00:00:00One, three, four!
00:00:01Oh, what a goal! Oh, look at that!
00:00:04Absolutely phenomenal!
00:00:06Rooney Alcott!
00:00:08Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:30Five Premier League games on the way.
00:00:52And if you like set pieces, you're in for a treat.
00:00:55I've gone for the big sell.
00:00:56Danny Murphy scored a few in his time.
00:00:58He's been telling Theo about them all afternoon.
00:01:01Manchester City were unbeaten in nine matches,
00:01:04but they had lost on their last two trips to Aston Villa.
00:01:06Your commentator at Villa Park, Guy Mowbrie.
00:01:11Little wonder that Pep Guardiola has previewed this
00:01:14as one of the toughest away games his side will have all season.
00:01:18Villa have got over a slow start
00:01:20by winning their last three in the Premier League.
00:01:22And now they're keen to get over a surprise defeat
00:01:24at go-ahead Eagles in the Europa League.
00:01:27Last weekend's match winner at Spurs,
00:01:29Emi Buendia, comes in to start for Villa today.
00:01:32And there's a recall for Ollie Watkins too.
00:01:34Evan Gesson and Daniel Marlon are on the bench.
00:01:37For City, Tijani Rinders, Phil Foden and Oscar Bob come in
00:01:40as the three changes from Tuesday's team at Villa Real,
00:01:44with Rinders set to play in the Rodri role in front of the back four.
00:01:47And of course, there's maximum focus on Erling Haaland,
00:01:50with Villa's task to stop him scoring for a 13th game in a row
00:01:54for club and country.
00:01:57Once again, players will take the knee pre-kick-off
00:02:00as the Premier League highlights its no-room-for-racism campaign.
00:02:04This year it has a special focus on education.
00:02:10City are in their Luminous and Grey concoction for this one.
00:02:14Rinders is going to have a shot.
00:02:24That whistled past Emi Martinez's goal.
00:02:28Really bright start from Manchester City here.
00:02:32Let's see how close it was.
00:02:34Not too far away.
00:02:36Dean.
00:02:37Unana.
00:02:41Buendia.
00:02:43Very slippery.
00:02:45Very neat.
00:02:47Finds Rodgers.
00:02:48Rodgers to Watkins.
00:02:52Shot from Luca Dean blocked by Stones.
00:02:57Villa were flowing and then it just got a little laboured at the end.
00:02:59Torres.
00:03:05Super run, that from Luca Dean.
00:03:10He's claiming a corner, Michael Oliver thinks about it and then agrees with him.
00:03:15Mateus Nunes says no way.
00:03:20Mateus Nunes' argument was that he was fouled.
00:03:23Deer.
00:03:31There's Cash.
00:03:33Cash shoots, Cash scores.
00:03:39A left-foot rasper.
00:03:43Villa swinging to the lead.
00:03:44They're all asking him, where did that come from?
00:03:50Brilliant finish.
00:03:53Don't think the corner was fully intended to work in the way that it did.
00:03:57But it did.
00:03:59What a sight that must be for any Aston Villa supporter.
00:04:04Cash committed himself to the left-footed shot pretty early.
00:04:07He couldn't have hit it any more sweetly.
00:04:10Aston Villa 1 matches the City 0.
00:04:12Stokes.
00:04:23Towards Bernardo Silva.
00:04:25Not flagged offside and he plays Haaland in.
00:04:28And when Haaland's in, well, he usually scores.
00:04:31But then again, he's not every week up against a goalkeeper as good as Emi Martinez.
00:04:37Didn't catch it as cleanly as he would have liked.
00:04:39Well, Emi Buendia is going to have to be helped from the field here and his afternoon is over.
00:04:48And he goes off to be replaced by, well, a little like Morgan Rodgers.
00:04:52Another one who was at Manchester City but didn't make it all the way with them.
00:04:55Jadon Sancho is on.
00:04:57And he gets the greeting you'd expect from City supporters as a player on loan from Manchester United.
00:05:02And he's on.
00:05:02He's on.
00:05:05And he's on.
00:05:14Sancho.
00:05:17He quickly played back to him.
00:05:19Now it's come to McGinn and Watkins is trying to stay onside here.
00:05:21Ruben Diaz in his way Watkins to Sancho his first attempt didn't get far
00:05:28there's Kamara and here's McGinn
00:05:31took a little nick on the way it's a corner
00:05:36every time Villa have got forward after not being able to for the first few
00:05:42minutes of the game they've got forward quickly and with
00:05:45confidence free header Watkins another chance Ruben Diaz with the block
00:05:58no changes made by either Unai Emery nor Pep Guardiola during the break
00:06:03something's changed for Manchester City because in their six Premier League games
00:06:08prior to today they had scored the opening goal not here
00:06:15Lucadine now with it's handed cross plays it against Mateus Nunes it's into the
00:06:20Holt end it's a filler corner
00:06:28to catch to take it
00:06:31oh what a chance that was McGinn advanced onto it at just the right time but
00:06:39all he could do was ping it into the crowd the crowd of players that is
00:06:44City having awful problems at Aston Villa's excellent corners
00:06:49Foden
00:06:57Savinho
00:07:03and there were constant shouts I'm presuming from the Villa technical area of stop the cross
00:07:10stop the cross Matty
00:07:12that's what Matty Cash did
00:07:14three Manchester City changes being prepared
00:07:17attacked by Ruben Diaz
00:07:21breaks for Guardiola
00:07:23Martinez can't get to it
00:07:27it's come out to Savinho now
00:07:29and again
00:07:31and turned over his own bar by Pau Torres
00:07:34corner City
00:07:37very nearly goal City
00:07:39very nearly own goal Villa
00:07:41Pau Torres
00:07:43managed to get just enough on that to pop it up over the bar
00:07:47look at Emi Martinez face
00:07:49look at Esri Consa's reaction
00:07:50they can't believe how he's done that
00:07:52Oden delivers
00:07:57that's over the bar from Josco Guardiola
00:08:00and that is the cue
00:08:02with Manchester City still a goal behind after that flurry of activity
00:08:06for Pep Guardiola
00:08:07to play the three card trick
00:08:10and again
00:08:16holding off O'Reilly
00:08:19getting away from Doku as well
00:08:21and now it's swept out towards Sancho
00:08:23Mateus Nunes struggling
00:08:24Sancho
00:08:27beats him
00:08:28gets it again
00:08:30and Donnarumma keeps him out twice
00:08:32they're stepping it up again
00:08:37the volume's up again
00:08:38terrific bit of work by Jadon Sancho
00:08:41left Mateus Nunes behind
00:08:43just trying to square it
00:08:45Donnarumma got to it
00:08:46and got to it again
00:08:47dock it
00:08:53Foden
00:08:55Foden stands it up
00:08:58Haaland
00:08:59straight at Martinez
00:09:01I make that
00:09:04two efforts on goal
00:09:06from Erling Haaland
00:09:07today
00:09:07both of them have been
00:09:09pretty easy for
00:09:10the Aston Villa keeper
00:09:11two Aston Villa substitutions now
00:09:15John McGinn
00:09:16has run his last
00:09:17and Jadon Sancho's going off
00:09:19so the substitute
00:09:19is substituted
00:09:21he won't be happy about that
00:09:23but it's just the way it is
00:09:24he had to come on early
00:09:25for Emi Buendia
00:09:26Unai Emery feels the need
00:09:28for a further change
00:09:29Thomas finds Barkley
00:09:33lovely touch that
00:09:34Watkins gets it back to him
00:09:36Barkley
00:09:37through to Ollie Watkins
00:09:38Donnarumma out to meet him
00:09:40and dispossess him
00:09:41what a great tackle
00:09:42Watkins needed to get
00:09:45just a little bit more
00:09:46on this first touch of the ball
00:09:48he had eyes for Donnarumma
00:09:49but he didn't get any touch at all
00:09:51and that allowed the clean tackle
00:09:52here's Mamouche
00:10:02Mamouche across
00:10:03oh and Haaland's got it in
00:10:05but he's offside
00:10:08Haaland's feeling it
00:10:11he's gone clattering into the post
00:10:13it was Mamouche who went too soon
00:10:15the goal won't count
00:10:17that's been confirmed
00:10:18and there's proof for us
00:10:20that little dip and move
00:10:22from Mamouche
00:10:23was just a split second
00:10:24too early
00:10:25it is four Premier League wins
00:10:29in a row for Aston Villa
00:10:30charging up the table
00:10:32to sit just one point behind
00:10:35Manchester City
00:10:37who've now lost here
00:10:39in each of the last three seasons
00:10:41Aston Villa 1
00:10:43Manchester City 0
00:10:44What was the key to that success today?
