednesday fans can currently only dream of
00:54:04Fulham have found their groove
00:54:07They're unbeaten in six in the league
00:54:08And yet they made seven changes for the meeting with Middlesbrough
00:54:11Second in the championship
00:54:12And it looked like it might cost them
00:54:14Borough worked it well
00:54:15Fulham forgot where Hackney was
00:54:17Hayden Hackney
00:54:181-0
00:54:19They held that lead well into the second half
00:54:22So Fulham sent on Harry Wilson
00:54:23He's having a great week in a great season
00:54:25And three minutes after coming on
00:54:27He scored his third goal in the last three games
00:54:30It tilted the tie
00:54:31Tom Kearney was another of Fulham's super subs
00:54:34He played in Emil Smith Rowe
00:54:36To fire the Premier League side in front
00:54:38In the 77th minute
00:54:40Borough's chance had passed
00:54:42Wilson inevitably was involved in Fulham's third
00:54:45His ball queued up Kevin
00:54:47To score his first for the club
00:54:48Fulham have never won the FA Cup
00:54:50Could this be their year?
00:54:51Millwall battling for promotion in the championship
00:54:56Ventured north with high hopes
00:54:58Against Premier League strugglers Burnley
00:55:00Without a win in 12 matches
00:55:01Veteran striker Ashley Barnes
00:55:03Made a rare appearance
00:55:04And poached the opening goal
00:55:06It was like the old days at Turf Moor
00:55:08These two sides have met just once before
00:55:10In the FA Cup
00:55:11Millwall winning on their way to the 2004 final
00:55:14Loon Chauna beat keeper Stephen Bender
00:55:17At his near post to make it two
00:55:18They were gifted a 3-0 half-time lead
00:55:22After Bender's wayward clearance
00:55:23Jadon Anthony scored with a first-time finish
00:55:27Barnes hadn't scored since March
00:55:31But he used all his penalty box nows
00:55:33To grab his second of the game
00:55:35After Millwall failed to clear their lines
00:55:37Burnley, whose only FA Cup triumph
00:55:40Came in 1914
00:55:41Had a fifth after more poor defending
00:55:43By the championship team
00:55:45Jadon Barnell grabbing his first for the club
00:55:48After coming on as a second-half sub
00:55:50This was welcome respite for the Clarets
00:55:52From their Premier League struggles
00:55:54But head coach Scott Parker
00:55:56Won't have enjoyed the way they lost the ball
00:55:58Close to goal
00:55:59To allow Josh Coburn to run clear
00:56:01And score a late consolation
00:56:03Past Max Weiss
00:56:04A Cup run might just be the tonic Burnley need
00:56:07To revive their campaign
00:56:08It's been a pretty bleak winter for these two sides
00:56:13Neither of them have won a game in a month
00:56:15But someone had to go through
00:56:17And Southampton were determined it would be them
00:56:19Kuryu Matsuki had the shot
00:56:21Which came out to Cameron Bragg
00:56:23Who'd never scored a senior goal until then
00:56:26Saints were proving too strong for League One Doncaster
00:56:29Cameron Archer didn't worry about whether he'd been fouled
00:56:32He had bigger plans
00:56:33With the help of a deflection
00:56:34He made it two
00:56:35His fourth of the season
00:56:37It's half a century since Southampton won the FA Cup
00:56:40A repeat would be asking a lot
00:56:42In terms of an anniversary present
00:56:44But they seemed sure of progressing
00:56:46When Matsuki headed in their third before the break
00:56:48Especially as Doncaster are hopelessly out of form
00:56:52And yet, three minutes into the second half
00:56:54Robbie Gott's corner was nodded in by Matty Pearson
00:56:57And Donny started to believe
00:56:59They began to prey on Saints' frailties
00:57:03Now Owen Bailey works the ball to Jordan Gibson
00:57:06Who placed in his sixth of the season
00:57:083-2
00:57:09Still more than half an hour left
00:57:11A Cup tie had broken out
00:57:13Stoppage time
00:57:14Doncaster corner
00:57:15Could they level it?
00:57:17Oh, the betters didn't get there
00:57:19What a save not once but twice
00:57:21How on earth has that stayed out?