00:10:48Our fortress
00:10:49Villa Park
00:10:50we are feeling here so so good
00:10:52and the atmosphere
00:10:54and the positive energy
00:10:56they were transmitting
00:10:57the support to us
00:10:58was fantastic
00:10:59we were just in the hotel
00:11:01being so demanding
00:11:02about the game plan
00:11:03today morning
00:11:03we were planning as well
00:11:04how we could respond
00:11:06against the demand
00:11:07they were planning to us
00:11:10and we responded fantastic
00:11:11Pep just no way through today
00:11:13too difficult to break Villa down
00:11:15to score a goal
00:11:16we create
00:11:17we make a more than
00:11:19good game
00:11:20we're still impressive
00:11:22and yeah
00:11:24we block
00:11:25we cross us
00:11:26we make a lot of chances
00:11:27being there
00:11:28and unfortunately
00:11:29we could not score
00:11:29Mati
00:11:30left foot pinger
00:11:31tell us all about it
00:11:32no yeah
00:11:33it was a nice strike
00:11:35yeah
00:11:35I haven't seen it back
00:11:36but
00:11:36something we worked on yesterday
00:11:38in training
00:11:38not exactly me to hit it
00:11:40on the edge of the box
00:11:41I sort of try and get in them positions
00:11:43and make good contact
00:11:44yeah
00:11:44left foot right foot
00:11:45it was nice
00:11:46yeah good finish from
00:11:48Mati Cash
00:11:49and a really good performance
00:11:50from Aston Villa
00:11:51Unai Emery said
00:11:52it was a long time
00:11:52in the planning
00:11:53that was what they wanted
00:11:54to do against Manchester City
00:11:56but did City provide
00:11:58the opposition
00:11:58that Villa would have expected
00:12:00or were there any surprises
00:12:01well I was really surprised
00:12:03to see the team she is
00:12:04I'm sure Villa's players
00:12:05were too
00:12:06Pep had three
00:12:08orthodox central
00:12:09midfield players
00:12:10defensive midfield players
00:12:11on the bench
00:12:11Kovacic
00:12:13Gonzalez
00:12:14Rico Lewis
00:12:15and he decided to play
00:12:17Reinders in there
00:12:17who we know is a wonderful
00:12:18number eight
00:12:19so he's not just playing
00:12:20one holding midfield player
00:12:21he's playing a holding midfield
00:12:23player who's not used to
00:12:23playing the role
00:12:24and Villa took advantage
00:12:26of it brilliantly
00:12:26with the quality players
00:12:28they have who
00:12:28like to play in the pockets
00:12:31we know the Villa system
00:12:31look there's Reinders
00:12:32set up behind Foden and Silva
00:12:34who played
00:12:34quite high
00:12:35trying to press Villa
00:12:36but when Villa got settled
00:12:37in the game
00:12:38the quality to then get out
00:12:40Buendia's been terrific
00:12:41they're outnumbering
00:12:43City's back four
00:12:44they're onto them
00:12:45we know that Rogers
00:12:46and Buendia love to get
00:12:47in those pockets
00:12:48and Reinders to be fair to him
00:12:51I don't know whether he's not
00:12:52spotting it
00:12:52or he's not really got that
00:12:54defensive awareness
00:12:56to spot the danger
00:12:57he's being asked to do a job
00:12:58here we see again
00:12:59Reinders the deeper one
00:13:00the other two trying to
00:13:01squeeze Villa in there
00:13:02and then when Villa get out
00:13:04with the quality they've got
00:13:05Rogers and McGinn
00:13:06narrow
00:13:07they mix it up well
00:13:08the players
00:13:09they swap positions sometimes
00:13:10and again they're at that
00:13:11City back four
00:13:12and this is how Villa play
00:13:14I mean it's not a surprise
00:13:15they do this every week
00:13:16very rarely changes his system
00:13:17the personnel changes a bit
00:13:18but you can see here
00:13:19this situation
00:13:20Kamara McGinn
00:13:21on the edge of the box
00:13:22Reinders
00:13:24he can't get to both of them
00:13:25he's got no help
00:13:26doesn't matter
00:13:27he's fuming
00:13:28because he's got no help
00:13:29next to him
00:13:29so it's not all on him
00:13:31again you can see that
00:13:32triangle
00:13:33Kamara in the space
00:13:36and Reinders as you can see
00:13:37he's dropped deep this time
00:13:38he's not quite sure
00:13:39whether to drop off
00:13:40drop in
00:13:40because he's not used to
00:13:41playing the role
00:13:42it takes time to become
00:13:43skilled in that position
00:13:45and again a good quality
00:13:46ball in
00:13:47the goal actually
00:13:49I feel that a holding
00:13:50defensive midfielder
00:13:51who spots danger
00:13:52would probably get to
00:13:53the edge of the box
00:13:54from that central position
00:13:55and block this
00:13:56now when it eventually
00:13:57comes out to cash
00:13:58he ends up in a great
00:13:59position
00:13:59and it's a brilliant finish
00:14:00Bernardo Silva
00:14:01doesn't do very well
00:14:02and Reinders is still
00:14:03in there
00:14:04now
00:14:04second half
00:14:05City were much better
00:14:06made changes
00:14:07and Villa had to defend
00:14:08for the lives
00:14:08but I tell you what
00:14:09they did it brilliantly
00:14:11I mean this is a great
00:14:11clearance from Torres
00:14:13Unana
00:14:14gets back in a great
00:14:16position
00:14:16takes one in the face
00:14:17for the team
00:14:18and this was
00:14:19time and time again
00:14:20this is probably my
00:14:21favourite one
00:14:21Barkley come on a sub
00:14:23sometimes subs
00:14:24look at him getting back in
00:14:25sprinting
00:14:25job for the team
00:14:26cut out for a block
00:14:27so many times
00:14:28we see substitutes
00:14:29coming on
00:14:29miserable and not
00:14:30wanting to do the role
00:14:31and that was masterminded
00:14:32by Emery
00:14:33because he plays a system
00:14:34that means the players
00:14:36have great variation
00:14:38in what they can do
00:14:39they've got freedom
00:14:39to swap positions
00:14:40and fill in those spaces
00:14:41and they cause
00:14:42first half especially
00:14:43they cause City
00:14:44lots of problems
00:14:45and they've turned
00:14:45their form around
00:14:46after a really disastrous
00:14:47start to the season
00:14:48they've kind of
00:14:49mirrored Liverpool
00:14:50well yeah
00:14:51the opposite of what
00:14:52Liverpool have done
00:14:53in terms of their season
00:14:55what do you think
00:14:56has been key to it
00:14:57Theo
00:14:57well I think
00:14:58what Danny says
00:14:59about the substitutions
00:15:00has been really key
00:15:00Bundir
00:15:01of course he went off
00:15:01injured today
00:15:02a major factor
00:15:03in the way that
00:15:04they've progressed now
00:15:05as well
00:15:06I feel
00:15:06the goals
00:15:07it's all about goals
00:15:08and the patience
00:15:09and Emery's been at the
00:15:11club for so long
00:15:11and I think he's earned
00:15:12that respect
00:15:13and that
00:15:13he's getting rewarded
00:15:15of course for his players
00:15:16and that work ethic
00:15:17and I think it just shows
00:15:18the fact that the players
00:15:19are on his side
00:15:19and they never shy away
00:15:21from his skills
00:15:22of how he develops
00:15:24a team
00:15:24and I think
00:15:25that's the side
00:15:26of the players
00:15:26they trust him
00:15:27and I think
00:15:28the patience
00:15:28of the fans
00:15:29is really important
00:15:30and it's clearly
00:15:30showing that
00:15:31that's for sure
00:15:31Erling Haaland
00:15:32had a goal disallowed
00:15:33for offside
00:15:34in the build-up
00:15:35nearly injured himself
00:15:36in the process there
00:15:37but if Aston Villa
00:15:39can stop Erling Haaland
00:15:40and stop Manchester City
00:15:42can other teams
00:15:42do that?
00:15:43well they can
00:15:44well they can
00:15:44I mean it's hard
00:15:45stopping him
00:15:45when he's playing
00:15:46so well
00:15:46and looks
00:15:46he did get
00:15:47in some good
00:15:47positions today
00:15:48I think it will
00:15:49be a big help
00:15:50for him
00:15:50and Manchester City
00:15:51that Marmouche
00:15:52is back in the squad
00:15:53Cherki's coming back
00:15:54from injury
00:15:55two really good players
00:15:56who will add
00:15:57to the creativity
00:15:57but yeah
00:15:59I mean
00:15:59I don't think
00:16:00today's result
00:16:01means that
00:16:02they're out of it
00:16:02if Haaland stays fit
00:16:04and looks as good
00:16:04as he does
00:16:05they're going to
00:16:06be in there
00:16:06with a shout
00:16:07even though today
00:16:07wasn't their best
00:16:08performance
00:16:08now it's been
00:16:10a bad week
00:16:11at the Palace
00:16:12they lost their
00:16:13first ever
00:16:13European home game
00:16:14against A.K.
00:16:15Lanarka
00:16:15and next up
00:16:16a trip to
00:16:17league leaders
00:16:18Arsenal
00:16:18Mark Scott
00:16:19was at the Emirates
00:16:20after 19 games
00:16:23unbeaten
00:16:23that loss
00:16:24to Ike
00:16:24was Palace's
00:16:25second in three matches
00:16:26while their fortifications
00:16:28have been a bit
00:16:29flimsy of late
00:16:30Arsenal's remain
00:16:31rock solid
00:16:32with the Gunners
00:16:33conceding just
00:16:34three goals
00:16:34in 12 games
00:16:35having made a couple
00:16:36of changes
00:16:37in midweek
00:16:38Mikel Arteta
00:16:39reverts back
00:16:39to the team
00:16:40that began
00:16:40the win at Fulham
00:16:41with a better
00:16:42Eza facing the club
00:16:43he enjoyed five
00:16:44very fruitful years
00:16:45with before leaving
00:16:47for Arsenal
00:16:47in the summer
00:16:48having tweaked
00:16:49things in Europe
00:16:50two
00:16:50Palace also returned
00:16:52to the line-up
00:16:52from their last
00:16:53league game
00:16:54Wharton
00:17:02under pressure
00:17:02from Rice
00:17:03and he's given it away
00:17:05and then lunged in
00:17:06and has gone away
00:17:06with one
00:17:07Matteta now
00:17:11trying to make it
00:17:11difficult
00:17:12for Saliba
00:17:13and he's done that
00:17:14and tried to poke it
00:17:15through for Jeremy Pino
00:17:16picked up by Daniel
00:17:17Munoz
00:17:18Munoz's ball in
00:17:19and Pino couldn't
00:17:20quite get there
00:17:21cleared behind
00:17:22by Gabriel
00:17:23very uncharacteristically
00:17:26sloppy from Arsenal
00:17:27at the back there
00:17:28one long bang
00:17:29forwards from Richards
00:17:30Matteta
00:17:31shrugging off
00:17:32Saliba
00:17:33not once
00:17:34but twice
00:17:34you don't see that
00:17:35very often
00:17:35his ball through
00:17:37should really
00:17:38have been tidied up
00:17:39Thomas Tuchel's
00:17:42picked this one
00:17:43as his Sunday
00:17:44day out
00:17:45not much for him
00:17:46to cast his eye
00:17:47across so far
00:17:48oh that's loose
00:17:51and Sarr's on to it
00:17:52speeding away
00:17:53from Calafiore
00:17:54Ismaila Sarr
00:17:55that's an excellent
00:17:56block from Gabriel
00:17:57they've had a couple
00:18:01of sketchy moments
00:18:02this afternoon
00:18:03this latest one
00:18:05from Zubumendi
00:18:05presenting the ball
00:18:06to Ismaila Sarr
00:18:07who had Matteta
00:18:08up there
00:18:09but went for goal
00:18:10and found Gabriel
00:18:11in his way
00:18:12this side have lost
00:18:14just one of their
00:18:15last 14
00:18:15in the league
00:18:17that defeat
00:18:18at Everton
00:18:19earlier this month
00:18:20intercepted by
00:18:22Jurien Timber
00:18:23Jokeres buffeting
00:18:25LaCroix
00:18:26and getting the wrong
00:18:26side of him
00:18:27great stuff
00:18:28by Victor Jokeres
00:18:29LaCroix getting back
00:18:30at him though
00:18:31to just delay
00:18:31his progress
00:18:32Zubumendi
00:18:35hurried by Sarr
00:18:36but got it out
00:18:37to Rice
00:18:37urged to have a hit
00:18:38goes to Trossar
00:18:39instead
00:18:40Leandro Trossar
00:18:42Henderson down
00:18:43smartly
00:18:44always a save
00:18:45you'd expect him
00:18:46to make
00:18:46but it is the first
00:18:47shot on target
00:18:48in the game
00:18:49Bukayo Saka
00:18:53Saliba
00:18:57Saka
00:19:01that's a trip
00:19:02by Pino
00:19:03this side
00:19:12this side got
00:19:12another two goals
00:19:13from set pieces
00:19:14here in midweek
00:19:14and Mikel Arteta
00:19:15says he started
00:19:16thinking about
00:19:17the importance
00:19:18of scoring
00:19:19from them
00:19:19a decade ago
00:19:20delivered by
00:19:24Declan Rice
00:19:25oh and they had
00:19:27options in there
00:19:27Eze
00:19:27his first
00:19:35Premier League goal
00:19:37for Arsenal
00:19:37comes against the side
00:19:39he left for the
00:19:40Gunners in the summer
00:19:41it fell perfectly
00:19:44for Ibera Eze
00:19:45and that is a
00:19:47perfect finish
00:19:48a game that has
00:19:51been lacking
00:19:51in quality
00:19:52finally sees
00:19:54some
00:19:54from the boot
00:19:56of Arsenal's
00:19:57ex-Palace man
00:19:58Arsenal 1
00:20:00Crystal Palace
00:20:010
00:20:01Saka
00:20:12Supermendi
00:20:15popped over
00:20:15to Calafiore
00:20:16Trossar
00:20:19for Calafiore
00:20:20it's a free
00:20:25kick for
00:20:25handball
00:20:26Daniel Munoz
00:20:27says that he
00:20:28couldn't do much
00:20:28about it
00:20:29but Thomas Bramall
00:20:30begs to differ
00:20:30lucky that it's
00:20:33not another
00:20:34couple of yards
00:20:35across to the
00:20:36right
00:20:36otherwise Arsenal
00:20:37would have a
00:20:37spot kick
00:20:38it's essentially
00:20:40a short corner
00:20:41for Declan
00:20:42Rice to
00:20:42deliver here
00:20:43Rice
00:20:46it's short
00:20:46to Eze
00:20:47instead
00:20:47back for
00:20:48Declan
00:20:48Rice
00:20:49angle
00:20:49for the
00:20:49cross
00:20:49here
00:20:50stood up
00:20:50nicely
00:20:51off the
00:20:52bar
00:20:52Rice again
00:20:54beaten away
00:20:55Zubumendi
00:21:00here's
00:21:04Saka
00:21:05good
00:21:06try
00:21:07Saka
00:21:07Saka
00:21:08with the
00:21:18bender
00:21:20thundered back off the crossbar rice then kept out by a sharp stop from henderson and then trosser
00:21:26was asking for handball but after a quick check they confirmed that there was nothing in it
00:21:33saka with the bender that was just wide of the upright in the end
00:21:39there's a man who knows a thing or two about it being 1-0 to the arsenal
00:21:43george graham in the house this afternoon two-time league title winner with the gunners
00:21:50rice
00:21:59calafiori
00:22:02gabrielle that's a super pass trosser onto it and a cross and gay prevents a tap in for bakayo saka
00:22:10sensational ball over the top here from gabrielle trosser's onside
00:22:20first touch just took it a bit too close to dean henderson which meant he didn't have
00:22:25a real opportunity to score himself but he very nearly teed up saka
00:22:29also have won their last four games in all competitions without conceding
00:22:35closing in on extending that run
00:22:41hughes
00:22:46one back well by zubomendi
00:22:48it's a good challenge by hughes and now star leading the counter for palace and ketia
00:22:57getting the wrong side of mosquera and into mateta
00:23:01it's the best that we've seen from palace in terms of an attacking move
00:23:04quickly forwards from ismail assar into the path of in ketia who absolutely did
00:23:09mosquera for pace here gabrielle able to get a tickle on it
00:23:17another arsenal win another clean sheet another set-piece goal
00:23:24michael arteta's machine keep on motoring arsenal one crystal palace nil
00:23:30the winning goal the moment of quality from ribera as a his first premier league goal for you
00:23:37was it written in the stars it would be against his old team probably as well and the way he
00:23:41celebrated as well uh yeah the technique is unbelievable it's a really difficult ball to make
00:23:46the contact that he's done with with that quality but yeah we needed something against a team that is
00:23:53so well organized chaotic moments are very important we find a way to to score and win again 18 19
00:23:58months ago they lost 5-0 here yeah and and it's now we are disappointed in this i love this ambition
00:24:04i love this this attitude and yes that doesn't mean that we're winning every single game in the
00:24:09premier league and it's just uh where we are at the moment but i love that nobody is is now laying back
00:24:17and say oh it's all good it was a good tight game and we were competitive and it's all good no the
00:24:22performance was good and now yeah we want to improve we know how difficult it is i mean we suffer
00:24:27every week to win football matches in this league and you see the results every single week so yeah
00:24:33it's going to be a long run let's try to go back again just finally though consistency is one thing
00:24:37that you need to have belief is another is belief high right now given the way things are going yes
00:24:42especially winning helps and winning and competing the way we are competing obviously the emotional state
00:24:47is really high but a lot of things to improve and get better well they are looking to improve what
00:24:53they have got in contrast to manchester city is a range of goal scorers their last nine goals have
00:24:59been scored by nine different players the most recent of which of course ibera eza against his former
00:25:05club crystal palace what isn't a surprise theo it was a well-worked set piece we're talking set pieces
00:25:11again right yeah of course i mean it's all down to the delivery of course it comes down to this but
00:25:16when you have players that are willing to affect the game and to actually go for the ball and not be afraid of
00:25:22it we've seen it in numbers and numbers of times that's the second ball as a the skill the quality
00:25:27i can talk about however i want to just pick out walton here who i think is outstanding going forward
00:25:32however in this position here you need to position yourself side on and see as a sense danger he doesn't
00:25:38sense danger it's probably one weakness he has many strengths but about the finish itself is incredible
00:25:43and it is the game changer should we just say and as a is a player that he's made for arsenal he really
00:25:50is but the set piece is all about the delivery declan rice his delivery has been incredible and
00:25:56of course you look at the the stats there the the open plays the one factor they would want to improve
00:26:01however arsenal at this moment in time are winning games in all kinds of different ways they've got
00:26:06loads of different patterns and they can so consistent with the players they want to try and
00:26:11target and gabriel is the main threat and is this the kind of game that that that kind of ability from
00:26:16set pieces was was made for one of those games that's post the european fixtures in midweek when
00:26:21neither side are really playing at their their best in terms of open play is that when the set pieces
00:26:26come into their own well palace didn't score it's the first time they've scored this season against
00:26:30the team and arsenal of course understand their danger they caused them problems last year i think
00:26:35these are the games last year arsenal dropped you know westland fulham and palace they you know dropped
00:26:40seven points so these are the games where essentially it comes down to uh with the set piece side of
00:26:45things but look arsenal at this moment in time have not many weaknesses and they just get through
00:26:50games without performing well wasn't the best game to to see today they love defending they just love
00:26:54defending even the the attackers now don't they they all love it they enjoy it it's amazing yeah
00:26:58because michael arteta said that they're suffering to get through games does he mean that they're
00:27:03they're working hard that they're putting themselves through it danny yeah i think he means all of
00:27:07them as a collective are really pushing their limits to make sure they defend so well and limit other
00:27:12teams from doing it i mean these stats are phenomenal really um they it you work on it in
00:27:19training but you need to have a group of players on board with it and that means the ones who are