00:57:24A dramatic finish
00:57:25And a promising start
00:57:26That was Daniel Perez's Southampton debut
00:57:29The 2021 FA Cup winners Leicester City
00:57:34Have beaten Cheltenham Town 4-0
00:57:36On the only two previous occasions they've met
00:57:39Striker Patson Daka joined the Foxes
00:57:41After their Wembley triumph
00:57:42And had never scored in the competition himself
00:57:45He put that unwanted record to bed
00:57:47With Leicester City's first effort on target
00:57:49Steffi Mavadidi had set him up for the opener
00:57:52Leicester's second was all Mavadidi's own work
00:57:55Skipping inside from the touchline
00:57:57To complete a thoroughly professional performance
00:57:59And ease some of the pressure
00:58:00On under fire manager Marty Sifuentes
00:58:02Boreham would have become third round regulars
00:58:08The National League side have reached this stage
00:58:10In four of the last six seasons
00:58:11For them, that was where the good news ended
00:58:13Because from the moment
00:58:14Kyron Lofthouse smashed Burton in front
00:58:17They didn't look like the out of form side
00:58:19They have been
00:58:20The League One Brewers were two up before the break
00:58:22This time debutant Kane Adom's header
00:58:24Was diverted in by Boreham Wood's Charlie O'Connell
00:58:28The Wood have only reached the fourth round once before
00:58:31It was clearly out of reach here
00:58:33The free kick dropped by Ted Curd
00:58:35Fabio Tavares scored Burton's third
00:58:38This wasn't going to plan for Boreham Wood
00:58:40They'd been so good at home this season
00:58:42But were powerless to stop Burton
00:58:44Dylan Williams scored his first of the season
00:58:46To make it 4-0
00:58:47Burton had lost their last three without scoring
00:58:51Maybe they'd been saving it up
00:58:52JJ McKeanen floated in the fifth
00:58:55And even they were surprised at how easy this was
00:58:58So, not to be for Boreham Wood
00:59:02But what about Western Super Mayor?
00:59:04The six-tier team have reached the FA Cup third round
00:59:07For the first time in their history
00:59:09The reward?
00:59:10A 247-mile trip to lead to Grimsby Town
00:59:14On the east coast for us, Chris Latcham
00:59:16Supported by Walker
00:59:24Into the feet of Warren
00:59:26Who's done really well to turn
00:59:28Deflected and saved well by Harris
00:59:29Down to his left
00:59:30The ball from Warren was goal-bound
00:59:34And the deflection looked like
00:59:37It was going to carry it into the corner
00:59:38Western have 11 behind the ball
00:59:45And Grimsby
00:59:46Are continuing to probe
00:59:48And here's Vernon
00:59:49Flick on
00:59:49Is importantly tipped over by Harris
00:59:51Almost, almost
00:59:54Catching out the Western goalkeeper
00:59:56Vernon again
01:00:06Sends one in
01:00:07And this time
01:00:08He picks out the top corner
01:00:10Charles Vernon's had a couple of range finders
01:00:15A couple of testers for Max Harris
01:00:18But this time
01:00:19The goalkeeper could get nowhere near it
01:00:21Testing ball for Cameron McJanet
01:00:29And Cummins
01:00:29Felt a contact in the air
01:00:31And wins the free kick
01:00:32Delicious shooting range
01:00:36And Coulson
01:00:38And Coulson has only got one target
01:00:39Took a deflection
01:00:43And looped it to the back of the net
01:00:46Luke Coulson will claim the goal
01:00:51But without that flick on the way in
01:00:55Smith would never have been beaten
01:00:57What a moment for the Western fans
01:01:00Behind the goal
01:01:01Almost like they sucked it into the back of the net
01:01:05Stolton's touch took him away from goal
01:01:10But the cross is excellent
01:01:13Right to the far post
01:01:14And Warren heads over
01:01:15And now the Grimsby Town fans find their voice
01:01:20A couple of key chances in the last five minutes
01:01:23Belief that they've
01:01:24Weathered their own particular storm
01:01:26And now getting back on top of this one
01:01:29And Rhys Stolton's won a corner
01:01:30And G's up the fans too
01:01:32Michael Smith gets the header away
01:01:39But it still might fall
01:01:42KBR has made himself a nuisance
01:01:44And flicked the ball into the back of the net
01:01:46Off the bench
01:01:49And to the rescue for the Mariners
01:01:51Max Harris beaten for a second time
01:01:55And J's KBR
01:01:59Puts the league side 2-1 up
01:02:03Coulson has room to move into
01:02:11But Curry is on his shoulder
01:02:12And drags him to the grounds
01:02:14Coulson wasn't happy
01:02:17He felt he was away here
01:02:19Getting his head up to pick out Robuston
01:02:21And fell before he could get his pass away
01:02:24And as they tried to drag the Mariners