00:27:23disappointed they didn't play midweek and now they're playing saturday or the ones who are coming off the
00:27:27bench at 64 68 minutes when they need the same intensity i mean martin has been a great example of
00:27:32coming off the bench this season doing lots of good things yeah when you when you have a foundation like
00:27:40that you can afford not to score that many goals and the other thing for hustle as well the players
00:27:44they've got to come back you know they've got players who are going to come back and give more
00:27:48competition for places and when you get more competition you get a higher level of performance
00:27:53it's it's sad worrying to be honest yeah and a way and a way for them to keep everybody fresh as
00:27:58well as they head into the the end of the season and taking advantage of course of liverpool
00:28:02and manchester city dropping points with defeats this week now wolves launched a whatsapp channel this week
00:28:08maybe fortunately for them fans can't message back because they're bottom of the table and without
00:28:12a win they faced burnley who'd yet to pick up any points away from home vicky sparks was at molyneux
00:28:19it's exactly six months since wolves last won a premier league game a 3-0 victory over leicester here
00:28:28how desperately they need a win this afternoon to lift the misery at molyneux
00:28:34kiana hooper back from a knee injury makes his first start since august with john rickner belgaard
00:28:40also coming in joao gomez drops to the bench with matt doverty left out entirely after netting in
00:28:48burnley's victory over leeds which ended a six game winless run leslie ugachuku is looking to
00:28:54score for the third game running he starts again as scott parker names an unchanged side
00:28:59nyle foster who missed the last game with a knock is back on the bench
00:29:06well if wolves fail to win here this afternoon they will become only the third team in top flight
00:29:13history to go winless in their opening nine games in back-to-back seasons
00:29:18well this was this by bueno and andre back there helping out as well well nice bit of skill but not
00:29:29when it bisects two of your teammates
00:29:36and it puts the early pressure back on wolves
00:29:39cullen's effort was a very good one indeed beaten away by johnston
00:29:47oh he caught this so sweetly josh cullen would have been a super goal
00:29:52both sides are looking dangerous
00:30:04oh fleming could be in here takes it first time
00:30:10his first premier league goal and didn't he take it quite beautifully
00:30:16what a beautiful ball this is from hartman
00:30:22and to take that first time and steer it into the bottom corner
00:30:28what confidence what composure what's a finish
00:30:34plenty to ponder once again for vito pereira
00:30:37nice ball by walker frustration around molyneux because look at the space that jayden anthony had
00:30:47there brun larsen cullen feels like an inevitability about bernie's play at the moment hartman fleming
00:30:57and you could see it coming and so could molyneux two for zean fleming
00:31:03two for burnley and the woes of wolverhampton wanderers continue
00:31:11it's just too easy for burnley hartman involved again
00:31:17setting up fleming once more and the atmosphere here at molyneux has turned very nasty indeed
00:31:25you're not fit to wear the shirt that is what the wolves fans are singing to their own side
00:31:33so important you feel for wolves to get a goal back before half time
00:31:39just shift the atmosphere ever so slightly if they can at molyneux
00:31:43bueno stayed back all down penalty appeal and it's given
00:31:51and wolves do have their potential way back into this game before the break
00:31:56there was contact and the penalty stands
00:32:03it's jürgen stran larsen for wolves
00:32:09very calmly done indeed
00:32:11and wolves are back in this game since dubravka the wrong way how they needed that
00:32:26well there is a sliver of hope to hold on to
00:32:31but once again they are not happy with the majority of what they've seen this afternoon
00:32:39bell guard twisting and turning it's done really well
00:32:46i might fancy it here i said it is the delivery
00:32:50and nodded in
00:32:54and waltz had turned it around through marshall mannetsi
00:33:03genre in the bell guards it's a super run tenacious just kept going and mannetsi's on side
00:33:11as crazy helped it on and all of a sudden the mood does shift around molyneux
00:33:24it's a moment to support he said to believe to have faith in the team
00:33:28and his side are showing that belief he will wonder if it's all gone wrong
00:33:36he's bueno
00:33:46and into brun larsen but picked up by bell guards now he will drive
00:33:53and he wins the free kick well when he gets going he is such a handful this afternoon john rick
00:33:58the bell guard and that for burnley is the only way to stop him
00:34:08it's john arias oh brilliant effort
00:34:13and strant larsen can't complete the follow-up
00:34:18what a super strike from john arias and dubravka will be mightily relieved that the ricochet off him
00:34:25didn't end up in the back of the net it's wolves who are really pushing for a winner
00:34:32can they find a victory that might start to change their season it's bell guards he's done brilliantly
00:34:41walker away hugo bueno keeps it alive
00:34:48so many players in there to aim for it comes to bell guards
00:34:52beaten away by debravka still wolves keep it alive walker will clear
00:34:59but listen to molyneux now quang hugo bueno and blazed over by rodrigo gomez
00:35:07well it is not for want of trying in this second half wolves
00:35:19really clean sweet hit by bell guards beaten away by debravka and rodrigo gomez couldn't keep his cool
00:35:28what a difference to midway through that first half there's belief around molyneux now
00:35:36here come burnley he's there to be a late chance for them there is
00:35:46lyle foster breaks wolves hearts they cannot believe that's happened
00:36:00and he cannot believe it either and now the boos once more ring around molyneux
00:36:12they have worked so hard wolves to turn this game around but it's foster on the side
00:36:24who surely won it for burnley
00:36:26well there might yet be a chance for wolves it's santiago bueno what to say from debravka
00:36:40there was another chance for a wolves comeback and they almost took it
00:36:44a strong hand to preserve burnley's lead wolves two burnley three going two goals up and then
00:36:56losing the lead wasn't the best but yeah what way to win it in the last minute the ball came through
00:37:01like lots of things going through the mine obviously the thing i wanted to do the most was just miss the
00:37:05goalkeeper and hopefully it went in so yeah um happy that that one went in and most importantly just
00:37:12everything was on set obviously emotions were running very high at the end you went over to
00:37:18the fans as did several of the other players in the manager as well just talk us through what happened
00:37:23in that moment yeah it's not nice obviously we don't want that but at the same time it's what you
00:37:27need i think sometimes let the frustration out but we just need to believe in ourselves and what i would
00:37:33did there was just trying to listen a little bit and obviously it's not it's not a nice moment um but
00:37:38we can understand the frustration two months ago they they they they sing my name because you know
00:37:46when i arrived here the club was in that very bad position we did the fantastic work to be here
00:37:54competing in premier league but i understand i understand i understand this football i'm immensely
00:37:59proud this group this group have got something about them i've been in in our 14 months i think
00:38:03the celebration at the end of that game this is a group that are together a group that have real real
00:38:07resilience about them at times and then it gets you quite far are you concerned about your position
00:38:15no i'm concerned about the team i'm concerned about to win games this is not about me this is about the
00:38:22team about the club we signed his new deal just 38 days ago and we'll talk about wolves in a in a second
00:38:28but a big win for burnley and it's been a great season for all three promoted sides so far
00:38:34after 10 games and they've all played nine games at the moment but after 10 games teams who've had 11 or
00:38:38more points have all stayed in the premier league come the end of the season sunderland and leeds
00:38:43already there burnley only a point away from that so it's been a really good start to to life in the
00:38:48premier league for all three of those teams and zian fleming getting his chance for for burnley today
00:38:55it's great the pattern is hopefully going to change in the premier league but of course fleming last
00:38:59in the championship got you know 12 goals and this is only a second start but what i really like is
00:39:04the fact that he always wanted to get on the back of creche as well and the connection you have with
00:39:08hartman this just just admire the ball and the finish itself is incredible reminds me of van persie
00:39:13old traffic against everton i think it was but just to have the confidence to guide that in uh it's
00:39:18beautiful to see considering it's his first goal in the premier league you wouldn't have thought so
00:39:21looking at that but you can see here he he just loves to see the back of crutches shirt again
00:39:26he's isolating as well at the back and i love this the connection he has with hartman he's just
00:39:32telling him just to push up push up eager for him to get in the line of him as well which is really
00:39:37really interesting to see because he doesn't put himself in the same path as the center off and
00:39:42he's already asking for it of course he knows he's already pictured it in his mind he wants to get in
00:39:46the back back of bueno here the connection you can clearly see and there's only one space this ball
00:39:52is going to be and he's it was signs that it might have been a foul however it's just strength pure
00:39:56determination to win there and to get the goal but that's the confidence they're going to need
00:40:00need him to stay up really i think they will but look like i say they've a really big win for
00:40:06bernie today but fantastic goals both of them and what a way to get their first win away from home this
00:40:11season that late late winner when you talk about them needing confidence that's the kind of moment
00:40:17that can help to foster that yeah no it was uh it was a game where it wasn't much between them two
00:40:24however burnley worked tremendously well but what i like is foster it's the position before he's in
00:40:30offside position but he's noticed of course sure i was out of position it's the arc the run you need
00:40:36to heart the run as a forward to stay outside and the connection he has with hannibal the way to pass
00:40:40it always comes down to that but it's the finish as well i really like to see it's a it's it's a very
00:40:46different finish but for the walls perspective they rushed the decision of taking the throwing
00:40:53you can see here the players are not in position you have eight players in a confined space when
00:41:00you're in the last few minutes of the game you're trying to get a result and just get a draw
00:41:03hannibal is isolated on his own he's recognized that if the ball comes out to him he's going to
00:41:08create something out of nothing and the goal sets for itself but i love here he does with mesut
00:41:14ozil i used to train with myself back in the day and play over he used to do these stab finishes
00:41:19you see it clear here danny's not so sure if he's meant to do it so much no however i'll give him
00:41:25the benefit you know better than me it's it's a smart finish because it's one of those he's either
00:41:30mishit it or he's done them as ozil put it that way but look it was a fantastic and ozil they've got a
00:41:34chance haven't they this season they have and uh look i think you can just see there the connections
00:41:38they have the the energy that scott passes parker's creating i think they've got a good chance it's
00:41:43really amazing as well for wolves because they when when you're down the bottom it's like every
00:41:47little bit of bad luck goes for you to hit the crossbar off the free kick the keeper makes a
00:41:50wonderful save in the last minute nothing's going for them and they managed to get themselves back to
00:41:55two all having been two nil down in in the game and so the frustration was really spilling over from
00:42:00the crowd from the players as they went over there were some tense words between the the manager and and
00:42:06some of the players because i know they've they've been in this situation before at the beginning of
00:42:10last season but they've now lost to all three promoted sides and as well as they've all done
00:42:15this season it it's not happy reading for wolves well it was a remarkable comeback last season which
00:42:20of course he masterminded hence the fact he was having a few pints with the fans by the end of the
00:42:25season um it's it's to ask him to do it again or ask this team to do it again is is a huge ask and
00:42:32i really worry for them because um they look so wide open and conceding so many goals but it's
00:42:37going to be and i wouldn't say a miracle but it's a huge task for a team that's lost its best players
00:42:45sean dych was a youth team player at nottingham forest but he never made it into the first team
00:42:5035 years later he's back as manager after replacing ang postocoglu opponents bournemouth were unbeaten in
00:42:57seven chris wise was at the vitality stadium there's been a few sleepless nights at nottingham forest
00:43:04recently you don't need to turn the clocks back that far if you want to see what's changed it really
00:43:10is dych saving time at forest now they begin the day in the bottom three bournemouth can reclaim a
00:43:16spot in the top three serbian center half velko milisavlovich makes only his second premier league start
00:43:23the forest team contains seven players that started ang postocoglu's final game against chelsea
00:43:28but it's a solitary change from the side that brought sean dych his first win against porto
00:43:34olexander zinchenko is injured so nikolo savona is in at right back
00:43:42warmup unbeaten right now in seven in the premier league since that defeat to liverpool on
00:43:47the opening night they are the team with the longest unbeaten run in the league right now
00:43:53semenyo
00:43:56looks white got a little bit on it got some adoy a little bit more and
00:44:00alex scott has actually injured callum Hudson adoy but bournemouth will go on
00:44:05tavernier that was traveling not just the first save from that cells a very significant stop as well
00:44:12to see from the reaction of the nottingham forest goalkeeper that he was pleased to have got to that
00:44:18it's in the forest in a back four again which was i imagine for some of those involved a
00:44:25a real pleasure to be in a system that they know well having had things slightly ripped up by ang
00:44:30postocoglu tavernier retrieved by scott's stopped by elliot anderson who then got his feet in a muddle
00:44:37and scott's taking it away from him
00:44:41savona's clearance and he needed to do something decisive with it with two
00:44:45bournemouth players around him true fair lifting it back in the strike from cliver
00:44:52now semenyo and sells with another save that one with his legs
00:44:57it's been kept honest by bournemouth in the first eight minutes matt cells and that nottingham forest goal
00:45:02forest manager number three of the season this is the earliest in any premier league campaign that
00:45:09a cover on to their third permanent manager jimenez tavernier on the move again
00:45:18that bounce off the bournemouth man it is going to be a corner
00:45:23williams pleading for the decision to go the other way
00:45:27it's been very sharp marcus tavernier so far that was a decent block by williams on in there
00:45:34he's going to try and cause them some concerns from a corner as well here
00:45:40tavernier right on top of cells and all the way in
00:45:45straight from the corner marcus tavernier for bournemouth
00:45:48somewhere in there cells lost sight of that from the left boot of marcus tavernier
00:45:56well tyler adams is stood next to matt cells
00:46:02but he's barely touched the nottingham forest goalkeeper it's just a
00:46:06a bit of presence really and cells wasn't bold enough to push him out the way to come and get the ball
00:46:12should they have had a corner in the first place ballman that's what nottingham forest will ask
00:46:18of course
00:46:24cliver
00:46:26milliqe nia crupie up against murillo
00:46:28tavernier offering the support and that's scott and that's a good save by cells
00:46:35it's destined for the bottom corner from alex scott and that cells with a a personal reprieve
00:46:48Elliot Anderson fouling Tyler Adams
00:46:51but Bournemouth with the ball
00:46:52Junior Kruppi with the ball
00:46:54Junior Kruppi with the goal
00:46:56Another weekend of Premier League football
00:47:01Another sparkly moment for the young Frenchman
00:47:05Lely Junior Kruppi's got
00:47:08three Premier League goals in
00:47:11just over a week
00:47:13that was very sweet indeed
00:47:16this teenager is having a serious impact
00:47:20in this Bournemouth team at the moment
00:47:21in the absence of Eva Nielsen
00:47:23ran at Milenkovic who didn't engage
00:47:26slightly diverted the ball in the direction of Murillo
00:47:30who also stood off
00:47:31and then cracked a brilliant shot past Sells
00:47:34it's a lovely lovely hit
00:47:37and Bournemouth are 2-0 up against Nottingham Forest
00:47:40but what are we going to see different
00:47:44from Nottingham Forest in this second half fight
00:47:46noted that there were more than a few Forest fans
00:47:49at half time saying that that first 45 minutes is
00:47:52as bad as any performance under Ange Postakoglu
00:47:55Forest have it again with Gibbs White
00:47:58this is Hutchinson
00:48:00Gibbs White
00:48:03great save Petrovic
00:48:05well Forest haven't really made it work today
00:48:10but Morgan Gibbs White did there
00:48:12that was bending into the corner
00:48:14Antoni Areola's contract up at the end of the season
00:48:19and the Bournemouth chairman and owner Bill Foley has flown in today
00:48:24to have a conversation with Antoni Areola about getting some income paper and extending that deal
00:48:31Gibbs White
00:48:33Murillo can't get to that
00:48:34it was really awkward
00:48:36it's Brooks for Bournemouth
00:48:37and still Brooks
00:48:40and still David Brooks
00:48:42and at the end of it all
00:48:43not the fancy finale that
00:48:45the Cherries fans were hoping was going to come
00:48:49Gibbs White
00:48:49overplaying the pass to Murillo
00:48:51and then it had everybody
00:48:53the Forest pitch on retreat
00:48:55into the final two minutes
00:48:59swept by Anderson to Hutchinson
00:49:03who curls one in towards Awanir
00:49:05towering again the young Serbian
00:49:08Milo Savljevic
00:49:09and Bournemouth
00:49:11offers such a danger in positions like this
00:49:13off goes Semenho
00:49:14and there's plenty up with him left by Christy
00:49:17picked up by Brooks
00:49:19back to Christy
00:49:20it's all too much
00:49:21didn't need to do that
00:49:22could have just finished that off himself
00:49:25I mean had Brooks been close and put that in the back of the net
00:49:28that would have been one of the goals of the season
00:49:29one last chance maybe for Forest
00:49:34Bournemouth want the clean sheet now
00:49:36Bournemouth get the win
00:49:39and they get that clean sheet
00:49:40comfortable
00:49:41and relatively comprehensive
00:49:45from the Cherries today
00:49:46who have elevated themselves
00:49:49up to second
00:49:50in the Premier League table
00:49:52and when are we going to start
00:49:55seriously suggesting
00:49:56that this Bournemouth team
00:49:57are destined for European football
00:49:59Bournemouth 2
00:50:01Nottingham Forest 0
00:50:03Second Bournemouth in the Premier League table
00:50:06what a remarkable achievement
00:50:07you can understand maybe why the fans
00:50:09are dreaming of something big
00:50:10no definitely it's a very good start of the season
00:50:13but it's just the start
00:50:14this season
00:50:15differences between teams are so small
00:50:18now we have City away
00:50:21and Billy away straight away before the break
00:50:23so it's going to be difficult for us
00:50:25to add more points
00:50:26but we have to try
00:50:27Have you scored from a corner before?
00:50:29I don't think I've ever scored a corner before
00:50:30and I'm not going to lie and say I meant it
00:50:33and all that
00:50:33I mean it's just
00:50:34a great job from Tyler Adams
00:50:36to block the keeper
00:50:37and luckily enough it's gone to the back of the net
00:50:38there's a lot of work to be done
00:50:39we've got players injured
00:50:40who have been very good players
00:50:42over the last couple of seasons
00:50:43certainly last season
00:50:44and we've got to get them fit
00:50:46we've got to get the group fitter
00:50:47in my way
00:50:48I must make that clear
00:50:49I'm not questioning other managers
00:50:50in my style
00:50:50so we know we've got to work with that
00:50:52but we've only got so many opportunities
00:50:53because of the amounts of games we've got
00:50:55so
00:50:55a lot to look forward to
00:50:57with the progress
00:50:57but a lot of work to be done as well
00:50:59The owner and chairman
00:51:00Bill Foley was here today
00:51:01we're told that he primarily
00:51:03has come over to talk to you
00:51:04about a new deal
00:51:05have you had a conversation with him yet?
00:51:07Yeah we've talked a lot
00:51:08I told him that he has to come more times
00:51:10every time he comes
00:51:10I think we feel like
00:51:12we've had a good result
00:51:13and I think it's good for the atmosphere
00:51:15and we have a really good relationship
00:51:17and there's going to be time
00:51:20to talk now
00:51:20and we just start the decision
00:51:23Andoni Areola has a very strong hand to play
00:51:26in those potential contract negotiations
00:51:29contract extension negotiations
00:51:31I want to ask you though
00:51:32about Tyler Adams and Alex Scott
00:51:34because they signed on the same day
00:51:36they paid big money for them
00:51:37but since then
00:51:38this is the third season
00:51:39they've played together
00:51:40they've only had 13 starts together
00:51:43how well did they work in this performance?