01:02:28Into choppy waters
01:02:29Coulson nicely worked
01:02:32Robuston
01:02:32Britain
01:02:33Has levelled it up for Weston
01:02:37Great Britain they call him
01:02:40That's his 20th goal of the season
01:02:43And he's given them hope
01:02:47Of reaching round 4
01:02:48For the first time
01:02:49Look what it means
01:02:51To the Seagulls
01:02:53Sam Lavelle can push on
01:02:59With the ball
01:02:59It's opened up in front of him
01:03:01The fans wanted him to shoot
01:03:02Instead he's
01:03:06Picked out Green
01:03:07And Green picks out KBR
01:03:09Deflicted wide
01:03:10Desperate defending from the captain
01:03:17Flicked on and flicked in
01:03:22Kieran Green
01:03:25Unchallenged with the header
01:03:27And just gave it the eyes
01:03:29The captain Kieran has come off the bench
01:03:33And nodded Grimsby towards round 4
01:03:36We want to put the club on the map
01:03:40We're trying to do that
01:03:41We understand that we're still in the fourth tier
01:03:43I'm not sure
01:03:44Green Weston's super mayor
01:03:46Have the reach that
01:03:46PT Manchester United does here
01:03:48But at the same time
01:03:50If you're still in the hat
01:03:51You've got a chance to do that
01:03:53And that's important for this football club
01:03:55We're a tough nut to crack
01:03:56Yeah they obviously went in front twice
01:03:59But we come back
01:04:00And I think that just shows the character of the team
01:04:02And I said to the boys in there
01:04:03They've got to get their heads up
01:04:04They're sick as a pig in there
01:04:06No one's speaking
01:04:06But that tells you about them
01:04:08They're really disappointed
01:04:09That they haven't come away with something
01:04:10But I think when they wake up tomorrow morning
01:04:13They'll realise that's one hell of an effort
01:04:14They put in
01:04:15Absolutely fair play to Western's super mayor
01:04:18Dion showed fantastic character
01:04:20But Grimsby Town just showed their EFL class
01:04:22Yeah it was unfortunately fitness
01:04:25And know-how
01:04:26And quality of finishing
01:04:29I mean two little half volleys
01:04:31Half volley there
01:04:32And a little half volley there
01:04:33It's a really clever finish
01:04:35The bounce
01:04:36Falls nicely
01:04:37KB just gets on the end of it
01:04:39And finishes very well
01:04:41And I think Western's super mayor
01:04:42Tried their hardest
01:04:43To stay with the attackers
01:04:45To try and compete in the box
01:04:48But Grimsby's quality
01:04:50Was a little bit too much for them
01:04:51And they couldn't match them
01:04:53With quality
01:04:54And fitness
01:04:55And they unfortunately
01:04:57Came under at the end
01:04:57Yep absolutely
01:04:58Well done to Grimsby Town
01:05:00So Macclesfield
01:05:01The only non-league team
01:05:02Through to the fourth round draw
01:05:03Which takes place on Monday
01:05:05The Wrexham revolution
01:05:07Continues apace
01:05:08After three promotions
01:05:09In three seasons
01:05:10They're now attempting
01:05:11To reach the top flight
01:05:12For the first time
01:05:13In the club's history
01:05:13On Friday night
01:05:14They welcomed Premier League
01:05:16Nottingham Forest
01:05:16Cameron Pope
01:05:17Watch the first meeting
01:05:18Between these two
01:05:19In more than 30 years
01:05:20Wrexham prepare to do battle
01:05:24With top tier opposition
01:05:26For the first time
01:05:27Since their rise
01:05:28Of the leagues began
01:05:29Sam Smith
01:05:30Is the host's danger man
01:05:32Goals in both games
01:05:34So far in 2026
01:05:36Last year's semi-finalists
01:05:38Nottingham Forest
01:05:39Do not want to be
01:05:40The headline scalp
01:05:41Still
01:05:42They make eight changes tonight
01:05:44Igor Jesus
01:05:45And Amari Hutchinson
01:05:46The only outfielders
01:05:48To keep their places
01:05:49From the league win
01:05:50At West Ham
01:05:51The race course
01:05:53Remembers the legendary
01:05:54Terry Yorath
01:05:56The former Wales
01:05:57Captain and manager
01:05:58Passed away
01:05:59This week
01:06:00Age 75
01:06:01Wrexham enter the FA Cup
01:06:05At this stage
01:06:06For the first time
01:06:07Since 1982
01:06:08Their third round
01:06:10Opponents back then
01:06:11Top tier
01:06:12Nottingham Forest
01:06:13And that day
01:06:14Ended with a cup upset
01:06:15Backup
01:06:17Lovely curl on the ball
01:06:20Oh and it's come free
01:06:21And it's Douglas Luiz
01:06:23And he scores
01:06:24And Nottingham Forest
01:06:27Have the lead
01:06:28Or do they?
01:06:29The next time
01:06:30Asking the question
01:06:30I think they think
01:06:31It was handball
01:06:32You can see here
01:06:34Just comes off his arm
01:06:36Doesn't it?
01:06:42Doyle's ball
01:06:43Obson fighting to win it back
01:06:48It's cut to Gakache
01:06:49Oh he's done it
01:06:51Liberato Gakache's first goal in Wrexham colours
01:06:56And look at what it means
01:06:58And look at what it means
01:06:58A reward for Wrexham's perseverance
01:07:03Hutchinson lost it
01:07:04No foul against Dobson
01:07:06What about the finish as well
01:07:08And he gets a big bit of help as well
01:07:11From the deflection
01:07:12Off Morata
01:07:13Igor Jesus with a foot in
01:07:19And then beaten by Doyle
01:07:20This could get better for Wrexham
01:07:21Here's Broadhead
01:07:23Flicking one through
01:07:26Oh and Rathbone
01:07:27It's 2-0
01:07:28Two goals in rapid succession
01:07:32To stun Nottingham Forest
01:07:33Again giving away
01:07:38This time by Igor Jesus
01:07:39And Wrexham weren't hanging around
01:07:42Broadhead had his head up
01:07:44Bit of fortune may be
01:07:45About the way he canons back
01:07:47To Wally Rathbone
01:07:48You make your own look though
01:07:50They say
01:07:51This is why people buy football clubs
01:07:55And he goes Jesus again
01:07:59Stopped by Sam Smith
01:08:01But without the concession
01:08:02Of a free kick
01:08:03And maybe one chance
01:08:05Late in this first half
01:08:07For Forest
01:08:07Oh they've gone quickly
01:08:09And inaccurately
01:08:10And look at Sam Smith
01:08:12While he was inside his own heart
01:08:13And he's away
01:08:15And surely
01:08:16What a let off
01:08:19And they can't believe
01:08:22It's not three
01:08:23Down to his club colours
01:08:26This man doesn't feel the cold
01:08:28But his side are winning
01:08:29Against the Premier League team
01:08:31Savona
01:08:33Oh
01:08:35Off the frame of the goal
01:08:37And this time it will count
01:08:40And Igor Jesus
01:08:43Has got Nottingham Forest
01:08:45Back into this cup time
01:08:47This ball seemed to hang in the air
01:08:50For an age
01:08:50It certainly went over the line
01:08:53Just gets the angle right
01:08:56Off the inside of the post
01:08:58And despite the best efforts of Doyle
01:08:59It's certainly a goal
01:09:02And it was certainly needed
01:09:04Josh Windas is crossed
01:09:08And straight into Nico Williams
01:09:09He will have a free kick
01:09:13To follow it up though
01:09:14Dobson setting this one up
01:09:19Oh they've done it again
01:09:22Brilliant
01:09:23Brilliant from Hyde
01:09:25The definition of bullet header
01:09:29One of those balls
01:09:32That's so close to the goalkeeper
01:09:34That if an attacker gets there first
01:09:36Well
01:09:36They're always good odds
01:09:38Nobody was going to stop Dom Hyde
01:09:41And getting that ball
01:09:42What a time
01:09:44To get your first goal for the club
01:09:45And Nottingham Forest
01:09:49What's more
01:09:49With a quarter of an hour remaining
01:09:51Are left with it all to do
01:09:53Oh Hudson a die
01:09:56And back within one
01:09:59And it didn't take long
01:10:02There is no rest
01:10:05No time to switch off
01:10:07Against the Premier League team
01:10:09Nottingham Forest are not done
01:10:15Very little time remains
01:10:21Savona
01:10:22Hudson-Odoi
01:10:24Fabulous fabulous finish
01:10:27From Callum Hudson-Odoi
01:10:29And he might just have rescued Nottingham Forest
01:10:32Single-Handedly
01:10:33For the first time since the scoring started
01:10:36Nottingham Forest are level
01:10:38And that might well mean
01:10:41Was set for an extra half an hour
01:10:43Both sides are giving this game everything
01:10:50Oh Windas
01:10:53Saved by Sales
01:10:56And he had to make himself big there
01:10:58An enormous chance
01:11:00To re-establish a lead
01:11:02Oh McLean's missed
01:11:10Blaze that one over the top
01:11:12Igor Jesus
01:11:16Saved by Oconcroft
01:11:19And Nottingham Forest cannot take advantage
01:11:23Jay Rodriguez
01:11:27With Wrexham's fifth penalty
01:11:29Oh cool as you like
01:11:32Norlingham Forest's fifth penalty
01:11:38They trail 4-3
01:11:41This has to go in
01:11:44Romare Hutchinson
01:11:45Facing Arthur Oconcroft
01:11:48Saved by Oconcroft
01:11:52These dreams keep getting wilder
01:11:56Wrexham's epic rise
01:11:58Has another big dose of FA Cup fever
01:12:01It's the championship side
01:12:04Who are in to round four
01:12:06The first half is completely unacceptable
01:12:09I let the players know
01:12:10There's certain individuals who certainly know
01:12:12And they can look in the mirror
01:12:13At that side of things
01:12:14But the strangeness of football
01:12:16The players who come on in the second half
01:12:18I thought they were a credit
01:12:19And we went on and looked like a Premier League side
01:12:21It's a big night for the club
01:12:22It really is
01:12:23You know
01:12:23I'm just pleased for this group of players
01:12:25To write their bit of history
01:12:27In the FA Cup for the club
01:12:28Had you practised penalties?
01:12:30Had you thought about it before this game?
01:12:31Yes we did actually
01:12:32We practised them yesterday
01:12:33And you know
01:12:34It's always key to
01:12:35To just go through and get everybody
01:12:37Just that bit of confidence
01:12:39And you know
01:12:40The lad's struck them well
01:12:41But Arthur
01:12:41You know
01:12:42Is the hero tonight
01:12:43Congratulations to Phil Parkinson
01:12:45And Rob
01:12:46Arthur Oconquo
01:12:47He needed that
01:12:48Especially after that howler
01:12:50In the Championship
01:12:51Just before Christmas
01:12:52I knew you'd bring that up
01:12:53He has the night of his life
01:12:54And you bring up a mistake
01:12:56Come on
01:12:57This is reporting
01:12:58It's journalism
01:12:58It's important
01:12:59It's a brilliant night for him
01:13:00It was a really hectic 120 minutes
01:13:03Wasn't it?