00:51:46Well they were brilliant together
00:51:47and they've both suffered injuries actually
00:51:48there's a lot to admire about Bournemouth
00:51:50recruitment, the energy
00:51:52the creativity
00:51:53the freedom they play with
00:51:55this was early in the game
00:51:56from Alex Scott there
00:51:57he wasn't losing that first tackle
00:51:59setting the tone
00:52:00very important
00:52:01because
00:52:02a lot of Bournemouth's attacks
00:52:05stem from winning the ball back
00:52:06and then jumping out of position early
00:52:08and really going at teams
00:52:09with their pace
00:52:10we've
00:52:12given plaudits
00:52:14for the last couple of months
00:52:15to Semenya, Cliver
00:52:16Evan Nielsen
00:52:18rightly so
00:52:18they're forward players
00:52:19who do so much damage
00:52:20but
00:52:21these two are starting to
00:52:22build up a really nice partnership
00:52:24that was
00:52:24Scott there
00:52:25getting into forward positions
00:52:27putting a nice cross in
00:52:28Adams is really tenacious
00:52:30he's very clever
00:52:31at nicking the ball
00:52:32and putting himself in
00:52:34good positions
00:52:35to win the ball back
00:52:36from the opposition
00:52:36without getting constantly
00:52:38carded
00:52:39and making silly fouls
00:52:40he doesn't dive in
00:52:41he waits
00:52:42he's patient with his defending
00:52:43really well disciplined
00:52:44and
00:52:45they just seem to understand
00:52:48each other really nicely
00:52:49I mean we talk about
00:52:50partnerships a lot
00:52:51in teams
00:52:51and it's really key
00:52:53to get success
00:52:53when you really enjoy
00:52:55playing with someone
00:52:55next to you
00:52:56generally it's Scott
00:52:57like there
00:52:58with the shot
00:52:58that gets forward
00:52:59and tends to
00:53:00be the one more creative
00:53:01that's another super tackle
00:53:02from him on the edge
00:53:03of the box
00:53:04that sets
00:53:05Bournemouth away
00:53:06for another attack
00:53:07and this is the patience
00:53:10I'm talking about
00:53:10from Adams
00:53:11just waiting
00:53:12to jump in
00:53:12and nip in
00:53:13good advantage
00:53:15from the referee
00:53:15and Kruppi
00:53:17is coming to the team
00:53:19another brilliant finish
00:53:21Bournemouth are just
00:53:23they've got to be
00:53:25everybody's
00:53:25second favourite team
00:53:27they're great to watch
00:53:28and they're playing
00:53:29with a freedom
00:53:30that excites the fans
00:53:32and excites everyone
00:53:33who watches them
00:53:34and we love a goal
00:53:35scored directly
00:53:36from a corner
00:53:37but Marcus Tavernier
00:53:38said he's not going
00:53:39to claim that he
00:53:39fully intended
00:53:40to do that
00:53:41but there was also
00:53:42a little bit
00:53:43of controversy
00:53:44around it
00:53:45as to first of all
00:53:46whether it should
00:53:47even have been a corner
00:53:47yes
00:53:48I think it's
00:53:50it wasn't as clear
00:53:51to the official
00:53:52however
00:53:53yes it comes
00:53:54off Tavernier
00:53:55you can see
00:53:56by all reaction
00:53:57you can see here
00:53:57clearly it comes
00:53:58off Tavernier
00:53:58so there's no
00:53:59arguing or debating
00:54:00that
00:54:00it's definitely
00:54:01a should be goal kick
00:54:02simple as that
00:54:03however
00:54:04and that's what
00:54:04Sean Dyche was
00:54:05most annoyed about
00:54:06in his post-match
00:54:07I get it
00:54:08but wouldn't it
00:54:08just be great
00:54:09if he said
00:54:09yes I did go for it
00:54:10and was there
00:54:11a foul on sale
00:54:11I don't think so
00:54:12I think the keepers
00:54:13need to be strong
00:54:13in that position
00:54:14I always tell the kids
00:54:16actually not to shoot
00:54:16at grassroots level
00:54:17corners
00:54:18I change my mind
00:54:19now shoot for corners
00:54:19why not
00:54:20if you can do that
00:54:21in the Premier League
00:54:21you can do it
00:54:21at grassroots level
00:54:22but look
00:54:23I just think
00:54:24look at Bournemouth
00:54:24as well
00:54:25the youngest team
00:54:25to represent the Premier League
00:54:27this year
00:54:27it's fantastic
00:54:28so brilliant
00:54:29yeah Marcus Tavernier
00:54:30I think giving us
00:54:30a little bit of a hint
00:54:31with his reaction there
00:54:32now Everton
00:54:34were unbeaten
00:54:35at their new
00:54:35Hill Dickinson Stadium
00:54:37Spurs had the best
00:54:38away record
00:54:39in the league
00:54:39commentary comes
00:54:40from Martin Fisher
00:54:41Everton's unbeaten
00:54:44start to life
00:54:45in their fantastic
00:54:46new home
00:54:47comes under
00:54:48serious threat today
00:54:49Tottenham yet to lose
00:54:51on the road
00:54:51under Thomas Frank
00:54:52winning three of their
00:54:53four away games
00:54:54in the Premier League
00:54:55having been forced
00:54:58to sit out
00:54:58last week's defeat
00:54:59against parent club
00:55:01Manchester City
00:55:01as expected
00:55:03Jack Grealish returns
00:55:04Carlos Alcaraz
00:55:06is the man
00:55:06who makes way
00:55:07Spurs show
00:55:08two changes
00:55:09from the team
00:55:09that began
00:55:10against Villa
00:55:11a week ago
00:55:12a full debut
00:55:13for Randall Colomuani
00:55:14and a first league
00:55:16start in two months
00:55:17for Brennan Johnson
00:55:18Tottenham only a point
00:55:21better off
00:55:21than they were
00:55:22at this stage
00:55:23last season
00:55:23the wheels
00:55:25came off
00:55:26last December
00:55:27for
00:55:27Ange Postacoglu
00:55:29and Jai
00:55:32against Spence
00:55:33taking on
00:55:38the England man
00:55:39and he's got a
00:55:40cross in
00:55:40Beto missed it
00:55:41here's Grealish
00:55:42Pedro Porro in the way
00:55:45Tewsbury Hall
00:55:46has a swing
00:55:46and is well wide
00:55:47well a wonderful
00:55:49early opportunity
00:55:50there for Everton
00:55:51Grealish denied
00:55:53and Jai who has been
00:55:55full of confidence
00:55:56in recent weeks
00:55:57skinning Jed Spence
00:55:59Beto missed it
00:56:00Grealish had a blast
00:56:01and Tottenham get a bit
00:56:03fortunate
00:56:03Pedro Porro
00:56:04in the way
00:56:05there's Mouani
00:56:07haven't seen much of him
00:56:08in the opening
00:56:0970 minutes or so
00:56:10but he's taking on
00:56:11Tarkovsky
00:56:11who recovers brilliantly
00:56:13this was great
00:56:15stuff from Mouani
00:56:16but an equally impressive
00:56:18recovery
00:56:19by the Everton
00:56:20defender
00:56:21first corner of the game
00:56:23Mohamed Kudas
00:56:25to take
00:56:25Pickford can't get to it
00:56:29Pentancur arriving
00:56:31and Van Der Ven heads home
00:56:32and Tottenham have the lead
00:56:34Kudas inevitably involved
00:56:37Pickford furious
00:56:39about what went on
00:56:41and Van Der Ven
00:56:42knocks home
00:56:43from a few yards out
00:56:44he might well have been
00:56:46the man that impedes
00:56:47Pickford initially
00:56:48Pickford out of the picture
00:56:50he's in no man's land
00:56:52as Van Der Ven
00:56:53nods it in
00:56:54the AR check
00:56:56has concluded
00:56:57that the goal stands
00:56:58Garner
00:57:03worth a hit
00:57:05so it's a good save
00:57:06by Vacario
00:57:06that's a really good effort
00:57:09from James Garner
00:57:10this bend on it
00:57:12it might have just been
00:57:14creeping in at that
00:57:15near post
00:57:15Vacario in no mood
00:57:17to take any risks
00:57:18Dewisbury Hall
00:57:20with it
00:57:20O'Brien
00:57:23it's 1-1
00:57:25a powerful header
00:57:27and Vacario
00:57:28had no answer to it
00:57:30Tottenham have complained
00:57:32BAR are checking
00:57:33because Vacario impeded
00:57:36and Giant Gurdish
00:57:37were next to him
00:57:38seeing the meat
00:57:39and the sandwich
00:57:40they have
00:57:43impacted
00:57:44Vacario's ability
00:57:45to get
00:57:46to O'Brien's header
00:57:47after review
00:57:50Everton 10
00:57:52and 18
00:57:53was in an offside position
00:57:55interfering with the goalkeeper
00:57:58so the goal is disallowed
00:58:01Everton feel that
00:58:03their goalkeeper
00:58:04was thwarted
00:58:05when Spurs
00:58:06scored their goal
00:58:07and then the irony
00:58:08that when the Spurs
00:58:10goalkeeper
00:58:11was equally impeded
00:58:13Everton's equaliser
00:58:14was disallowed
00:58:15and Giant
00:58:18dangerous ball in
00:58:20this time
00:58:21Van der Van
00:58:21hasn't dealt with it
00:58:22and it almost
00:58:23came off his left boot
00:58:25and buried itself
00:58:26in the bottom corner
00:58:27maybe Beto
00:58:28made a better attempt
00:58:30to get himself to it
00:58:31Johnson
00:58:37steps inside
00:58:40Mikelenko
00:58:41good person
00:58:42of pace
00:58:42and works the corner
00:58:44off Grealish
00:58:44could have
00:58:50with this corner
00:58:51kick
00:58:51there's going to be
00:58:57another corner
00:58:58this is Tottenham's
00:59:04sixth corner
00:59:04as we go into
00:59:06the last minute
00:59:06of Aded at the end
00:59:07of this first half
00:59:08oh it's 2-0
00:59:11and it's that man
00:59:12again
00:59:13Van der Van
00:59:14two for him
00:59:16in an afternoon
00:59:17on Merseyside
00:59:18well Everton