01:13:04And he kept his composure throughout
01:13:05Just to back him up
01:13:07And what an evening for him
01:13:08He had wonderful footwork in there
01:13:10For one save with this
01:13:11And then you're looking at
01:13:12When you can keep composure
01:13:14When your team needs you
01:13:16And you come through strong
01:13:17He had a little bit of luck
01:13:18With this save
01:13:19Pushing it back out
01:13:20And then the rebound
01:13:21Off the studs of his boots
01:13:22Basically
01:13:22And when your luck's in
01:13:24It's in as a keeper
01:13:25And he was just a credit
01:13:26To Arthur Oconquo
01:13:27Throughout the night
01:13:28Because he had seven saves
01:13:29In the whole game
01:13:30And he let in some goals
01:13:31But
01:13:32The saves in the penalty shootout
01:13:34Going with real conviction
01:13:35And this is the one I think
01:13:36For the winning penalty save
01:13:37Look how far
01:13:38He goes beyond the post
01:13:40And once he saves it
01:13:41The power that goes through it
01:13:43He gets beyond the post
01:13:45If you're going to go
01:13:46Go with conviction
01:13:48And Ian Arthur Oconquo
01:13:49Went with conviction
01:13:50It was brilliant
01:13:51We love goalkeepers
01:13:51Don't we Dion?
01:13:52Yeah
01:13:52I think so
01:13:54I think so
01:13:55But also
01:13:56Danny Ward
01:13:57Is coming back into contention
01:13:58He got injured in August
01:14:00Big money signing of course
01:14:01And he's coming back
01:14:02So in many ways
01:14:03Things that happen
01:14:04For Wrexham
01:14:04In the cup
01:14:05And also in the league
01:14:06I mean
01:14:06They could make the Premier League
01:14:07This story is incredible
01:14:08Should be turned into
01:14:09Some sort of documentary
01:14:10It keeps on rolling and rolling
01:14:11Ryan Reynolds enjoyed it
01:14:14I was in Wrexham
01:14:16Just before Christmas
01:14:16And they were telling me
01:14:17What it's done for the town
01:14:18It's absolutely incredible
01:14:20The buzz is amazing
01:14:21Oh it's great
01:14:21My two best mates were there
01:14:23At the game
01:14:24In a box below
01:14:25Ryan Reynolds
01:14:26And they kept looking up
01:14:27And every time they looked up
01:14:28He was dancing
01:14:29And then he had his sunglasses on
01:14:30And he was hugging people
01:14:32Then he would have a
01:14:33Have a costume change
01:14:34And then he's got his
01:14:35You know
01:14:36And he just seemed
01:14:37To enjoy himself
01:14:38He seems to
01:14:38He's invested in this
01:14:40You know
01:14:41He's really involved
01:14:42In getting this team
01:14:43To as hard as they possibly can
01:14:45To achieve
01:14:46As much as they possibly can
01:14:48And look at him
01:14:49You know
01:14:50He's animated
01:14:51And all the fans
01:14:52Can see him doing this
01:14:54Dion you make a great point there
01:14:55You know
01:14:55He's invested in it
01:14:56Not just financially
01:14:57But you can see
01:14:58What him and Rob have done
01:14:59They've done it emotionally
01:15:00They're very much
01:15:01In the football club
01:15:02And in the town
01:15:03Rob
01:15:03It makes them feel alive
01:15:04And they're just like
01:15:05Any other fan
01:15:06They're there
01:15:06Living it
01:15:07Absolutely
01:15:07Living the dream
01:15:08Thank you very much indeed
01:15:10Right
01:15:11Heading into this weekend
01:15:12Neither Everton or Sunderland
01:15:13Had won a match in 2026
01:15:15Could the Cup provide
01:15:16A fresh start
01:15:17Commentary from Simon Grayson
01:15:18And Daniel Mann
01:15:19An all Premier League tie
01:15:27Full of intrigue
01:15:28And Tarkovsky does make the first contact
01:15:32Armstrong
01:15:33Armstrong just doesn't get his body
01:15:36And his knee over the ball
01:15:38And slices it over the top
01:15:39But a big opportunity for Everton
01:15:41Long throw could be a route to success
01:15:46Has been on a few occasions
01:15:48Will not dealt with
01:15:50With great conviction
01:15:51Le Fay
01:15:52Well he takes full advantage
01:15:55And Sunderland have won
01:15:57In this third round tie
01:15:59Everton didn't deal well enough
01:16:02With the long throw in
01:16:03But
01:16:03Take Nothik away from Le Fay
01:16:05Yeah that's a fantastic finish
01:16:07On the volley
01:16:07Side footed as well
01:16:09Sunderland
01:16:11In good voice
01:16:12In the stands
01:16:13And in a terrific position
01:16:15On the pitch
01:16:15Shaka's corner
01:16:18Le Fay
01:16:18Arriving on the near post
01:16:19Just peat into it
01:16:21Spectacular
01:16:22And Pickford able to make the save
01:16:24To Dinheim Ukele
01:16:25Well it's an unbelievable
01:16:28Overhead kick
01:16:29And Pickford gets across
01:16:30Really quickly
01:16:31Ghana negotiating the situation
01:16:36Neatly in tight space
01:16:37But Serkin first to show
01:16:39Mundell
01:16:40Coming inside
01:16:41And Pickford flying across again
01:16:44Shows the capabilities
01:16:48And why is England number one's goalkeeper
01:16:50By getting across
01:16:51And having a strong left hand
01:16:52Here's McNeil
01:16:56Armstrong
01:16:58Through one challenge
01:17:00Patterson to hang it up
01:17:03Beto was he
01:17:04Impeded
01:17:06Was there a tug of the shirt
01:17:08Beto's looking for it
01:17:12Both holding on to each other
01:17:14Beto's got hold of
01:17:15Trehune's shirt as well
01:17:17This is Asnu's first involvement
01:17:23Chance to rein one in
01:17:25With a left foot
01:17:25And it could have been
01:17:26Very inviting
01:17:27But Granit Xhaka
01:17:28With some brilliant positioning
01:17:29We'll look at the drive
01:17:30And determination
01:17:31From the debutant here
01:17:32Asnu
01:17:32Goes down
01:17:33Wants a penalty
01:17:35He'll get it
01:17:35Well talk about
01:17:37Impact substitution
01:17:39Massive moment
01:17:41And what an impact
01:17:42By the fire
01:17:42James Garner
01:17:45Accepts the
01:17:47Weighted responsibility
01:17:48To try and keep
01:17:49Everton in the FA Cup
01:17:50And he's more than up to it
01:17:53And he's more than up to it
01:17:53Well Sunderland will howl long into the night
01:17:57With some justification
01:17:58About the merits of that decision
01:18:01But James Garner not worrying about that
01:18:04And producing the kind of coolness
01:18:06That's now customary
01:18:08Maybe a little sign of tiredness there
01:18:16From Sunderland
01:18:16It's Tieno Barry
01:18:18And he's found Beto
01:18:20And Beto
01:18:23Only finds the side
01:18:24Netting
01:18:25Sunderland looking bright
01:18:34Is it all feeding Hume
01:18:36Lefeuze up with him
01:18:38Xhaka
01:18:42On his favoured foot
01:18:43And Tarkovsky
01:18:46In the way
01:18:46This time
01:18:47So
01:18:52James Garner
01:18:53Robin Roofs
01:18:56Makes the save
01:18:58So it's Enzo Lefeuze
01:19:03No doubts
01:19:07No dramas
01:19:08Pickford guesses right
01:19:09Massive presence of Roofs
01:19:13In front of him
01:19:13And Roofs
01:19:15Is turning into Sunderland's hero
01:19:18And a tale of regret
01:19:21For Tieno Barry
01:19:22Granit
01:19:25Xhaka
01:19:25And spot on
01:19:28Pickford barely had time
01:19:31To register
01:19:31That it had been taken
01:19:32Well
01:19:35One
01:19:36Striker fails
01:19:37Another needs to score
01:19:40And Beto
01:19:40Doesn't score
01:19:41And Sunderland
01:19:43And Sunderland a one kick away
01:19:44But one of Sunderland's
01:19:50Great characters
01:19:51Has a chance
01:19:52To win
01:19:53This FA Cup tie
01:19:54Against one of Sunderland's
01:19:57Greatest products
01:19:59And he does
01:20:01And you couldn't win it
01:20:02Any more
01:20:03Emphatically
01:20:04Than that
01:20:05And it's a day
01:20:08Of triumph
01:20:09For the Black Cats
01:20:10In the FA Cup
01:20:12Before the penalties went
01:20:14The goalkeeper coach
01:20:15Comes to me
01:20:15He shows me a little bit
01:20:17Where
01:20:17They expect him to shoot
01:20:19What is their preferred side
01:20:21Which foot they are
01:20:22I think if you
01:20:23Save three penalties
01:20:25Out of three
01:20:25I don't want to call it a hero
01:20:27Because I could have been a hero
01:20:28If I saved it in the game
01:20:29But
01:20:30No it's a nice way
01:20:31To help the team
01:20:32Rob I promise you
01:20:34We will praise the goalkeeping
01:20:35In just a moment
01:20:36After we just tidy up
01:20:38The penalty
01:20:38Everton
01:20:39What are you thinking
01:20:39The no penalty
01:20:40Yeah Hume on Asnu here
01:20:45I mean
01:20:46Asnu puts a cross
01:20:47And then he goes
01:20:47To retrieve it again
01:20:48He gets involved
01:20:49In the tackle
01:20:50And then there's a little bit
01:20:51Of contact right there