00:59:21again
00:59:22failed to deal
00:59:24with this
00:59:24wicked corner
00:59:25magnificent delivery
00:59:28from Pedro Poro
00:59:29defensively
00:59:30leaves a lot
00:59:32to be desired
00:59:32from an Everton
00:59:33point of view
00:59:33and Miki van der Van
00:59:35is on a hat-trick
00:59:36Everton
00:59:39needing at least
00:59:40two goals
00:59:41to get anything
00:59:41from this game
00:59:42and an unbeaten
00:59:43home record
00:59:44under serious threat
00:59:45Garner's cross
00:59:48and went
00:59:49and Giant
00:59:50is not far wide
00:59:51so no early route
00:59:53back into this game
00:59:54in the second half
00:59:56for Everton
00:59:57Frewsbury Hall
01:00:00Spence nods clear
01:00:03and Jai
01:00:05Riggles past
01:00:08Xavi Simmonds
01:00:09it's Beto
01:00:09what a save
01:00:11Vicaria
01:00:11his first real test
01:00:14of the afternoon
01:00:15and the Italian
01:00:16was equal to it
01:00:17good effort
01:00:19from Beto
01:00:20in the end
01:00:21great athleticism
01:00:22from him
01:00:22and it's almost
01:00:23past Vicaria
01:00:24before he
01:00:25swings that left arm
01:00:26to pour it away
01:00:27Njai
01:00:31trying to work
01:00:36something with Barry
01:00:37he's got Grealish
01:00:38far left
01:00:39back for Njai
01:00:42couple of deflections
01:00:44and another really good
01:00:46reflex stop
01:00:46by Vicaria
01:00:47well Njai
01:00:49didn't get hold
01:00:50of that
01:00:50as sweetly
01:00:51as he would have
01:00:52liked to
01:00:53but it was
01:00:53still
01:00:54heading into
01:00:55the bottom corner
01:00:56checking that near post
01:01:01Keane can't reach it
01:01:02Vicaria
01:01:02pushes clear
01:01:04in goes Gray
01:01:05clumsy changes
01:01:06from Kudus
01:01:07nothing from the referee
01:01:09as yet
01:01:09but six and two threes
01:01:16isn't it really
01:01:17both players just kind of
01:01:18running into each other
01:01:19the rain teeming down now
01:01:22matching Everton's mood
01:01:25Ril
01:01:28straight to Bergwahl
01:01:29on to Saar
01:01:35and Joe Porro
01:01:38crossing the halfway line
01:01:39he's looking for
01:01:43Richarlison
01:01:44and he's found him
01:01:45and here's Saar
01:01:46and it's 3-0 Tottenham
01:01:48he's not been on the pitch
01:01:51very long
01:01:51but was in the right
01:01:54position
01:01:54to complete
01:01:55Tottenham's latest
01:01:56away success
01:01:57very effective
01:02:00counter-attack
01:02:00so unselfish
01:02:03from Richarlison
01:02:05and it's an emphatic
01:02:083-0 victory
01:02:09for Tottenham
01:02:10and Everton's
01:02:12first
01:02:13home defeat
01:02:14at their new
01:02:15Hill Dickinson Stadium
01:02:17Everton 0
01:02:18Tottenham 3
01:02:19perfect illustration
01:02:23today about the
01:02:23importance of set pieces
01:02:25in both penalty areas
01:02:26I think
01:02:27set pieces
01:02:28is so crucial
01:02:30we all see it
01:02:31there's more and more
01:02:32focus on it
01:02:32right now
01:02:33Arsenal's on track
01:02:34for the title
01:02:35on set pieces
01:02:36so it's a key area
01:02:38and I said
01:02:39from the beginning
01:02:40when we came in
01:02:41we wanted to really
01:02:42focus hard on it
01:02:43both boxes
01:02:44because that can
01:02:45decide football matches
01:02:45and today it did
01:02:46didn't feel like a 3-0
01:02:48to me
01:02:48how disappointed are you
01:02:49with the final outcome
01:02:50well it wasn't a 3-0
01:02:52but it ended up 3-0
01:02:53because we
01:02:53didn't defend our set pieces
01:02:55well enough today
01:02:55in the main we've been
01:02:56pretty good at defending
01:02:57set pieces
01:02:58so today was a bit
01:02:59of a kick in the
01:03:01you know what
01:03:01it looked briefly
01:03:03as though you'd
01:03:04pulled an equaliser
01:03:05very quickly out of the
01:03:05bag and then it's
01:03:07disallowed by VAR
01:03:08what are your thoughts
01:03:09on that situation?
01:03:10since I've seen it
01:03:11I would probably agree
01:03:12that it was an offside
01:03:13I think if it had been
01:03:15the other way around
01:03:16it was us
01:03:17I would be claiming
01:03:17it was an offside goal
01:03:18so yeah
01:03:19I think they got it right
01:03:20I think today is an
01:03:21important win again
01:03:22and now we turn in the league
01:03:23and we've seen the league
01:03:24also it's really tight
01:03:25everybody is beating
01:03:26everyone at the moment
01:03:27so yeah it's really tight
01:03:28so you have to perform
01:03:29every weekend
01:03:30so it's a really big
01:03:30big three points
01:03:31Mickey van der Ven
01:03:32with two goals
01:03:33yes I'm very happy with that
01:03:35I've been a little bit
01:03:35after him
01:03:36because when we stepped
01:03:37into the club
01:03:38I think he scored
01:03:39one header in his whole career
01:03:40so we really worked
01:03:43hard on that
01:03:44Mickey worked hard on it
01:03:45and now he's scored
01:03:46three headers
01:03:46two today
01:03:47it's very good
01:03:48two goals
01:03:50more set pieces
01:03:51for you to talk about
01:03:52Theo
01:03:52but of course
01:03:53we're going to talk
01:03:53about set pieces
01:03:54in a Thomas Frank side
01:03:55yeah
01:03:56we're looking at
01:03:58teams that
01:03:59obviously do it
01:04:00really well
01:04:00in North London
01:04:01of course
01:04:01and now we're looking
01:04:02at the other side
01:04:03of Tottenham
01:04:04and what's really
01:04:05fascinating is
01:04:06Benzincourt
01:04:07it's all about delivery
01:04:08but if van der Ven
01:04:09puts himself in position
01:04:10for O'Brien
01:04:11and it's pure strength
01:04:12desire
01:04:12and hunger to win it
01:04:14and you can see
01:04:15here he's icing himself
01:04:16with Grealish
01:04:17and his mindset
01:04:18is just to disrupt
01:04:20the goalkeeper
01:04:20without doing too much
01:04:21and I think that's
01:04:22the important key
01:04:24to not do too much
01:04:25to make it obvious
01:04:26and it's a good goal
01:04:28it's a good finish
01:04:28it's a fantastic finish
01:04:29and it's a factor
01:04:30that happens this season
01:04:33again there
01:04:33you can see
01:04:34just does a little bit
01:04:35to put off the keeper
01:04:36and I feel like
01:04:37keepers need to be stronger
01:04:38in these positions
01:04:38as well
01:04:39but van der Ven
01:04:39fantastic in the air
01:04:40if you're going to put
01:04:41players in a position
01:04:42that are hunger
01:04:43and want to desire
01:04:44to win these
01:04:44you're going to
01:04:46obviously create chances
01:04:47and it worked today
01:04:48for Tottenham
01:04:48yeah it worked for Tottenham
01:04:50and look at the change
01:04:51in the numbers for them
01:04:53for set pieces
01:04:54and that comes down
01:04:55to hard work
01:04:56on the training ground
01:04:58it does
01:04:58Thomas Frank
01:05:00worked with Nikola Jova
01:05:01at Arsenal
01:05:02of course at Brentford
01:05:03of course
01:05:03and so he's really big
01:05:05into a set piece
01:05:05and it's a big factor
01:05:06this season
01:05:07of course it is
01:05:07it's a trend
01:05:08that's happening
01:05:08but look
01:05:09it's another weapon
01:05:10to the arsenary
01:05:12so really good to see
01:05:13really good to see
01:05:14in a season
01:05:14in which set pieces
01:05:15are proving to be
01:05:16extremely important
01:05:17in this season
01:05:18then it's going to be
01:05:19a big plus
01:05:20for Tottenham
01:05:20going forward
01:05:21Everton felt
01:05:22that their goal
01:05:23was harshly disallowed
01:05:26what do you think
01:05:27I think in the moment
01:05:27they did
01:05:28I mean listening
01:05:28to David Moyes there
01:05:29he's obviously
01:05:30watched it back
01:05:31and feels like
01:05:31we feel
01:05:32that it was
01:05:33the right decision
01:05:33it looks fine
01:05:36when you see it
01:05:36in real time
01:05:37like most goals do
01:05:38so when you break it
01:05:39similar set up
01:05:40actually
01:05:40the players
01:05:41at the back post
01:05:41coming to that near
01:05:43but
01:05:43when it
01:05:45when O'Brien heads it
01:05:47two Everton players
01:05:49are right near
01:05:50the goalkeeper
01:05:50so when you watch it back
01:05:51it doesn't have to be
01:05:52a foul
01:05:52because they're offside
01:05:53are they
01:05:54impacting him
01:05:55from making a save
01:05:58and you have to say
01:05:59yes they are
01:06:00so I think again
01:06:01the right decision
01:06:02and I don't think
01:06:05Everton can really
01:06:05complain them
01:06:06I think if it was
01:06:07real contention
01:06:08Moyes would have said it
01:06:09Everton had a little
01:06:10go taken off
01:06:11they weren't great today
01:06:12Tottenham did a
01:06:13professional job
01:06:14especially after a
01:06:15tough game in Europe
01:06:15midweek
01:06:16and they've put together
01:06:17a really good run of form
01:06:19Tottenham
01:06:19particularly away from home
01:06:21they're top of the table
01:06:23in terms of away form
01:06:25is the style of play
01:06:26that they've adopted
01:06:27under Thomas Frank
01:06:28more suited actually
01:06:29to playing away from home