01:20:52I don't know what
01:20:54The referee's seen
01:20:55It's just shoulder to shoulder
01:20:57It's never
01:20:58Ever
01:20:59A penalty
01:21:00If there was
01:21:01A VAR
01:21:02They would have
01:21:02You know
01:21:03Taken it away
01:21:04It's just really
01:21:05Really poor refereeing
01:21:06And Xhaka's not happy
01:21:08Not happy at all
01:21:09As you can see
01:21:09Yeah
01:21:11That cup was never seen again
01:21:12No
01:21:13In pieces
01:21:14Let's talk about Rob
01:21:15He's having a great season
01:21:16Isn't he Rob
01:21:16Yeah brilliant
01:21:17So composed
01:21:18So calm
01:21:18And he was so calm
01:21:19In these penalties as well
01:21:20So he's just having a chat
01:21:22With the goalkeeper
01:21:22Koski Cutler
01:21:23And he's just having
01:21:24Where they've been
01:21:25But he had a little
01:21:26Hand up before
01:21:27Because he'd already
01:21:28Faced one of the penalty
01:21:28Takers
01:21:29And the thing is
01:21:30When the guys are
01:21:31Walking up
01:21:31And doing this slow motion
01:21:33You've got to wait
01:21:34Yeah
01:21:35You've got to wait
01:21:36For them to move
01:21:37To blink first basically
01:21:39And that's what he does
01:21:40And they're terrible penalties
01:21:42That one
01:21:42And Beto's
01:21:43And really poor penalties
01:21:44But he's waiting
01:21:46And making them
01:21:47Be poor penalties
01:21:47Because he's just
01:21:49Keeping his calm
01:21:50Keeping his nerve
01:21:51Great goalkeeping
01:21:52Brilliant stuff
01:21:52Right finally
01:21:53All the goals
01:21:54From the seven
01:21:55Other third round ties
01:21:56Played across Friday
01:21:57And today
01:21:57Championship promotion
01:22:01Contenders clashed
01:22:02At the Bet365 stadium
01:22:04With Stoke City fans
01:22:05Hoping their team
01:22:06Could exploit the leaders
01:22:07Coventry City's
01:22:08Recent stuttering form
01:22:09Coventry famously
01:22:11Won this trophy
01:22:11In 1987
01:22:12Knocking out Stoke
01:22:14En route to the final
01:22:15They struck the post
01:22:16Twice in the space
01:22:17Of seven minutes
01:22:18After their marked
01:22:19Improvement
01:22:19Following the interval
01:22:20First Haji Wright's
01:22:22Header came back
01:22:23Off the woodwork
01:22:24With the goal gaping
01:22:25Then Jack Rudoni's
01:22:27Deflected effort
01:22:28Clipped defender
01:22:28Ashley Phillips' leg
01:22:30Before meeting
01:22:30A similar fate
01:22:31Frank Lampard's Sky Blues
01:22:34Would rue those
01:22:35Missed opportunities
01:22:36Cissé
01:22:37Oh
01:22:38Astonishing
01:22:40Again
01:22:42Screaming out
01:22:43For a goal
01:22:43Has just had one
01:22:45Of the highest quality
01:22:47Progress for Mark Robbins
01:22:49In the Cup
01:22:50And revenge for their
01:22:51Narrow defeat
01:22:52In the league
01:22:52In November
01:22:53These two sides
01:22:56Will hope to be
01:22:56In the championship
01:22:57Promotion race
01:22:58This season
01:22:59Plenty of changes
01:23:00For both of the two
01:23:01Bristol City made fewer
01:23:02And started better
01:23:04Inside two minutes
01:23:05Emil Rees
01:23:06Headed them in front
01:23:07Compared to Watford
01:23:09City have been
01:23:10Inconsistent in the league
01:23:11But it was all
01:23:12In sync here
01:23:13This time
01:23:13Rees spotted
01:23:14Anis Mehmeti
01:23:15Who made it two
01:23:16It was one of those days
01:23:18When everything came off
01:23:20For City
01:23:20Scott Twine
01:23:21Sent in a cross
01:23:22Which Rob Atkinson
01:23:23Got to
01:23:23Before the Watford keeper
01:23:253-0
01:23:25And two minutes later
01:23:27They were in again
01:23:28How's this for a pass
01:23:29From Neto Borgias
01:23:30Rees did the rest
01:23:32That was four
01:23:33Watford had largely
01:23:34Been spectators
01:23:35At this point
01:23:36They did belatedly
01:23:37Get involved
01:23:38Jack Greaves
01:23:39With a goal
01:23:39That barely qualified
01:23:40As a consolation
01:23:41Because the Robins
01:23:42Weren't done yet
01:23:43Earthy
01:23:47What a lovely ball
01:23:49Chance for a hat-trick
01:23:50Here
01:23:50Rees keeps his feet
01:23:51Keeps his composure
01:23:52His best of the lot
01:23:555-1
01:23:55Bristol City
01:23:56Swagger through
01:23:57Ipswich Town
01:24:00And Blackpool
01:24:01Have met just once
01:24:01Before in the FA Cup
01:24:03Which ended in a