01:06:30a little bit yeah
01:06:31which is obvious
01:06:31because really
01:06:32last year they conceded
01:06:33so many goals
01:06:34so easy to play against
01:06:35the first thing he's done
01:06:36he's got through the door
01:06:37and gone we're going to
01:06:37be more difficult
01:06:38to play against
01:06:39the other great thing
01:06:40he's got
01:06:40although it's a tad
01:06:41pragmatic at times
01:06:42at the moment
01:06:42which is fine
01:06:43so it's getting them
01:06:44results
01:06:45the players they've got
01:06:46to come back
01:06:47when you think of
01:06:47Kulishevsky
01:06:48when you think of
01:06:49Solanke
01:06:49when you think of
01:06:50Madison
01:06:50and just to name a few
01:06:52all of a sudden
01:06:53the creativity can come
01:06:54but it can only come
01:06:55when they've got
01:06:56the base right
01:06:58and it's stable
01:06:59well let's put today's
01:07:00results into context
01:07:02here's the rest of the
01:07:02weekend's goals
01:07:03Vogel's ball in
01:07:08and Okafor's head up

01:07:31it's in

01:08:00big chance
01:08:03oh it's up the bar

01:08:32oh and he's
01:08:33squeezed in
01:08:34home as well
01:08:34oh it's a fabulous
01:08:38strike from
01:08:39Welbeck
01:08:40and they've got
01:08:45what
01:08:453-2
01:08:46and Waymo
01:08:49to make
01:08:51absolutely
01:08:51sure
01:08:52comes away
01:08:55from the near
01:08:56post now
01:08:56it's aimed in
01:08:57behind him
01:08:57it's a chance
01:08:58it's a goal
01:08:58and Brentford
01:08:59leads to Dango
01:09:00Tara
01:09:01could Brentford

01:09:06Brentford
01:09:07ready to get
01:09:10the cross
01:09:11in
01:09:11it's loose
01:09:12and Liverpool
01:09:12have a stoppage
01:09:14time
01:09:14goal

01:09:14Kerkhez
01:09:15with his
01:09:15first Liverpool
01:09:16goal
01:09:16Tara's foul
01:09:19right on the edge
01:09:19of the penalty
01:09:20and Liverpool
01:09:20feud
01:09:21my final decision
01:09:22is penalty
01:09:23he got Thiago
01:09:26straight down
01:09:27the middle
01:09:27shot was like
01:09:30picked the pocket
01:09:31there
01:09:31Salah's brought
01:09:32it down
01:09:33oh it's a great
01:09:34finish
01:09:34Brentford win
01:09:37three guards
01:09:39to two
01:09:40and for Liverpool
01:09:41a fifth consecutive
01:09:43league visit
01:09:44to the capital
01:09:44with a fifth
01:09:45successive defeat
01:09:47well don't forget
01:09:50there's extended
01:09:51highlights of
01:09:52every match
01:09:53on the iPlayer
01:09:54and BBC
01:09:54Sport website
01:09:55it's FA Cup
01:09:56first round
01:09:57next week
01:09:58we're live
01:09:58with Brackley
01:09:59Town
01:09:59versus
01:10:00Notts County
01:10:00BBC2 and iPlayer
01:10:02for that one
01:10:02Saturday
01:10:03at 5.15
01:10:04Danny
01:10:06as we saw
01:10:07Brentford got it
01:10:08absolutely spot on
01:10:09against Liverpool
01:10:10but in the interest
01:10:11of providing you
01:10:12with some therapy
01:10:13do you want to have
01:10:13your say on what's
01:10:14going wrong at Liverpool
01:10:15well I think there's
01:10:16a few things
01:10:16the biggest thing
01:10:17is physically
01:10:18they don't assume
01:10:19too many of them
01:10:20look off it
01:10:21doing the basics
01:10:21the tracking
01:10:22the winning 50-50s
01:10:23the duels
01:10:24I think also
01:10:25there's a lack of
01:10:25confidence in some
01:10:26of them
01:10:26poor decision making
01:10:28at times
01:10:29this is early on
01:10:30you know
01:10:30that can go back
01:10:32up the pitch
01:10:32we know they're
01:10:33brilliant on long
01:10:33throws
01:10:34and then of course
01:10:35you know that
01:10:37that's going to
01:10:38cause you problems
01:10:39we know how good
01:10:39they are
01:10:40and this one
01:10:41a little bit
01:10:41unlucky
01:10:41I mean Bradley
01:10:42bit of a missed
01:10:43touch there
01:10:43poor decision
01:10:44again
01:10:44leads to the
01:10:45long throw
01:10:46they score
01:10:49all of a sudden
01:10:50again behind
01:10:51giving everyone
01:10:52a lift
01:10:52they're playing
01:10:53against
01:10:53little things
01:10:55like this
01:10:55is the main
01:10:56thing
01:10:56when you get
01:10:56out there
01:10:57you've got
01:10:57blocked crosses
01:10:58so congestive
01:10:58from Salah
01:10:59then Kerkes
01:10:59doesn't get out
01:11:00there
01:11:00no point
01:11:01being there
01:11:01and then
01:11:02losing the
01:11:03header
01:11:03they're simple
01:11:04things
01:11:05more intensity
01:11:06when you press
01:11:07when you tackle
01:11:08you know
01:11:08poor there
01:11:09giving the ball
01:11:09away
01:11:10sloppy when you're
01:11:11in a good
01:11:11position
01:11:12and then the
01:11:13ball in
01:11:13simple ball
01:11:14in behind
01:11:14Brentford pick up
01:11:15the pieces
01:11:16and they're out
01:11:17again
01:11:17and they know
01:11:18because they've
01:11:19watched games
01:11:19recently that
01:11:20Liverpool struggle
01:11:20with it
01:11:21now this is a
01:11:21perfect example
01:11:22this shouldn't
01:11:23happen in the
01:11:24Premier League
01:11:24against any team
01:11:25this is the
01:11:26right back
01:11:27flying past
01:11:28people
01:11:29that was
01:11:29Gakpo and
01:11:30Kerkes
01:11:30token gesture
01:11:31Verts
01:11:31weak
01:11:32token gesture
01:11:33before you
01:11:34know it
01:11:34they're in
01:11:35your box
01:11:35this is the
01:11:36right back
01:11:36by the way
01:11:37now in the
01:11:37left
01:11:37inside left
01:11:38position
01:11:38getting shots
01:11:39off
01:11:39and it's
01:11:39only a block
01:11:40from I think
01:11:41Bradley in the
01:11:41end that stops
01:11:42him
01:11:42ball good
01:11:43ball up
01:11:44she sent a
01:11:44forward
01:11:45too easy
01:11:45not strong
01:11:46enough
01:11:46Gakpo
01:11:47gesture
01:11:48Kerkes
01:11:48easy to run
01:11:49by
01:11:49gives the
01:11:50foul away
01:11:51now
01:11:52if you can't
01:11:53do the physical
01:11:54stuff and the
01:11:54simple
01:11:55stuff
01:11:56you're going
01:11:56to be
01:11:56defending
01:11:57and conceding
01:11:58Gakpo here
01:11:59on the edge
01:11:59of the box
01:11:59doesn't even
01:12:00go into the
01:12:00tackle
01:12:01moves his
01:12:02body out
01:12:02the way
01:12:03and again
01:12:04here he is
01:12:05like Cafu
01:12:06going past
01:12:07people
01:12:08playing with
01:12:09freedom
01:12:09nobody putting
01:12:10tackles in
01:12:11I just
01:12:13I haven't seen
01:12:13Liverpool play
01:12:14with that lack
01:12:15of tenacity
01:12:16in a long
01:12:16time
01:12:17great shot
01:12:18there
01:12:18after
01:12:19Verts
01:12:20didn't get
01:12:20back in
01:12:21and the goal
01:12:22you know
01:12:22they lose it
01:12:23poor possession
01:12:24sloppy play
01:12:25Canate
01:12:25switches off
01:12:26you know
01:12:27that when
01:12:27they get
01:12:28freedom
01:12:29they're going
01:12:29to put the
01:12:29ball in
01:12:30behind
01:12:30because that's
01:12:31what they do
01:12:31they're very
01:12:32good at it
01:12:33and they should
01:12:33do that
01:12:33so I just
01:12:35think the lack
01:12:36of intensity
01:12:37and I don't
01:12:38think it's
01:12:39them not
01:12:39trying
01:12:39I think too
01:12:40many of them
01:12:40aren't physically
01:12:41there
01:12:42a lot of them
01:12:42miss pre-season
01:12:43some of them
01:12:43adapt into the
01:12:44Premier League
01:12:45which we know
01:12:45is difficult
01:12:46they've got to
01:12:47improve on
01:12:48quick
01:12:48really got to
01:12:49improve on
01:12:49quick
01:12:50I think
01:12:50they're
01:12:51overthinking
01:12:51a little bit
01:12:51do you feel
01:12:52like they're
01:12:52overthinking
01:12:53in positions
01:12:54as well
01:12:54the forward players
01:12:56compared to
01:12:57Arsenal for instance
01:12:57they're all
01:12:58working
01:12:58but they're
01:12:59not with
01:12:59the last step
01:13:00not really
01:13:00going full in
01:13:01are they
01:13:01and I think
01:13:01that's the
01:13:02side of it
01:13:02where
01:13:02there's too
01:13:03many players
01:13:03that aren't
01:13:04used to the
01:13:04Premier League
01:13:04intensity
01:13:05as well
01:13:05and some
01:13:06are
01:13:06and that's
01:13:06probably
01:13:07the diamond
01:13:07it's not
01:13:07working
01:13:08now let's
01:13:10take a look
01:13:10at how the
01:13:11table stands
01:13:12after this
01:13:12weekend's
01:13:13action
01:13:13it's the
01:13:13first time
01:13:14in 33
01:13:15years
01:13:15that none
01:13:16of Manchester
01:13:16City
01:13:17Chelsea
01:13:17Liverpool
01:13:18or Manchester
01:13:19United
01:13:19have been in
01:13:20the top
01:13:20four
01:13:20after nine
01:13:21matches
01:13:22Bournemouth's
01:13:22tally of 18
01:13:23points is a
01:13:24club record
01:13:24at this
01:13:25stage
01:13:25and Wolves
01:13:26remain the
01:13:27only team
01:13:27in the top
01:13:28four English
01:13:28teams yet to
01:13:29win
01:13:29Burnley
01:13:30with successive
01:13:31Premier League
01:13:31games for the
01:13:32first time
01:13:32since April
01:13:332022
01:13:34Sevilla beats
01:13:35City but it's
01:13:36Arsenal who
01:13:37cash in
01:13:37out