01:24:032-1 victory
01:24:04For the Tractor Boys
01:24:05Back in 2010
01:24:06Kieran McKenna
01:24:08Made seven changes
01:24:09From their last league
01:24:10Outing
01:24:10But understandably
01:24:11Stuck with top scorer
01:24:12Jayden Philogene
01:24:13Who responded
01:24:14With a quality finish
01:24:15To open the scoring
01:24:16Philogene
01:24:18And the championship
01:24:20Side lead
01:24:21The home team
01:24:22Were dominant throughout
01:24:23With over 70%
01:24:24Possession
01:24:24And 31 attempts
01:24:26On goal
01:24:26But they were unable
01:24:27To add a second
01:24:28Until three minutes
01:24:29From time
01:24:30Jacob Greaves
01:24:31Headed in from the corner
01:24:32Six minutes
01:24:35Into injury time
01:24:36Blackpool won a penalty
01:24:37Ashley Fletcher's
01:24:41Spot kick
01:24:41Was a mere consolation
01:24:43It was decidedly
01:24:51January in Cambridge
01:24:52There's a cup tie
01:24:53Over there
01:24:54Somewhere
01:24:54And Birmingham City
01:24:56Began brightly in the murk
01:24:58First they tried to craft it
01:25:00And then Kai Wagner
01:25:02Decided to blast it
01:25:04His first goal
01:25:05In just his second game
01:25:06Since joining
01:25:07From Philadelphia Union
01:25:09League 2
01:25:10Cambridge United
01:25:11Hadn't lost at home
01:25:12Since September
01:25:13They're 11 unbeaten here
01:25:15But Birmingham
01:25:16Caught them on their heels
01:25:17Kyogo Furuhashi
01:25:18Had only scored once
01:25:19Since joining the Blues
01:25:20But this is the kind of
01:25:22Finnish Celtic fans
01:25:23Remember him for
01:25:24Cambridge offered
01:25:25Birmingham more charity
01:25:26In the second half
01:25:27So much space
01:25:28For Marvin Dutch
01:25:29To score City's third
01:25:31And it seemed
01:25:32That would be that
01:25:33But the Hughes
01:25:3440 places below the Blues
01:25:36Decided to make things
01:25:37Interesting
01:25:38In the 80th minute
01:25:39Suley Kaikai got one back
01:25:41And as the clock
01:25:42Tipped towards 90
01:25:43The 4th tier side
01:25:45Hoisted one high
01:25:46Thing's not over yet
01:25:47It is a deep one
01:25:48And Kaikai
01:25:49It is 3-2
01:25:51But Cambridge had left it
01:25:53A little too late
01:25:54MK Dons and Oxford United
01:25:57Players don George
01:25:58Baldock Foundation
01:25:59T-shirts before their
01:26:00Poignant FA Cup
01:26:01Third round tie
01:26:02The former defender
01:26:03Who graced both clubs
01:26:05Tragically drowned
01:26:0615 months ago
01:26:07Oxford's new boss
01:26:09Matt Bloomfield
01:26:09Watching from the stands
01:26:10Got an insight
01:26:11Into what lies ahead
01:26:12As the Championship
01:26:13Strugglers
01:26:14Deservedly fell behind
01:26:15After Aaron Collins' opener
01:26:20Will Lancashire
01:26:21Equalised for Oxford
01:26:22Early in the second half
01:26:23Injury time
01:26:24Couldn't settle it
01:26:25And after Jonathan
01:26:26Leaco's
01:26:27Wayward spot kick
01:26:28The visitors took
01:26:29Full advantage
01:26:29In the shootout
01:26:30Have to find the back
01:26:32Of the net
01:26:33Of the net here
01:26:33And he has it
01:26:36And it's
01:26:38Matt Ingram
01:26:38Sending the ewes
01:26:40Into the fourth round
01:26:42Of the FA Cup
01:26:43It is
01:26:46Believe it or not
01:26:47Nearly 13 years
01:26:49Since Wigan Athletics
01:26:50FA Cup triumph
01:26:50Much has happened
01:26:52Since to the Latics
01:26:53For teenager Harrison
01:26:54Bertone
01:26:54That's most of his
01:26:55Lifetime
01:26:56Time perhaps
01:26:57To make new
01:26:58Cup
01:26:58Memories
01:26:59Bertone
01:27:00Cuts in
01:27:03There's a deflection
01:27:04And it's in
01:27:051-0 up
01:27:07Against Championship
01:27:07Preston North End
01:27:08And now
01:27:09Wigan of the
01:27:10Division below
01:27:10Had a chance
01:27:11For another
01:27:12Penalty
01:27:12Wigan had got
01:27:14Through both
01:27:15Previous rounds
01:27:16In shootouts
01:27:17Callum Wright
01:27:18Could settle it
01:27:18Anxious times
01:27:20Now for Wright
01:27:21And for Wigan
01:27:22Preston with
01:27:24The last attack
01:27:25Of the match
01:27:25Alfie Devine's
01:27:26Header
01:27:27Sam Tickle's
01:27:28Remarkable save
01:27:29And had Brad
01:27:30Parts equalised
01:27:31Offside
01:27:33Wigan's
01:27:34Cup run
01:27:34Goes on
01:27:35Hats off
01:27:38To the Vale
